- crimsontide85 (10/5): Huge suite with living area and giant bathroom! - Great experience with a fantastic upgrade. Convenient to the BJCC. Room service was good. Coffee shop in lobby excellent. Upgraded to hospitality suite which was HUGE, great entertaining space even if furniture is a little worn. My daughter didn’t notice, to her this suite was rock star worthy. Huge main bathroom with tons of counter space for getting ready, along with smaller guest nah off the living room. Two mini fridges also a plus, plenty of room for storing what we needed. This room would be great space for a girls weekend!

- RDCononver (10/5): Excellent Staff - The Westin is in a great location and is connected with its sister hotel a Sheraton and the convention center. The Westin is in the process of being renovated (club Linge closed but can use the Sheraton’s). The maids on the 9th floor were friendly and could not do enough to make you feel special offering water, towels, etc always saying hello and thanking us for the stay. The desk and other staff always said hello and asked if they could help in any way. Temperature in the room was great, good showers, clean, good desk, WiFi was great, no issues or problems whatsoever. I’d stay again.

A free shuttle to and from concert venue. We had two double beds not two queen. They were too small for us 4. That could have been an error on my part. I didn’t even know hotels had double beds anymore.

Aside from the convenient location, this hotel just gets it right. Friendly team members, comfortable rooms and flawless delivery of elite benefits. The pre-arrival and on site welcome from Alyssa on their community engagement team was also appreciated! I look forward to my future stays.

- Leonard (4/5): I will not be doing business with you again. The Westin brand has fallen in my eyes. - There was no breakfast that I could see. I inquired, expecting breakfast for the price of the room. Instead, the front desk shipped to the Sheraton, next door, with no vouchers. It was a long walk that we didn't not expect and was easy to get lost. We left the hotel at that point very disappointed. Very little communication by staff. Lots of staff standing around with tons of disappointed consumers waiting to check in. We had an hour long wait to even get into a room at 4pm. Some guests had been waiting hours because they also were confused and uninformed. Check in times are not well communicated directly. What was emailed was different than the website. This failure, on the part of an organization to communicate something as simple as check in, starts the stay off on a bad foot. Poor communication and the absence of an organized breakfast ruined my past trust in the Westin Brand. I had expectations higher than Holiday Inn for those price points at least...The service received was, instead...confused, over-staffed, inexperienced staff, and organization comes off not consumer friendly as a result.

- Lisah (6/5): - The check in process was horrendous. Due to an event several roads were blocked, which was understandable. The problem lies with calling the hotel on 3 different occasions and getting 3 different sets of information on how to get to the hotel/ park/ check in. One one occasion they even told us a manager would come out to speak to parking attendants about or reservation, but no one ever came. This process took over an hour and a half. No attempts were made to rectify this situation. I was only told ‘there is nothing we can do’ and ‘idk why they told you that’. Thanks

- O2246MEstephaniem (8/5): Friendly and helpful staff! - Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. From the valet, to the front desk and all of the cleaning staff. Everyone I crossed paths with or ran into greeted us and were smiling! As for the rooms, they were clean and comfortable. The king rooms were sold out so we had 2 doubles which were small but still comfy!
- phil1007 (4/5): Poor service and staff - I stayed here on a business trip for two nights. The hotel is relatively close to Birmingham Airport, short taxi ride there - there is a shuttle but this was not mentioned on the website or advised by staff at check in. The check in was okay, slow but functional, staff are not overly friendly. There was no restaurant available, there is apparently the Sheraton restaurant available but not much information was provided by the staff and they did not seem interested in helping. The bartender spent the entire time on her phone video calling with people rather than attending to customers which was shame. The coffee shop is quite nice and the rooms are very comfortable. Overall a poor stay and I will not return on my next visit.

- F115VEsarahs (6/5): Convenient stop over. - This was an overnight stop enroute to New Orleans. It was clean. The staff were lovely and helpful. The room was huge - which was handy with luggage. The restaurant wasn’t open as it was being renovated but there were restaurants outside. The very big down side was the bed was terribly uncomfortable. It had a big dip in the middle. Room 501 really needs a new mattress.

