Guest Reviews
- KCW (8/5): - Close to many interesting places. The street was too narrow for bus pick-up or drop-off but close to two plazas. Bread was vvery good.
- Thibault (6/5): - Personnel accueillant et serviable, déjeuner très bon, literie ancienne avec matelas ressort trop vieux. Salle de bain avec l'essentiel mais peu d'eau chaude.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Stayed in a windowless room next to the kitchen. Loud noises from staff preparing breakfast started at 5am. Bedsheets had crust and dirt on them.
The location was great, but you can probably find a better place to stay in cusco.
- Seth (10/5): Great value - This was a fun hostel as it is also a bakery. It's in a great location being a few blocks away from the Plaza de armas. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They allowed my wife and I to keep our bags at the hostel a few night before we actually checked in while we were at machu picchu. They keep the building door locked at all times which makes you feel secure. My only knock against it is that the bed's were kinda hard. Great value though for the price.
- nathalie (8/5): ne pas hésiter. - Très bon accueil, petit déjeuner excellent ( copieux et leurs pains maison sont délicieux ). A deux pas du centre ville.
- Bruno (2/5): - It is the first time I give a 1 to a hotel: We booked the place because the one we wanted was booked out after our trek, so we decided to stay in a hotel closeby (booked 5 days ahead).
When we arrived at 1am, the guy told me, that unfortunately they do not have a room. It was not really the fact that the hotel was overbooked (I think that is common practice in Cuzco), but the way he treated us, which made me give a 1. First he claimed not to work together with Hotels.com, even though we had made a reservation through it.. He then was only calling some hotels which were quite far and it took more than 45 minutes of discussion until he finally cleaned a room right next to the reception which we could use for the night. The room was quite okay, but extremly noisy early in the morning. The ladies who were there the next morning were very friendly, but I can definitely not recommend staying at this place.
- Arthur (8/5): Hostel bom, indico, mas poderia melhorar - O hostel poderia ter melhores travesseiros e banheiros, o resto está ok.
- Peder (8/5): Perfectly central and quiet in old part of town - OK value for money. Friendly staff and good rooms.
- Juliet (10/5): Amazing Stay - We had such a good time here. The staff were super friendly and really helpful. All of the facilities were great and always kept clean. Beds were comfy. The breakfast was the best bit - fresh bread every morning with great coffee too. We were really sad to leave!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Recomend - Good service, .....and good bred.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great place - Helpful staff
Good location
- Jennifer (10/5): Good Hostel - We really enjoyed our stay at Pantastico. the location is great, there are many nearby restaurants and it's very safe.
- Matt (6/5): Nice staff and food, rooms just ok - I chose Pantastico because I like fresh bread. Who doesn't like fresh bread? Also the rates for a double room were reasonable. My wife and I stayed two nights there, went trekking for several days, then came back and stayed three more nights. They stored our luggage for free, which was nice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - très bien situé. accueil sympayhique, pains frais le matin (faits sur place)
- sako (6/5): Hostel in Cusco - The staff were very friendly but for the cost I don't think it was worth it. The hot water was temperamental, the rooms were cold, and the walls were so thin you could hear everything.
- Jacqueline (8/5): Very Homely - We only stayed one night on our way to Macchu Picchu. We were able to check in real early after our night bus from Arequipa . Breakfast was simple but effective, lovely fresh bread from the bakery. The aroma of the bakery fills the hostel.
I'd say it was quite cool in the hostel so maybe make sure you are wearing a few layers. It's close to Plaza de Armas and all the narrow streets with beautiful little restaurants. Definitely a good choice for a short break.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Quaint hostel at good location - We stayed here for 2 days before heading to MP. The staff was very friendly and provided us with cocoa tea and baked goods every morning (yum!). While the floors are creeky with its age, the beds were comfortable, the room was clean and painted colorfully, and there was always hot water to shower. For the excellent price that we paid, Pantastico was more than a bargain. We also liked its proximity to the San Blas market, being right across from an great vegetarian restaurant and just down the street from Pachapapa Restaurant. While it was a bit of a trek up from the main Plaza de Armas being up on a hill, it was no more than 10mins walk so it was nice to be away from the main crowded area.
- Alex (8/5): Great location, friendly atmosphere - The hostel was nice and clean. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. There was complimentary breakfast and wifi. The room I stayed in had two shared bathrooms. The water was hot and the facility was clean, which is what we cared about. It's close to the city center. I would definitely stay here again.
- Helen (8/5): Great Location - We arrived at the hostal at 6.15am in the morning which was earlier than their book in time. The staff were in the midst of preparing breakfast (which they offered to us) but they took the time to find us a spare room so that we could rest until book in. The staff were pleasant at all times and the breakfast was great. Fresh bread from the oven, which was incidentally directly under our room which meant that we had lovely heated tiles underfoot. Room was quite big and even though it looked out over the roofs of other buildings we had a great view of the hills.
Location was in San Blas area and we found it quick and easy to negotiate the town. Close to Central Square but for the first day or so don't forget if you go down to the square you have to then climb a fairly steep street to get back to hostal. Excellent vegetarian restaurant directly opposite entrance to hostal and would recommend their lunch time special and all other meals. Value for money.
- Verified traveler (8/5): OK stay - It was good for the price. But next time I will spend a bit more.
