- Fynn (9/5): Exceptional stay - It’s a very spacious room, good facilities and equipment. Staff is helpful and polite at all times.
I would definitely recommend to stay here
- valeria (9/5): Perfect stay in HK - We come back here every year and every year it delivers! Beautiful rooms and very clean
- Daniel (8/5): -
- Genevieve (9/5): Great hotel in a wan chai area - The room was spacious and comfortable great shower and great location near shops and restaurants We had to pay it have early check in

- Vimish (8/5): Super-comfortable for a short stay - The outstanding feature of this property is the bedroom, which is beautifully designed and thoughtfully equipped with high quality products. We were also able to appreciate the rooftop pool now that it has re-opened. The breakfast is very basic with poor quality products and limited choice. It doesn’t match the aspirations of the remainder of the hotel.
- Manwinder (10/5): - Location is perfect. Lots to explore just outside the hotel. I cant think of anything I didnt like.
- Clarissa (7/5): Loved the location; team could have been more welcoming and friendly. - Location was superb, a short walk to everything we wanted to see on Hong Kong Island. Room was bright and cheerful with a unique layout which made great use of the space. When choosing which hotel to stay in on Hong Kong Island, Indigo offered great value for money and we would recommend on that basis. The reception from the team when we arrived couldn't have been more underwhelming. It was as if our arrival put the team out and interrupted what they were doing; even eye contact from one team member who was busy paper shuffling seemed a stretch for them. We stayed in three hotels during our stay in Hong Kong and unfortunately the customer service let Hotel Indigo down. That said, we did have a faulty tap in our room which the maintenance crew were quick to come and fix and the team left a nice gesture (wine and chocolate) to apologise for the inconvenience.
- Edith (3/5): - Upgraded Breakfast is horrible
- ROBERT (6/5): war ok - preis leistung ok personal sehr chinesisch
- David Robert (8/5): Well appointed in an excellent location - Location was excellent, very close to all forms of transport. It was a modern, well appointed hotel in the middle of Hong Kong. The pool not open, the gym was very small and poorly equipped. No space!!

- Sarah (8/5): Great value, comfortable stay and good location - Hotel was really good value, room spacious and nicely decorated, beds were very comfortable, it was quiet and slept well at night. The staff were friendly and helpful, location also very good in wan chai. Fairly central and lots of good places to eat nearby. The cafe opposite the hotel entrance is also very good The pool wasn't open (I think perhaps it may only be open over the summer months). The hotel did notify me after I booked that it was closed but was hoping it might reopen before our stay so this was a little disappointing. Otherwise everything was great
- Mariane (8/5): Great for exploring the city - Good size room, very clean, comfy bed I particularly liked the pillows, also very helpful staff. Good breakfast selection. Great location, close to tram stops, metro stations, good overall access to move around in Hong Kong. We had a great time exploring the city 😊 Was disappointed to hear the pool was closed for maintenance, AFTER placing the booking! I mean I chosen the hotel, because it had a swimming pool 🙄... on the hotel defense, it wasn't till I arrived in hong kong that I was told it is common for hotels to close their pools for a few months every year. Anyway it would be great if the hotel would make this explicit before the booking is confirmed. If I knew I might have made a different choice...
- Ivor (8/5): Great value boutique hotel in a great location - Great location, nice sized rooms and good breakfast Swimming pool was closed when we visited (only found out after I booked)

- Natalie (9/5): Great hotel! - Fabulous room! I was looking for a spacious room for a several night stay and the Indigo was great! There are a lot of places to store things and the view is awesome. The staff was also very nice. The shower did not drain well, but that's an easy fix. Also a bummer that the pool is closed for maintenance and probably would be good to put that in the description of the hotel, not a message after booking it.

