Guest Reviews
- alex (8/5): - Luggage storage
- Maggie (2/5): Not recommend - My room layout was very bad, two beds on different side. The bathroom was very tiny, not easy close the door, next my room. the tenant always go in and out many times, each hour over five times and he closed the very noisy ,the disturbed until 4:00am.I have complained to the front desk, but the guy no responded.I dont recommend to live this hotel!
- Chun man (2/5): - Poor service and change 2 times of the room , it is terrible and small here and the equipment is too old and not clean ,water is bleeding out to the bed area form the bathroom
- sarah (2/5): - Room is super small n couldn’t fit in our luggage’s. Bathroom is very small n the shower place is using curtain n stick to skin while taking shower. This is not qualify as hotel and not for western visitors at all. Mildew around n not being maintained in shape. The only reason why we stay on the whole trip is the staffing, all people are very friendly n they are very nice n helpful. Just let everyone know that those pictures are scam. Please review this so-called hotel again n don’t let people have been trapped again. Tks for you attention
- Michael (6/5): - Pretty small and cramped. Saw some bugs
- Jesse (8/5): - The size of the room and bathroom were quite small. It was clean, although quite outdated.
The main problem was people smoking in non-smoking rooms, triggering the smoke alarm on a few occasions, and the hotel staff doing nothing about it. Also, you could smell cigarettes in the common areas.
Apart from that, due to the great location, close to metro station and walkable distance to Mong Kok, it was great value for the price.
- Benjamin (4/5): Poor - Room small and very uncomfortable staff is not that friendly
- Oi Ching (6/5): The room was a bit small but clean. - The hotel room was a bit too small, especially the shower was 3 x 3.5ft so could hardly turn round in there. The safe wasn’t always locking, so they moved us to another room which was a better size. Although the room was clean we can’t expect too much for the price. Train station five min walk away. Also a local 7/11 and Wellcome store one minute walk away.
- Paul Franklin (6/5): - Good: Cheap, basic. No nonsense.
Bad: Noisy, flimsy walls mean I could hear people talking in the next room. Some other guests were selfish and rude and shouted on the phone at 2 am, waking me up.
All in all, it's not a bad place - if you want cheap.
- Sachin (8/5): - ok
- Vivian (8/5): - The location is quite good.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Some one smoke in hotel
- Verified traveler (8/5): - VERY CENTRAL CLOSE TO EATERIES AND TRANSPORTATIONS
- Verified traveler (8/5): - the staff is very friendly. The location is excellent, but the room is just small. You get what you paid for.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - THE STAFF NO GOOD, GIVE BAD ROOM, WHEN ASK, YOU GET RATE CHEAPER, BUT THAT IS INTEREST RATE, NO MY MISTAKE,
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Do not buy Expedia hotel booking protection! This is a scam since the hotel and Expedia did not honor the protection to cancel the hotel as promised.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It is clean and the location is convenient but the room is too small.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - location is good, one of the managers is very rude
- Haikal (6/5): - Nil
- Verified traveler (10/5): - GREAT service
the room is a bit small for 2 adults and a kids.
yet, overall was great experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Rooms are tiny but my stay was very comfortable. Many delicious eating options and the metro within a short walk. Staff were very helpful and small details like every room having a travel adapter for the power were much appreciated.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Reasonable for the price. - It is reasonable at this price. The room is quite small, but it’s a least clean and tidy. Through the window we can see the neighboring flats, so the curtain was always closed.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - A bit far frim the station. no view from the hotel.
- TaipeiF (6/5): - Good- close to major hubs
X- shower extra small
Good for a quick overnight stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location, reasonable price, friendly staff, quiet neighbourhood..!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The bed room smells a lot of cigarettes smoke
People also smoking in the hallway
- Verified traveler (8/5): - OK for the price. Room has trace of cigarette smoke smells.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cheap hotel with small rooms. - The Single room is very small, but not about 50 sq ft, including the shower room and toilet. Service is good and so are local shops. It is economical and you get what you pay for.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It's a small hotel around residential estate. Walking distance from Prince Edward MTR Station.
