• Philip (6/5): Acceptable, but I won't be reutrning. - Location was good - assuming you want to be in the area of Penn station / Madison Sq. Gardens. Concierge was very helpful, as were the cleaning staff. B'fast was very limited and of poor'ish quality; some days they ran out of what was already a very limited offering. Room small for 2 people - even Tokyo was bigger. And worst of all, there were no hooks to hang up coats on the wall as you come in. Wardrobe was okay; there was only one small desk chair. I also noticed on 2 nights of our 9 night stay that the daily rate was almost double - and it wasn't a weekend.

The location couldn't be better, with Times Square and the Empire State Building both within walking distance, making it incredibly easy to explore the city. It also has a really nice rooftop that is great to visit at night and get an amazing view of the city. Having breakfast included was a wonderful bonus that saved us both time and money each morning. The room itself was lovely, and the shower in particular was a real highlight. Lastly, we had a late flight on checkout day, they kindly let us leave our luggage for free so we could keep enjoying the city without any hassle. Highly recommend for anyone visiting NYC. On the flip side, the room faced an alley with no natural light, not unusual for New York, and honestly not a dealbreaker since we spent most of our time out exploring the city. We also opted for an early check-in, which carries a $75 fee. Again, pretty standard for NYC, and the hotel communicated this clearly in advance so it came as no surprise.

• Sarah (8/5): Pleasant stay, great location, communication at check in could of been better - Great location and spacious rooms for NYC. Penn train station is directly opposite the hotel and a sub just outside to the left. Nice walk into Times Square. Considering MSG is over the road, it was quiet on an evening. We were in room 1009 on the front and had no issues at all. Bed was super comfy (I am a massive bed snob). I slept well & comfortable throughout our stay. Bathroom was a good size. Clean and basic toiletries of soap, body wash & shampoo & conditioner included. The bottled water left in your room is charged at $5 per bottle. Target is a block or two away so we just went there to purchase. Breakfast was plentiful and of good quality. Always replenished quickly and efficiently. The servers were so lovely and kept the place looking clean at all times. We were handed blue bands to gain access to breakfast but these were pointless. They weren’t checked on the first day so we didn’t take them for the remainder of our stay and had no issues. All staff were polite & friendly. The gentleman who helped with storing our luggage especially was very warm and welcoming. Telling me to be safe any time I left the hotel which I thought was really lovely of them. The ladies in the breakfast hall as mentioned were also so lovely too. The biggest annoyance I had was at check in. Although check in was smooth & prompt, he gentleman asked for a card for the $100 hold fee which was fine. I provided my credit card. We weren’t offered the complimentary bottled water that we witnessed others were. However, on check out, I was told our account had been settled in full and they money taken from said credit card. Very annoyed as the gentleman on check in didn’t mention this would be the case and only stipulated it was for the hold deposit. Due to this, we have now been charged a ‘foreign transaction fee’ by Virgin. I did express at check out that I wasn’t informed of this and I would now be charged additional fees. (Was planning to pay with our Stirling account to avoid said fees), however it was too late. The water refill machine down near the gym is terrible. It’s so slow and the water didn’t taste great. This wouldn’t put me off staying here but it definitely could do with improvement.

The speed of personal work needs some improvement, we got the fridge by request it is good, but we requested twice, also we had the issue with youtube connection on TV, we asked for help, we were said that the helper will get in the room to see the problem and no one came 🤣

Should not be on request. A microwave would be nice too. For 300-400 per night all in, these should be included.

Parking was reasonably priced which Marriott covered. Subway entrance was a short walk from location. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was Excellent (very well stocked and looked after). Room was on the back side which didn't have a view. If you went to rooftop when Restaurant/Bar was open. The views up there were Excellent (you can get some good sunset pics). Rooms were very small but understandable.

• cobblecpots (4/5): Health Concern - I'll start with the pluses. Our room had a nice view. The breakfast was good for our needs and the breakfast staff was amazing. Top scores for them. Now, the minuses: This property is well aware their elevators are a problem. I've seen it in many reviews. Get them fixed instead of ignoring them. Our room was OK. But I was shocked that it didn't come with a refrigerator. Come on! Don't be that cheap! People need to stay hydrated. My daughter and I went through several gallons of water during our time there. It would have been nice if it had been refrigerated. The artwork in 1005 is water damaged. I'm just affronted by this. Who keeps a piece of artwork in a frame when there is water damage? Now, the MAJOR PROBLEM. I normally stay in another brand hotel. I didn't book this so I was along for the ride. I have never had a problem using the provided products in the shower. The first night of the stay I washed my hair and used the body wash. Suddenly, my arm started to itch and when I looked it was broken out in hives. I looked at the containers and then noticed they contained Eucalyptus. I've never, in all my years traveling for leisure and business, come across a hotel using an in room product with Eucalyptus. I'm very allergic to Eucalyptus. I was absolutely flabbergasted to see a product with it in it. I alerted the front desk and showed them how red my arm was especially where I had a scar from a recent surgery. The response was generally bumbling and "well, we can't do any thing". Meanwhile, I'm left with a very itchy arm, a picture that has water damaged on it, and a room without a refrigerator. Not my best experience.

