Guest Reviews
- jeremy (10/5): Beautiful and great location - It was wonderful and the view was spectacular!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The elevator wasn't working the entire time of my visit. It was extremely cold outside and we had to lift our bags in and out during our entry and exit from the place. I was also charged extra on my credit card for no reason.
- Nancy (6/5): Not worth the price - Much smaller then website pictures!
A hassle to check-in .. Then go take
Shuttles - To anywhere U need to go..
If don’t have car. I was very disappointed
- Minh (2/5): Deceiving - The online picture is very deceiving. The resort is self does not stand up to what is showing on line.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place to stay - The room was beautiful and the resort was amazing. Wish we could have stayed for more than one night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I enjoyed my stay here. One thing that made this stay uncomfortable was there was no air conditioner so it was hot in the room.
- Tania (2/5): Horrible stay - Too lengthy and cumbersome check in
No ac didn't work
No toiletries in bathroom like shampoo or lotion
Old building
Hot room
Asked for a little later check in they said no
- Cid (6/5): not as advertised - The room was beautiful, accommodating and new. Bed was comfortable, shower head was great, dining table was convenient. However, there was virtually no view from either the living room or bedroom. I came for a view, having that impression from the website. We saw a chair lift from one side and a solitary view of a concrete block wall.
- Janis (10/5): Fantastic Vacation Place for Couples and zfamily - My husband and I really enjoyed our stay and agreed to come back. The room had so many appliances, storage space, comfort bed, and it felt like we were in an apartment. We really enjoyed the views and the staff were very informative to where to visit. We hive the Ridge Resorts a 10 for the rate. Thank you for your recommendation for a hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is not a motel room, it is a small one bedroom fully furnished and outfitted apartment with a beautiful view.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to skiing not casinos - We stayed here in may 17. The hotel is part of the ridge group. There's no lobby at this location or staff. It's kind of strange you check in down the road and then come back to your room. There's absolutely no amenities at this location aside from a game room with barely anything. The room was 3 out of 5 for clean. The kitchen was clean , the couch blinds and pillows seemed dirty . The blinds were brown from dirt and stains the couch seemed old and the pillows had hair on them. The room was exactly as pictured . Large with kitchen. I don't know if I'd come back for the price. It's nice for a long ski weekend to have the kitchen. It's about 15 minutes from casinos .
We went to FOX AND HOUND restaurant by the hotel. Really good ! Check that out.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location next to Heavenly Ski Resort - Great location next to Heavenly's Stagecoach ski lift. Room was clean and comfortable. Shower ran out of hot water too fast to wash hair. No shampoo, conditioner, shower gel or coffee left in room. We had to call 2-3 times to get shampoo. They offer coffee filters, but no coffee. Even after housekeeping service, they didn't always leave shampoo or coffee.
- Shante (2/5): Filthy - There was hair left on the pillow from the previous guest. Housekeeping didnt even change the pillow cases. My wife and I had to change the sheets and sleep with several towels over our pillows at 1 in the morning. ( luckily there was sheets and pillows in the closet(who knows if those were even clean? :(
- Verified traveler (4/5): Poor Service - Hotel Front Desk staff was rude, unorganized, and inefficient. I reserved a two night stay, but they booked me in two separate one night stays instead. Which meant that my key expired after the checkout time during my second day, and I had to call the front desk (which is on top of the mountain) to send someone to bring a key. Instead of just sending someone, they proceeded to tell me that it wasn't their fault that I was booked in two separate days, and that it's their common practice. When I said "That doesn't really make sense..." they just argued with me.
- brent (2/5): Bad customer service and false advertising - This hotel shows pictures of nice rooms which they were..... But also shows a lobby, clubhouse, and places to eat and lounge. While all that is located near by it is annoying that you either have to drive there or call for their shuttle to pick you up. I would have never chosen this hotel if I had known the inconvenience in their location. Plus my wife is pregnant elevator was out of service so it was a dangerous walk up a bunch of stairs and cat walks to get to our room and didn't sleep well with people jumping up and down it sounded like right above our heads. And management has yet to call me back regarding my complaints
- greg (2/5): Not very good. - It was hard to find the office to check in. Room was old and furniture warn and dirty. Electricity went out at dinnertime and stayed out. Hotel would not compensate for that.
- Hope (8/5): Great - The staff were friendly and helpful. They have a shuttle to get you around property a definite plus.
- Julia (10/5): Great stay - Very quiet. Peaceful. Wildlife to wake up to. Great fireworks display over S. Lake Tahoe.
- Marcy (2/5): Ridge Crest on Tramway--sketchy! - I requested a non-ground floor, I'm a single female. My room was on the ground floor of a sketchy, dark, creepy desolate decrepit building. Lot's of cars and buses, vans driving by, very loud. I could not imagine feeling safe or being able to sleep.
The manager was fantastic at the main office. She found a cancellation and worked with me and put me in a beautiful, clean, safe, quiet classy room. The front desk people were super helpful, pleasant, and understanding.
