Guest Reviews
- Kim (10/5): Clean room, gracious host! - Lots of easy parking, easy access to rooms, right off highway. Parking lot could use a little work, but still not bad.
- Jeff (6/5): -

- Stephanie (10/5): Very convenient to Pizza Hutacross the street. Beds were comfortable. - They placed us right next to an exit door because we were traveling with our fur babies.
- N7607OCkimf (2/5): This place is a dump! Do not stay! - Mold in tub. Microwave does not work.
No blanket.
This motel/ hotel shouldn’t even carry the name Wyndham. It’s very outdated
- Anthony (7/5): We had a pleasant stay. - The staff were very helpful. I phoned that we would be late arriving, the manager was very understanding.
The room was clean and tidy.
Breakfast had good choices. The bedside lamp, one of two identical lamps, was on the chest of drawers. It would be better to put the lamp where it should be, at the bedside, and put another lamp on the writing desk to illuminate that area. The lack of a lamp made the room somewhat dark.
- Bradley (4/5): Terrible Hotel - Room very dated, unclean, damaged as well.
- Karron (9/5): -
- Virginia (6/5): Bathroom was bad. Stool seat had one bolt, nearly fell. No hot water. - Poor. Very little food was offered More food.
- Rodney (2/5): - Emergency came up and we were not able to stay at this motel. We called the motel to cancel the reservation. They would not do so! We called the phone number given to us through the booking. We gave them the confirmation number that I received and all we got was that YOU did not recognize the confirmation number. Is this some sort of SCAM? Do not charge my credit card for any services not received!

- Janice (4/5): They just need to upgrade the facility and offer a decent breakfast. - Friendly staff, beds were clean The shower faucet was broken and couldn’t adjust the temperature.
Lame breakfast. Old building, spiders.
- PJ (8/5): Nice budget motel - Older property, but clean. Very nice staff! Would stay again.
- 418jonig (2/5): Gross. Do not stay here - Absolutely Disgusting! Opened the door the room was old, dilapidated and falling apart. Shower / tub had mold in it. Shower handle fell off! Security lock was pulled away from the wall. We left and the hotel refused to refund us. Do NOT STAY HERE!!!
- Charles (1/5): -
- Rob (10/5): - Great motel to stay at when visiting Fossil Butte National Monument. Proprietor very friendly and helpful, clean room and bathroom.
- Tiffany (2/5): - Watch your charges! They charged me $100 extra for no reason
- Verified traveler (10/5): Older but nice - It was an older hotel and breakfast was minimal, but over all nice place to stay.
- Ludo (6/5): - Stop in between, from Fossil Butte to Southpass City
- Wendy (4/5): - No one at front desk. Breakfast was awful. Hotel looked abandoned
- BJ (10/5): -
- Keighly (3/5): Enjoy the area not the hotel. - Bed was kinda comfortable Bedding wasn’t great, bathroom was in poor shape, something looked like blood? On the faucet for the sink, took awhile to get some service from the front desk, ac/heater unit was not in great working shape, heater smells like burning pretty bad…
- JOSHUA (2/5): - We arrived late and went right to our room to sleep for the night. AC kept turning off and not working making it very difficult to sleep because it was hot.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (6/5): - Breakfast was extremely simple and limited. Rooms were generally clean, but could’ve been better. The building is older and seems to be a little run down. Positives would be there there was wifi and direct tv.
- Jeffery (4/5): - Old rooms, loud and manger barely spoke English smelled like curry while they cooked dinner on the way in to the building.
Charged $200 security deposit after checking in. $100 for the night stayed and another the next morning.
Won’t use super 8 ever again. I would rather pay for an air b and b than put up with the low rate accommodation.
- Sarah (4/5): Disappointing -
- John (10/5): Fossil trip - Friendly staff,
Clean, decent breakfast.
Hot shower.
- John (6/5): - Nothing unique about the property except the online Ad.
While the physicality was clean, your 1st impression was an old tired facility who spent money on advertisement and not on maintenance/looks. My 1st impression was just an old place to sleep. The main complaint was the bathroom (tub and toilet area). The ceiling over the tub must have been repaired from a leak in the floor above but looked like it could fall on you at any moment, the tub faucet wiggled and was only held to the wall by sloppy application of caulk. The tile floor appeared to have no caulking between the tiles and the caulking seam of the floor to the tub was just as bad as the faucet. The walls in one section was hap-hazelly closed off??? I only wondered what lived under the floor or in the holes in the wall. In touring the small town, I found many other older hotels who just failed to make their presents known prior to my visit. Next time I will stay at the Best Western knowing the price would be higher but the drive by looked fabulous. Super 8???- No way again anywhere!!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not a super motel 8 - It's our 18 year anniversary we had tried to book a room in advanced we finally had gotten through to actually speak to a person within an hr, the prices kept fluctuating from $98 to $278 and higher. On line the prices stated a very reasonable price. When we arrived at the Hotel the prices jumped to a higher rate.
