• Chris法国 (7/5): Good Value/Price in Shenyang for short term stay - The room is simple but comfortable enough and clean. The temperature inside the hotel is fine. Easy reservation through the application, and fast check-in and check-out. The really negative point is the cleanliness of the entrance, corridors and elevators. It's clear that this hotel is not a 5 stars, and we don't there for that, nevertheless it is important to maintain the building in a decent aspect of cleanliness. Hopefully, it can be improved very easily.

• Vinson888 (8/5): Great location! - We stayed for 4 nights, hotel is located within walking distance to Liaoning Industrial Exihibition Center. Great location for those attending trade show events. Room was clean, the bathroom had a wall constructed with glass bricks. Breakfast provided was decent with a variety of choices ranging from western to Chinese. Lots of restaurants, convenient stores, banks and Carefour is located on the same block. Carefour is attached to a mall and we found another mall located opposite the hotel. Overall a pleasant and convenient stay!

• 387ChrisM (6/5): Fine hotel but hot at night - A business colleague and I shared a Superior room with two twin beds (these rooms are also available with a single larger bed). The beds were comfortable and the comforter pillows were amazing. We had plenty of electric outlets, a good thing since we're both on CPAP machines. Internet access in our room was reliable and fast. Although we did not see non-smoking rooms available during the online reservation process, they were offered at check in so that was a relief. Make sure you're OK with translucent glass bathroom walls--I took a little ribbing for that. Sadly, the air conditioning was inefficient during the day and seemed to switch it off entirely overnight. During our June 2017 stay we could usually get the temperature down to about 77F before going to sleep, but it was always 80F when we woke up in the mornings. The included breakfast buffet was nice. A good variety of Asian and Western offerings; I enjoyed fried eggs with sausage (a sweet Asian style) and fried rice most mornings along with some fruit and yogurt, but also saw noodles, vegetables, congee, and some sort of noodle soup bar, along with steamed rice buns and others. There was a delicious fruit tea I hadn't been familiar with before. The hotel staff were responsive and helpful. Most didn't speak much English, but they'd always find someone who did very quickly. They all had a clear desire to be helpful.

• GLLK54 (6/5): It Was OK... - The location is in Heping District and is very near to Mix City if you need shopping, It is catered to the natives. Very few forgieners stay here. The English is not that good, but, I would give then an 'E' for effort. The breakfast is again, catered to the locals, the only sign of western breakfast is bacon on a toast. Room service was ok also, Although they have a non smoking policy, the room 2016 which I stayed had 'that' smell. But turn on the ventation and problem solved... The only good thing about this hotel is that it is very near a bar called Ole Ole Bar and Restruarant. In fact, I only noticed this one and only bar in the area. There are loads of eatries in the area and Starbucks is a five miute walk away.

The lift was extremely slow, but I liked the fact that you had to use your door key to get access to the bedroom floors.The breakfast was very Chinese, little if you want a more Western style it was quite limited.

• Alex_Yuan10 (6/5): Just match the expectatoin - This hotel has good location to CBD and airport, the breakfast is just so so as we know about express Holiday Inn. Overall, it just match our expectation, however I don't have high expectation for this brand. a little bit over price, I don't know why it is much more expense than Holiday Inn of City in official website, but it is not great as I thought. Let me find the reason next time when I stay at Shenyang.
• HappyTrip20 (6/5): Ok HI, need better cleaning of the Lobby washroom - Check in was good and efficient. Used the Lobby Washroom.... Oh my... You suddenly downgraded to a roadside motel. Room was ok but broken shampoo dispenser and used half-empty bottles...... Only one night. And it is close to the airport. Got welcome fruits which was a nice touch.

