Jason (8/5): Nice hotel - Nice hotel with friendly staff. Location ok for restaurants and shops but looong walk up to dot or gondola base with ski gear. Lockers tucked away in depths of the hotel. Water was barely warm enough to have a shower so that was a bad experience. But otherwise clean, comfortable enough.

Anthony_Chow (8/5): Reasonable stay in Hirafu - Located in Hirafu, 5 mins walk to 2 ropeways. In the center of city, with restaurants and food trucks with 5 mins walk. Car park just outside the hotel is free. With big onsen though it is also opened to public (paid). One of the Hilafu trail is just at the back of hotel. The men's onsen can be seen by some luxury apartments next to the hotel so beware not to book those apartments :P
Alex (8/5): - the major problem with this hotel is lack of shuttle to take you to the bus station. You have to walk 15 min uphill with all your ski and luggage. it's a pain.
Karly (10/5): - Great ski in ski out location for Niseko Grand Hirafu. So convenient. Easy bus from Sapporo to the hirafu visitor center about a 5 minute walk away also. We loved the private onsen in our room. That turned out to be a highlight. Comfortable beds, clean room. The outside of the hotel looks a little rough. Needs a paint job but everything else was perfect!
Hisham (8/5): - We had a western room for December (final week of early season). It was cold. No idea whether it was just my room or the central air-conditioning/heater is down. The in-room heater was not sufficient to warm the room. Asked for different room but they said they are full booked. Booked this property in July, so I was rather disappointed to be given such room. Front counter gave us a portable heater. That did the work but that thing was constantly in the middle of the room so that we don’t sleep cold. The onsen toilet is yucks. It reeks of urine smell. It’s horrible. And no slippers provided for the toilet….whenever I step into the toilet, it feels like I am stepping on pee stain then I walk all around the changing room. The hotel need to clean the toilet hourly or if not allow the patrons to wear slippers in the changing room. Oh and they don’t provide housekeeping daily. It’s every 3 days. The plus point is, this hotel is near amenities and food. Less than 10mins walk to seicomart and other food options.

Nelly (8/5): Nice traditional experience! - We stayed at a nice traditional room with private oncen. Good size and very comfortable (more than expected) and in great condition. Loved the ski in - ski out experience. Local hotel staff very friendly. The breakfast buffet included many options for most tastes. The hotel also has a public onsen available to guests looking for a more authentic experience.
Yasukiyo (10/5): - 部屋に温泉が引き込まれていて、スキーの後は温泉にゆっくりつかって疲れを癒せました。リフト乗り場も近く、和室をならコスパはかなり良いです。ニセコはどんどん高級なホテルができているので、こういう宿は貴重です。

That means you need to carry all your skis, luggage and a 10 minutes walk up the hill on the snow to the bus station. No taxi would come because it's only a few minutes drive.

Great location. Nice views over the slopes, which are just right there. We didn’t use the dining options because there was no clarity on times and menu. No room service.

YeenKee (8/5): Good Location to stay if price is good - I have to break down to different parts while comparing with Niseko Grand Hotel (which I have stay for 5yrs before switching to Yumoto Niseko Prince hotel;. Location: Good location Near Hirafu, but I need to walk about 200 meters with huge and large ski bag and luggage down and up the hotel as compared to Niseko Grand Hotel where the bus dropped me in front of the hotel. Rate 3/5 Price: Yumoto is more expensive than Niseko Grand Hotel because they charge extra cost to access to the Onsen. Niseko Grand Hotel Onsen is free. Accessibility to Ski Resort: Yumoto can ski in/out at back of hotel, but Niseko Grand Hotel will have to wait from its schedule timed shutter bus which is very inconvenience for skier. Friendliness of staff: The female staff (especially Ms. Kawaguchi) tend to be more patient and polite toward foreigner as compared to the 2 male staff. Overall: 4/5. The hotel is in good location to ski and wondering around without worrying of the schedule bus if you stay away from the Ski Resort. If the price is good ($450 or lesser per night), this hotel can be returned to stay.

Mabel (10/5): Pleasant stay at Hirafutei Prince - We enjoyed the hospitality and the facilities of the hotel. Staff were very helpful. We would like to compliment the front office manager Mr Tamura for going out of his way to find the transport to go to the Gondola station for ski lessons. There was also a Chinese lady at the front desk who patiently answered all our queries.

