- Dtes (8/5): -
- Jean-Marie (7/5): - Manque de pression dans la douche. L’eau pas très chaude. La chambre un peu humide.
- Armando (10/5): The STAFF here treats you like family. They are all very sweet and genuine. - The property is small with less than 20 room which makes it very cozy and comfortable. The entire STAFF is amazing. They are so friendly and helpful. They really make you feel at home. I loved everything. If you need anything that they can accommodate, all you have to do is ask.
- Carla (7/5): -
- Manuel (4/5): - Habitación llenas de mosquitos
- dnic0ler (8/5): Great value for money spent - Let me start by saying if you're looking for a hotel with any sort of amenities, this is not the hotel for you. But if you're looking for a centrally located hotel that is clean with friendly and kind staff then you've found your spot!
Rooms: basic and dated but clean. Shower was great, hot with good water pressure. Towels and bottled water refreshed daily. Booked the suite with the plunge pool, didn't use plunge or main pool as they don't appear to have a filtration system, just skimmed on occasion.
Location: right in the middle of centro so a short walking distance to anything and everything. Quiet street with convenience store right around the corner, came in handy for snacks!
Overall: personally I would spend a little more next visit to Merida to have better amenities but I truly feel I got great value for money spent. Could not ask for better staff or location. Hotel could use a refresh from top to bottom, but despite obvious signs of age it's kept very clean - both rooms and grounds.
- Lizeth Mirely (9/5): -
- Montnach (7/5): - Emplacement Petit déjeuner nul
- Jesser (10/5): -
- Lloyd (5/5): The stay was disappointing. - Pleasant staff. Liked no noise from other guests. We liked the room layout that included the toilet in its own room. The pools did not have filtration system and had bugs and leaves constantly; hence not able to enjoy as often as would have liked. Handrails and chairs falling apart on 2nd floor deck with loose tiles. Room door not properly sealed and had a 1"x3" hole whereby critters can come in room. Pillows were not comfortable and options not provided. Towels were at a minimum i.e. no washcloths and were old. No pool towels. Breakfast didn't inspire a second visit.
- Michael (8/5): - Lovely place, big room, good location We rented a room with a plunge pool but they didn’t have the room available since it didn’t have AC. The shared pool was being serviced until the last day too. Lovely place otherwise, good breakfast.
- Andrea (7/5): -
- Rafael (3/5): - The location The private pool, which is clearly a big reason we rented it was dirty. We only spent one night so it really sucked not being able to use the pool.
- jorge cituk (9/5): -
- jorge cituk (9/5): -
- Aiden (10/5): Cozy and cute place - Very cute hotel, coloful and comfortable and in a great location not far at all from the center of Mérida.
- David (10/5): - The rooms are not the best.. but they are clean..
The roooms feel like they need some update..but for the price is ok..
the attention of the staff in the front desk is great and is quite a plus..
Surely will come back
- Lucia O (8/5): - The staff are very friendly, we fell very safe, I really recommend everything very close by walking!
- Daniel (8/5): - Good location in downtown gets the job done.
- jesus (8/5): - Good
- virgilio (2/5): - Checked into hotel and stayed one night next day power electricity and water sent out due to some ran, waited for a few hours but had to look for another hotel that had power and water, reauested refund thru expedia and hotel denied refund even though we still had 3 nights left which i ended paying at another hotel
- Brit (8/5): - this is a really beautiful hotel, especially if you upgrade to a junior suite with a pool. The staff was incredibly kind and hard-working.
My only real complaints were a steady stream of ants on the bathroom wall, and the door to my room and pool (outside door) did not lock or even shut properly.
But my room was secure and I would go again!
- Henrique (6/5): Pleasant -
- Maria (5/5): Passable - i DID NOT USE POOL NEITHER BRAKFAST THE BATHROOM WAS NO GOOD CLEAN. LOOKS LIKE BIG FUNGOS IN THE WASHBASIN
- Carla (10/5): - Location
- Kevin (6/5): - The place was fine, very good price for the stay. The offered breakfast and you could pay for an upgrade for just a few dollars.
- julianaevelynr (8/5): Good Value for money & good location - Good value for money, good concept has air conditioning, comfortable bed, clean, colorful and well located in the center of Merida. Good option for short trips, I would stay again.
In the center of Merida near restaurants, cafes and a few minutes from Paseo Montejo
- Karen Mora (8/5): - Overall it was a nice stay in Merida - the location is convenient for walking approximately 8 mins from plaza grande, auto progreso (public transportation), and many restaurants, bars, and stores were nearby as well. Ideal if you’ll be doing most of your stay by foot. The hotel itself was nice, the room was clean, AC worked well, and there were hot showers with great water pressure!
