Guest Reviews
- Wallace (8/5): - The staff is awesome. I love the location and the restaurant is very good
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This property is under excellent management and "good" condition physically. I stayed in a superior family room; one bedroom and a large livingroom for 4 nights. Each room has modern air conditioning units, but substandard 32 inch televisions (old style media reader that won't read USBs or HDs for movies. Main bedroom TV, cannot get to HDMI for laptop setup, but the living room TV HDMI is a little easier. I ended up having to sleep on the foldout sofa in the living room some times.
Originally, was put in a twin bedroom, not remodeled yet, paid for the upgrade straight away!
Loved the room and staff,
Andrei C. Davis
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff was very helpful for everything I needed. Sometimes I had to wait a long time because not all staff members spoke English. The first room they gave me was not the type I booked - I booked 1 large bed, but was in a room with 2 single beds. They were able to change it the next day. The place is old and looks out of day - could use some updating.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff is awesome. Great breakfast and quick check in. The bar is kool and it's a safe excellent location
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The lobby is elegant and the staff is awesome. They speak English and are very friendly.
- Rodrigo (2/5): - The property refused to accept the fee from Expedia as it included my loyalty points causing great inconvenience. My disappointment is shared between the property and Expedia that have not responded after two days neither refund the points to my account. Thankfully there is no shortage of sites to book hotels.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was my third time in 4 years staying at the hotel. It has gotten better with each visit. I will be going back next year.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - the location is very good; very close to the beach, restaurants, bars, discos and tram that goes to the railway station. The hotel is also clean.
The biggest disadvantage were Turkish people who did not let me sleep two nights - I am regular guest in this hotel ( third time) and always the same problem with Turkish people. The staff are also not very worried about their behavior - very passive. I am not sure if I book the hotel once again - I will book rather an individual apartment
Trenger oppussing!
- Hanifi (2/5): Personel çok kaba - Personel kaba, lobi barda çalışan nicolas ve resepsiyon şefi alexandra çok kaba yazıcıdan öıktı bile almama izin vermedi. Öyle otele o personel yakışmıyor. Bidaha kesinlikle tavsiye etmeyeceğim.
- M cem (4/5): - Odalara su bile biz istemeden gelmedi
- Aziz (4/5): Old style ussr otel - Location is perfect but furnitures are quite old.Breakfast is very poor.No free water in hotel.
- Oxana (8/5): Nice budget hotel near Arcadia area and beach side - Helpfull staff. Very warm room (I was staying in December) for a winter in Odessa. Breakfast average. Room quite confortable, clean. Some difficulties to use the safe (blocked) and fridge (not cooling), but the staff was very kind to help with. Quik check-in and check-out. Very good Wifi. Hotel is far from city center, but with very good & cheap tramway connection (walking distance to public transport station). Big mall just at corner (Silpo, Le Silpo). Very good price overall!
- RJGolany (8/5): - The choice to stay at the OK Odessa Hotel was a good one. The staff were kind and considerate and fulfilled my request in all catagories. I will strongly consider staying here again. The hotel is located in a great place, close to Arcadia (which is the entrance down to the Black Sea) At Arcadia there are many shopping opportunities, food, clothing, specialty shops. There are attractions for the children and adults alike. Access to the Black Sea is simple and easy and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Non professional hotel - Order double bed wanted to give me twin beds arguing with them for 20 min in the end gave me room with a wet ceiling in the bathroom, elevator doesn't work.
- Itay (4/5): - Stayed in a Junior suite. cockroaches in the room, carpets are stained and dirty. housekeeping every 3 days and the toilet bowl was not fixed to the floor.
Great location for Arcadia beach, but thats pretty much it.
If thats how a suite looks like, i'd hate to think how a regular room looks like
- Scott_from_Utah (6/5): Nice Facility, Poor Service - I rented a Standard Double Room for one week. It was spacious, but the bed was not a double but two twin mattresses. The decor was contemporary without evidence of wear. I had plenty of hot water and amenities.
Only two members of the staff speak good English. I called for laundry service and the woman was at my door for the laundry within five minutes. The second time, it took two days and three requests.
My first night there, a group had rented the kitchen out and neither dinner nor room service was available. I felt this was very unprofessional and discriminatory to the rest of the customers.
When I ordered room service, the first woman responded, "I do not speak English." and stayed on the line as if I would magically start speaking Russian. I had to ask "Can you please get someone that speaks English?" The next woman that answered did not either, set the phone down and walked away. I sat there for ten minutes listening to people talk in the background, then hung up and called the front desk. I called three times over 20 minutes without response.
The staff often had nothing to do but stand around and talk to each other. What was discomforting was when they would stare impolitely at guests as they sit or walk through the lobby.
I was told when I checked in I could put meals on my room account and pay when I checked out. The first time I got breakfast, they made me pay cash.
I had a friend come visit and was treated very rudely but the front desk staff.
- Eugene (6/5): Worth the money, but far from perfect. - I stayed at OK Odessa 3 weeks. The room was air conditioned and had a refrigerator. For about 10 days the air conditioner did not work. In the entire hotel for several days there was no air conditioning. This is Ukraine.
There were many guests from Turkey. These guests made a lot of noise even in the hours between 11 AM and 6 AM. They would shout and slam doors. I complained to hotel security, but the noise persisted.
The hotel is a 10-minute walk to the entrance to Arcadia Beach. This is one of the best features of the hotel. The hotel is right next to Gagarin Plaza which has excellent shopping, a modern supermarket and an excellent restaurant.
For $5 the hotel serves a breakfast buffet. The buffet is not what you would get at a 5-star hotel, but it was definitely worth the $5.
For a low-priced hotel, I thought that the overall package was a good deal. I have seen much worse in Ukraine.