The photos of Ridge Crest are very misleading! Beware.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, nice room great for family trips
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent! Shared with my family n friends! - We weren't told which Ridge it was so we went to the first one and it was the wrong one. The correct Ridge was the next above, Pointe.
It felt strange to not speak to live person but only over the phone, then to open the mailbox knowing that there was another envelope shared with me. Yikes!! Overall, loved the place. Too bad it was only an overnight visit, but I would highly recommend the Suite!!! Beautiful during winter snow!!!
- Calvin (10/5): Great Vacation!! - The Ridge is great place for any getaway. The resort consists of several different buildings located around the Heavenly Stagecoach lift. There's an awesome shuttle that comes around to take you the lodge, clubhouse, ski lift, casinos, pools (indoor and outdoor)...pretty much anything within the area. We didn't need to get in our car after arriving at the resort. There's even a mini market for small grocery items you may have forgotten. We stayed in a suite that was fully stocked with pots, pans, fridge, coffee maker, soap, sponge...pretty much everything you need to cook and stay. The ONLY downside would be contacting reception by phone - they are frequently busy and have to take down your number and call you back. If you need something urgent you'll have go to the reception area (in the clubhouse) and talk to them face to face. So it's best to have all your questions ready when you check-in.
- Tom (10/5): Steps Away from 5 Star Skiing/Boarding - This hotel looks ok on the outside, I was a little nervous pulling in, but the room was very spacious and nicely updated. Great little kitchenette with place settings for several people, a 4 chair table, couch and TV in the living room, great gas fire place and plenty of closet space in hallway and bedroom. They had a sleep number King Size bed with another TV in bedroom. Bathroom was clean and had many extra towels under the sink but no Shampoo or Conditioner was provided. Overall it was a great stay.
- Isabelle (8/5): Nice Condo-Hotel with Great Amenities - The hotel is about 3 miles up the mountain, which may not seem much, but could be a long windy drive for the dark, cold, icy days in the winter; but an easy drive during the non-snowy months. This is a condo/timeshare hotel so the rooms are very large and roomy, the kitchens have everything you need, and the amenities are great! The downside was that they gave us the parking passes, but there was no parking available! Also, they are strict about the check out time at 10 am. At 10:15 am, someone was already knocking on our door! We were just lugging snowboarding gear to the car, and maybe got a little distracted by the football playoffs so were slow in the loading, but lady...CHILL.
- Amanda (10/5): Best hotel yet - We arrived after dark so it was a bit harder to see where to check in. Traveling for our anniversary, we booked a suite, which was quite roomy. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub which was also spacious. The hotel had a tram that ran every hour, which was perfect for visiting state line and casinos. There view from our room was breathtaking. I would definitely stay here again.
- joe C (8/5): Mountain tip top - Crazy comfy older place tahoe ridge is very nice the bathrooms were very clean as well
- Char (10/5): Great Rate, Wonderful view, great location - we have a very pleasant experience. rate was great, location great, relaxing, and has all the amenities you need. the only reason i have staff/service 4 stars is because the check in process was quite confusing, you have to drive up to the hotel, walk into their lobby, pick up the phone and call some #. then they give you a code to open your lock box that has all your paperwork and keys to the room. i had to drive back & forth from several of their sister hotels to get a hold of someone.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointing.... - We bought this as an anniversary gift for my parents, when they got there, there were no washcloths in the room. The next day, there was no kitchen washrag, and the third day, they took the towel and washrag from the kitchen. My mom called, and it took them 2 hours to bring them clean ones. The people upstairs kept stomping all over. I realize that's not the hotels fault, but they had to call 2x to security because it was happening late at night. The manager did say he was going to make it right when they checked out, we will see if that happens.
- Stephanie S. (10/5): Destanation Wedding - Amazing room, especially for the price! Great little BBQ restaurant nearby with awesome Bloody Marys. Incredible views as well!
- Verified traveler (10/5): nice getaway - This is not a hotel but a cute condo! Loved it especialy the sleep number bed!
- Verified traveler (8/5): ridge crest - Outside of building looked old, but inside was very nice. Facility has about 8 separate buildings, with the Clubhouse, front desk, etc about a 1/4 mile away and a very hilly walk. They did provide a free shuttle.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely place. Great bed. Difficult to check in - It took us 45 minutes driving around, getting incorrect info from the security booth; the front desk wasn't answering their phone or the late check-in phone. We finally found people staying there who told us to drive way up to the top hotel and ignore the security booth. Once we did that, things went well. Our building wasn't much to look at outside, but it was very nice inside. Great bed! Very pleasant. I'd stay there again now that I know the procedure.
