- Jasmin (10/5): - Wunderschönes, familiengeführtes Hotel mit unglaublich herzlichen Gastgebern – man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen. Als liebevolle Geste gab es sogar ein Glas selbstgemachten Honig. Sehr bequeme Matratzen und eine Dusche mit richtig gutem Wasserdruck. Das Frühstück ist ein Highlight: reichhaltig, frisch und mit vielen hausgemachten Spezialitäten – von Eierspeisen über Früchte bis hin zu Kuchen, Brot und Konfitüre. Alles, was das Herz begehrt. Ruhige Lage in der Natur, perfekt zum abschalten umd erholen, nur 2 Minuten zu Fuss zum Meer, Tavernen ganz in der Nähe. Ein absoluter Geheimtipp – klare Empfehlung!

- Zuzanna (10/5): Wspaniałe miejsce na wypoczynek i relaks! - Hotel znajduje się w bardzo spokojnej i cichej okolicy w niedalekiej odległości od plaży (wieczorami słychać szum morza). W miejscowości znajduje się kilka restauracji i supermarket oraz piękne plaże. Pokoje są czyste, sprzątane co dwa dni, dobrze wyposażone. W pokoju były ręczniki, lodówna, czajnik. W hotelu jest basen i leżaki na których można wypoczywać. :) Śniadania są przepyszne! Są opcje słodkie (cisata, rogaliki, dżemy własnej roboty, itd.) oraz słone (jajka, bekon, szynka itp.) oraz jogurt grecki, wypiekane chleby, miód od właściciela obiektu, a także kawa, herbaty i świeży sok pomarańczowy. Obsługa jest bardzo profesjonalna. Właścicelka jest bardzo miła i pomocna, podczas naszego pobytu poleciła nam kilka pięknych miejsc do zobaczenia, za co jesteśmy bardzo wdzięczni. :) Jest to świetne miejsce na wypoczynek, z daleka od głośnych miast i tłumów ludzi.

- Zoe (9/5): Sehr guter Aufenthalt, würde auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. - Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, bei Anliegen sofort zur Stelle. Das Hotel lag 3 Gehminuten vom Strand und 10 min vor Supermarkt, sehr gute Lage. Das Zimmer war klein, aber sehr gemütlich und mit einem tollen Balkon. Der Pool und die Poolanlage waren sehr schön und wurden sauber gehalten. Die Ausstattung war etwas älter, die Schränke haben muffig gerochen und die Türen und Schubladen waren schwer zu öffnen. Um warmes Wasser zu bekommen musste man die Dusche 10 min vorher laufen lassen.

- Jöran (4/5): Nicht mit Kindern. Gute Lage und Ruhe ist da einzig was man bekommt. - Die Lage ist echt toll. Die großen Blumen auf dem Gelände sind sehr schön. Sehr ruhig. Tolle Strände in der Nähe. Umgeben von Oliven und auf dem Gelände. Bettwäsche ist sauber und Reinigungsservice funktioniert auch. Leider insgesamt kein gutes Hotel. Der Pool ist sauber und für sein Alter gut in Schuss. Die ganze Anlage ist alt und wird an vielen Stellen nur mit minimalem Einsatz am laufen gehalten. Unsre Badezimmertür war defekt. 2 von 4 Matratzen durchgelegen. Warmes duschwasser ist glückssache. Duschen setzt das ganze Badezimmer unter Wasser. Rund um den Parkplatz ist Gerümpel und Müll abgestellt. Früher gab es mal ne Bar aber die ist auch nur noch eine Rumpelkammer. Rezeption schließt um 21.00... oder früher. Von den zwei Leuten mit denen wir zu tun hatten war einer extrem nett. Und die andere ziemlich unfreundlich zu unserer Kindern. Kinder sind da eh nicht gerne gesehen. Es gibt keinen Spielmöglichkeit, auch ältere Kinder dürfen nicht alleine zum Pool etc. Das Frühstück war eigentlich ok. Leider habe ich am zweiten Tag Schimmel in einem Topf gefunden und danach lieber nur noch das gegessen was garantiert frisch gemacht war. Die Spiegeleier waren gut. Fazit: Wenn Sie wenig Ansprüche und keine Kinder haben, tolle Lage suchen und einen guten Preis bekommen geht das klar. Sonst eher nicht.

