Guest Reviews
- Annemarie (10/5): - Rina was an amazing host and her food was amazing. I had some of the best food cooked by her. There are lots of stairs to walk which he tells you and offers someone to pick up your luggage for 10erous per bag. Well worth the money!! Also we drove there and she also arranged parking for us so we parked across the street, someone picked up our car for us and we walked up the stairs. So convenient. She is so amazing and I couldn’t ask for a better host.
- Donna (10/5): - Rina is the ultimate hostess. You really must be prepared though if you stay here to earn the right to see the magnificent views, you must climb hundreds of stairs up. These same stairs must be climbed back down any time you wish to go to town. The sun is hot and you must be in good physical shape. Communications are a little hard as staff doesn’t speak English. The wine and food abound. Best to visit when you can stay and just enjoy Rina’s hospitality. She taught us to cook with local food items and breakfast is included. You can pay extra and she will prepare wonderful dinners.
- Timo (10/5): Excellent stay at Villa Rina - We stayed at villa Rina for 2 nights and are very happy with our stay. As many other reviews have said, you have to walk up a couple of steps to get there. But once you get to the house, the view is worth the effort. The house is located just outside the hustle and bustle of the central amalfi and for us it was so nice to be able to enjoy the breathteaking views without the hordes of tourists.
The rooms are good size and very cosy and we especially enjoyed the ceiling height and the balcony with panoramic views over the sea. The room was equipped with all the amenities we needed (especially the ac since there was about 30+ degrees celsius during our stay)
We enjoyed 2 dinners at Villa Rina. We had only booked one beforehand but enjoyed it so much that we ate there the second night as well. It is homecooked italian dishes and Rina grows much of the ingredients herself. It was very relaxing Having dinner overlooking the ocean. The breakfast was delicious as well with homecooked jams and a delicious freshly squeezed lemon Juice.
I would recommend staying at Villa Rina If you aren't afraid of walking up steps and If you want something more relaxed and genuine than the tourist version of Amalfi.
- Sven (10/5): Perfect home away from home - stayed there for the third time in three years and it was always excellent. The villa is perfectly located, Rina the owner of the villa is absolutely lovely and her cooking skills are brilliant (taste her dinner menu!). Will be back soon.
- Jonathan (10/5): - My staff in Villa Rina was delightful. The place is a walk and some (many) stairs to climb. However the stay was very pleasurable with beautiful water views. Rina was really pleasant and her cooking was amazing. I ate their all 3 nights. I would recommend to pack vey lightly if you’re staying here or coordinate with Rina for a porter service. Overall I had a pleasant time and don’t forgot to have a shot or two of her homemade limoncello - the best in town.
- Jemma (10/5): - Great stay with Rina. Lovely lady, so helpful. And she is the most amazing cook, 40 euro each for a full course meal and drinks. Was delicious. And a cooked breakfast every morning with lemonade and coffee. Comfortable room with amazing view. Only thing is you do have to climb the 300ish stairs up the hill, so we only went out once a day, have to be reasonably fit to do this (definitely not for everyone). Thanks Rina!
Thank you!!
- marco (10/5): - Accoglienza fantastica. Tutto perfetto.
- Emilie (10/5): - Rina is a fantastic host. You can tell she enjoys making her guests feel welcomed. The food she creates respecting special requests is made from local ingredients only and is made with love!
You made our stay at the Amalfi coast very special.
Greetings to Reneta and the cats!
- Dilip (2/5): - When I booked this hotel i didn't know about i have to climb 300 to 400 steps with laggage. Thats really bad. They sent me a mail on the day of check in morning 8AM. At that time I was travelling, i opened the mail but I didn't get time to read as i was in rush and traveling to Amalfi. The villa owner Rina was in hurry and told me to decide what to do with booking. She said if you want to cancel the booking i will do it and you can talk to HOTEL.COM for refund but i was unable to contact HOTEL COM. I took 15 minutes to decide and told we don't won't to stay now. We left the hotel then we booked another hotel. I would request you please refund my money. I am the previlage customer of HOTEL.COM. if you won't resolve my problem i will not use hotel.com for my future booking. I am a world traveller and i have great following on social media. I will not give good review to your app. Kindly do the needful.