Centrally located to many other sites and restaurants within walking distance. The view may be lovely from the upper floors but the rooftop bar has loud disruptive music until late. The free breakfast was inedible. Food was cold and poorly prepared. We tried it our first morning and skipped it the rest of our stay.

L’hôtel bénéficie d’un emplacement vraiment idéal. Situé à proximité immédiate de Penn Station, il est très facile de se déplacer en métro, et Times Square est accessible à pied en 15–20 minutes. C’est clairement le point fort de cet établissement et nous avons beaucoup apprécié cet aspect. Concernant la chambre, elle est correcte dans l’ensemble. Toutefois, les lits queen size sont un peu petits pour deux adultes, ce qui peut être inconfortable. La salle de bain est satisfaisante et le service de ménage est bon. En revanche, nous avons été très déçus par la gestion du petit déjeuner. Nous avons été informés au dernier moment de travaux dans la salle dédiée, ce qui a fortement impacté notre séjour. Pendant 3 jours sur 5, le petit déjeuner était très limité, avec très peu de choix, et devait être pris dans le lobby, où il y avait très peu de place. Nous avons dû à plusieurs reprises manger debout ou emporter notre petit déjeuner. C’est d’autant plus regrettable que nous avions choisi cet hôtel en partie pour le petit déjeuner inclus, et au vu du prix payé (environ 1700 CHF pour 5 nuits), un geste commercial aurait été justifié. Un petit réfrigérateur dans la chambre aurait également été appréciable.

• W8190HTvictorz (10/5): An amazing hotel - This hotel was one of my favorites on the East Coast. Just a disclaimer, I went here in mid 2023, not this year, (it wouldn’t let me set the date that far back.) The hotel rooms were good, with some amenities and a larger room than I expected. That’s not my favorite part though. The on site activities were AMAZING. Especially the rooftop bar. I got a mocktail, and it was one of the best that I had ever had! Its location is also in the middle of everything, and is also good for shorter trips, due to its proximity to the Moynihan Train Hall. This is why I love this hotel.

• Daria Kalmykova (4/5): Would not recommend this hotel - The location is the only pro. The room had a strong sewage odor. I reported it to the front desk, but nothing was done to address the issue. The staff didn’t seem interested in helping and were not particularly friendly. Breakfast options were very limited, with almost nothing edible and it’s not an overstatement. The bread and pancakes tasted almost like plastic. The only pastries available were prepackaged muffins, and overall, the food quality was very poor. Additionally, the bedsheet had a hole. Overall, the hotel does not feel like a 4-star property.

The toilet was clogged and the bathroom plug was malfunctioning, requiring several calls and over an hour’s wait before someone came to fix it. The breakfast room was under renovation, and the reduced offering was quite mediocre — they even ran out of milk at 8:30 am. The rooftop bar was also closed and inaccessible. As a Bonvoy member, my stay did not meet the minimum Marriott standards I expect (to clarify, the free upgrade and late check- out for gold members was granted after requesting it)

• Marcie (8/5): Hotel - The staff was nice. We had an issue in our room. We went to the front desk and they moved us to another room. Once we got to the other room there was a sign on the door saying not to enter until management approval. We had to go back down to get a manager and I asked him to escort me up to look at the room.

• Sanjeet (7/5): Great location, large rooms, breakfast not so great - Good central location so travel to main attractions doesn’t take long. Walking distance to MSG and Times Square. Close to subway stations, and right opposite Penn Station for Amtrak and Long Island Rail Road. Large, spacious room. Friendly staff that allowed us to have a late check out with no problems. Requested a fridge for our room which was also supplied quickly. Breakfast wasn’t great as the only vegan options were cereal and fruit. They were undergoing maintenance so the breakfast was located in the lobby so maybe they usually have more options but on this occasion options were very limited. Room doors closed very loudly so constant banging was very annoying as hotel guests were not very considerate.

Metro a pasos del alojamiento, lugar super limpio y hermoso, personal auxiliar que hablaba español demasiado amable y cálidos en mi recibimiento. Personal de recepción no tan amable al intentar comunicarse con alguien que no habla bien inglés.

• SammyH81 (8/5): Great New York hotel - Great location close to Madison square garden & Penn station. Room was quiet & dark - couldn't hear too much of the city noises. Breakfast was served just in hotel foyer on weekdays with not much variety - weekend breakfast was better.