65joep (8/5): Niseko Grand Hirafu Convenience! - Key Highlights of the stay at this rustic and cozy hotel - Staff very friendly and accommodating - EXELLENT Location: within walking minutes of the Hirafu Base Station (Lift ticket, rentals, etc.); various restaurants/convenience store/retail within minutes access along Hirafu-zaka; comfortable bed and pillow = very nice sleep; ONSEN; Hotel-to-Gelande Access and within seconds from the Family Gelande Ticket station and lift; various views of Hirafu Mtn and Yotei-san
Wen (10/5): Ski in and out - Great ski resort - you can ski right out of the hotel's ski storage area. It's also located next to the Hirafu welcome centre so convenient for buses and everything else in town. Lots of variety at the breakfast buffet, good place to load up before getting up the mountain. Then can't beat the apres ski onsen, what a great way to recover from all day skiing. The men's has a view of the slopes, while the ladies has a view of Mt Yotei. Amazing. We stayed in a Japanese room which was a little tired, but clean and enough room for the two of us. A bit cramped with the futon down. Rooms however are only cleaned by staff every four days, no big deal but would be good to get the bins emptied, towels changed etc. Futons were re-made every night.

ursbruno (6/5): Book the good rooms! - The hotel is old, but some rooms are renovated. Take care, that you get those rooms, because the old ones are just horrible. There is a big onsen inside and outside, with a sauna. The breakfast is Japanese style with a wide selection of food. The staff is helpful, but do not expect services for laundry etc.
A (4/5): - Toshiros bar is fabulous. My western style room w private onsen was great. The bed was comfy too. The staff is GOD AWFUL. Zero concept of service. Barely speak any English. I needed a cab in the morning, they called one company and said fully booked. I asked them to call another. She just stared at me and said all fully booked. Magically when I called a company I found a cab. Absolutely unacceptable. They have no shuttles anywhere, no form of transport help. They won’t help you get to and from the airport at all or even inform you. They just say no we don’t do, you find car or bus. What is that?! I’d love to stay here again but I won’t because the service is abhorrent. I think it’s best to stick to private lodging or proper big hotels. Oh may I say, my room set me back $600 USD a night so this place isn’t cheap either.

862cindyb (10/5): Excellent Service and Great Ski-In Ski-out Location - My husband and I recently spent 5 nights at the Prince Hirafutei. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. In particular, I left an article in our room when we checked out, and Kato-san went well out of his way to ship the article to me at our hotel in Sapporo. The onsen was spacious with multiple bath options and clean, well equipped locker rooms. The location is very convenient for ski-in and ski-out. The exterior of the building looks a little ‘tired’, but I would not hesitate to stay there again given the very positive attitude of the staff and the great location.

Lisa (8/5): Convenient location - The staff is friendly, beds are super comfortable, and slope side location is incredibly convenient for your ski holiday. Every rooom gets a Ski locker To store your gear downstairs so you don’t have to traipse it upstairs. The Public are allowed to use the onsen for a fee sobit can get busy in late afternoon. The building itself is a little dated and has some years on it but everything was in good working order. The breakfast buffet has a huge selection of both Traditional Japanese and western food.
Wilson8866 (10/5): One of the best stay for skiing - Before arrival, we spoken to a staff to ensure availability and a quiet room. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the same staff that recognized my voice. Impressive! It was a last minute booking as the accommodation we previously booked was so horrible that we were forced to leave almost immediately without a place to stay. To our very pleasant surprise, Niseko Price is a ski-in/out hotel and even has a ski equipment rental shop, nice restaurant, souvenir shop, tour desk and a charming bar. Our room is very clean and quiet and has a beautiful view of the ski slope - a nice bonus. The staff are always very polite and helpful. They provided all kinds of useful information even though a few of them did not speak English very well. This hotel is just besides the ski slopes and very convenient for beginner & intermediate skiers. Did I mention onsen? This hotel has a decent onsen facility and is free for hotel guests. It’s good for the muscles after a day of skiing. The outside of this hotel is rather unassuming, but its interior, especially the rooms are great. All in all a fabulous stay which greatly enhanced our skiing experience.
Melsa85 (10/5): Used onsen during the day - Onsen is closed from 10:30am to 1:30pm but I was able to enter at 9:30am and was the only female using the facility. Baths are small but very nice, the outdoor one has an excellent view in winter. Cost is ¥1000 + and extra ¥200 for a towel if needed.
Wendy (6/5): Not pleasant stay - We were charged about 1,500yen for accommodation and onsen taxes. Double futons were comfortable but the pillows. The 3 futons fit exactly the room without much extra space. We got up late for breakfast and went down at 9:15am (9:30am closing) and there was very little food left and they won't allow to refill too. We were only able to eat congee and 2 pieces of bread. One thing I like is the view from the dining hall. You can watch the skiing area from their big windows.