- Siarhei (10/5): - This was our favorite place we stayed through our trip in Italy. The place has amazing breath taking views. We had amazing dinner served by the host. Breakfast was also served and was delicious. We are definitely coming back to this place.
I would recommend contacting the host and booking with the host then through Expedia. Rina is super friendly and an amazing host!
- Danielle (10/5): - The property was located in a beautiful location. A very short and beautiful walk to the main area. The view from our room's balcony was out of this world. Rina was a fabulous and knowledgeable host. We strongly recommend to stay for her dinner as you will not find another restaurant in the area even slightly as delicious.
- Meili (8/5): - Our experience at Villa Rina was great! It was away from the noise of the center of town, but close enough to manage walking back and forth. After reading other reviews, I agree that it is not for the faint hearted when it comes to the stairs and although we were pretty fit individuals, it was tough at times. (the view, however, was worth it) Rina and her staff were extremely kind and open to giving us suggestions for beaches to go to and how to get around. Also according to other reviews, I thought that it was pricey and there were a few hidden fees that we were charged with at the end that we were not expecting. We did have dinner at the Villa one night for 40 euro a person which was very nice. The food was fresh and delicious.
- Sam (10/5): Well worth the steps! - Rina and her staff were very accommodating and helpful throughout our stay.
The food was delicious, we ate at the villa every night of our stay and the view from the dining area is stunning. The limoncello was the best we had during our trip.
The only negative is the steps, but they are well worth it and mean you can enjoy you meal knowing it was well earned!
- Rama (6/5): - No clean, no coffe,no iron box, no parking is very expensive $40 but very good sea view
- Kevin (10/5): - Rina is a wonderful hostess and cook. It takes strong legs to walk the stairs to her villa but it is worth it.
- Michelle (10/5): La dolce vita - Amazing night spent ! Overlooking Amalfi. Super welcome and great advice from proprietor on what to visit locally. Lovely breakfast served in the extensive garden by extremely friendly lady.
- Alain (10/5): - Amazing views, super friendly host. Nice workout to get up there, but worth it for the view
- Verified traveler (8/5): A very nice place to stay in Amalfi! - Rina is a great host. Very kind and helpful. The view is spectacular. The only concern of ours was the 200+ stairs to climb to get to the villa, which makes it a hassle to move around for sightseeing. Parking is also inconvenient.
- Summer (10/5): - Villa Rina lived up to our expectations. It is a special place. Rina is a wonderful host and her staff are all very nice as well. The food is wonderful and is locally sourced. There is a sweet dog there as well as cats that will greet you on your walk to and from the main street. A wonderful way to connect to Amalfi.
- Sabrina (10/5): - Rina’s Villa was the perfect stay. Breathtaking views, food was amazing and Rina was a lovely host. Perfect stay to connect with the natural beauty of the area. Unbelievable sunrises and sunsets. Walking distance to town. Rina prepared dinner for us with her own produce grown on site, made a kid friendly meal that was spectacular and served us her own limoncello. Cannot wait to return!
- Holly (10/5): Great B&B in Amalfi. - Rilla’s Villa was a cozy, comfortable B&B with stunning views overlooking Amalfi. Rilla is very inviting and gracious. She makes the most amazing full dinners served on the outdoor patio. It was scrumptious from beginning to end. We happened to be there when there was a full moon and it was absolutely magical eating dinner overlooking Amalfi under the full moon. It is 200 steps up to Rina’s Villa, we only had 2 backpacks as we were traveling light so it wasn’t a problem at all. There is a great pathway from the Villa all the way into town and beach. Can’t wait to visit again.
- Michael (10/5): - Rina is an amazing host and even better chef. The views from the room and patio where we ate dinner were unbelievable. Wish we could have spent more time enjoying Rina's villa
- Jean-Philippe (10/5): - Rina is an incredivle host. She is ready to help us visit the various towns around Amalfi and that added a lot of value to our visit.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Fantastic view with very impressive hospitality of the owner.