- stuart (10/5): would stay here again happily - location and staff not a lot really. it was all lovely and good value for money
- Andrea (7/5): Average - They upgraded my room Poor and cheap breakfast
- Fu (9/5): - Location and room space None
- Artur (9/5): -
- Claire (8/5): - they did their bests to accomondate me given I had last minute travel date changes. and I moved rooms and they let me look at all the rooms they could give me b4 i made a decicion, the handicapped room I had was very hit-or-miss but was the only one available for half the week. the bathroom smelled like toilet.
- Mariana (6/5): Not sure… - The location was good and the room was spacious The Room we stayed had the headboard aligned with the open vanity unit and it was not very comfortable. The breakfast was very poor.
- Linda (8/5): - The maid service was excellent. The staff were helpful. Most of the breakfast items which should have been warm were barely lukewarm.
- Filippo (7/5): - Location , room size
- Susan (10/5): A very stylish hotel in a great spot! - A lovely stylish hotel in a great spot in Wan Chai. The rooms are nicely decorated and much better than one of the chain hotels. Good price for what you get. Please more fruit at breakfast, rather than just watermelon. Some bananas and berries would be great.
- Yen hsi (2/5): -
- Maximilien (10/5): -
- Jerome (8/5): Wanchai is a pretty special place. Loved it. - Location and room design. Could be a bit cheaper.
- Stuart (10/5): fabulous , you won’t be dissapointed - great position centrally located size of the pool was small on the rooftop but then that’s being critical as the building is narrow anyway and it would be impossible for it to be much bigger anyway
- samuel (3/5): - the position is super good No restaurant open in normal hour, closed at 6 pm…
My bathroom is bigger than the gym
The “king bed”in the premium suit is maybe a princess…

- gordon (9/5): Lovely stay in a very comfortable room - The rooms were a good size and very clean. Towels and sheets were changed everyday. The breakfast did not have much choice. Only watermelon for fruit and some of the hot items were not replaced.
- Gokhan (7/5): -
- atkins (10/5): Stylish and comfortable. A luxurious stay. - It’s my second stay at Hotel Indigo. Great location in Wan Chai for Lee Tung Avenue and night markets. Great breakfast. I had a room upgrade so I had more space with corner views of the streets. Love the Shanghai Tang bathroom products. Bought some back to England as you can buy them at the hotel. Will stay again if I’m working in Hong Kong. The pool was closed for the winter. The gym is adequate but small. A steam / sauna facility would be a fantastic addition for those visiting in Jan and Feb when the pool is closed.

- Kopite52 (4/5): Is it the worst breakfast in any IHG hotel? - Not enough space to say how terrible the breakfast is here. It is worse than any Holiday Inn Express. Every item is the poorest low quality food they can buy & get away with.
Cheap supermarket sliced bread in plastic wrappers just placed on counter in wrapper. There is a sharp bread knife on a board. I asked why (?) as all the bread is pre sliced white. Staff cannot answer why, its just there.
Milk only 1 type, no semi skimmed nor oat. Cereal is in plastic funnels only 2 types, one of which is a very unhealthy chocolate one! The other is the cheapest supermarket cornflakes. No muesli or granola just the cheapest cereals from Wellcome.
No croissants nor any kind of pastry selection / no choice at all , just hard brown rolls that are inedible.
No choice of fruit just 1 small plate of cut pale looking watermelon pieces.
Most days no bacon even though a sign says "bacon" on the buffet counter. Staff just said "don't have today" then turned the bacon sign around to face away. only 2 days out of 7 did bacon appear and then it's put in a tray with no lid and so is cold.
Some terrible looking cheap ham is swimming in a tray of water.
There are 2 domestic type kitchen toasters in a corner of the buffet bar. They are very slow to toast so a queue builds up.
When 1 person is using the toasters nobody else can get to them as the corner location means 1 person just blocks access . No thought has been given given to this crowded corner so the flow is poor.
Most days there is a "chef" cooking eggs behind a screen. He has no personality and doesn't know how to talk to guests neither in Chinese nor English. He should not be in a front line customer facing job. He is actually monosyllabic and quite rude.
In 5 years as IHG Diamond having stayed at all IHG brands extensively this is the worst breakfast experience any IHG hotel ever.
Everything you see and taste is the subject of severe cost cutting and buying the cheapest option possible. No choice ! It's almost like they've said "how cheaply can we go to cut costs and get away with it"?
I wouldn't be surprised to see this hotel re branded once the current IHG management contract expires.