Laura (10/5): Great snowy stay! - We found the Hirafuti hotel to be very comfortable. We booked a western style room with a private onsen and it was perfect. The room was very comfortable and we loved our beautiful view of the slopes from the tub. The staff was very helpful and many people spoke English which helped us a lot. We enjoyed the bar in the lobbey and the very easy access to skiing with the ski lockers. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning and found that they had many great options. We never did have dinner at the hotel so i cant speak to that.This hotel was so convenient to everything! I would definitely recommend it. The only improvement i would offer is for a more comfortable lobby with more seating for people to gather.

We also found a dead bug on our futon which was unpleasant. For the price paid we felt quite disappointing.
SURIYA (10/5): Good location - Hotel building looks old from the outside as compared to other new developments nearby. However room is big for Japan standard. We are very happy with the room, cleanliness and amenities inside the room. We took train from Sapporo to Kutchan station and took the public bus from Kutchan to the hotel. We alighted at Hirafu Welcome Centre and walk backwards to the hotel. Location of hotel is central. There is a nearby supermarket (walking distance).
side11 (6/5): Return to this hotel disappointed - My family and I have been staying at this hotel now for around 8 years - we stay in early February for our annual ski trip to Niseko. Initially the hotel was friendly and we were happy with it. We have had bad experiences in the last two stays though and I doubt we will return. First, the staff become rather aggressive if you don't comply with their rules (which I admit we breached slightly but not in any serious way - eg taking some breakfast food to our room because my wife had overslept) which I found an extraordinary way to treat someone who was such a loyal customer - it really leaves a bad taste. Secondly, the housekeeping has become very poor - they forgot to leave water, towels, cover pillows with cases, "yukatas", tea and other things on several occasions meaning we had to call down for replacements etc. This never happened before - also the hotel has stopped refunding housekeeping costs if you decide on any day not to have your room cleaned. It did this for the last 8 years that we have been staying but not any more. Thirdly, the rather decent onsen on the third floor has been taken over by outside guests. At peak times (say 5pm-7pm), it is full of non-hotel guests making it hard for actual guests to use all the facilities. My feeling is that this should be reserved principally for hotel guests at peak times but no doubt they are making lots of money from the outsiders.... Fourthly, although this wasn't a problem for us, our friends experienced similar inflexibility from the staff as us when they wanted to get another person to use their room. They had booked for a three or four bed room in anticipation of a friend arriving a few days after them. The hotel wanted to charge an extra Y24,000 for his stay in their room. It would have cost Y13,000 for him to have his own room (admittedly a smoking room). They will also not be returning. Fifthly, inexplicably, the breakfast time has been shortened to close at 9am with people being asked to leave from 9:30am. It's true that this is a ski resort and people should be out on the slopes asap, but it's also true that sometimes people want a lie in when tired or if the weather is too bad to ski. This I found very very irritating. On the plus side, the hotel is a genuine ski in ski out, just above the Family Lift. It now has improved ski rental and a decent massage section (which I didn't try). The downstairs onsen is pretty good (if it weren't full of backpackers). Many rooms have their own private onsen (but not the cold bath, sauna and genuine outdoors bath section of the downstairs onsen) as did ours but my wife used that mainly. General comment is that I will be looking elsewhere next year.
EagleRay680 (4/5): Hidden charges and miscommunication - Was told late check out would Cost 1750 yen over the phone. They missed a zero and charged me 17500 yen. Also requested for a cab that was also 10,000 yen more than I was quoted. Having a personal onsen is nice but isn’t really worth it in my opinion. It’s normally a small pool and the decor prevents the blinds from closing all the way so people in the neighboring hotels can see you. The only real plus was the great massage, toshiros whiskey bar and the (which is closed more than its open) convenience store in the lobby. Service in general was friendly, but communication quite literally cost me a severe amount of money. Will not stay here again.

MaximusCruiser (8/5): Very nice public onsen for 1000yen - We paid 200yen extra to rent towels but surprisingly nice place with good view of the slopes from the outdoor area. Had a good time. Note that Onsen is closed from 10.30am to 1.30pm.... so avoid these times. Caught a break when there was no one in the Onsen so I managed to take a few pictures.
nikkis684 (6/5): Overall stay - We booked a week in this hotel. A family of 3 with a child. When the booking was made we only had an option of 2 rooms. Unbeknownst to us that these rooms were separate and the child would be by herself. The first option of rooms we were given we not the rooms shown on the website. They are known as the western rooms. These 2 rooms were so small you could not fit a 2 bags and 2 people in one room. Highly disappointed, we requested a room change. We were given another room with 2 beds and were told we would have to pay equivalent $3000 aus to have a japanese style mattress on the floor. As there were no other options and late at night we took the offer. We agreed to pay the room a few days later after trying to speak with our travel agent. The hotel manager or owner approached us a few days later and offered us a massive discount on the room. Rather than paying 249,000 ¥ (yen) he offered to charge us only 178,000¥. Very generous and helpful. The staff were wonderful and very friendly and welcoming. Food was very average. Highly recommend eating out for breakfast instead of the hotel buffet unless you enjoy sardines for breakfast. Overall great placement of hotel offering ski in ski out options and very central to everything.