But to get that view, u need to climb up for a while but it worth to!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Villa Rina is a beautiful place to stay-Rina is an excellent host and has thought of everything to make our stay delightful. The rooms are beautiful, the view to the sea spectacular and you will find Rina’s cooking the finest of any Italian restaurant. We will be back!
- Alyson (10/5): Villa Rina - My husband Derek and I really enjoyed our stay at Villa Fina! The view from the villa and the food were phenomenal l! We will definitely be back!
- Jon (10/5): A place to remember - Dream like views, set in an orchard overlooking Amalfi. Lovely homely feel and charming service. Book in for dinner with Rina, delicious traditional home cooking at its best, we ate both nights of our stay and loved everything. This is not a venue for anyone unfit or with mobility issues, the climb up to the hotel is not to be underestimated, but if you are reasonably fit it is a lovely picturesque walk up from Amalfi then through lemon orchards if the accommodation. The climb is more than worth the effort and we hope to return again to this charming place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice View, calm, away from center, hard stairs - 1- Make sure you want to climb 300 stairs, it is not easy for everyone
2- It is better to know your exact time of reaching there so Rina can manage you transportation to the villa. We could not find any way of transportation neither electrical car nor a taxi agreed to take us due to traffic time. we had to wait half hour for a bus to move (it is far from the center by 25 minutes walking minimum, not possible with luggage)
3- You need to Pay 7 Euro per bag, for someone to take your luggage up then again 7 Euro down
4- The view is amazing and the calmness up there
5- Rina is a sweet person and all the people working there that we met, they make sure you are happy
6- the beds are not so comfortable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Rina is absolutely lovely! She is so warm and welcoming and her food is fantastic. It has amazing views over Amalfi and the ocean. The price for those views are quite a few steps but porters are available to assist with luggage if required. You definitely need to eat at least one dinner cooked by Rina.
- Matthew (10/5): A slice of heaven above the town of Amalfi! - We loved our stay at Villa Rina! Yes, it is a long walk up the stairs from the town of Amalfi, but so worth it! And we had dinner on the terrace 2 out of our 3 nights. Rina's dinners are amazingly good, and everthing is handmade by her - even the wine and Limoncello! Highly reccommend staying here, but don't do it if you can't stand a 2 minute hike from town.
- Karl (10/5): Wonderful host - Rina was a wonderful and helpful host. Really enjoyed our 3 nights there. Great view.
- Hazel (10/5): Million dollar view - Amazing stay, bedroom balcony million dollar view and sunrise, very good hospitality
Thanks, I’ll be back soon
- Judith (10/5): Ahh the tranquilitly - Rina is a kind hearted host who accommodates vegans with wonderful home cooking. She has the best location for breakfast and the food is delicious. The short 15 minute walk into to town is very pleasant. A very relaxing place to stay, the room is beautiful, the view can not be beaten. Beautiful memories, thank you Rina.
- russell (10/5): Great Views, Great Host, Grest Stay - Loved our stay. Rina is a great host and makes you feel sooo welcome. Each of her rooms have an amazing view so it does not matter which one you get. The climb to her place is a bit of a work out. Great exercise and worth the views. It’s a 20 minutes walk to town but not a big deal at all and kind of fun. The bed is hard but you get that almost everywhere in Europe.
- Alex (10/5): - amazing view, amazing host, amazing dinner.
One reminder, you have to be fit to climb the stairs every day!
- CCripps (10/5): - Rina is lovely! She welcomes you with fresh lemonade from her garden & dinner & breakfast was delicious.. Yes, there are a lot of steps to get there but this is the Amalfi Coast. Every place involves some climbing steps. If you want flat, go to Saskatchewan.
- nicole (10/5): Amazing experience - My husband and I had an amazing experience at Villa Rina. Rina was so kind and helpful. She cooked us dinner one night which was the best meal we ate all honeymoon. This was a try authentic experience that we really appreciated and enjoyed.