- Emma (8/5): Or stay at the Indigo hotel - Beautiful room, very good location, comfortable bed, good service, impressive room mini bar The pool was closed, the restaurant closed after lunch so no dinner, breakfast was more limited compared to other hotels, the toilet was almost open to the bedroom
- kawoh (10/5): Awesome Hong Kong hotel - Exceptional property in a great location just moments from wan chai station, close to great local food eats markets and the rooms are stunning well laid out, Shanghai tang toiletries, just rooms get a bit cold so they can bring you a heater. Loved this property.
- Andrew (10/5): Excellent location and brilliant staff - The staff were just terrific. So helpful and did everything possible to make my stay as comfortable as possible. They organised an excellent guide (Sao) to show me around Hanoi and they also helped me with my onward journey. They were all fantastic

- Edwin11967 (8/5): Good Hotel in exciting Wan Chai - A good hotel for a short stay in exciting Wan Chai area in Hong Kong, and was the main reason we chose Indigo was we were visiting friends who live in Wan Chai. The rooms are decent size, IHG status recognised (in fact they write you a letter at check in , which was nice), the rooms are clean and well equipped, only 8 rooms per floor, staff friendly, small but functional gym, we did not book breakfast as there were plenty of local choices just near the hotel, the location is awesome, quick walk to Johnston Road and Hennessy Rd for all dining and local shops. Overall a good stay, thank you to Ivan who checked us in, and the very friendly and responsive Housekeeping staff.
- William (8/5): Not bad - Location Seemed short-staffed everywhere, and a bit lacking in patience and hospitality. English proficiency also can be better.
- Vivek (9/5): - Good room size and great location Breakfast was pretty basic

- Culture58275 (8/5): A Sojourn at Hotel Indigo Wan Chai: A Critical Appraisal - Commendations
The service rendered throughout our residence proved nothing short of exemplary—a testament to Hong Kong’s venerable tradition of hospitality excellence. Upon discovering, on our inaugural evening, that the shower apparatus had succumbed to mechanical failure, we reported the matter with modest expectations. The establishment’s response, however, was immediate and magnanimous: not merely a change of quarters, but an elevation to more capacious accommodation, supplemented by an additional bed, all without pecuniary imposition. The communication throughout this episode was conducted with admirable alacrity and genuine solicitude—an experience that lingers most favourably in recollection.
As to situation, the hotel occupies a position of considerable strategic merit. Ensconced in the pulsating heart of Wan Chai, one descends quite literally into the Wan Chai Market, whilst the surrounding streets proffer a veritable cornucopia of culinary establishments—from authentic Cantonese fare to cosmopolitan gastronomy of every conceivable provenance. The abundance borders on the overwhelming; one could scarcely exhaust the possibilities in a fortnight’s dedicated exploration. The Wan Chai MTR station lies a mere five minutes’ leisurely stroll from the hotel’s entrance, affording swift and effortless connexion to the entirety of Hong Kong’s admirably efficient transit network. Both the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and the refined precincts of Pacific Place lie within a quarter-hour’s perambulation, rendering the location equally felicitous for the commercial traveller and the leisured flâneur alike.
Reservations
One must acknowledge, with due candour, that the establishment—having now weathered some twelve years since its inauguration—betrays certain intimations of temporal passage. Whilst maintenance remains adequate to purpose, the discerning eye cannot fail to detect a patina of age when measured against more recently erected competitors.
The immediate environs, characterised by imposing edifices on every quarter, afford virtually no prospect whatsoever. For those guests who harbour particular attachment to visual amenity or the benediction of natural illumination, this circumstance may prove disappointing.
The morning repast, I confess, struck a rather pedestrian note—somewhat unexpected for a property bearing the InterContinental Hotels Group imprimatur. This deficiency, however, is rendered largely academic by the embarrassment of superior breakfast establishments within easy walking distance. I would counsel, with some conviction, that one forsake the hotel’s offerings entirely and venture forth into the neighbourhood, where culinary rewards of far greater distinction await.
Concluding Reflections
At a tariff of HKD 2,770 for two nights’ lodging—in so central and costly a district as Wan Chai—the establishment represents genuinely commendable value. For the traveller whose priorities incline toward situational convenience, operational efficiency, and fiscal prudence, rather than panoramic vistas or resort-style indulgences, Hotel Indigo Wan Chai commends itself as an eminently practical and dependable selection.
- Zafer (9/5): -
- Aditya (8/5): Elegant clean interiors, friendly staff. - Clean rooms, modern construction and premium interiors. Friendly staff at the dining area. Short staffed while checking in. No one to help with the luggage.
- Silviu danut (6/5): -
- Marlene (10/5): Nice & clean - Rooftop bar was nice and room was spacious. Breakfast was ok - not much choice but all fine. Room service refilled water bottles & coffee pods (nespresso machine inside the room was amazing). Big gap above the bathroom door could be something that some people would need to conisder (depending who you‘re travelling with). Gym is very tiny - but we did not use it.