Joe_Chan_HK (6/5): Affordable room with private onsen - My family (2 adults and 2 young kids) stayed in the Yumoto Niseko Prince Hotel Hirafutei for a night in mid-July. On approach I noticed that the hotel premise appeared rather dated. Our room had a small private onsen pool with a direct view of a skiing slope. The room was a typical ryokan-style one. As usual, futon beds were set during our dinner time at the hotel restaurant. It was found that all four beds had fully occupied the lounge spaces of my room. Hence little spaces were left for our lugguage. Our plan included buffet breakfast and dinner, that mainly provided Japanese cuisines. Nevertheless the food with local ingredients was fresh and yummy. The onsen facility contained an outdoor and one indoor pools. The outdoor one was rather small and gave a forest view. We came in summer time and could not comment its skiing facilities. Car park was free. The overall building of this hotel seemed dated and renovation might be necessary. It was noted that there were a number of new and fancy rental apartments and hotels around this region, and travelers could have a number of attractive accommodation options. Probably the dated condition of Yumoto Niseko Prince Hotel Hirafutei explained its relatively reasonable room rate. I booked this hotel mainly due to the private onsen and I was content with it. However the other aspects of the hotel were considered as not bad but not exceptionally good. I recommend this hotel to travelers who seek for a reasonably priced room with a private onsen in the Niseko region.

Uncle8en (8/5): Onsen with a view - Onsen over look one of ski run next to family lift. An unique experience as you can relax in the hot outdoor bath and watch skiers down below. The sauna is a bit small and the water does not seem to be natural mineral water. But the location and few is great.

The private onsen room was a very good Choice after an entire day of ski-ing. Location wise it was really the best, near to a lot of restaurants, bus stop and just right next to the slopes :)

The other massive hit was the in-room private onsen. A very big tick and luxury to have at the end of each day to soak out all those wears of the day. Apart from that - the rest was average... nothing to rave about. Rooms were quite small. Very average breakfast, quite poor service....

Audrey (2/5): Normal hotel rules broken without regard - Additional Guest not allowed - no info in Website We booked a huge room 64sqm enough for 4, although 2 of us are staying; because my son may join us. We booked extra beds upfront. We were held ransom when we checked in - it is NOT the room we booked, they say it is by the number of people - not size and no. of beds! We agreed to pay additional onsen tax, breakfast, but NO! They want to charge us another USD1000 - my son is not allowed into the hotel. Fortunately, his friend's wife at another hotel couldn't come and he joined him, or else he would be throw out in the streets! Hotel even asked where my son went to verify, to ensure he did not stay with us! It is hurtful insult. Shortchange Breakfast at any hotel is normally at 7am so that we can start skiing at 8am - NOT ALLOWED. We can only take breakfast at 8.30am because they had about 200 students at that time of our stay. Again we were compromised without choice - they made the rules! This place will make new rules unheard of by normal international standards.Avoid because you never know what new rules they will make against you.