- cclifford2010 (2/5): Serious Safety Concern - Avoid at all costs. Security tried to barge into my room after midnight and when they couldn't, came back and aggressively banged on the door. Apparently, someone with the same last name as me had just checked in and they thought I was in the wrong room (spoiler alert - I wasn't) and I needed to come out and show my ID to stay there. I had showed my ID 3 hours earlier to be given the room key in the first place, but that apparently wasn't sufficient. The app also showed that room number as being my room. I asked security guard how it made sense for me to have to get out of bed in the middle of the night to reshow ID I had showed earlier to check into the hotel, and he said he was security and could ask for my ID any time he wanted. So if as a single female travelling alone you feel comfortable being woken up after midnight and being ordered to get up and reshow the ID that you already showed to be given the room in the first place, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, I would avoid.

- Reiko (8/5): - They were really busy so the 4pm check in time wasn't possible for a lot of people. The front desk team seemed aggravated due to back ups and housekeeping not being faster. I wasn't impressed with the communication between housekeeping and the front desk.
- Gillian (6/5): GROSS! - Check in was great!! Very busy day at hotel since there was a concert there that night. They made check in as quick as possible and the valet was as well. We got to the room and it was a different story. A bottle cap was on the floor in the bathroom, some random hairs on the bathroom floor and then empty bottles under the bed. Yes we were all a little grossed out but with on a very limited time frame for a scheduled event finding another hotel wasn’t an option. I also opened the closet to find the stand for my suitcase and the closet door almost fell off the hinges, I caught it very quickly and lifted to close it securely. I also walked though the room with wet feet due to forgetting some and stepped back into the bathroom floor leaving dirty foot prints right behind me……good lord clean the carpets!!!

Es ist nicht in Ordnung, dass ein 4 Sterne Hotel: * auf E-Mail-Anfragen gar nicht reagiert, * über kein eigenes Restaurant verfügt und wir die "Bar" des Nachbar-Sheraton Hotels als Restaurant nutzen sollten, * das Zimmer nur alle drei Tage und nur mit direktem Kontakt zur Putzfrau gereinigt wurde (wir erhielten einen Zettel unter der Tür durchgeschoben, dass leider nicht gereinigt wird- den Zettel haben wir aufbewahrt * die Ausstattung eher für ein 3 Sterne Hotel sprach (mit Kaugummi versetzte Stoffsessel im Zimmer)

- MistiReign (8/5): Excellent location, we'd stay again - It was date night and we wanted a clean place to rest and nearby as we had a time downtown. The hotel is gorgeous, checking in had it's hiccups but we worked it out. The bed was so comfortable and the comforter was heavy so I slept like a baby. The towels fit all the way around me too lol. The room was clean for the most part but getting to the room in a 4 star hotel, there were some glaring details that were obviously overlooked that made me give it a 4. Entering the elevator it was carvings all over the walls of it, I'm unsure if it could be buffed out but it's noticeable. Getting off the elevator and going to the room is where I was most concerned. The heavily stained and tattered carpet was an eyesore and took away from the hotels beauty. The shower needed some attention as well the tub, not glaring but noticeable.

- lestsui537 (10/5): GREAT SERVICE BY TIM! - The pillows and bed were so comfortable!! And the amenities for the shower smelt so good! It was White Tea according to the bottle! Also, the friendly staff Tim and Nicole! They were both welcoming and Tim was so great about taking great care of us with offering snacks like apples. He even gave me a water bottle when I asked about water for my water bottle. I feel nowadays great guest service is rare! So when I recognize exceptional guest service, I take the time to write a great review about the person. Tim is the man!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not impressed - We stayed at this hotel for a conference at the convention hall. This hotel is dated and is in need of upgrades. Wallpaper ripped on walls. Carpet ripped. Hotel resteraunt closed down so breakfast was limited. Sheraton next door was nicer and had better coffee shop and bar.

- Dmlg6480 (8/5): Great hotel No Restaurant on Property - Very nice and comfortable room, staff very helpful along with valet Antoine super friendly and represents the hotel very professionally. Not sure if I will stay here again though, after checking in at 9pm was going to grab a late dinner at the restaurant after a long day of travel however the hotel HAS NO RESTAURANT. I have never in 2000 Marriott nights had a full service hotel not have a restaurant
- courtneywH1627YZ (10/5): The Kindest People Work at The Westin!! - Antoine who helped us with the valet on our last day was SO GOOD! He was so kind, professional, and even uplifting! We have enjoyed every last interaction with the hotel staff as well. They showed us so much kindness, so much professionalism, and we are so grateful. Our maintenance man, Don, helped when we had a problem. Kevin, a security guard on our floor was so kind and caring. This trip was wonderful, and I would recommend the Westin to anyone!

He went above and beyond to help us with our luggage, packed our cooler for us, helped zip my suitcase, and shared words of encouragement with us as we walked down to the lobby.