The bathroom needs work and cleaning, the toilet kept running all night. Fire alarms kept going off in our room when we took showers we had to open windows and doors to stop the alarm. The towels stained or dirty. The motel states a Continental breakfast; you may get a bowl of cereal, toast or a waffle, if they have it coffee, juice, tea.
The walls in the room were dirty, bathtub dirty. The iminities in the room were bare minimal for 4 people you got a little tube of shampoo, conditioner, and bath gel a microwave, TV and wifi. Not all of the switches work in this room.
This site says I may take pics; but unfortunately taking pictures is blocked. So I am unable to take pics of how filthy this room is and the broken switches, and dirt and grime in the tub and on the tub walls.
- Amber (5/5): A little rough around the edges but a clean place to stay. - It was as clean as it could be. For the area, it was a decent price but did t feel like it was a great value. Very run down. You could tell that improvements were being made.
- Rachael (8/5): Just a sheet - Only thing i would change is not thick enough blankets
- Clinton (4/5): - Rooms where Ok. continental breakfast was a 2 out of 10.
ownly thing to eat was waffles , one kind of cereal, some egg thing in the frig. just bad.
- Bernadette (6/5): - The bed was ok, lugging my backpack up a flight of stairs at 11pm was not fun. Breakfast had no beverages over than coffee, I’m pretty sure the yogurt was bad and there was no one on duty to tell.
- Antoinette (10/5): - It was close to the fossil dig and very accessible
- Chad (6/5): Decent, not great - Terrible lighting in rooms. Sunk in mattresses.
- daymong2025 (10/5): Solid basic motel - Clean rooms, the breakfast was actually pretty good with a waffle maker. For a place to stay, clean up and get out the door with a meal…. This fit the bill. We were in town for business and a fair amount of restaurants in the area are less than good, so it was nice to have a good breakfast here
- Melissa (8/5): - Clean and quiet, check in was easy and bed was comfy. Great little roadtrip stay without breaking the bank.
- Annette J (6/5): - Hotel old and pretty dirty
- Gary (8/5): - Nice location, met all of our needs.
- Ana (8/5): Very good - The staff was awesome. Very friendly and professional. Always available when I had a question.
- Claudette (5/5): Passable -
- Marvin (8/5): Very good -
- Bradley (8/5): - Although a bit dated, the room was clean and the bedding smelled and looked fresh. If i came to Kemmerer again i would consider staying here again.
- Wheeler (1/5): Deposit requirement not displayed prior to booking. - I booked the room because they offered free cancelation and pay at property. It was an added bonus that breakfast was included. They charged $100 deposit. When I stated I did not have to pay a deposit, the clerk said she could cancel my reservation. That would leave me without a room. She provided a receipt the next morning that showed $0 but didn't clearly state it was a refund. No one checked the room, so the employee didn't know i didn't damage the room. When I stated that, she said they trusted me. At 7am in the app I canceled my upcoming reservation and at 1pm I baked to confirm the cancelation, she told me I would have to pay for the room because I didn't give 24 hrs advance notice, yet when she offered to cancel my reservation when I was checking in, there wasn't 24 hrs. I will give a bad review and never stay there again. The mattress was very uncomfortable. Also the outlet for the coffee machine didn't work.
- Bart (4/5): - Not very comfortable
- Donald (7/5): It was good except the breakfast - The hotel was clean and nice. We enjoyed our stay The Breakfast was terrible. The omelets were dried out. The muffins were hard as a rock and the apples were old and mushy. We went else where for breakfast.
- Joseph (10/5): - Everything went well.
- Betty (6/5): - Do this hotel was in a small town with not much to find places to eat. The hotel Was old and needed some updates. The managers were Friendly.
- A4408SQrajeshm (10/5): Great stay - I am on business trip I stayed at Super 8 in Diamond Ville. As per small town I was surprise with nice and clean hotel with good start up breakfast with Omelets, Waffle, Muffins and hot coffee. Staff was nice and helping. I will stay there again.
- Ramona (8/5): Very good - Location was great. Room was comfortable.
- Shawntay (6/5): Meh - The refigerator did not work there was no cold or hot water it was just lukewarm so had to go to breakfast area to get cold water to drink the shower was almost cold just a lukwarm shower.
- Royden (8/5): Very good - A nice location on the edge of town. There was nothing I disliked, it was just as I expected.
- Kim (7/5): Good -
- Richard (9/5): Decent place. - Room was comfortable. Location was perfect. Breakfast needs at least one protein item. Pre-packaged hard boiled eggs or yogurt would be good start.