- Karen (10/5): Friendly Comfortable Room with A View - Yes, it is a climb to get to this wonderful B&B. But, if you want a room with a view, you generally have to climb; just to travel the Amalfi Coast, you are probably going to have to do some climbing at some point. Villa Rina is so worth the climb! For one thing, you are climbing through beautiful fragrant lemon groves. When you get there, you are rewarded not only with the spectacular view, but also with the warm hospitality of Rina. She will greet you with lemonade, and you will likely have been offered a home-cooked Italian dinner. Take her up on the dinner. After our first dinner, we chose to eat in for each of the four nights we stayed with Rina; her 4-course meals were a highlight of our full 24 days in Italy. Dinner and breakfast on her terrace (weather permitting) with a view. The house is updated, clean and charming, room and bath were comfortable and spacious (I peeked into a couple of rooms as they were being cleaned and they all looked to be clean, comfortable and spacious), and every room comes with a terrace and/or personal garden space and of course, a view. Rina and her staff are friendly, personable hosts and we felt very much at home. We didn’t take them up on the baggage service because we knew we’d be carrying our bags up a lot of stairs during our time in Italy. But, this is an option and they do their very best to ease the journey and share their spectacular location.
- Dave&Adele (10/5): Our stay in Villa Rina - We celebrated our silver wedding anniversary at Villa Rina.
It was an amazing holiday on the Amalfi Coast.
Rina cooked delicious evening meals, which we ate on the patio as the sun set over the Amalfi Coast. It was amazing!
Rina regularly checked if everything was alright for us with the food and drink. She arranged excellent private transfers from Naples airport (very good vehicle and same professional driver both ways).
Thank you Rina for your friendly & welcoming attitude and making our stay so memorable
- Thomas (10/5): Stay a few days to unwind - Such a beautiful place and the proprietor is like your favorite aunt.
- Jennifer (6/5): Nice setting - Location is nice, set on the hill side among the lemon orchards. Rina organized parking for us for €20/day, and breakfast on the terasse with the great view is wonderful. Only negative was the bed, which was quit hard, the linen, which was like a quilt and seemed a bit old and the sonorisation of the rooms; if there are people speaking loudly downstairs you can also hear them in the rooms.
- Amy (10/5): Hostess with the most! - Amazing place with an incredible view!!
Rina was an incredible host, she made us feel very welcome. She offered if we would like to stay for dinner and 100% say yes to having dinner at the villa if she offers, It was probably the best meal we had in Italy for our entire trip! (Just make sure you don’t have a big lunch so you can enjoy the amazing feast she provides) you’ll want to eat it all!
- Jim and Elaine (10/5): - This is a wonderful guesthouse, clean and spacious with tremendous views of the Amalfi coast. Rina is very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. The tasty and generous breakfast is served on the terrace, weather permitting. And if you want to dine in, Rina is a chef extraordinaire!! We loved it. As on all of this coast though, there are many steps.
- Vladilen (10/5): We'll be back! - We had a wonderful stay at the villa. Rina is a great host and was very friendly and helpful. The place is also beautiful and charming and the views of the Amalfi coast are wonderful from the rooms. Additionally, the WiFi was great, the best we ever had in Italy. Overall, we recommend this place a lot. Some advice for travelers planning to stay at this hotel:
1. Don't be afraid of the steps. Yes, there are quite a few steps from the main road to the hotel, but you can get help from a porter with your luggage (6 euros a bag, and we really recommend this), and honestly after walking through the town and coming back the stairs weren't as daunting or as challenging. All of the cities are built on hills and cliffs, so there will be many steps everywhere.
2. The tap water is good for drinking and very tasty. So, don't buy any bottled water in the towns.
3. We recommend having dinner at the hotel. Rina is a great cook, it's fresh and local, and this was you won't have to hike up the stairs before going to bed. Rina tries to accommodate any dietary restrictions and always asks her guests what they would like to eat. She also makes really tasty Limoncello. Must try!
4. If you're thinking about visiting many places on the Amalfi coast, it's best to stay near Amalfi, it's in the center, and travel out to the other towns.