- Chiu (8/5): - nice and simple hotel.
- Samuel (2/5): - The room stinks and window can't be opened. Air conditioning too cold and can't be adjusted.
- Andreas (6/5): OK for 2 nights single stay. - Rather tight room and bath. Silent. Price not matching overall quality.
- Kin (2/5): - Bathroom is too small, cannot move at all. the shower cover is no effective, water is everywhere inside the restroom. The bathroom is very small and cramped. I will not live in the hotel ever again.
- Adam J Wolf (6/5): Airplane sized bathroom. - The shower is so small I could barely fit into it. Think of the bathroom on an airplane. Other than that, it was an ok hotel in an ok location. It was definitely way over priced for what I got.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room and bathroom is very, very small. The room is so small that i can only take 3 small steps in the room. The pictures of the Landers hotel room shown in the Expedia website i
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Tiny room, three single beds instead of double and a single, only two towels - room smelled of cigarettes on non smoking floor. Staff unwilling to listen to complaints. Asked for cash deposit on check in, would not take credit card. Definitely not recommended.
- Joseph (8/5): Great location - Very attentive welcoming staff
- koza
koza (4/5): - i check in after 16 hour flight and all day of work to take shower with cold water do to not having hat water
- Verified traveler (6/5): size of room - the room is so small and the bathroom can hardly fit two people at the same time. very noisy when people talking next door. Location is good though, just a few minutes walk to Metro and transport. Can't expect much at this price though.
- Mune (6/5): - Just 10 minutes from the nearest station. Price is reasonable.
- Robert (6/5): Drab area and room - Just be aware the double room booking gives you small dark room with small Window and incredibly small bathroom..
And the location drab and dreary
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location is within 10 minutes walking distance from nearby MTR station. Price can be said to be reasonable as it should be regarded as budget hotel. Very suitable for short stay.
- Raymond (8/5): - Refer receptionist so far so good
- Chun man (8/5): Good location and friendly stuff - The single room is super small. But what can you expect in Hong Kong? I have a tough time opening up my luggage. Other than that, everything is good for the money
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good staff and the hotel is somewhat in a good loc - I was told the 9th floor (the top floor), where I stayed, was a non-smoking floor. But, the hallways and my room smelled smoke when I checked in. I reported it to the Receptionist who wasn't really surprised and didn't seem to care. This is a health hazard.
- Verified traveler (6/5): It’s okay - First, Hong Kong is limited on area. So, don’t be surprised that yhis hotel’s rooms are cramped. The quality is old and needs renovation, but you get what you pay for. I was upgraded, but my room was still cramped and my shower was especially cramped. As a suggestion, they need to replace their curtains with ones with weighted bottoms as it constantly stuck to my body during showers. Overall cleanliness needs to be improved because my curtains were dirty and the carpet was stained and gritty. No complimentary water, which is weird because I’ve never seen that from a hotel. Although, it was ok because I just bought some. My fridge didn’t exactly work. The neighborhood is sketchier than other neighborhoods, but that wasn’t bad. No nightlife in the area, so you will want to go to Mongkok station for liveliness. Good thing is that there’s laundry downstairs for those who plan on staying longer. The staff is nice, especially the maids. Overall, would stay here than most airb&b in Hong Kong. However, definitely better options for the price of you can get a deal
- Verified traveler (8/5): Quaint town location - I got this less than a week in advance, dirt-cheap price for this value. The worst about this place was its failure to address adequately tobacco-related problems. The immediate surroundings give you a quaint town-like ambience, within reasonable distance from two of the centres of this city's action. The rooms are tiny but you have been forewarned in this webside about it. The staff is dealing with customers in a professional manner, as observed from other customers checking in.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good service - The people who works in the lobby are very friendly y collaborate
The same with the cleaning service staff
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Not very convenient and the hotel is old and is time to refurbish
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hi Bed BUGS! Urghhhhh - Well, first of all, they should really pay attention to the people they are speaking to - if I look Asian doesn’t mean that I speak Mandarin, actually Mandarin is not even the first language in Hong Kong! Maybe the front desk staff got some numb at her job, but this is not the kind of attitude we are looking for at a “hotel”.