However, there was a sewage smell in our room for a few days coming from the shower drain probably or from outside (maintenance did pour some cleaner but it still stayed). The lights for the outside private pool didn’t work either, I did notify maintenance 2 times but still didn’t get fixed. Staff overall is okay and not the most friendliest.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Lots of tropical plants well kept, good housekeeping, attentive and friendly staff
- Louise (2/5): - This is the worst hotel ever. No communication with visitors. No refunds. No service. A total disappointment.
- Tom (7/5): Mediocre - Staff was kind, hotel has a central location, nice swimming pool. Breakfast was very limited. For eggs you need to pay an extra 85 pesos. Floors in the room were so dirty that my feet were black after walking in the room. There were stains on the sheets and humidity stains on the walls. Building is quite old.
- Chris (8/5): Comfortable stay - Our room was at the rear of the property and was very quiet. Spacious enough and plenty of storage. Short walk to the main square. Private plunge pool was a nice addition
Breakfast was ok, continental style but nice to have some fruit and yoghurt. Breakfast area was in the courtyard between all the rooms and staff began setting up at 6:30 so that might wake you early.
- Donna (7/5): Quiet, comfortable room , nice friendly staff. - Room with private small pool Upstairs without elevator, having to deal with luggage.
- Barbara (8/5): Great location - Staff was wonderful at breakfast
- lena (10/5): - The staff is a 5 star all the way. My room was everything I expected. The location is perfect walking distance to Centro, great restaurants, museums and nightly entertainment. I felt very safe as a solo female traveler
- Sara (7/5): Nice stay in the cEnter - Great location, a few minutes from restaurants/shops. The staff was welcome and kind. The room comfortable and spacious. Very Clean, the toiletries are really nice. The breakfast is very basic (fruits and bread).my friend came for breakfast just after me, and I didn’t finish my fruits, instead of giving a new plate, they just replated what I left, same for the break. I had croissant, my friend didn’t. I think each customer should have their own plate and basket.
The private pool/bath, it’s small. Expected something bigger and didn’t seem to be cleaned.
- Irma (10/5): - I love everything except the humidity smell in the room.
- Christopher (10/5): Clean and comfy - Clean and comfortable. The breakfast was of fruits, juice, toast and yoghurt was very good. Walking distance to the markets and restaurants nearby. Parking was just around the corner and very convenient
- Linda (1/5): Pictures Can and Do Lie - I liked the location and the staff at the hotel. The hotel is close to many restaurants, parks, and the central activities of the city. The door to the room was rotted, with holes in it that allowed light and excess heat to enter the room. The doorknob was a dangling mess. It was falling apart on both sides of the door. The air conditioner was dripping water into the room, creating puddles on the floor. The walls and ceiling looked like they had been repaired in the past, but whoever did it did a very poor job. The whole room, starting with the door, needs to be renovated. This room does not positively reflect the pictures shown of it online.
- stephen (10/5): Ideal hotel for exploring - A lovely hotel which was perfect for exploring Merida. Comfortable, spacious rooms, great wifi, lovely continental breakfast and great service throughout. I'd definitely stay here again.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven Mark (8/5): - Quaint. Nice. Nice staff
- Mona Irene (10/5): - The Art 57 Hotel hosted us for a 6 night stay in a junior suite with a pool.
The hotel is well appointed with comfortable bed and furnishings. The pool is a small plunge pool with no outdoor seating area. There is a large bathroom with plenty of hotwater and good water pressure.
The complimentary breakfast is basic with fresh fruit, yogurt, fresh orange juice, tea or coffee and a bread basket.
The only small complaint is the sound transfer from the dining and main pool area to our room. But guests were compliant with the 10 pm quiet rule. Also a small fridge would make a big difference to guests.
- Roberto (8/5): - Property was OK for the price but they aren't very flexible with their clients it's more of a them first then the customer.
- Robin (7/5): Good -
- Margiris (9/5): Superb -
Centro a solo 10 minutos caminando.
- Chee Sing (10/5): - Hotel is near thw city center.
- Alejandra (8/5): Good value / cost ratio - Very clean, great location, Staff was available and very helpful for directions and questions Shower does not have curtains or door and the floor on the whole bathroom gets damped
- Michael (4/5): Disappointing - Breakfast was ok, moved us to a nicer hotel when we had issues Many mosquitos in the room when we arrived.
Big yellow stains on the bedsheets, asked for them to be changed and they got replaced by other sheets stained with blood 😓. Towels were all stained as well.