BillK487 (10/5): Right location, helpful staff, great onsen - A great ski-in/ski out location onto upgraded Family quad chair. Staff with limited English, but very helpful (special kudos to Yumene-san). Breakfast was great with a wide selection - and on-premise, multi-bath onsen (including outside bath overlooking a ski run) was the icing on the cake. Our room had a small private onsen also, but the big one was so good we tended to go down there. Rooms are very comfortable but not luxurious. If you want super-luxury this isn't for you, but it met our needs especially well.
vincentk785 (6/5): Ski trip - I picked this hotel in the past because it has a very good dinner buffet and offer ski in and ski out at the Hirafu ski area. The price is not cheap and the room is quite small.But I keep coming back because of the above reasons. This year I find the quality of food deteriorated substantially.To be fair, the quality is still above average at Hirafu area.I remember the tempura used to be my favourite, but I can no longer say so. Also, this year because of a big tour group, the hotel change the breakfast time to 830am, which is after the chairlift open time. On a good powder day I have to forfeit my breakfast to catch the snow.I cannot pretend that I am happy with this arrangement.
Y7583ZXmichaelm (8/5): Great Onsen After Ski - This onsen is located on the ground floor off the lobby. You purchase a ticket in a machine located next to the main desk. If you need a towel, you can purchase an additional ticket. The total for both is JPY1200. The onsen has separate male and female areas both of which have indoor and outdoor baths or pools. It’s a lovely feeling soaking outside after a hard day on the slopes and staring out at the mountain. Doesn’t get better than this really.
Malinky88 (2/5): Indifferent service - I’ve stayed at this hotel twice. Once this year n another 3 years back. Nothing has changed but the prices have doubled with zero improvement. So everything is still old n Crickety, and service has become jaded and apathetic. But because the niseko crowd keeps the hotel busy, they can afford to be careless about service standards now... Simple requests like how to get to the Bus meeting point with luggage will be met with a blank look n reply “I have no idea”. I had asked for help on how to get to the bus meeting point early in the morning as I was travelling by myself with quite a lot of luggage with skis n boots. Kinuge the young staff at the reception counter felt it was not the hotel’s responsibility to help guests leave. “It’s your own self problem” was his reply. When asked for possibility for a taxi, he said flat out they will be busy without even trying to make a call. As for ski in n out .... well. The locker room in another building many steps down. Plus w your skis n boots on, you have more steps to climb through a narrow stair well before reaching the slope. Rather a clumsy arrangement. It’s a bit of a palava coz u will have to remove your skis 2 min later to buy a lift pass. Maybe it’s easier to walk up to . base n start off from there to avoid the family slope crowd of kids classes in the morning which is where Prince’s Ski off leads to. Anyway niseko is a boom town now and badly in need of more rooms. Perhaps with some competition, old establishments like this one, that is now charging 5 star prices, will start thinking about customer service, upgrading facilities and maintaining some international hospitality standards. The bad 1) very old facilities 2) small bedrooms room 3) indifferent service staff who are rather taciturn to foreigners 4) very limited food options. Dinner Buffet closes at 8pm. And charged at uS$50 for a very cheap looking spread. There is no cafe. Only a buffet breakfast and buffet dinner. 5) ski in n out is a bit of a process n not very easy at all 6) onsen is open to public n can be busy The good 1) on the main niseko stretch

The hotel doesn't have a shuttle service so if you catch a bus from the airport you do need to drag your luggage through the snow. The hotel is a little aged and could do with a renovation. The breakfast was really great, the staff were all really helpful and the location was great. We'd definately stay again!

aussietoday (10/5): The location gives this 10 out 10 ~ but rest is mixed ~ depending on your room level - We stayed here with family and stayed in a suite room on 6th floor with a private onsen. The room was good and no complaints. The best thing about the room was the private onsen. The private onsen is a real lone with a paper above it explaining about mineral content ranking etc.Its hard to get a modern hotel with such high-grade water of the onsen, in a room so this was excellent. My room had 4 of us, including 2 kids. Ski locker was good too and Ski wise this is ground zero ~ the access is direct from the rear of the hotel to the ski lifts. The only fault here is the food options are terrible. They have space but are caught in a time warp. It is like dining in a refectory at a high school in the 80`s. The food is good variety ~yet the buffet crowd is the target. I think if you stay here you want to have the onsen room or else just be a couple skiing without kids ~ as normal rooms sans Onsen are much older style and not so great. Managment here is small but very friendly and all staff excellent. All in all an old hotel but very nice stay despite how ugly it looks from the tired reception/lobby and exterior. Location for skiing is AAA.The bar next to the lobby is also AAA and staff AAA overall.Older Japanese gentlemen at reception who seems to be GM speaks English is excellent on all points too.One con is alot of Chinese/SE Asians come in mass and stay 3 or more to cheap rooms and once again you get some rude ones ~ however overall most very well behaved and not much issue as used private onsen

King George (10/5): Excellent hotel close to chair lift - The hotel is close to the Hirafu Welcome Centre where shuttle buses to the airport or Sapporo stop. It is a ski in/ski out hotel close to the Family chair lift. I booked a Japanese room with private onsen. It was very pleasing to relax in the private onsen after snowboarding for the whole day. The only problem was that there was no non-smoking room when I checked in end March. They did offer non-smoking room in peak season though.
Jake (8/5): Wonderful except for room size - Really enjoyed our stay. Food was great. We had half board for 4 days and never got bored. Staf were totally friendly and helpful. Next to the slopes so convenient. We had a room with outside bath which was fantastic except for being quite enclosed. Not the step-outside experience I was expecting. Only complaint was the size of the room. Why does it have to be so small when there is so much available space in Hokkaido? It's the kind of room size I'd expect in Tokyo!
