- Jean (2/5): - I had an incredibly disappointing and unpleasant experience at this hotel and feel compelled to share my stay or rather, lack thereof. Upon arrival late at night, I encountered a member of the front desk staff who was not only unhelpful but downright rude. I had a guest with me, and instead of handling the situation with professionalism, the staff member abruptly told me I wasn’t allowed to have guests and threatened to call the police unless I left the premises immediately. I was shocked and deeply embarrassed by this treatment, especially considering I had already paid for the room. In an attempt to resolve the situation peacefully, I asked to speak to a manager or to change rooms, but my requests were dismissed without consideration. The aggressive tone and behavior of the night staff left me feeling unsafe and unwelcome, forcing me to leave the hotel altogether. Additionally, the room itself—what little time I spent in it—was far below expectations. It was extremely small and reeked of cigarette smoke, despite being advertised as non-smoking. The odor was so strong it was unbearable, making the room completely uninhabitable. Given that I was unable to stay the night due to the staff’s conduct and the poor condition of the room, I am requesting a full refund. I believe this is a fair and justified request given the circumstances. I would strongly urge management to address the behavior of their night staff and to ensure their rooms are properly maintained and advertise

- Aline (2/5): - I can confidently say is the worst place I've ever stayed, I’m 5’3 and could barely move around the room, my carry on suitcase couldn’t fit open on the floor. The room was dirty, with visible stains on the walls. The furniture was falling apart , and the bed had seen better days. the room was also incredibly noisy. I could hear every sound from the hallway and neighboring rooms, which made it nearly impossible to get any rest. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. It was a truly unpleasant experience and I will never stay there again. Plus if you make a reservation to pay at the property forget about they will charge you card ask as soon as they get a chance. I made a reservation for two nights and left in the morning couldn’t stay for another night and of course didn’t get a refund.
- Katherine (6/5): - It is right next to the subway so it is very accesible. They have 24hr reception which was also great The staff was great as well. The bad parts: the room was stuffy and had a humid smell to it, the ac didn’t work and my little brother got trapped in the bathroom. The door doesn’t have a lock so we think it had something to do with the door not being properly installed. If you are looking for something a little more budget friendly but in a great, accessible location this place isn’t the worst but if you have more flexibility on budget I wouldn’t stay here

The accommodations met our needs, provided comfort and security. The facilities were clean and as advertised thank you for your hospitality.

- Melissa (6/5): Probably wouldn't recommend - Close to the action. But close to the action can mean lots of middle of the night noise. The door to balcony allowed a lot of noise to filter in as did the door into the room. The room was close to the lobby which meant we heard every guest come and go including late in evening and early in the morning. Sleep did not happen. The room wasn't equipped with great electric options, A/C had to be requested. The bed linens were very scratchy. It is a small entrance from the road and could easily be missed.

- Tanya (8/5): - Hostal Palermo was very well located right in the middle of Las Ramblas. Easy to find and staff friendly. I stayed in a single room which was pretty small, but it was clean and had a door that opened onto the street. Noisy at night, but I had no problem with that as was expecting this in this area of the city. I walked everywhere, to all the attractions and parks and did not need public transport. Everywhere was within an hour and a half walk away. Lots of restaurants, bars and shops and the lovely food market just a couple of minutes away! My only criticism was there was no water for a shower on my final day, and the person on reception was busy and of course I was then dressed and ready to leave, so I had to pay to go to a public swimming pool which was frustrating as I wanted to shower before my flight home.

- Lynda (10/5): Great place to stay, very central - To be honest I wasn’t expecting too much, it was only a one star hotel and at an extremely good price, but we only needed a bed for the night so I went ahead and booked. We had a really pleasant surprise - The hotel is situated in an ideal area, just off La Rambla, so plenty of choices of places to eat and great for the atmosphere in the evening and the market for breakfast in the morning. When we arrived, we were given a very friendly welcome and given lots of tourist advice and then were given a choice of rooms - 2 singles of a double. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and very quiet, which considering the central position was another pleasant surprise. The room had everything we needed - TV, WiFi, toiletries, beautifully white towels, a hairdryer, lots of power points, a safe, and the view from the window was of an orange tree, full of fruit. There were hot & cold drink machines in a seating area, and the reception desk was manned 24hrs. If you’re not looking for luxury, just somewhere safe and clean to sleep I fully recommend the Palermo

The room was clean and made up (not done at SR) we had 2 chairs (1 at SR), Darius was welcoming and helpful whenwe arrived, gave good advice about the area. Yes, the room was small but to be in the heart of Las Rambla and still so quiet.