• LouisW967 (4/5): Meh - I was mortified when I found out that client's secretary had booked me in this hotel for 1 night. Even though the hotel is relatively new, my room wasn't thoughtfully designed, especially the bathroom. Instead of a walk-in shower, there is a tub that is quite high to climb into. Yet, somehow, water spills all over the bathroom floor and the shower curtain already smells of mildew. Breakfast offering caters to Chinese clientele and very basic. Internet speed is not great. Note to self, next trip to Shenyang, book Grand Hyatt myself.
• TerriM248 (2/5): Worst experience with this brand ever - Smokers hotel. If you don't want to be barraged with smokers, don't stay there. I booked a no-smoking room. The hotel put me in a smoking room. I asked to be moved. They moved me to the non-smoking second floor --- overlooking the heavy machinery and construction outside -- which also blocked the entrance to the hotel. I could not hear my friend standing next to me in the room over the noise. I asked to be moved again. They said they only had a few non-smoking rooms and they all overlooked the street construction. I asked for a room that might have been empty for a couple of days - not occupied by a smoker. It still smelled of stale smoke, but was better than the first one. I did not sleep well. The next morning, the walls were vibrating from a loud pounding. The adjoining building was also under construction. The hotel had provided no notice in advance and no notice on check-in that there was going to be building-shaking noise. I asked once more if there were any rooms that were quiet. They moved me to another room that they "guaranteed" was quiet. Maybe... not. That afternoon I went out. When I came back, there were three men in the lobby, smoking. This is a violation of local regulations (and there are plenty of placards stating so) -- no smoking in common areas --- effective May 1, 2011. Yet the hotel did nothing, and when one of the men started to get on the elevator with his lit cigarette, the hotel again did nothing. In fact, they laughed at me when I objected to the smoker. The next morning the walls were shaking again. I had planned to do some laundry - one of the reasons I chose this hotel is they have a self-service laundry. So I bought my laundry coins. I planned to check out as soon as I finished. But there was one more insult the hotel had for me. The machine did not register 45 minutes drying time for my second load as it had for the first load. The second one was only 15 minutes. I called the front desk. They sent the worst non-service person ever. She only wanted to argue about the situation, claiming she did not understand what the problem was. I had explained it to her (in the local language) five times and was becoming really annoyed when another hotel employee came in -- her manager maybe. She started discussing the problem with him... so yes, clearly she understood. I was outraged. I told her to stop wasting my time and either use her key-card to add 30 minutes to my time or get me another coin. Finally, after another 10 minutes, she went to get a coin. I took my clothes as soon as they were dry enough to pack and checked out of the hotel. The "free" night they promised me for all the room changes disappeared. Then, they tried to hand me a receipt showing I had paid nothing when in fact, they had just charged my credit card. I had to ask for a proper receipt showing I had paid in full. With the construction, the room changes, the smokers, and the arguments from the hotel staff, my business trip was ruined. I got almost nothing done. I will never ever stay at that hotel for any reason again.
• Balaji (6/5): Business Hotel - To begin with we arrived at Shenyang Railway Station and waiting in line over an hour to be whisked by the taxi. The taxi driver did not speak english, we showed him the hotel name written in chinese. He called the number that was in our reservation. The phone number and the hotel address was WRONG, printed on the reservation by Expedia. Here goes our only chance of reaching the hotel. We tried to tell him 'Holiday Inn' he had no clue and here we are driving on the road. He called his dispatcher and talked to him and somehow said 'ok'. Then we saw Grand Hyatt and asked him to stop there hoping there might be someone in Hyatt who spoke English so they can tell our taxi driver where the hotel is, somehow the Hyatt guys knew where Holiday Inn was and asked him to make a right. Long story short we reached our hotel and the only person to THANK is the taxi driver. He was really nice. We complained this to the Holiday Inn General Manager Dickson Song about the wrong phone number and address, he said he will call expedia and change it. I hope they did. So our only advise to anyone who books this hotel is to ensure the phone number and address is right. Also if you do not speak Chinese translate the hotel name and address in chinese to show it to the taxi drivers.
• Peter Smith (6/5): Only very average for Holiday Inn Express... - I was little disappointed with the stay at this hotel. The front desk staff have real problem with Engllish and not even able to understand what a King bed is. We were allocated twice to twin rooms... The hotel is right in the middle of a building site next door and road dug up outside. Did not have a plesant stay but was only for 1 night with a early plane to catch. I would definitely look elsewhere next time.
• frank (10/5): Great place to stay - The hotel was great the room was what I expected the hotel staff went out of their way to make sure that you were taken care of. The lady that did the cleaning was great and had a great personality with a beautiful smile. My friend ANni and myself were happy with our stay and would stay there again everything was a 10. In my book, except there were no eggs to cook in the morning. We are in Beijing at holiday inn express and am very happy here as well
• Mark_in_Asia74 (8/5): If you get a good price excellent choice - The Holiday Inn is brand new and located on the main street leading North in Shenyang. Bus stop in front of the hotel, subway and Carrefour a 5 minute walk. Rooms are big and clean but a little cold. No fridge but a big safety box in the room. Breakfast very basic but at least served until 10am, even by then you must get lucky on items like milk and bread. The main problem is the noise due to a construction next door that goes 24/7 and has delivery of heavy construction items always after midnight (less traffic), which is very noisy. Also the workers gather at 6am behind the hotel for a breakfast and as the hotel only occupies the lower 6 floors you participate at their loudly discussions as if they were in your room. There is also a mosquito problem apparently coming through the ventilation system so keep the aircon cool and the anti mosquito poison plugged in. Staff was very friendly even English is limited. I stayed there at an excellent price (350 RMB) but when i wanted to come back it was 50% up, which is overpriced for a second tier city in China and a Holiday Inn Express.