Rooms are small. Come on it’s Hong Kong! So that is okay for us. But there’s one thing that quite got me - BED BUGS! I have gotten quite tired after our long trip, so I decided to stayed at the hotel and take a nap, didn’t take me long to get myself extremely itchy. This was NOT what I expected.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Small but clean.
Especially it is good for couple and 1 child together because there is one extra bed in addition to double bed.
- Sabrina (8/5): Decent Hong Kong hotel for budget travellers - The hotel was decent. The service was satisfactory from beginning to end. The room was tiny, but functional. The hotel doesn’t have much in the way of amenities, but is very conveniently located. The Wi-fi connection was iffy. Overall, the experience was adequate. If you’re traveling on a budget and want to get around rather easily and have an adventure, this is a safe choice (no bedbugs or scary people, no cigarette smoke or bad odors). If you want luxury and plenty of amenities, look elsewhere.
- Verified traveler (8/5): So far so good - Toilet and shower place are too small
Room number plate is not sharp enough to find
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The cleaning staff is super friendly, warm greetings every morning and enjoy talking to her. Hope the front desk staff can learn from her.
- David (8/5): Surprisingly Reasonable - First time staying in this area. Reasonable hotel in what feels like an everyday livable neighborhood of Hong Kong.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Staff was not friendly. Tried to over charge me for water.
- Vinit (2/5): Worse place ever - Rubbish place
- DMK (6/5): Ok for price - I tried to get in touch with the hotel via expedia twice before my trip, I could see that they had read my messages but no answer. No acknowledgement of my requests when I checked in. Not all that accommodating for families (which is what my messages were about)
- Steve (2/5): Lander Hotel Prince Edward in Kowloon, Hong Kong - A totally shocking hotel in almost every aspects!!!
The entire room was very unclean. The bathroom was microscopic. Can't prevent my body touching the walls and curtain of the shower despite the best of my efforts. Cigarette smoke smell penetrated and permeated through the entire room. Anyone with chronic respiratory or asthma problems will not be able to stay in that room for more than 2 minutes.
- None (4/5): Super Tiny and crowd room - .Super Tiny and crowd room ;
Wifi doesn't working for full stay period.
Far away from Subway Station.
- Cindy (4/5): - Staff is not friendly. They don't even greet guests or smile. Hallway smells like smoke. Room is extremely small, especially the bathroom. It is very hard to move around and shower.
- Jeng Way Tennant (8/5): - Sizable room as expected of Hong Kong. Clean. Accessible.
- Charles (4/5): - Day time front desk very rude
- Verified traveler (2/5): Will never stay here - Shower room is kiddingly small.....No way to shower without the shower curtain sticking to your body even for a skinny woman like me. Dusty from the start as my roommate kept sniffing on breathing into dust when she took out the napkin box shortly on arrival. Housekeeping service is mean as we have to ask for a roll of toilet paper once, and only two boxes if napkins are provided over 20 days for two people. Room is small &my special request for two beds denied on check in
- Jeff (6/5): Glad my stay was short - Rooms was very small. They covered up a hole in the ceiling bathroom with what looks like tape. The bed sheets had stains on it so I ended up sleeping on one half of the blanket with the other half folded over to cover me. The bathroom has almost no room to maneuver. To put it in perspective, if you are sitting on the toilet and bend over to pick something up off the floor, your forehead would hit the sink. If you tried to bend over to wash your feet in the shower, you back and butt will hit the wall. For the amount they were charging (~200 hkd), i would have expected more.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cramped but good location - Very very small room. Could hardly fit my 2 luggages in the room! Nowhere to hang clothes either. Good job it was in a good location. Okay place to stay for a few days but not for the full holiday.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Small but value for money - Rooms are very small, bathroom is even smaller. A larger person may struggle to get into the shower. The hotel is clean and basic, 5-10 min walk to nearest MTR station Prince Edward. The neighbourhood isn't very appealing, but handy for Mong Kok.