- coraw831 (2/5): Stay Any Place Else - This place is horrible. Shower not safe, plus can’t get warm water. My husband fell in the shower because there was nothing provided to place in the tub for safety. The outside door was not secure so anyone could come inside. It is old and rundown plus they charged me a high rate for something that should have been much better. Keep driving if this is your only choice.
- Youmar (9/5): Superb -
- James (10/5): - Good rate eas a plus
Noisy AC amd small tv
- Marcus (6/5): - It’s fine, not many options in the area. Older hotel, friendly staff. It’s fine if you travel for work.
- Ted (7/5): It was ok, but might spend a little more someplace else. - The breakfast was good with the waffle machine. While taking a shower the water turned cold for about a minute.
- Randy (7/5): Good -
- Julia (6/5): - Parking spot is too narrow, so i couldn't Parking.
- Lisa (8/5): - .
- Amy (1/5): Wouldn’t stay here again. Mold. - The staff was friendly and helpful Black mold all over our bathroom, counter was so high in lobby I could hardly see over it to sign papers, very minimal breakfast, dirty hallways, run-down exterior
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Older motel, but clean. Dripping water in tub. Could use a little maintenance. Very handy for the dog. Just opening the door is always good for me.
- James (2/5): - Being charged $100 for a deposit on a cheap room and put on my credit card. No reason for that. It should show if the room was damaged
- Verified traveler (6/5): Meh - Booked this hotel last minute because I wasn’t planning on staying in Kemmerer, and it was the only place with available rooms. Read reviews and wasn’t expecting anything great, which it wasn’t. Room was a moldy smelling oven when I checked in because they turn the air off between guests. Bed consisted of a sheet and a thin blanket that you could tell had never been washed, and the mattress was not comfortable. Room didn’t feel clean, but the air conditioner and fridge did work in my room. Air conditioner was loud and squeaky though.
Didn’t eat breakfast, but grabbed a muffin to go that was too hard to bite into. Not many options for breakfast.
- Stephen (7/5): Good -
- Denise M. (6/5): - I didnt like it
- Sharon (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (2/5): Go somewhere else please - It was run down smelt bad , room stinks water damage everywhere, pieces of plain drywall put on holes in walls . Bathroom was gross the water smelled like fish tank. I’d rather of slept in my suv
- Samuel (10/5): - We had a nice stay.
- Liliana J (10/5): - Diferent.
Thank you.
- Fan (4/5): - Upon arrival, we were charged a security deposit, in addition to what we have paid for the room rate. We had to take pictures around the room for existing damages and send the pictures to the management so that we would not be charged for these pre-existing damages. We did find three pre-existing damages in and by the bathroom. The security deposit was unnecessary and adds burden to the guests. The deposit was refunded to us after we left. The bed sheets have stains and the bath tub walls have ugly black caulk decays. The motel has a lot of room for improvement.
- Aimee (6/5): Basic motel. Staff was kind, motel was clean - Staff was very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable. I like that the rooms had a refrigerator and a microwave. The comforter had stains on it. The toilet broke while we were there, and had to reach inside to flush it.
- Clinton (4/5): Not Worth it… - Very disappointing. Oyster Ridge Music Festival was happening so we paid $220 for one of these rooms. These room are worth $80 at best. VERY DATED and just a disappointing stay for the cost.
- Clinton (4/5): Just Keep Driving…. - Very disappointing. Oyster Ridge Music Festival was happening so we paid WAY TO MUCH for one of these rooms. These rooms are not worth the money they are asking. VERY DATED and just a disappointing stay for the cost.
Filthy AC, Nasty Bathroom, Hot water wouldn’t work for a shower just Keep
driving, even if you have to drive to the next town.
- Mikkel (5/5): Passable - Almost no breakfast left 1 hour into breakfast service.
- mike (10/5): - Very nice.
- Trina (5/5): Passable - Friendly staff. Bathroom had mold.
- Andrew (6/5): An ok stop - It was a place to sleep and shower after a long day on the road. While the pictures of the building looked decent once there it was obvious they were outdated or photoshopped. While everything was clean and no bugs it was just one of those that you couldn’t help but think there would be making your skin crawl all night long. We got up and left early not even bothering with the limited breakfast that was offered. And while it is a small building you also have just stairs to carry your luggage up if your on the second floor.
- Kelly (4/5): - Old and smelled weird
- Bonnie (6/5): - It was handy that we could walk across the street to get something to eat. I think there was some issue with the electricity as the microwave did not work and the A/C unit quit working too. Don't think the young lady at the desk understood what I was telling her.
