Craig (10/5): - A genuine oasis of tranquility with Michelin style cuisine are reasonable prices. Ideally located between the west coast beaches and the medieval village of Obidos. The accommodation is very cafefully considered - genuinely thibk they should market the units. Felt very comfortable here.

Nancy (8/5): - Cool and rustic. Good breakfast included and the room was unique and large. We liked that the location was close to the town of Obidos but away from the crowds during the holidays. Wish we could have enjoyed the pool and outdoors more but it was winter. Still, very different and the staff were all very kind and friendly. Alfonso particularly went out of his way to help us out a lot.
joao paulo (8/5): Lindo hotel. Servico com Altos e baixos. - A arquitetura e a decoracao do hotel sao deslumbrantes. O quarto é muito charmoso, com banheira e lareira (mas piso bastante deteriorado). O restaurante com musica ao vivo sao outros pontos altos. Lamento que o staff nao tenha sido minimamente cortês, nem no check in nem no check out. Nem bom dia, nem boa viagem... parece q estamos a entrar num estacao de serviço, nao num hotel de categoria

Danilo (8/5): - O local é bem bonito, afastado do centro de Óbidos. O restaurante do hotel é bom. Muito bom café da manhã. O quarto é espaçoso e bem decorado. A cama extra é horrível. O ponto fraco é o banheiro. Um box muito pequeno, separado e sem um gancho sequer para uma toalha. O outro espaço tem um vaso sanitário sem ducha higiênica. Dentro do quarto ficam os lavatórios. Não é prático, além de ser sem nenhuma privacidade. A área externa é bonita, apesar de muito rústica. Para quem gosta de natureza é uma boa opção.

Luis (6/5): - It’s a great concept with high potential. Maybe it was nice when it was new 10 years ago but maintenance is poor. Also the restaurant is really slow, food is OK. Don’t do the tasting menu - it was slow, cold and more like an afterthought for the staff. Some items OK but most just bland and over cold. Maybe the kitchen had a bad day the night we are there, but boy it felt like the tasting menu was just a way to offload some stuff they didn’t sell. I know it’s harsh but sadly true. Needless to say I would.not recommend to now. But if they renovate or at least fix what is annoyingly broken - like doors won’t close, floor board popping out etc. Then it would be acceptable. It felt like they just didn’t care.

António (6/5): - Má relação qualidade-preço, não vale o valor pago por noite. Apesar de ser um local bonito e muito agradável, com staff simpático, o design sobrepõe-se ao conforto. Por exemplo, o único local confortável para estar no quarto é a cama, as cadeiras do restaurante são muito desconfortáveis, assim como a banheira do quarto. A porta original do quarto está desativada (com fios do sistema de chave por cartão à vista), o que obriga a pisar a relva (e lama, caso chova) para entrar no quarto pelas portas de correr envidraçadas. Quanto à limpeza, ao acordar de manhã e ao dar uma volta reparamos em copos de gin na biblioteca e chávenas de café na estufa...
Alexander (6/5): - It was difficult to find. No sign on not easily identifiable place. We came to the parking lot, did not recognize it as a hotel and spend an hour navigating narrow streets and calling to hotel until finally managed to came back. Person on the phone was extremely patient and helpful. Property was unusual but stylish. Room was rather dilapidated, Shower and toilet in two different places. Toilet door did not close fully and had a hole where the lock supposed to be. Two sinks located in the room between shower and toilet were misaligned and some water did not drain completely. And there was an unusual bathtub in the middle of the room, rather useless and trauma hazard. There was no window that can be open and the only way to let the fresh air was to open sliding front door. It can be secured from intrusion be propping with large wood slub provided as bedside table.

Biblioteca a muito bonita. Boa comida. Bom atendimento. Insonorização insuficiente.

Verified traveler (8/5): Boa estadia, mas.. - Confesso que fiquei um pouco desiludida, não pelo atendimento ou simpatia, sem dúvida que foram excelentes, mas pela relação preço-qualidade. Ficámos na suite deluxe onde se tem que entrar e sair pela janela-porta que não era fácil de abrir e fechar. Embora o quarto fosse lindo, com uma decoração única, sendo bastante espaçoso demorou bastante a aquecer. A cama era fantástica, o ponto alto para mim! Como decoração têm uns tapetes feitos de farrapos, originais, mas com aspecto pouco limpo e com surpresas, no meu caso uma grande farpa de madeira que fez questão de me furar o calcanhar. Quanto à banheira, uma boa experiência! Um aspecto bastante importante para mim nestas estadias é o pequeno-almoço, o qual neste caso desiludiu bastante. Não só achei desorganizado como com fraca variedade. Em suma, achei caro para o que pude desfrutar e portanto foi um sítio que gostei de conhecer, mas não voltava.

Verified traveler (6/5): Very unusual (and not for everyone!) - This is a tough one to review. My wife and I stayed for two nights at Rio do Prado, and while we like the concept of eco-resorts, we concluded that we clearly would not return. However, this property is probably highly polarizing, and it might appeal to some guests with priorities that are different from ours. The room design is unusual - naked (and fairly rough) concrete as well as recycled wood dominate as surface materials. Most of the concrete walls of the 20 or so "rooms" are covered by earth on 3 of four sides, plus the top, with wall to ceiling windows only on the front side. While this design makes the room very quiet and probably helps to keep them cool during hot weather, they felt to us like bunkers - dark and with constant humidity in the air. The rooms are well and nicely equipped with amenities, however, the obvious need for repairs in the rooms and on the property (for example, cracked floors, misaligned and non-functioning doors) ruined the impression that this property consistently maintains high standards. The materials used also don't support the impression of real cleanliness. The general area of the property is rural and nice (close to the lagoon and not too far from the beaches and Obidos), and one would think that with a bit of investment this could become more appealing to a larger audience - as long as one enjoys the bunker-style design choices. Also nice to have two Tesla Electric Vehicle Chargers on site.

Filipa (8/5): Bom hotel e excelente pequeno almoço - O hotel é mto agradável com uma envolvencia muito calma e relaxante. O pequeno almoço é excelente (os croissants são divinais) e a piscina muito limpa. Os quartos poderiam ter melhor insonorização. As amenities de higiene no quarto são poucas (apenas gel/champo, sabonete e touca de banho) o que não se entende num hotel desta categoria, embora prontamente nos tenham disponibilizado o hidratante quando o pedimos. Outra nota ao hotel... se pretendem ser um hotel ecológico, não se entende como têm uma máquina de cápsulas para café no pequeno almoço. A “velhinha” máquina de filtro ou as normais de café moído são bem mais ecológicas.

David (10/5): A very quirky hotel. - Superb place to stay (If slightly remote). A unique hotel. We have stayed in hotels around the world, but nothing quite like this. The room or chalet was quirky and had everything you required. A very self sufficient hotel with approachable staff, good food and a very different outlook on how a hotel should be run.

A hospitalidade descrimina positivamente os estrangeiros. Desloquei-me do Porto especialmente para conhecer este projecto e ....direi....foi simpático. Jantei bem e a um preço justo.
