They dont serve breakfast like rest of the hotels in area being a casino they could put small breakfast spot in even if its something small like a set food sausage gravy biscuits , or bacon eggs sausage .just something ,they have no microwave in the room not everyone wants to go to the restaurant or on casino floor when they have kids . Coffee pots in room would be good also small stuff to make it feel like you get ur money worth when you stay.
904betsyj (8/5): The good and bad of a five night midweek stay. - The hotel was very clean and the smoking room we had, on the 2nd floor, even had a window we could open for fresh air, though ventilation was very good. Hot coffee in entry was also excellent and always available. I’d rate hotel at five stars, but casino had two down sides. BIGGEST was the walking!! About 1/4 mile from hotel to casino, so one round trip was half a mile! Scooters available, but way too expensive for 8 hours of use. NO SHUTTLE SERVICE! I have walking difficulties, so we used our car to drive from hotel to casino and back. The other bad thing was only two restaurant choices with very limited menus most midweek days. Food was good, but not big servings, and fairly expensive for what you got. The casino seemed better odds than Oklahoma casinos.

858wins (10/5): Lake FRONT casino is more acurate . - Gambling odds aside, this is a great spot. It’s beautiful inside and out. Rooms / beds quite comfortable. Only drawback is no coffee in rooms . There is complementary coffee both in lobby and casino however. Whomever answers phone when I tried to make reservation was about as helpful as trying to call Samsung and getting someone half across world. But thankfully when we arrived the people behind counter communicated more clear and with more authenticity.

MP-a-go-go (6/5): Fine for a one night stay, but wouldn't go out of my way to recommend. - The room was a nice size. The refrigerator was a nice size. The freezer space was very small and didn't accommodate freezer packs. The one ice machine is a hike. The staff was mostly friendly - our little dog ran out of the room and ran into the lobby which has automatic doors and was able to run outside and get away - (What would happen with a toddler?) One of the staff members was helpful in rounding her up. Another was not so friendly about it. The pillows need to be replaced, one smelled like cigarettes. I wasn't sure the room was actually cleaned. There was something plastic left on the floor under the sink by the last guests. The curtains were broken so they didn't shut properly. Lightbulbs were out in the bathroom and desk. We booked at the casino instead of another hotel because we knew we were arriving late and thought there would be food options at the hotel. The restaurant was closed for dinner and we had to drive back several miles to find fast food on the highway. There was one limited option way at the other end of the complex for breakfast - premade sandwiches and muffins. The coffee in the hotel lobby was awful. It is like the hotel portion is just a sideline after thought.

craighQ583ZH (8/5): Just one night on the way to Florida. - Front desk was very friendly, efficient and helpful. I would have dropped to 3 1/2 if o could because the room I had add the hallways, etc really need to be updated. The room was kinda clean. But my dog found a dog toy behind the chair, so, not really clean. Bathroom fan reminded me of a Huey helicopter from back in Nam. Loud, oh my goodness. BUT, they are pet friendly, the price wasn’t terrible. We both had the “special” for dinner. I enjoyed it, my wife did not.

Deb (8/5): Lakeside Hotel and Casino - We stayed after Christmas so it was nice and quiet and the room was comfortable. The food buffets were great and we had fun at the casino and won some. The biggest dislike was the smell of cigarette smoke from the moment we walked into the hotel. The smoke from the casino carries through the entire hotel-restaurant-casino structure. The upstairs of the casino was the worst. Downstairs not as bad. Didn't seem to be anywhere where no smoking was adhered to. We left smelling like smoke.

Steve Lazere (7/5): Decent place to stay - Room was pretty comfortable. Staff very nice. Attached to a casino, so we didn’t have to go far to find a place to eat in challenging weather. Cost more than I would have preferred to pay, but we needed a place to stay quickly. Rooms are a bit dated, need an upgrade.

kimberlyhT3124NN (2/5): Terrible - Take a pass. Our non smoking room smelled of smoke. Old and outdated. The front desk was rude and I felt like I was in a bad movie. Got up early to leave. Room was dingy and bed was horrible. The food was like I’ve never had before. Frozen veggies and my husband said the fish was something he couldn’t eat. No Ruthie's or top notch rooms like many casinos. Just sad.

Cathy (8/5): - Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Quite a ways to walk to the casino area. Had to put room key in a slot to be able to turn lights on - that was different. Had to ask for an iron, but most people probably don't use one.

I didn’t have a pet but it was the last non smoking room so I took it but every couple hours there was a dog across the hall barking, waking me up.

John (6/5): Just an Okay stay - I reserved a non smoking room, but unfortunately the whole place smells of smoke. So you cannot get away from that. The beds are very uncomfortable. The bathrooms were clean and nice. Night stand did have someone else’s hair on it, which grosses me out. The coffee shop by the casino was not open early (6am) which was too bad.

B2967KTbryann (8/5): Nice Hotel ! - The hotel room was spacious, and clean. Check in was fast and friendly. All the staff at the hotel and casino was very nice. We had a nice little walk out patio with chairs and a nice view of the lake. The casino was small, crowded and smoky. I have been to quite a few Iowa casinos, and this was one of the smallest,so I probably won't come back if I am planning on gambling. However, for a nice hotel to stay at, with the cool lake view, the hotel is very nice, and I would recommend it.