- Summiteer (8/5): Great Off-Season Stay! - If you don't mind, getting off the beaten path at Tahoe, the Ridge Resort is for you. We got a great rate on our mid-week, off-season stay. Ridge Crest has 1-Bedroom Suites that include a beautiful living room and a full kitchen. Both the bed and tub/shower were top-notch. The only gripe I had was that we had to drive some distance to get from our building to the Resort Clubhouse, which had the pool, tennis court and fitness center. The deli at the Resort Clubhouse was so good, we went back the next day for lunch--great food and service from this "one man show". One other benefir: you can access the Tahoe Rim trail and get great views of Lake Tahoe from the Clubhouse. We can't wait to go back next year, this time for 3 nights!!
- Rhonda (10/5): Very comfortable and clean - My fiance who travelled from an overseas country for more than 15 hours was exhausted and wanted to take a shower and sleep. That is what we were expecting. Unfortunately, our key card to our hotel room was not activated. The lady at the front desk seemed a bit lost and not organized. We waited for the security person to help us to have access to our room. :(
- Amanda (8/5): A pleasant and surprising experience! - We arrived in the evening post check in time, and the staff, while friendly, did not seem to know how to handle our check in since we were in a building off site. There was some confusion and a lot of transfering via phone. It was cold outside and the running around did not make for a pleasurable experience.
When we did finally get to our room however, it was beautiful and very clean! We were impressed and satisified.
- Atsuko (10/5): Enjoyed stay - Very clean and impressed.
Kitchen was very cute and had everything we needed.
They only provided 1 day worth of coffee though.... we stayed 2 nights.
So that can be improved.
- RadHart (10/5): comfort and class - Came here for my birthday weekend and was pleasantly surprised! It was snowing outside, so a gas fireplace was just the touch we needed for warmth. Very clean and comfortable. All the luxuries of home.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Superb resort! Nina, the operations manager was awesome! Very helpful and accommodating. Thanks for all her help. We had a great time at the resort!
- Susie (8/5): Hotel is odd but rooms are Top Notch! - Wow sleep number beds and down bedding. Room was beautiful, and spacious. Kitchen and bath gorgeous. Love all the trails for walking/ running. Setting is amazing. Exterior of building needs update and check in process is strange, but this is small price to pay for such a great location and amazing room. Stayed 2 days would have loved longer: will stay here again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing Mountain Getaway! - The rooms were very clean and pristine. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. And the location of this place is amazing as well, it's tucked way up in the mountains above heavenly village, the view is nothing short of amazing! There are plenty of things to do right on the resort as well, good restaurants too. Overall my wife and I loved our stay at the Ridge Crest Resort.
- Ann Gonzalez (8/5): Great place with some problems - We loved the room--one bedroom with kitchen--and we were among the few guests there on a Sunday to Wednesday stay, so it was quiet. On the other hand, both pools and the spa at the clubhouse were closed. The only pool open was in a high and windy location--no fun. Also, one of the concierge girls was rude and snotty and gave us wrong information about the discount on Lake Tahoe cruises, which ended up costing us a few bucks. In general, though, I would return and hope that all the facilities were up and running. Everyone else at the hotel was very nice and helpful.
- KRE8ER (10/5): Has Everything! - Loved this place. Had everything we needed. South Lake Tahoe, Trails & Casino's were just around the corner. Housekeeping cleaned up our unit well. Parking was free, shuttle was there. Clean rooms, full kitchen, friendly staff & awesome stay!
- Cheryl (6/5): Ridge Crest - Nice place, lots of features and activities. The room tempature ruined the stay though.
- Newly weds ck (8/5): Best vacation ever! - Rooms are nice with updated fixtures. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. We volunteered to here their sales pitch. They gave us $150 in vouchers and free Internet for the nine days we were there. The elements spa was out of this world. There were free exercise classes daily. My wife and I will definitely be back
- daFunMan (10/5): Very nice inside - The hotel is a little off the beaten path....but in reality, is only about 4 miles from Harrah's. The inside is maintained well, and like living in a small home.
- Weekend wedding (4/5): Girls weekend - The hotel is beautiful. Staff was great. we stayed in the "Pointe" building. We had a remodeled room and were the first people to use it. Sleep comfort king bed even the pull out sofa was comfy. The only down side of why I probably would not stay here again is that the walls are paper thin. We could hear everything from the room above and next to us. And I do mean EVERYTHING. Also, the trash was picked up at 5:55am making a ton of noise. I would love to give this place a 5 but the noise was so bad and so early it really took away from our enjoyment, so it's a 2.
- Lynn and Cathy (10/5): - Other than we never saw a person, everything is done by phone, no personal contact. This place is amazingly beautiful. Clean, large bed, beautiful furniture, comfort. I think they can put coffe in the rooms.
- yuguo (8/5): Fantastic family getaway - The room is perfect. The location is ok, since we don't ski.
- mr. big daddy (10/5): nice - very friendly staff, condo was well stocked. I would do this again.
Thanks
jim
- JohnC2012 (10/5): Great value! - Pleasantly surprised at how luxurious our 1 br apartment was.
