- David (10/5): Ok for the price. - Good location. Room was comfortable and clean. I had two rooms, and one was a handicap accessible room. When the shower was used the entire bathroom flooded. It created a very dangerous situation, and required the use of all the towels to dry it up enough to walk on.

- Selenthea (6/5): Horrible staff - Well this hotel has smoking and no smoking room. I picked no smoking room because that was all that was available online. Knowing that some hotel only put a number of hotels online. Some when checking in the lady at the desk asked md did i want smoker or no smoking room. I assumed there was a smoking available. So i paid and little to my surprise she booked me in a non smoking room, so i called the front desk to inquire. She tells me in nasty tone " i put u what u booked for" i said but u just asked me if i wanted a smoking room and stated yes but instead u put me in a non smoking. But then tells me i have one available but at a higher cost. The point is the money wasn't a issue it the nasty way she talk to me. She tried to tell me every room in was booked up. I stayed at this hotel the whole weekend and there were no more than 6 cars on the whole lot the whole weekend. There were room all around me empty. Now with all that being the hotel was clean. But staff made my experience horrible

- Stephen (8/5): Good value for the money - The price, layout, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, handicap shower setup, the TV. All good except shower drainage. We stayed in a handicapped room, so it had a walk-in shower with bench (great!), BUT the way the shower floor slants, the water runs toward the toilet and bedroom. Water leaked through the bedroom wall, so carpet was wet. (Carpet was wet before we even showered from previous guest use). Slipped on bathroom floor, but didn't fall - whew! 2 recommendations: Fix shower drainage and paint a yellow line on uneven sidewalk ledge right in front of room. (Hard to notice that there is a step down. Dangerous, especially in front of handicapped room.)

I woke up in the night due to a very strong weed smell, it came right through the walls and air ducts. I was not able to sleep it was so strong, and I have a small baby with me whom I was worried it would both. It didn't seem like the safest place and I would not stay again.

Room is clean and nicely decorated, bed is comfortable, property is very quiet even though it's directly across from an all-night restaurant, convenience store/gas station/truck stop, and right at an I-20 exit. Owners are extremely nice and were even smiling when I arrived after midnight! Highly recommend the Sunriser Inn, Kilgore, Texas! Nothing I didn't like about my stay.

If you need a cheap stay this is the place. but i would have shelled out another 20-30 bucks a night to be able to get sleep.
- Alan (2/5): - Welcome to the 1980s! When I arrived to check in, the woman said I have to fill out a piece of paper with the same information that I already registered on my Expedia profile. And it's the same information that's already printed on my driver license she was holding. I told her that her hotel already has all of this information, so why should I waste time writing it on a piece of paper? She just said that everyone has to do it. If it weren't so late at night, I would have walked out right then. Does Expedia's software not work in Kilgore, like it works everywhere else in the country? If not, when did it become MY job to fill out little pieces of paper that I don't want? She can fill it out later, after I've gone to bed. That's like handing you a mop and bucket and telling guests that they're supposed to mop the floor of their room. Also, the lobby was always locked, day and night. They have dispensers for coffee and hot water and tea in the lobby; you're just not allowed to access them. There are better hotels out there. Avoid this one.

- Parsons (3/5): Poor - Location Chair inside room 215 was broken. After long day came home to find Dish TV wasn't working. Cable connection spliced results poor connection. When notified next morning at checkout attendant said sorry can't do anything. I mentioned that sometimes things don't always work but establishment has an opportunity to make it okay. She said they weren't willing to do anything. Poor customer service!!

I had a dirty towel in my restroom, when I got out of the shower the towel had dirt marks on it. THE SHOWER WATER IS TERRIBLE. The water is slimy. I could not get off the layer of slime it was leaving on my body. The bed sheets had an unpleasant smell. I only needed a room for a few hours to get some rest during my road trip , but I would NOT stay here again.
- Anonymous (1/5): lady is a scammer - Nothing! don’t even waste your time at this location.They do not stand by there offers. booked a stay online and payed. once’s I arrived at the location I was asked to re-due the booking and was told check out would be in a few hours and was forced into accepting due to how late it was and and drain of energy. in other word you book and pay and when you show up it’s a while different situation. there money hungry and inconsiderate and un professional.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Very disappointed - Not sure how this property got the ratings that are posted, but I reserved a single king room, I was given a queen double, the property was not busy at all. Bathroom light out, recliner was torn and would not stay closed, no trash can liners in trash cans.

The lady said I booked a smoking room and so she charged me ten dollars extra for a non smoking room. I really don't understand this because it takes less to clean up after non smokers. Anyway we were tired and so I just paid it.

When I traveled with I-20 in Texas, I felt lucky to find this hotel and reserved the afternoon for my night. Overall, the quality of the hotel is miserable. Those are examples of errant things - It looks like bed bugs on the bed, the gym was closed and used for a storage room, equipment such as an iron and an iron board were not there, the area looks not nice, and the breakfast was not provided. The TV is old, the channel is minimal and does not work well. I cannot trust the score and the review here.