- Roman (8/5): Door security - The front door of the room 201 which I stayed could not be locked properly.
It could be opened from outside without a room key
- CS (6/5): OK for short overnight stay - The rooms are quite small but this seems to be the norm in Asia.
It was ok for an overnight to two night stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): OK for short overnight stay - The rooms are quite small but this seems to be the norm in Asia.
It was ok for an overnight to two night stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Awesome location, but that's about it - Room is clean and centrally located to train, shops and restaurants. Room and halls smelled badly of smoke. The bathroom was very small and you could barely close door when on toilet. Outdated furniture and extremely overpriced for the stay. Construction outside of hotel made it very noisy, along with paper thin walls where you could hear everything. No sleep, and uncomfortable stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Bad
- E.T. (8/5): Clean hotel close to MTR. - Friendly and helpful staff, clean bedding and bathroom.Excellent location close to MTR and bus stop.Easy to get to all shops. But the room design is not very functional for me.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel. - Room is small, typical in HK, but nicely arrange. I will stay again if price is good.
- Jennifer (10/5): Clean and comfy hotel - Comfy bed, hot shower, 10 minute walk to subway. Quite a ways north of the action, but subway is easy. Friendly staff who helped as they could, as communication was a struggle. Room was a shoebox, as is normal in HK and hallways/stairwells smelled of smoke, but room did not.
- Maria (4/5): I wouldn't recommend this hotel - Room is too small and staff not very friendly.
When I asked them how I can get bigger size taxi. She just gave me a phone number to call instead of offering to call for me.
- Hau Yan (4/5): Nothing great at all. - Just a bed to rest in a very small room
- Jinghua (4/5): Room size too small - Not so good!
The room size is too small
- Si Qin 108 (4/5): room size unfit for guests, its an insult. - - i was alloted room 309, room size is less than 50 sq ft. with the room rate on expedia $573 and direct booking at $645. this is unhuman.
- location is not that close to transport.
- there were no meeting facilities, cafe or equivalent.
- this is merely a simple guest house, unfit to call a hotel.
- Kevin (6/5): - Not the greatest place, but excellent value and only about 7min walk to the metro.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Too small for comfort - We were there for 18 days; after we checked in, we found out room was extremely small; asked front desk if there is any bigger room tomorrow; reponse was " room will be about the same size".
When we checked out and found out there were in fact bigger room with nicer view.....
Overall experience - level of service offered by the male receptionist for night shift was cold, not welcoming; service extended by the lady who cleaned our room was warm; room was very small; could not turn around in the bathroom; bed with soft mattress.
Every morning, we found paper made furniture, vehicle & servants ... ( for funeral service) lying in front of the hotel for pick up and we didn't feel good about it; similar comments by other Chinese who were waiting in the lobby for their ride / friends.
Surrounding area not inviting- close to market place (not super market) and the scenary not one of the best; hotel located right across a public washroom and it took 10 to 15 minutes to walk from hotel to the Prince subway station if you don;t get lost.
- Rose (8/5): Clean hotel. Value for money. Not well located. - 1. Clean hotel.
2. Room arrangement crammy.
3. 10 min to mtr. Be prepared to walk often.
- Verified traveler (4/5): SHOE BOX size! - The room is essentially a bed and the bathroom is 3 feet from it.
It is very crammed and the floor isl very poor. It seems very unclean.
I thought I was going to a 3 star hotel. NO - it is a one star inn.
Best go to a larger hotel nearby. Although I must say the front staff was friendly and helpful.
- Chongshi (8/5): Good location, Some Noise - Convenient location, clean room, good wifi. They were also willing to hold on to our luggage for the day after we checked out. Gym is small, we never used it. Hotel can be tricky to find since the building blends in with everthing else, make sure to have a map app. Sound insolation from the street was good but you could hear other guests talking and entering rooms.