- baris (4/5): Never again! - Very rude cleaning staff, delayed checkin. cockroaches in the room. room is too much claustrophobic. no balcony, no sitting place. the only good thing about this experience was the location of the hotel. very close to Arcadia. I will not stay here again for sure.
- Verified traveler (10/5): All good - i payed 12 bucks for a clean room with Wifi , excellent bed and shower right next to the Arkadia center. No complaints
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I was disappointed they did not clean the room more then twice in a week. Other then that the staff was good
- NickKk (8/5): Hotel is OK. For that price its a good place. - Nice budget hotel. if toy just need to sleep one or two nights hotel is ok. Nothing special.
- Michael (10/5): - Good
- Alwyn (6/5): I LIked the Location for the Summer Season... - ...this is a normal 3 star hotel..he main advantage is the location, near beach, evening entertainment...
- traveller (2/5): horrible noisy dirty - Horrible noisy dirty old. So loud and uncomfortable we couldn't even sleep. Like people talking and walking outside felt like they are in the middle of our room.
- Olga (10/5): - We love it.
- Chris (10/5): Nice hotel 1 kilometer from the beach - As for the hotel itself, it is fine. It is very clean and the room I was in was spacious. It had two twin beds put together to be a queen size, but that was okay. It was a tad uncomfortable at times, but fine. There was only the BBC for an English station though and the air conditioner worked well. I stayed 3 days.
The hotel is roughly a half mile from the Black Sea. To get there, you must walk through Arcadia, which is basically a huge kilometer long boardwalk. There are many restaurants, small arcade games, small roller coaster, a water park and discos before getting to the beach. This area is very well developed, all concrete, and modern. It is the Black Sea however, not an ocean, so there were no waves at all and the water was a little mossy. There are open swimming pools and hundreds of sun chairs (for a fee), so that takes care of going into the sea.
As for the city center, it is at least a 5 mile drive. There are trams and buses in front of the hotel and the Arcadia, so the cost is small to get into the city, which means 5 grivna. A taxi will cost around 80-100 grivna.
The only reason to stay here and not the city center is if being close to Arcadia and kind of close to the sea are important. You cannot see the sea from this hotel, as there are other hotels and hills blocking the view.
It is a good hotel and very bright and airy though. It is on top of a small hill from the road, so it cannot be seen readily. You do have to look for it.
- Pete (4/5): Close to the beach - Sometimes they made my bed sometimes they didn't. Laundry service was terrible. Refrigerator was never restocked. I made a mistake and booked one day to many. They refused to reimburse me for the day I wouldn't be there. Electric power went out twice so I guess the had no generator.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Not bad. - Very close to Arcadia pedestrian zone. Bars, restaurants and Nightlife. Room is small and very basic, but clean. Nic location.
- Ohad (10/5): - Perfect location, 3 minutes from the gate of Arcadia beach, so that it's very close but still very quiet.
- William (10/5): Great Value - Great value for the money. Tanya was very helpful and attentive. Good staff/service.
- William (8/5): Comfortable, Great Price - Great hotel with attentive staff. Book online to save on exchange rate. This hotel will honor the Hotels.com booking without telling you that they are booked up for that type of room and you have to pay more for another. Also, this hotel is post-Soviet era and actually has three electrical outlets in room and one in bathroom. Shower is tiny, but is not designed so that you bump into the temperature handle every time you turn around. Breakfast is not included, but is inexpensive and has a great selection of food. Great hotel.
- William (8/5): Great Hotel for the Price - Excellent value, post-Soviet Era building, tiny bathroom, great overall
- David (6/5): Good deal, great location. - Older hotel with fairly recent renovation. Very close to the new Arcadia Plaza.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Recently visited hotel and left extremely unsatisfied. Our hotel room was so small that we had 5 inches to pass by closet and bed.
Everything in the room was broken: TV, lights, shower and wifi. Wifi didn't work at all. After numerous attempts to inform reception about it, we received just promises to check on it. Absolutely no action.
Also keep in mind that access to the hotel is by external staircase only approximately 3 stories high.
I would not recommend the hotel to anybody.
- Dan (6/5): OK Odessa is truly OK! - Located relatively close to the entrance for Arcadia Beach, this is a reasonably priced basic and clean hotel with small rooms (at least the twin rooms).
Simply stated: price and location are the reasons to stay here. Luxury, a welcoming staff, tasty food in the restaurant, and competent daily housekeeping are NOT reasons to consider this hotel.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Hotel is only a 5 minute walk to Arcadia beach - On the first night of arrival the receptionist said she couldn't locate my booking on her system but gave us a 'twin room' instead of a 'double bed' room which I had booked and said that the 'Director' of the hotel would resolve our booking and room the next morning. At 11 am the next morning with no sign of the 'Director' I went to the reception to confirm my booking but a new receptionist said 'wait one hour' whilst our central office resolve the issue. I waited an hour and was then told 'wait another 20 minutes' I wanted to go to the beach but without any confirmation of my booking and a twin room rather than a double I thought it best to stay and clarify and confirm our booking and room. After another hour I was finally given confirmation and a new key for a double room. I found the attitude of the two women working at the reception whilst I was trying to confirm my booking to be unhelpful, indignant and basically down right rude! It seemed like they were constantly trying to ignore and 'fob me off' like I was doing something wrong
- Silvia (6/5): Nice location near Arcadia beach - The hotel is upper-mid class in terms of cleanness and staff, however it is located very close to Arcadia beach and there is a large parking lot in front of it which is very convenient when you travel with a car.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Ocenka2 - Bad service
- ahmet (10/5): ok odessa was totally ok - I didn't expect such a good hotel for this price. It was better and a little cheaper than another hotel I stayed in the same area before. It is very clean and comfortable.