- Kjell (10/5): - This is a quiet, clean, and friendly little boutique hotel. It has some unique character and charm. Pool is just for wading and cooling off, not swimming. AC works great. Breakfast is included and simple but enough to get your day started right. Easy walk to all main attractions in downtown area, but immediate area around hotel is old and unkempt to an extent. It was just right for our needs for a few days and we enjoyed our stay very much!
- Samantha (10/5): Staff was absolutely amazing and very helpful! We asked for extra amenities and help with navigating the city and they a - Property was private and very beautiful! They did not have a lot of rooms which is what i wanted, so you had a lot of privacy :) Everything was perfect! Loved absolutely everything
- Emily (10/5): Beautiful, relaxing, convenient location, excellent value - The room, private pool, and outdoor seating areas were exactly as pictured. The room was spacious with plenty of space to unpack, the A/C was nice and cold, and the TV had countless options. The outdoor seating area was so pleasant and relaxing with the beautiful blue, pink, and yellow paint and all the green plants. The location was very convenient (easy walking to many restaurants and sights). We arrived the night before Hurricane Beryl, and the hotel staff at the front desk gave us extremely detailed, helpful information about what to expect and how to prepare.
- Robert (5/5): Budget not boutique. - Good location. Room directly next to breakfast area, loud on a morning. Bread poor quality.
Pool didn't look like it had been cleaned for a long time, full of insects throughout out stay and stagnant water. Room generally quite dirty. Advertised as a suite but only one chair in the room, no outdoor furniture either to enjoy outdoor space. No fridge in room, very basic.
Hotel advertises laundry service online, yet were informed this is not a service they provide when we asked reception.
- Nick (10/5): - This is a really good hotel
- Gabriela (2/5): - The Pictures did not represent the hotel we booked. Inside the air conditioning had mold around it, the curtains had moth holes and when we closed the door, you can see it wasn’t aligned. Hotel in general did not look anything like the pictures. They must have use Photoshop because it needed a lot of work. I would not recommend it.
- Catherine (10/5): - This is a great place to stay. The staff are super helpful and friendly. Its clean and close to everything that you need.
- Michelle (8/5): - This was a great little hotel, with super helpful, friendly staff. Plunge pool was a nice respite from the afternoon heat. Breakfast was great. The only negative (and it would not keep me from staying again), is that you can hear everything due to the age, construction of the building and ventilation. Overall very happy with our stay.
- Cesar (10/5): - Very quiet place - I loved it
- vanessa (2/5): - The receptionist was incredibly rude and laughed at us when we explained the construction noise had become unbearable after three days we wanted one night refunded so we could go somewhere else; she pretended to call a manager then told me to contact my travel agency when my travel agency contacted her she would not provide her name or a way to get in touch with the manager - I have not asked for a manager in twelve years - this place needs to retrain their front desk staff before they lose customers - we will never return and we will not reccomend
- Kristen (10/5): - Just a few blocks from downtown, safe. Cute little place.
- Jesse (10/5): - had a great experience staying here while in merida. staff were very helpful and it’s a nice neighborhood with some very good restaurants
- Daniel (10/5): - Adults only, it was great 👍
- Sarah (6/5): Adequate budget 2 star option - Good location, large bed and clean room Tiny and dirty swimming pool, no sound insulation in the room, a/c right on top of bed so blasted in your face, breakfast was terrible
- Chris (7/5): Good - Big spacious room and shower. Good location and easy to get to places. Breakfast was tasty (basic continental). Friendly helpful staff. Colourful hotel. Even though the location in the city was busy it was quiet the night we were there. Sheets looked a bit threadbare. Card machine was broken so forced to pay in cash which we didn't want to do! Breakfast isn't very filling as basic continental (but lots of fruit and it was all very tasty). Pool very small, half and looked dirty - we did not use. Wasn't the cheapest for the quality provided (we stayed in better and cheaper in Merida).
- gisela (10/5): - Loved this place. Melissa from reception was so helpful and kind.
- Georgia (7/5): Good -
- Eirini-anna (7/5): Good - Very cute hotel near the city center, approx 10' walking. Nice staff. Very plain breakfast for the price that we arranged through booking. Very bad smell, probably from the cleaning products they use for the rooms. Although it wasn't the only hotel, in this particular one was really stronge the smell.
- David (8/5): Solid choice in central Merida - Unique layout with courtyards, small pool to beat the heat. Good location, only blocks to central restaurants. Walking distance to bus station. Simple, good breakfast with fruit, yogurt and toast. No ice for an afternoon cocktail.