- Fulton (8/5): Reasonable for Hong Kong - They upgraded my reservation to a larger bed but I would have like it better with a single bed as the room was small. The lobby was adequate; elevator sufficient. There was not view to speak of as I did not needed one. There was a small refrigerator and safe in the room. The WiFi was adequate.
- Gemsheer (6/5): Clean but tiny rooms - The rooms are very tiny, kind of reminds of uk university accommodation. The bathroom is mostly the size of airplane toilet. The rooms are very clean though and is cleaned everyday. Price is not cheap.
- Timothy (4/5): Hotel with Tiny Rooms - The hotel did not match the pictures on the internet Hotel.com site. The room was tiny and when the reception staff saw my large (but standard size for airplane checkin) suitcase - they suggested it wouldn't fit in the single room I had booked. They tried to upsell me to a larger room. The room was very tiny and the bathroom miniscule.
- Ken (6/5): An overall OK hotel - Cleanliness is good, things get changed daily. Room is small but functioned good enough for me. Only thing i was more particular was the soft mattress and pillow. Did not give me the support i needed, this may be subjective to every individual.
- Ramazan (2/5): Dissapointed - It was nightmare, super small room and not clean
- Ashutosh (2/5): Useless hotel - It has been the worst stay in this hotel ..even could not stay in there for a single night .. the rooms are so small u can't even think of..it's better to sleep on the roads .. never show these type of hotels on your website
- Moon (6/5): Prize is good - It was Ok
- Kalyan (8/5): Nice hotel close to station and malls - At first we chose the double bedroom but I think it is too small. My wife was not at all happy. Then we upgraded our room to a deluxe one with a differential of 100 AUD (only). Both of us were happy.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Teeny tiny room - Hotel is located at ideal location near MTR station and eateries nearby. Cons: room is SUPER tiny. It only has space for sleeping. Restroom is also super tiny. Have to be careful with the shower or you could splash water out onto the bathroom floor. Staff does a pretty good job cleaning up the room.
- leon (6/5): Ideal for long stay for Budgeted tour in HK - The Hotel is not extraordinary its a usual hotel for a nice and comfortable bed for a 3 star hotel don't expect luxurious treatment delight just keep in mind that the hotel is near the Garbage Segregation Facility just infront of it sometimes its a landmark for the hotel, but again if you are on a budget you can't complain this is an old hotel so don't expect of a fresh smell reality is youll get use to the smell anyway if you want best booked a 5 star hotel instead the hotel is cozy the staff dont speak English but few of the Front Desk officers speak Average English sometimes sign language helps...
I would like to commend Berna one of the Hotel Night Shift Front office staff for she is so accommodating and she give me a handful advices where to go and what to expect around the city as a first timer I was so happy about seeing a person like her helpful like Berna She's an asset to the Hotel it makes my stay even warmer she is Good in English and can able to give clear Direction
Its a Nice Hong Kong experience after all
- Willie (6/5): no view at all. - It was only the first day there are cleaning lady change new floor towel inside bathroom, but NOT the other days. I have to step on wet floor inside bathroom everyday after bathing.
- Bo (8/5): Small but clean room - The room was clean but very small, which is pretty much expected in Hong Kong. A few minutes walk from the MTR station, which is convenient.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - the location is quite hard to find, you may need to remember some shops or landmark to find this place or going out from here.
The customer service need to be upgraded, i notice it was only 1 person working at the counter at night, and i wait for a long time for check in.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Horendous. Had a police raid for no reason at all.
- Sean (8/5): A most excellent hotel - It is truly convenient as it is a short 10 min walk to the nearest train station and even better, it is close to a lot of mall so if you enjoy shopping or just want to walk and see Hong Kong, it is an most excellent choice with its cheap price and convenience. It is important however to note that the room is not extremely big and that if you are planning to stay for a long time in the hotel, you better think twice.
- Leon (8/5): Affordable & Walking distance to MRT - Shower is a bit small, but you can't expect too much for the price.