• ladyfifi123 (8/5): Lovely new hotel, basic services - The hotel is very nice, the rooms very comfortable, modern and clean. The complimentary breakfast is quite basic but ok. There is no bar fridge, food room service or restaurant. Pre paid for rooms, no problems checking in, very fast. Cannot order cab from hotel, but I believe this is quite usual, except for busy times it is quite easy to flag a cab from main road. ( Being in a cab in Shenyang can be a terrifying experience) Close to a Carrefour supermarket.
• EstherYeo (6/5): Basic but better than some 4-stars I have seen - Was there for 6 nights and I am pretty satisfied with the overall experience. Clean sheets, varied breakfast every morning, prompt housekeeping just to name a few of the accolades. It's also easy to catch public cabs from here. 5 min away is a Carrefour Supermarket. Unlike some of the other reviews, I actually had no issues with the reception. All spoke comprehensible English and whilst there are limitations, I see positive eagerness to provide the best service possible despite the language barrier. I booked my accommodation online and no problems as well with the whole transaction. Overall, I would say I would go back for a second stay.

• mark7432 (6/5): Should have been 4 stars - This is the usual very nice Holiday Inn Express in China. Very comfortable beds, very good breakfast buffet and room amenities. My major problem was the staff. The staff had only 1 person that could understand and speak some English. She was about 20 and a pleasant person. I asked her about how far was it to the famous 9-18 museum, and she had never even heard of it. The NUMBER1 tourist attraction in Shenyang and she had no clue. Another person knew of it but had no clue how far it was or the taxi fare. Too bad, because I would have rated this place 4 stars if the staff was better
• Foreign Friend (10/5): Within walking distance of shopping, taxi to other - This is the first Holiday Inn in Shen Yang, very comfortable, smart design, good service, friendly staff. We have stayed at other "chain" hotels before at a lower price, but this was the most comfortable stay we have had at a "chain" hotel in China. We recommend it! We also had no phone calls in the night or cards under the door for "other service" which was a good change!
• Sue (8/5): pleasantness - It was pleasant. No deposits required like most hotels require in China. Bed comfortable and the room ambiance serene.
• Ｋ (4/5): 安いけどそれなりのサービス - ほこりは気にならなかったが、長い髪の毛が残っていた。シャワーの仕切りタイル部分の下から水が漏れ、洗面所側が水にぬれた。 部屋の天井に大きなヒビが数箇所あった。 朝食付なのに、朝食に関する説明が何も無く、ミールクーポンの有無など聞かないと説明しない。 インターネット環境ですが、遅いし、他のホテルより制御されているサイトが多い。 エクスペディアに支払い済みなのに、チェックイン時に再度請求された。チェックアウト時にも、エクスペディアからの入金が確認できないと言われ時間が掛かった。さらに入金されないと、日本まで電話するからと電話番号を聞かれた。チェックアウトに時間が掛かり、瀋陽駅近くのバスターミナルからの空港バスに乗り遅れてしまった。
• MattwalesNorthWales (6/5): Great room let down by facilities and service - Booked via the holiday inn website and paid for online or so I thought. On arrival the receptionist wanted paying in cash, and wanted double the price quoted! Eventually I paid the online price again and was told that my online payment would be refunded, I'm still not sure why but this is China! The hotel is brand new, the room was very clean, very warm and very well appointed. After a great night's sleep we were rewarded by a very poor complimentary breakfast. So the excellent room was let down by Chinese red tape and a sub standard catering.