- Courtney (1/5): DO NOT STAY HERE!! I was lied to, overcharged without explanation for a very subpar room. - Staff was confused during check in. Avoided questions and couldn’t answer any anything in detail. Was charged a $100 hold for “room incidental damage”. I was told as soon as housekeeping confirmed the room was not damaged I would not be charged the $100 “incidental damage” hold. The room was left in the exact same condition on arrival minus the beds being made. Just spoke to the front desk and they tried to email me confirmation that I was not charged the $100 hold. I stayed on the phone for 15 minutes with them and never received any email, and was told they sent it 3 times. I asked to repeat the email address it was sent to and they couldn’t tell me and started to get frustrated when asked. Then immediately they stated it was my banks fault not theirs. After calmly waiting for the email proof of not being charged they tried multiple times to search for excuses that the email will take an hour to receive although they couldn’t repeat what email address it was sent to, and then again stated it was the bank’s fault not theirs. Communication, honesty, common courtesy.

- Steve (8/5): The room, free parking, and breakfast are a great value. A great location from which to launch your Vernal based vacatio - Convenient location for Vernal and the area attractions. Small but well stocked Continental breakfast. Room was very clean and spacious with good shower and plenty of storage for clothes (if that’s important to you), including an Art Deco style bureau (!) Friendly staff and friendly fellow tourists. The street is very noisy (true for all motels along here), so make some “white noise” with the strong a/c, wear ear plugs, plus the walls are solid so should be ok for sleeping. Zero grounds, but it’s a basic motel, so appreciate the bang for your buck.
- Beverly (6/5): Sparse - The place needs some TLC. Also very minimalist. 2 towels in a 2queen bed room. I was thankful for 3 pillows on each bed. Fridge was turned off. Room did not cool down well. Everything was clean but outdated.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, and pleasant! It's simple and basic, which is exactly what we want!
- codis339 (2/5): Keep driving! - I 10/10 would NOT recommend this hotel and will not stay at it again if in the area! The shower had no hot water! Tried to give my daughter a bath and the water was cold, when we told the front desk they came up and looked at it, basically said sorry they couldn’t fix it and proceeded to offer a measly $10 discount after telling them we wouldn’t be back they said they would do $20 but still didn’t seem to care about the situation! To top it off the whole hotel had a strange smell to it! Do Not stay here!
- Patricia (2/5): - The front desk person spoke very little English , our room had a sour smell ,frig did not work & bed very uncomfortable. I do not recommend staying more than a night to lay your head for a quick rest
- Adam R (4/5): - Well the smoke detector was unplugged boogers and some liquid stain on the wall, only half of the toilet seat was attached to the bowl, the shower was either cold or Luke warm the spray out of the shower head was so wide it totally missed you which was half pluses with black stuff. Dirty floor in the restroom shower has black stuff around the bottom of the surround I’m assuming it was mold. I paid for the insurance which is a joke we came in a day late for the reservation because of work and they wouldn’t refund a day.
- Kate (8/5): - This hotel is just fine for what it is - an older Super 8 in a very small rural town. The property is a bit run down, with pet scratches on the doors, but the sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. The hallway smelled weirdly of old curry spice, but the room itself didn't.
We also discovered in the morning that the in-room refrigerator was plugged into the same circuit as the light switch, so our refrigerator acted as a fancy icebox.
There's really nothing wrong with the area around the property, it's just that there's really nothing great about it, either. The Pizza Hut and Arctic Freeze are just across the street, which was good.
There was only one other person staying at the hotel, so it was plenty quiet. The staff person who checked us in was friendly and efficient. The staff person who worked the breakfast shift did not appear to be present, as there was a "Leave your key here" box on the desk.
There's really nothing wrong with the area around the property, it's just that there's really nothing great about it, either. Overall, I would stay there again - the price was right.
- Connie (7/5): Good - Price Refrigerator was not in good working condition. Outside needs a better upgrade appearance.
- Cheng (10/5): - Good value
- Robert (10/5): - Parking is great and the staff is very helpful and courteous
Bob
- leigh (2/5): - Horrible experince!! Absolutely no hot water!! Never stay there again!!
- Mauricio (6/5): - Did not vacuum and was unplugging all devices in room and turning heater off and the fridge unplugged with food and drinks in it
- Laynie (4/5): - For a non smoking hotel that’s all we smelled. There was no coffee for breakfast, yogurt was past the expiration, owners spoke very little English (India), room was poorly supplied with essentials, and for the price, I’d give it a 1 out of 10
- Brittany (2/5): - We needed a quick place to sleep and it was filthy! We called it the murder bathroom. An animal had been locked in there and had tried to scratch their way out, mold, dirt, it was scary!
- ronsnyder2023 (6/5): Cold shower - The shower did not supply warm water for the majority of showers that I took during my stay. There was also what I hope was a price of old brownie left on the floor in my room. The staff was very pleasant, welcoming and helpful when I asked for something.