- Peter (7/5): Schöner Badeaufenthalt. - Das Haus ist alt, aber unser Familien-Apartement war durchaus tauglich. Sehr gute Betten. Toller Rundblick vom Balkon. Jakuzzi auf der Terrasse. Das Frühstück war ok. Der Strand und das Baden war super.
- Martina (6/5): Familienhotel im Grünen - Das Hotel ist ca 150m von einem schönen, kündigen Strand. Wir waren im September hier, es war sehr einsam und ruhig. In der Nebenbucht sind Restaurants, ca 20 Gehminuten entfernt. Die Lage ist schön. Am Pool wird Frühstück angeboten. Sehr schönes kleines Restaurant, sehr viele grüne Pflanzen. Familiengeführtes Hotel. Alles auf Englisch besprechbar. Die Zimmer und Anlage sind in die Jahre gekommen. Sehr kleines Zimmer. Bett zu weich und klein. Laken noch kleiner, verrutschen, man liegt auf der Matratze. Das Bad war bei der Ankunft leider nicht sauber, hinter der Tür lagen lange Haare vom Vormieter oder der Putzkraft. Die Wirtin backt für Frühstück sehr viele verschiedene deftige und süße Gebäcke. Leider scheint Backen eher ihr Hobby als ihre wirkliche Berufung. Es hat uns leider nicht wirklich geschmeckt.
- Peter (8/5): Sehr erholsamer Strandurlaub an einem Platz ohne Massentourismus. - Die Zimmer sind einfach, aber es ist alles da, was man braucht. Die Einrichtung gewinnt keinen Designe-Preis. Die Betten sind aber sehr gut. Uns hat am meisten der wunderbare Ausblick gefallen. Viele Stufen zum Zimmer.
- Eddy (8/5): Small family hotel in a wonderful peacefull area of Crete - The location which is wonderful, quiet and near to a blue flag beach The bathroom is very basic. A shower with a curtain and fixation of the shower water output and practically no space between shower and toilet aren't circumstances that meet actual 2025 standards anymore. But otherwise a very good hotel.

- Melissanthi (10/5): Homey and cosy - Brilliant location, quiet but only a short distance from the beach, local amenities etc. The people running the hotel were ever so sweet and accommodating, always greeted us with a genuine smile and positive attitude. The room was clean, homey and had everything you might need for a short stay. We spent our time in the area hiking all day so we looked forward to coming back to our lovely little room at the end of the day.

Pool restrictions meaning it could only be used from 10 am to 8pm. The place felt like it could use renovation, some not working lamps. - Natália (7/5): Good value - Comfortable beds, *the view*, Jacuzzi, proximity to the sea, area, silence :) The bathroom was also clean and nice, which is great. The accommodation is a bit older but for the price nice and reasonable. If they just did a little bit more maintenance and renovations, things would be really really good (renovate the kitchen a bit, the cupboard under the sink was very mildew stinky). Kitchen could be equipped a bit more, it missed some basic things. You cannot throw the dirty toilet paper into the toilet but to a bin - this is not the fault of the accommodation of course, but would be nice if they had a system of collecting the bin every day and not every 4 days (the general cleaning is every 4 days which is completely fine by me but the bins are unbearable). We threw it out on our own but the system would be helpful. Also we payed one morning for the breakfast but didn't really find it very worth it - they make homemade cakes which is great and they were very tasty but I found some of them moldy... they probably just didn't notice though.

- Santos (6/5): Pleasant - The staff were amazing and very friendly. They provided detailed information on places to visit and places to eat. The best food we had on Crete was recommended by the staff! The AC didn't work the first night we arrived because the remote had no battery. The staff quickly worked to figure this out and fix it the next day, but it is still unpleasant to experience as AC was a listed service.