- Dusan (9/5): Good stay - It was good stay - location is right, bed was comfortable, clean, staff was helpful, overall it met my expectations, good price/value ratio Very weak wifi in the room, breakfast are ok-ish but definitely can improve
- Ingrid (8/5): Great Staff - Comfortable bed, clean room, fantastic staff. About 4 blocks to Centro. Quiet location, air conditioner worked great. Lots of hot water and great water pressure .Lots of restaurants close by. Continental breakfast started you off for the day and coffee was good. A lot of ants in the bathroom need to close up the holes/spaces where they come in. The pool is very small, with no place to lounge. Toast was very dry.
- Ellen (9/5): Art 52 was a fantastic place to stay for exploring Merida. - Fantastic location for exploring the city. Staff was helpful and responsive. The reception staff spoke English which really helped with communication. No complaints. The hotel was great at this price point.
- Constance (6/5): It was adequate. - Breakfast was pleasant and I loved the toast. Unfortunately they ran out of toast mid stay. Concierge(s) were helpful and pleasant. Beds were comfortable. Quiet. Help with getting luggage up and downstairs could and should have been offered. TV operation was complicated. Disliked torn curtain. Pool was tiny. The first day of our stay they were out of bottled water. (We did get bottled water on subsequent days). Ran out of toast?!
- James (8/5): Very good - The room was very clean and spacious, the breakfast was excellent and the pool was clean and refreshing.
- Suzan (8/5): Very good -
- Tesse (8/5): Very good -
- Jill (8/5): Older, reasonably priced, clean, central hotel. - Continental breakfast was fine. Lots of coffee. Good service. Friendly helpful staff. Good central location to Centro.
- Z3468SSjamesn (8/5): Great stay! Nice Hotel - The staff was very friendly and helpful, front desk is open 24/7 and they got us a cab to arrive at 5:30 am, our room was very spacious and quiet (queen room at rear with small pool to lay in and cool off), the breakfast was very good with fresh fruit, toast, cereal, yogurt, and coffee. The location was perfect, close enough to central district to walk, but far enough away to be quiet. Not fancy, but plenty good enough, and perfect for us. We would definitely stay there again. Good vibes.
- Hannah (8/5): Budget friendly central stay - The room was absolutely massive and huge bed. Location was very central with everything a short walk away There was a lack of parking
- Cathrine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gidseg (6/5): A convenient hotel with a few shortcomings - The staff was lovely. They were courteous and helpful. The room was clean and spacious enough. The bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast was exactly the same each day of our stay. A cup of yogurt some cut fruit and the kind of toasted bread the comes in a package. In my opinion just switching the toast to a real bread would have made the breakfast more pleasant. We were not expecting a full breakfast, but it still needed something to make it enjoyable. Our other issue was that the common areas in the hotel were not well cleaned. The rooms were well cared for, but some attention should be given to the common spaces.
- Teresa (9/5): Great stay in Merida - Suite with private pool is great - large, quiet and clean. The hotel and general facilities are also good, and location is central within walking distance of all the main attractions. Staff were lovely - they even looked after our bags a couple of extra days. Private parking nearby at extra cost. The breakfast service is quite basic, but good nonetheless.
- Marty (9/5): Great place to escape the all inclusive crowd. I would stay at Art57 again. - Almost everything was as much as we could ask for in a mid-priced hotel. All staff were kind and effective. All of the hotel was clean and functioning well. Our room was great (we opted for one with a plunge pool - which we really enjoyed on late afternoons). The bed was king sized and was comfortable. Screens on all the windows which allowed us to get fresh air without letting in mosquitoes etc. A/C worked well and we had a ceiling fan which allowed us to minimize the energy consumption and not use the A/C as much. The location was perfect for us as it was just far enough away from any bars or the busy area of Merida, that it was quiet at night. But it's only a 2 block walk until you start to get into the thick of the Centro district. We also booked a very reasonably priced tour to Uxmal, Kabah, and cenote Peba. They picked us up and dropped us back off at the hotel. Not much of anything to complain about. The only small thing that I would suggest is that for the small breakfast they get some other type of bread (pan) that the completely crispy "toasted bread" that they bring out. It's like European crisp breads and most guests just smile at each other as we try to crunch through it. Really that's it. It was great value and a great location.
- Paul (6/5): Pleasant -
- Arina (8/5): Nice hotel! - Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful second floor of the hotel. Located 10 minutes away from the main square. Breakfast was simple but nice - coffee, juice, bread, fruit and yoghurt. In general located in a quiet area of the city. The room that has windows facing the street can be a bit noisy.