5. Rina also offers cooking classes and this was a great activity for a rainy afternoon.
Will definitely stay at this hotel again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly recommend - Stunning views, lovely breakfast, a kind and thoughtful host - this place is amazing!
- Edwin (10/5): Great stay, unbelievable view, perfect hospitality - Very nice location with very nice and helpful people. The rooms are nice and from the balcony you overlook the bay of Amalfi. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast and the dinner was served on a terasse in front of the house. It’s really an outstanding experience to be there.
Congrats to the management for their outstanding support and hospitality.
- HappyCustomer (10/5): Amalfi and Villa Rina = amazing! - Oh my goodness; what an experience! First off, Amalfi is incredible - just so beautiful and amazing how a town is built on the side of a mountain overlooking a breath taking sea. Taking that and combining it with Villa Rina's hospitality just made our stay absolutely lovely. Rina's so nice and her property is GORGEOUS and in walking distance to everything. Reminder - you're on a mountain so be prepared for inclines. Our favorite meal in Amalfi was at the hotel. Rina whipped up the most delicious octopus and fish I've ever had and even my boyfriend ate/and loved it.
Thank you Rina for everything :)
- Anna (10/5): My idea of heaven - This bed and breakfast set in a lemon grove straight above the ocean on the Amalfi coast was a dream location. Villa Rina was so beautiful and charming. We had our grandchildren with us and spent the day on the balcony painting and walking through the lemon trees accompanied by her gentle german shepherd. The views were amazing, the breeze relaxing and Rina's food delicious. She served an amazing dinner. We felt like we were guests in her home and treated so warmly. Rina was especially kind to the children and this was their favorite place on the trip. Our bedroom opened onto a balcony with ocean view and breezes and had all the comforts of home. I would love to return.
- Bradford (10/5): High above the crowd - Rina is a gem and her Villa is just magical. Set in a beautiful and tranquil hillside perch, the room was clean and lovely. But Rina herself, is what made it such a great place to stay. She is incredibly helpful, generous and sweet. Lastly, the food, Much if it grown right on the property, was delicious each day. Our stay at Villa Rina was a great experience I can't wait to visit again.
- tosha (10/5): Beautiful views, friendly owner - Villa Rina is in a beautiful setting above amalfi. Very tranquil, with attentive staff, great home made dinners. Enjoyed being in the country, yet still a quick walk to town.
- Peter (8/5): Coast meets Country Experience - This stay will give you a real Italian country experience in a beautiful place with magnificent views of the coast surrounded by lemon trees and olive groves.
Staff are very pleasant and make sure you get a homely feel and enjoy your stay.
Fitness is the key. There are many steps up to the villa that may be challenging for some. Assistance is available for your luggage to be transported to your room. We enjoyed the magnificent walk into Amalfi town.
PS: Lovely large and very playful German Shepherd dog on the property.
- Emily (10/5): LOVE Rina and her villa SO SO MUCH!!! - Words really can't express how much we enjoyed our stay at Villa Rina. It was my favorite place we stayed during a 2 week trip to Italy that included 2 other cities. The view is absolutely breathtaking. I LOVED sitting out on the deck having coffee and breakfast in the morning and dinner in the evening, which by the way, was an awesome deal at 35 euros including probably 6 or 7 courses and a bottle of wine. The owner, Rina, is the absolute best hostess I have ever had at a "hotel" and we travel a LOT. She was so welcoming and sweet, checking on us at every meal to make sure everything was okay. She booked tours for us, had a worker help us with the luggage on the stairs to the villa (which I highly recommend as the 200 steps are pretty killer - but my husband and I were training for a half marathon so it was a great work out each day!) She let us watch her work her magic in the kitchen each night making dinner, and did I mention she makes everything from scratch?? Croissants, crepes, jam, pasta, marinara, lemonade, even olive oil! And it is all SO tasty. Once in a lifetime opportunity to hang out in a local Italian lady's kitchen and learn her cooking tips and secrets. She was so adorable, I wanted to just put her in my suitcase and bring her home with me, but I will have to settle for visiting again and when we do, we won't even bother looking at other places. I cannot recommend Villa Rina enough. An absolutely incredible, beautiful, and welcoming place to stay.