I wouldn't order any "extras". - Good accommodation away from the masses, quiet location and easy beach access. ⛱️ Breakfast homemade, varied and delicious. 😋 Outdoor rope to hang wet clothes. 💧 Friendly staff, sweet dog. 🐕 Check-in gift of honey. 🍯 Pool is inviting and a nice "come down" after a day filled with activities. 🏊♀️ Felt and saw some internal tension amongst the family running the hotel. It's not an easy job. Perhaps keeping it behind closed doors would be more professional. 6€ for 2 sodas (0.33ml). Normal cost 1€. We were considering having dinner at the property one night but after the charge we ruled it out. I later overheard another couple inquiring about dinner - barbecue option for 50€ per person. Not going to fault them for making money, but we spent 43€ in total at a local restaurant for a barbecue dinner (including drinks and a huge salad). I say make the money you can, but don't pass the line into being a ripoff. 🤷🏽♀️ Main hallway door slams shut. A hinge that softens the door closing would be ideal, a soft close door.
- Nicky (10/5): A Delightful Family Run Hotel - We were warmly welcomed by our host who showed us to one of the cleanest most well-maintained rooms we've ever stayed in in Greece. Balcony with proper chairs and table...washing line to dry you wet towels. Kettle etc in room. Everything you'd expect and more. We were told we could book breakfast or dinner with them if we wanted. We went out for an explore for the afternoon. When we came back and sat by the beautifully kept pool (the family are constantly lifting out petals and leaves) we were given home grown eating grapes to enjoy and then a meze plate of fried pumpkin which was delicious so we decided to book breakfast it's €7. After a very comfortable nights sleep we were greeted warmly at breakfast and directed to a simply amazing help yourself spread....there were eggs, bacon some unbelievably delicious sausage then about 10 different home made cakes and pastries, yoghurt, honey (their own!) Cheeses, croissants, bread (home made again) then jewel in the crown...the home made jam! We were told that she uses their honey to make it rather than sugar. It was outstanding! Tea, coffee and juices all available too. We barrel rolled ourselves off to the beach for the day after booking dinner with them which we were told was a meze bbq ...it didn't disappoint! Bread, Greek Salad, tzatziki and a plate of fabulous charcoal cooked meat & some fried potatoes then home made honey themed pastries for dessert...just wonderful! This is €15 pp A delightful example of Cretan Hospitality.

- Thamar (10/5): Incredibly friendly service - My 10 stay with my 2 children was the happiest time I’ve ever stayed in a hotel. We were made to feel so welcomed by the owners. They went above and beyond to do bings for us. We loved the pool and the food was delishous. I would thoroughly recommend staying here. My kids were very happy and made may new friends. I felt it was a very safe and friendly place to stay. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for visiting all the impressive sights the south of Crete has to offer. My stay in Crete has been for 5 weeks this summer and the south I found is the most beautiful. A huge thank you to The Sunrise Hotel for making my stay so special.

"Studio" was an irregularly-shaped room with a kitchenette. Isolated location. Breakfast buffet was supposed to be great according to earlier reviews, but it was not - low-quality cheese and luncheon meat.

The atmosphere in the hotel was very welcoming and friendly - a small family run unit, providing excellent breakfasts and beautifully cooked evening meals were available every evening if desired. The service and cleanliness was good. The hotel itself fairly basic and a little 'tired' but was made up for by the location, general service and care of the owners.
- Juan (8/5): September2013 in Korakas - Remote location offers peace and quiet vs crowded tourist areas. Beach is 100m walk; nice and secluded; not overcrowded; clear waters; bring swim shoes for walking, many rocks in the water; makes walking difficult; 2 caves, occupied by wanderers. Several “super market” and restaurants within 16km. Near-by small towns like Sellia has amazing character and charm. Plakias is the nearest tourist resort. It offers ATM, gas station, and tourist attractions. DO NOT buy souvenirs from the overpriced "Forum". Go to Chania, Rethymnon, or Iraklion (Heraklion) markets, much better and worth the 1-2 hour drive. Manolia is wonderful. Whatever request, she will help. I requested a special dinner for anniversary and had great Greek BBQ grilled with lamb, pork ribs, and chicken. Other guests celebrated with us. Decorated our room with flowers and candles; An experience to remember. Breakfast included. Homemade wine; mild to the taste; adds a flavor of local goodness. Mountains make it remote and beauty. Many curves and turns on road. Use caution; one mistake and over the cliffs you go. Standard rooms are small with fridge; no kitchenette. Suites have kitchenettes. Bathroom is small and the shower area can look better. Mattresses are thin. We asked for comforters to make the bed softer. No iron or hairdryer. If we needed it, it would have been provided Breakfast: keep the warm food warmer. Eggs and ham go cold when we get to it. Overall: I would definitely consider staying here again.
