• Andrew (10/5): - The staff were welcoming helpful and friendly, the room was spacious and well presented with everything we needed and the breakfast was freshly prepared, good quality, well presented and delicious. A lovely place to stay.
• Eileen (10/5): - It’s the first time we have stayed in the hotel and it won’t be the last. Everything and everyone could not have been more attentive and accommodating. My ONLY negative (which was my choice) was our room was located on the second floor and when we book the next time I would select a first floor room.
• Kevin (8/5): - We stayed at the Craven Heifer for 2 nights whilst attending a wedding at Bolton Abbey. The location was ideal for us. Addingham is a lovely villlage in a beautiful spot. The staff on Reception and in the restaurant/ bar were lovely - so friendly, welcoming & helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast and dinner were excellent (we can highly recommend the steak pie). Whilst the bathroom was quite large, the room itself wasn’t huge but had everything we could possibly need and was very clean. We would stay again.

• Julie (10/5): “Chuffin Eck” was “Chuffin Great” - We stayed in “Chuffin Eck” a cricket themed room with a firm, comfortable bed. The refreshments tray contains everything you need to make a lovely cuppa plus two bottles of water and biscuits, which were all very welcome. The restaurant was clean and welcoming and served the most delicious evening meal and breakfast. The staff were all friendly, polite and helpful. I would recommend the Craven Heifer Addingham.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Tithe Barn visit - Stayed at this hotel as we were attending a wedding nearby. Perfect base Superb food Perfect location Superb service Would without a doubt visit again. The team were very obliging with all our requests. Taxi to the Tithe barn less than £10 each way.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Overpriced, Dirty, Dated and Cold. - We paid twice what you’d have expected for this type of poor accommodation; we relied on the photos and didn’t want to stay at a nearby Best Western. Decent, reasonably priced hotels are hard to come by in the area. It was an uncomfortable stay. The room was listed as the “Romantic Cabaret” room; there was nothing romantic about this run down, dirty and freezing room. The carpets were dirty and in need of vacuuming, the shower power lacked power, the shower head was moldy, the street lights shone through the curtains all night, the heat was off until the morning while it was minus 3 overnight. The bed was uncomfortable with cheap bedding. The rooms are above the pub; they look like a bad DIY job. We ate at the pub; the food and drink was acceptable, and the service friendly, and the stay included a decent breakfast. However, I would never recommend the place for accommodation. At £130 for the night, I felt like we were robbed…

Service from staff was exemplary! We had booked & paid well in advance. Our assigned Room was "Crows Nest"! which turned out to be at the very top of the hotel up a narrow, steep, winding staircase to an attic with a very good en-suite, but otherwise a boys room with a collection of miscellaneous boxes serving as storage/tables and odd bits of ephemera scattered about. Who thought placing 2 80 year olds in such Room carrying their own luggage was a good idea?

I also requested brown toast and was given white, then told the white toast was brown it just looked white.. The service at breakfast ruined my entire stay.. will not be returning.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Warm welcome at the Craven Heifer - Very helpful staff. Our first room was rather small with a very hard bed, but they changed it to a bigger room for our last night. Some of the boutique rooms have very quirky furniture! The staff were great, and the breakfasts were brilliant. Would stay again - but choose the room carefully.

Improvement suggestions: Our room had no hairdryer. Xmas lights flashing outside our window all night were a minor distraction. Good to switch them off overnight. Some fixtures such as bedknobs were loose Toilet seat doesn't stay up without having to hold it. Hopefully some constructive comments as this really is a lovely place

• Natalie (10/5): A fabulous birthday night away. - A fabulous night away. We were given a warm welcome when we arrived and enjoyed drinks and food once we had checked in. The team were so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. We will definatley be returning for Sunday lunch, as we only had a selection of starters as we were dining elsewhere that evening. Our room was very spacious and clean. The bed was really comfortable and we have a very quiet nights sleep. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. We wish we had booked for more than one night! We will be back!

Very helpful online advice prior to our stay advising on reliable taxis, care of our luggage and willing to perform multiple check ins by one person who were given keys to all rooms.

The only thing I would advise some travellers is that as the rooms are above the pub, be prepared for the background noise until about 11:30pm on weekends - this was not an issue for us at all, but might be useful info for some travellers planning on having an early night.

The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was excellent- we had evening meal and breakfast and both were delicious and well cooked. Our room was clean and well appointed, if I was being really picky the shower was a bit feeble. We would definitely stay again.