- Margaret (8/5): - Steep steps, so if you have luggage be sure to arrange help through Rina. Very rustic, she has a big German shepherd dog who is very sedate and friendly. Beautiful view. We were not inclined to go back down those steps for dinner because we did not want to climb them again. Her prices for food/drinks are a bit high. At best I rate this accommodation at adequate.
- Andrew (10/5): Beautiful Amalfi - I'll return again soon! - If you want to escape the crowds in town, follow the path to Villa Rina. The view is breathtaking, while the service and hospitality provided by Rina and her staff, is impeccable. I highly recommend the dinner option - a true Italian home cooked meal, using fresh ingredients from the Rina's garden.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wow. What a view. - Such a great place. The dinner with a view over Amalfi is spectacular with Rinna cooking local food from her garden. The climb is steep but worth it.
- Stewart (10/5): Lovely view - Worth the climb. We left our suitcases in our car at the bottom of the hill. Used only backpack and over the shoulder bag for our stay. Great move.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Difficult access - This hotel is 220 steps up the hill, not convenient when you have luggages and dinning out. We booked with Expedia for two nights but never stayed we chose another hotel on the main road just minutes from the centre town and restaurants. The hotel manager charged us for both days even though we never set a foot in the place. I wish they would at least mention the difficult access on the Expedia booking site.
- ML (10/5): Perfect end to a Perfect trip - So glad we chose Villa Rina to end our trip. everything about this place is perfect and made for special memories. Yes the climb is as stated but the view and the hospitality at the end are worth the exertion. Mama Rina is so charming and welcoming. Our room was beautiful, a soft pink color, hand painted tiles, large bathroom, comfortable bed, and a balcony overlooking the sea. We enjoyed a delicious seafood dinner cooked by Mama Rina made with all local ingredients. Breakfast was also delicious. Love how she uses all local fresh ingredients and takes advantage of her lemon crop to make fresh lemoncello, marmalades and dressings. Didn't want to leave but hope to be back!
- Quintin (8/5): Villa Rina is a great place to stay in Amalfi! - Villa Rina is a very nice venue, in a beautiful setting on the hillside in Amalfi, with an absolutely incredible view of the sea. The rooms and accommodations were great, and the breakfast was outstanding! I got up early each morning to see the sunrise from the balcony, and it was well worth it. There are beautiful gardens and lemon trees covering the hillside, with great views that you wouldn't get if you stayed at one of the few locations right on the seaside--being on the hillside adds a great deal to the scenery. As with a huge percentage of the places in the seaside towns like Amalfi, you do have to go up a lot of steps to get to the Villa, but it is well worth it! Just make sure you pack as lightly as you can to ease the task of carrying luggage up to the villa. Rina will make arrangements for someone to help with your luggage, if you desire. Rina is the owner, and she is a terrific person and host! She will make a very nice dinner for you (the cost is comparable with the restaurants in town). She makes a great bruschetta (some of the best I've ever had) and pasta dishes, and we had delicious tuna that was fresh from the Amalfi fish market, along with a nice wine from the region. Breakfast was fabulous, with great coffee, fresh juice, excellent homemade jams, fantastic croissants and breads, and eggs fresh from Rina's chickens. The walk into town and back each day was very enjoyable, with beautiful scenery along the way. Rina is a fantastic person and host!!
- Casey (8/5): Fantastic Amalfi villa - We had a lovely ocean-view room with a balcony. The room was clean and the owner and her family was very attentive and helpful. We really enjoyed the fresh figs and lemonade as well as the breakfast each morning.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely! But beware of many stairs! - Overall, this was a lovely stay.
We came later in the evening, and so were asked to only bring a small bag to the room so that the team could fetch our luggage in the AM. We understood why when we got there - 120 steps (12 floors of stairs) need to be climbed to get up to the hotel from the nearest street! Whew. The property was full of fruit trees and gardens, and had a really wonderful view. The breakfast was made from the fresh produce found on the grounds, which made for an authentic experience. Dinner and lunch are also available, though not necessarily economical (though again, fresh). Our only complaint with this stay (3 nights) is that we were asked to switch rooms after the first night to accommodate another couple who had requested the room and were staying for longer. This was a little bit of an inconvenience.