- Sandra (10/5): Good rooms with amazing service - We went to Hotel Palermo just for a quick one night visit. Our room was fine, the room and beds were clean. What impressed the most was the service. The gentleman greeted us outside and helped us carry our heavy suitcases up the stairs. They helped us with making a 3:30 am taxi in the morning and also have us advice for where to go for food and entertainment. The area also seems safe and fun. Highly recommended
- Sohail (8/5): In the heart of Rambla - Excellent location in the heart of Rambla. Walking distance to Liceu metro station. Hotel was clean. Very small lobby and stairways. The elevator starts one level up so you have to carry your luggage on floor up. They do not have breakfast but lots of places to eat nearby. Very safe location.

- Kim Edward (8/5): Convenient location to metro - My first impression was not good as my room didn't have a window. Well only a small window in the shower which gave a little light to the room. This was my most expensive hotel on a budget trip across Europe Inc London and Paris. The manager did switch me to a windowed room after a couple of nights. Quiet air conditioning and modern decor made it more pleasant. Otherwise a great location off the Rambla if not a little noisy. Steps up to the first floor and then an elevator to upper floors,

Todo funciono bien. Negativo: El aire acondicionado tiene un valor aparte, o sea si ya huciste tu reservacion y quieres tener aire acondicionado debes pagar un valor aparte para que puedan darte el control remoto y poder encenderlo. Nunca habia visto algo asi en ningun hotel. Es un lugar pequeño, con habitaciones pequeñas para el precio pero es comprensible que la ubicacion es lo que estas pagando. Para estadias cortas de turismo tipo 3 noches mas o menos esta bien.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - Our main complaint is that the ad said there was a parking lot nearby with a rate of 10 Euros per day. There isn’t. They sent us to a lot that was about 20 minutes away which turned out to be 25 Euros per day. I subsequently found one just across Las Ramblas that was 23 Euros per day. That might be the best you can find in the area. I saw rates as high as $48,50 per day. Other than that the place was fine and very convenient. We were comfortable. It was quiet. The wifi was decent. Everything was clean except the bathroom fan/vent.
- Ramona (8/5): Happy with my stay - It was a good enough stay. I like the hotel. My room was very small, but clean. I had the private room and private bath. The only thing negative about it is, it’s loud at night because it’s very close to Las Ramblas street, but The place is very clean. FYI there is no elevator and the stairs are very narrow, single direction staircase, but I only had hand carry so it wasn’t a problem. I would go back to this hotel.

Rooms are not at all like in the picture and the bathroom is not clean. 2.Staff was Rude so impolite, there was no elevator and i had to care alone upstairs all luggages. 3.I had to use kitchen they didn't allow and an old men from the hostel staff started to yell at me. 4.There was workers around repairing and making noise and even teasing with me i felt horrible. 5.Heater didn't work i got sick because it was cold. 6. Didn't felt Safety, they didn't allow me to keep thr key when i go out, so it was a must to leave to the hotel :(. 7.The only good thing is the location but Uber charged me more becayse it was very hard to find the hostel just one tiny door.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Horrible Service - When I first approached the front desk, they were not friendly. I am Deaf and I use paper and pen as my primary mode of communication when it comes to talking to people who works at hostels / hotels. When I arrived, I asked them to communicate with me using a paper and pen. After struggling to get them to write for several minutes (they were speaking to me the entire time), they finally wrote back and forth. When I got to my room, I found several strands of long hair under my sheets and several dried boogers. The toilet seat was very woobly and the wifi isn't working well on the third floor. The workers were extremely rude. They were on their phones every single time I tried to approach their desk. Everything about it was terrible. Do not book this hostel.

- Ian (8/5): Fantastic Location - Fantastic location. We were in Barcelona for the tennis tournament and it was great to return on the Saturday night to the buzzing heart of it all. The hotel is compact but clean and functional. Yes, it was noisy and I was woken occasionally up to 6am on the Sunday morning with late night/early morning revellers outside bit we knew what we were signing up for. I would happily book Hostal Palermo again.

- Pak Wo (4/5): Relativeiy inexpensive hotel in Barcelona - Location is excellent. Everything about the hostel is reasonabiy good. The oniy complaint is that it has no lift. It's difficult to take the luggages up 3 floors. The other thing is that the restaurant could be guite noisy at night.

- Christine (10/5): Great Budget Accommodation - We loved our 3 night's stay at Hostal Palermo. The rooms although basic, were clean and comfortable and the staff (who speak English) were friendly and very helpful. We also enjoyed having a strong Wifi signal! The hostal is in a great location and it was a great base for sightseeing and with easy access to the metro, taxis and buses. The hostal staff provided us with very helpful maps which showed the locations of all the best places to see in Barcelona. We look forward to a return visit.

The only issue is the stairs with luggage and bathrooms was down the hall from the room. But for the price and the convenience it was worth it.