- Paula (8/5): - Spacious room, comfortable bed and pillows. Lots of thoughtful extras including Nespresso pods. Good breakfast included in the price.
- glenmH8635IH (10/5): Excellent hotel - Excellent hotel. Rooms are really lovely and comfortable. Staff and service is extremely good. Great location. Fabulous shops nearby too for coffee, food, cakes etc if you wanted a change to the excellent room service.
- Glen (9/5): -
- Nathalie (9/5): -
- Anna (6/5): Great location, really bad breakfast - Great location. Nice decor. Breakfast was really bad - very limited choice and the worst dim sun I have ever had in Hong Kong... I invited a fried to join me for breakfast at the hotel and was embarrassed by what was served (other than coffee - nice cappucino).
Also, I forgot to bring a plug adapter and they did not have any available for guests' use. I had to buy one at the reception (for an unreasonably high price) in order to charge my phone.
- Dolores (9/5): -
- Maria (10/5): -
- F8r8h (10/5): Very Lovely Hotel Room - Such a beautiful room, very comfortable and enjoyed my stay there. It is a little dark in the room as the building opposite looks in and blinds need to remain closed. Hard to be without lights on during the day to be honest.
- Maggie (8/5): Enjoyable cosy - Location and clean Nothing
- Kai Ting (10/5): -
- Marcus Roberto (1/5): Checked out 3 hours after checked in - Absolutely nothing. Oh, it’s in Hong Kong that’s it. Hong Kong Has my heart. It’s ridiculously different from what is advertised at booking.com. A mattress on the floor, 175 USD for this? Horrible, disgustingly disappointed! I ended up leaving and didn’t stay at this horrible place. Booking.com should be more careful when advertising properties that are absolutely different from the pictures to reality.
- Sarah (8/5): -
- philliprR7786RK (8/5): Excellent hotel in Wan Chai Hong Kong - I booked my four night stay at the Indigo having read the Tripadvisor reviews and having done a fair bit of research into Hong Kong hotels/areas...and glad I did. Th Hotel Indigo proved to be an excellent choice - I normally try to avoid 'boutique' hotels - which I consider are too much about look/style and trendiness and are often over priced. But the Indigo proved me wrong. Part of the IHG group, the Indigo is a modern hotel on a quiet street in Wan Chai on Hong Kong Island . A 15 minute taxi ride from Hong Kong Station, the MTR metro buses and ding ding trams a few minutes walk away - and with lots of shops and restaurants and markets in the area. There's even the Star Ferry nearby.
Staff in reception were friendly, efficient and most helpful. The standard room was one of the best of my 15 day trip - classy, very tastefully designed, well equipped with a king bed sized bed and small couch. Breakfast was included in the rate I booked directly with the hotel and despite other negative reviews about it in Trip Advisor I found it OK - yes it should be better for such a nice hotel - but the dining room and the personnel were excellent. The hotel's location, the very nice bedroom and the staff impressed me . I found the Indigo a good balance between a modern chain and a boutique. Highly recommended
- Colin56 (9/5): - The room was great, the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was OK. The location was good if you want to explore, lots of restaurants and bars around the hotel. Could have been cheaper

- Elisa (9/5): OTTIMO SOGGIORNO A WANCHAI HONG KONG - Piscina chiusa per manutenzion epurtroppo
- Amanda (10/5): Great stay in Hong Kong - We were 2 friends sharing and the room size was perfect for us. The location is excellent. Right by HKs best coffee + supermarket. Easy walk to Admiralty and Central
- Daniel (10/5): Excellent location and amenities - Comfortable room, good size and well equipped. Enough space for 2 suitcases to be stored without being in the way. Close to MTR and loads of eateries around. Very minor but couldn’t have alcohol while relaxing at the pool which would’ve been great with such a lovely rooftop