That being said, Rina (host) was lovely and overall it was a nice experience.
- Rich (10/5): Fabulous Place To Stay!!! - Unbelievable views from the Front patio.
The five and six course dinners nightly were incredible. All the vegetables are grown on the hotel land and the fish is caught daily for dinner. Rina does not stuff you so you have room for dessert. The price is very reasonable...
Will be going back next year. Bringing a group of friends to fill the place.
- Violeta (10/5): Nice hotel close to downtown - Wonderful!! Rina and MariaAngela were amazing!
Breakfast was super delicious! They made us feel like family. Thanks
- Shatha (8/5): If you can go up 300+ steps - This is a beautiful place, but people have to be aware of the steps. It is vital not to take many items as it will be difficult to take up and down.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful all around, but watch out for the steps! - Rina was a great host and this hotel was everything you could ask for in Amalfi. The small hotel is half way up the mountain in the middle of a lemon orchard. The food is fresh from the far or from the local market. Calm peaceful, great food, views and people.
- Rebecca (10/5): Fantastic! - Villa Rina is a wonderful place to stay while visiting the Amalfi Coast. Rina is a wonderful, fun, and warm hostess. AND a fantastic cook. My husband and I visited Italy to celebrate our 20 year anniversary and Rina welcomed us with a bottle of celebratory Prosseco and fantastic home-cooked meals. Her meals are like Sunday dinner at Mom's or Grandma's house. You just can't get that kind of meal at a restaurant. And the views are to die for. I could sit on her terrace staring out at that view, breathing in the scent of jasmine, FOREVER!!!!! Thank you Mama Rina for a fantastic stay!!!
- Carol (10/5): - Adorable hostess Rina. Beautiful location. Amazing food. Highly recommend.
- MSC (8/5): HIkers View - The hike that was required to arrive at the hotel was difficult. We are in good shape and it was hard especially with bags. In fact once you are there you don't want to go anywhere else because it requires so much exertion. The view is spectacular. The food fresh and wonderful! Our hostess is happy to accommodate. But know in advance there are some extras. One large baggage valet is 20E round trip. And the dinner was 30E each, That was with out the main course fish.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Rina and her staff are fabulous. Don't skip out on her home made dinners. The view from the room balcony is spectacular. And just a 15 minute walk to Amalfi.
- Clint (10/5): Villa with amazing views - The views of amalfi town are breathtaking. What made our stay more memorable is the home cooking of Rina.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Wonderful place to stay! Great experience. - Villa Rina was a very pleasant experience and was one of our favorite places while we were in Italy! It was a hike to get there with all of your luggage, but once you get to it it's worth it! Rina greeted us with fresh lemonade, which was the best thing you've ever had after walking up so many steps. The rooms were basic but each had their own balcony with outstanding views! We chose to have dinner there each night because Rina's cooking was amazing! Definitely worth the price. We hope to go back there someday and would recommend to anyone going to the Amalfi coast!
- Winter wanderer (8/5): Stairways to heaven - More in the realm of a B&B this hotel sits in a beautiful location with panoramic views of the Amalfi coastline and is run by a gorgeous and knowledgeable host in Rina.
Not much mention is paid in the listing to the very considerable walk up a considerable series of staircases from the road - first on community paths and then another not inconsiderable climb through the villa garden itself. This definitely is a perfect stay for those who are relatively fit and not carrying large amounts of luggage. That said, once you are there then the stay is everything and more you could possibly expect with easy and visually stunning paths to get to the Amalfi township.
- Nick (10/5): Unparalleled view. - Great Bead & Breakfast with a fantastic view of the Amalfi Coast. Rina, the owner cooked us breakfast and dinner everyday. It was just like having my Italian grandmother back.
The only issue for some folks is the stairs. You have to negotiate 300 of them to get to your car. Otherwise, I unreservedly recommend Villa Rina.