Quick and easy check-in, very grateful for the hotel letting us check in slightly earlier so we could change before attending a wedding up the road. The breakfast was delicious and exceeded our expectations for price of the room. We did find the mattress in the bedroom to be a little on the firm side, but slept well non-the-less. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Breakfast in the mornings were a little slow and you had to ask for milk and butter even though cereal and bread for toast were readily available. The staff were polite and helpful throughout our stay.

The staff were all very helpful and accommodating, the room comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was great. One issue (not the hotel's fault: I had specified 2 twin beds rather than one double on the hotels.com booking form - but that information had not been relayed to the hotel) was sorted out very efficiently and with great service.

• Emma (10/5): Fantastic stay - We had a fantastic stay, the crows nest room was really lovely and we would definitely stay again if we are in the area. The plug sockets were a bit of a faff to get to, and no WiFi, but the quality of the rest of the room made up for it. The breakfast also was very very good and one of the best ones on our roadtrip.

The room was decorated with a modern feel and had an en suite large bathroom with bath/shower combination. There were facilities for tea/coffee making and we would definately visit again. • Amy (4/5): Started well, ended badly - Happy enough with the room, it was clean, modern/quirky and the bed was very comfy. However the shower had been broken (well the top plastic part that held the pole) and it'd just been shoved back in, so whilst I was in the shower it dropped on my head...less than ideal, especially as I then had to proceed to hold the shower head whilst having to wash my hair with one hand, but I survived. I pointed it out to the gentleman who dealt with my check out (a nice friendly guy, staff seemed lovely) I would've forgiven them for that because I am guessing they probably didn't know about it, I could've chosen to shove it back not mention it and let it happen to the next guest after all so I imagine that is what happened to me. The really bad bit is the fact that they've charged me twice for the room! I paid when I checked out (which I did query as I knew they had my card details but I remembered selecting to pay at the property so thought no more of it) and three days later it turns out they decided to take it again. I am just so glad I checked my credit card statement thoroughly else I would've been none the wiser but £95 out of pocket. Now I just have to hope they answer the phone soon as it just keeps ringing out which is a concern.
• Betty (6/5): - The place was quite quaint room was nice clean enough but the bed frame was rather dusty. Breakfast was included but we had to wait as the chef had overslept. One person arrived to take orders, serve, cook and clear so obviously the result wasn't great but the guy did his best.

• David (6/5): I expected more .... - The CH is referred to as a Boutique hotel, it is not it is really a Pub with rooms above. My room “Cabaret” is stated as being a Courtyard view which in my mind would view a courtyard, you know what that is surely. Not here as the view is onto the busy road in front of the Pub, no courtyard in sight, just a few Pub outside table. The best thing about CH is the host who actually tries hard to look after guests but the actual room was tired and more of a B&B standard, worn at the edges, with Macerator toilet. there were other bits I could point out but it would be pointless. Its rated as 3 star but that’s being kind. With a little more TLC this place could be a nice country find as Addingham is a lovely village.
• Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely place to stay, tidy room and very comfortable bed. Breakfast was smashing 👍 Gavin and the 2 student girls in the evening made us feel very welcome. Only downside was the price of lager 🙁
• Marion (6/5): Could be improved. - A very pleasant welcome. Big Splash room was big but very little hanging space(two coat-hangers) and no chest of drawers. One of the two bed side lights did not work, the bathroom mirror light did not function, the mixer tap over the sink was loose, there was a sodden towel behind the loo which was collecting drips from a leak and the plug raising mechanism for the very attractive bath in the room did not work. The evening meal was very good and the beer excellent. I was very surprised that the bar was closed at 10pm. A warning was given at 9.45pm. We were welcome to take drinks up to our room. Unfortunately the volume control on the tv remote did not work! The owner was informed of the problems with his room but no reduction on the £120 B&B fee was offered. Breakfast was well cooked but there was no fruit or cereal offered and no refill of the coffee was offered either. There was no breakfast menu available.

Pub was very quiet as it was start of the week and therefore lacked atmosphere, but bar staff very friendly and no food on Monday nights. Only thing that spoilt the stay was the thin soft pillows and the weak shower.

• Crystalfox (4/5): - The Heathcliffe room we stayed in was tired, noisy and uncomfortable. The mechanical toilet was broken and made horrific noises all night. The shower was broken and you had to turn it on from outside the bedroom. The room wasn’t particularly clean and the bed was very uncomfortable. I thought it was vastly overpriced. Sadly what should have been a lovely night was spoilt. Very disappointed.
