Guest Reviews
- Amanda (10/5): - Delightful host, comfy bed, clean and lovely breakfast!! Linda makes you feel right at home and well taken care of. Highly recommend for a stay out of the city.
- Alistair (10/5): - Wonderful stay, felt loved as soon as you walked in the building.
Bedroom spacious, warm and cosy.
Breakfast was excellent.
So looked after.
- Adam (10/5): - Great quiet location very clean lovely hostess couldnt have been more helpful and tasty breakfast thanks for a super break
- Rachel (10/5): - This property is a working farm, so if you lie in your bed with your windows open, you can hear all of the animals as they go about their business. It's quite soothing and relaxing. The owner is incredibly sweet and works hard to ensure that you're comfortable. The views are breathtaking, and it's not far from a couple of quaint little towns. I'd recommend trying the Boswell Arms pub about 15 minutes away of you have the time and means.
It is unorganized to now that all of the rooms are up a short flight of stairs and the toilet and shower are on the main floor.
- Jeannette (8/5): - Good value for money. Very hospitable and accommodating.
- Andrew (10/5): - Fantastic stay with lovely owners. Fantastic breakfast and really comfortable beds. Faultless.
- Andrew (10/5): - Lovely hosts and beautiful location.
- Kevin (8/5): Good stopover location - Lovely friendly welcome and stay. Nice breakfast and comfortable bed.
- Leslie (10/5): - Fantastic spot! Georgeous countryside. Linda is extremely welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Fabulous value - recommend highly!
- Liam (10/5): - Very accommodating host, nice room and a lovely breakfast at a fantastic price.
- Yvonne (10/5): Very good b and b. - Had a lovely stay at Dykefield. Lynda was very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was nicely cooked and very tasty.
A good, traditional old fashioned b and b.
Very quiet location which made for a great sleep.
I would recommend this b and b and would stay again.
I liked watching the fields of cows from the window and the lovely swifts flying around just outside the window.
- Nicholas (10/5): Fantastic stay - We had a fantastic time. Lynda was an excellent host, great breakfast and the most comfortable bed. Would definitely recommend.
- Lesley (10/5): Wonderful stay - I had a lovely stay. Warm and very welcoming. Linda was a fantastic host. Very accommodating. Shared bathroom was not an issue for me. Other guests were courteous. Breakfast was great. I will definitely be stay here again in the future.
- John (8/5): - The property was fine. We took a very nice walk along the road. It was very quiet and beautiful.
the host was very kind and attentive to our wants and needs. We hoping she had a double, queen or even a king bed. All she had available was two twins. It worked out though. The only thing we really didn’t like was the only en-suite was down stairs.
- Mark (10/5): Gorgeous working Farm - A working farm in a gorgeous part of the world. The host was super hospitable the room was lovely and clean. The bed was not that comfortable for me but ymmv. The bathroom is shared but not a problem for me.
- Mark (10/5): - Small cosy room, comfortable bed and good sleep. Linda was a great host and the b&b was great value for money.
- Miss Miranda (10/5): Peaceful farm - This farmhouse B&B was a lovely discovery. Quiet and in lovely countryside, it was very convenient for Dumfries House. It is not for those who want a four poster bed. It is a working farm and fine for a stay of a couple of nights.
- DIANA (8/5): - Definitely excellent hospitality and though I realised it was a downstairs shared bathroom it was hard waiting when desperate for the toilet. If bathroom/shower had been separate from the toilet it would be overall excellent.
- Christopher (10/5): It’s a room with a bed for one night. - It’s a hotel with a bed. Very quiet at night so no disturbance whilst sleeping. Great host even left me an early breakfast out and “secure” parking for my motorcycle. Well undercover which is a lot more than you can say for most other hotels.
- Colin (10/5): - Very friendly host nice room and a lovely. Breakfast would definitely stay again
- George (8/5): - The room was lovely, as was the breakfast in the morning. Only issue there was no on-suite, had to go down stairs to toilet etc. But overall would recomend it, if you are in the area and would use again, if needed. Thank you
- Stuart (10/5): - Owner really nice, comfy bed, great breakfast
- Gill (10/5): - Friendly and helpful owner, good breakfast, amazing value
- John (10/5): Welcoming and comfortable - Welcoming and comfortable. Perfect place for an overnight stop, central to the Ayrshire area. Lovely host, and really good value for money.
- p (10/5): - everything was good
- Gillian (10/5): - It was lovely staying at a property that is also a working farm and the location was so picturesque even though it was only a few minutes drive from the main road. The Farmhouse was very clean and welcoming and the breakfast was great. The owner made some fantastic suggestions for sightseeing and places to eat for dinner so overall it was a great stay and I would be happy to go back.

Breakfast is delicious and plentiful.
- Anne (10/5): A great stay - Beautifully restored house in a fully National Trust village.
I didn’t have a car but there is a local taxi driver and a coastal bus service.
I had a delicious breakfast on both mornings and I noticed that they are able to cater for most dietary requirements.

- Martin (10/5): Rural - No problems
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This accommodation is nicely situated out in the countryside, but within easy reach of practically anything else which one may realistically ever need. It is a great bolt hole for me, and I got a desperately-needed excellent nights sleep last night :-) Lynda is a lovely hostess who has got everything just right, as far as I am concerned... thanks again, Lynda ! See you again soon :-)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lynda could not have been more pleasant, welcoming or accommodating, right down to provision of a Chinese carry-out menu and a plate for the food which I brought in :-) Just as I was settling down for the night, a friend in need called me, so I had to leave the extreme comfort of the lovely family bedroom, before I had the chance to have what promised to be a wonderful restful sleep and following vegetarian breakfast... However, I hope to be back in the next week or two, to pick up where I left off... Top marks to Lynda; thank you !
- Fran (10/5): - Very accommodating to our late arrival, very flexible and helpful to a separate traveler arriving earlier and with some special needs, and an unfailingly friendly and good-natured hostess. Lovely big room that comfortably sleeps four with lots of room for luggage.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Fantastic place, excellent value for money.

- Helenmary (8/5): A nice quiet and friendly bed and breakfast. - We arrived in the dark and had a lovely warm welcome from the owner, Lynda who instantly made us feel at home. Our room was spacious with comfortable beds. We had a happy and peaceful stay.
- Lakbir (10/5): Excellent very friendly b & b - Very charming and helpful lady owner who welcomed us in her own home. Excellent cooked breakfast with large portions and was allowed to heat up own food and dine in the dining room. Beautiful peaceful environment and to see a farm in action in the morning. Very competitive priced. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly and very good value - I had to find a hotel at short notice near a wedding venue. This B&B was in an ideal location and for the price was very good value. Very nice room and lovely breakfast in the morning.
