Guest Reviews
- Ananthi (6/5): - The hotel is walking distance to lee garden n kim yong market. But the hotel room is not sound prove can hear people walking n talking ,wall so thin.
- Secret_reviewer2 (6/5): The same great feeling with cold water. - The same feeling when I first come here more then 10 years ago.
Upon arrival, they offered us to "check in" another hotel as their hot water is not working. Despite the short distance of 5min of ride/drive, some of us decided to check in as it is as we are exhausted from a more then 16 hours of road trip.
I can feel the receptionist is under a lot of stress from the rest of the customers and decided not to pursue further and just ask to assist us to check in.
However, we would appreciate if the following is met,
1 - Upgrade us to a better room?
2 - Provide some form of discounts? (Could be just a bit but better then nothing)
3 - At the very least, offer a free standard breakfast set the following day?
Lastly, I realised, this hotel is indeed very old.. (sometimes, when we go back to hotel we went several years ago, they are either not well maintained or maybe they are already old fashioned.
- HRS_6 (8/5): Good old timer - The room is large
The location is good
Halal restaurants beside it, Khalid Restaurant and Malaysia Thai Restaurant
Thanyada Souvenir around 100m only
Kim Yong market 300m away
Easy to fnd tuk2
It is good if the hotel provide coffee n tea
- DrSukumarMahesan (4/5): Take away the golden and crown from Hotel name - Poor front desk service….even a monkey would have greeted and served better Rooms old and not really up to par in cleanliness Housekeeping staff kind and courteous Hotel management is a disgrace ….. they do not reply to e mails…..management either blind or plain dumb
- jimmyj2002 (6/5): Improvements needed - The property is big enough but facilities are very outdated. Everything in hotel seems to have been very old and outdated but they have not changed and updated it with time. Although the hotel is big and clean.location is very good for shoppers point of view. But they can upgrade their rooms as per the modern times.
- MamaSanChiangMai (8/5): Clean, Great Location! - Surprisingly pleasant, dated but tidy, reasonably priced, basic but adequate amenities, terrific location. Minimal services post-covid but delightful and cooperative staff. Room larger than expected and wonderfully hot water for farang-sized bathtub.
- sherryo534 (2/5): Not recommended at all - The only advantage of staying at this hotel is because it is near the Kim Yong market where you can see and feel the local lifestyle and enjoy the different stalls of local street foods. Other than that , nothing worth staying at this hotel. There are lots of hotels near the market as well, which can be considered.
ROOM : - BAD
Understand this is a 3 star hotel, however, the room was very old, dusty and not clean. We spotted small cockroaches in our room during our 4 nights stay, As we are travelling with aged parents, we could not consider to change hotel. The single bed for the twin sharing rooms was not stable at all, it seems the wheels for the bed frame was not functioning well and the bed will move easily. Room facilities was limited. No toothbrush, and room slippers. Note that the room floor was very dusty that we had to bought slippers on our own to wear in the room. The kettle was old and stained, couldn't use at all. Chairs in the room was shaky as well, and the single seat sofa provided was also stained.
ROOM SERVICE - AVERAGE
Minimum cleaning and only replenish the necessities. You would need to ask or request for the extra water and they would supply. Couldn't speak very good English though so communication can be a problem.
RECEPTION - BAD
Do note that they will keep yr passports (1 per room) when check in, otherwise u need to put a deposit of 500 baht.
Staffs was rude, not helpful. Most of the time they we using their phones and we even spotted them cutting their nails at the counter . We asked for direction and they just brushed us off , saying they dont know. Asked them the average rates for the tutu, and they replied 'dont know, ask the driver' . Not interested all all in their service, with the exception of 1 lady (with specs), she is the only one who acknowledge the guests with smile.
BELLMAN - Good
The 2 bellman were very helpful and friendly instead. They helped to arrange and check the rates for Tutu when we couldn't get any help fm the receptions. They were all smiles and this is the only warm service that we appreciate.
OVERALL, I would not recommend this hotel at all as there are lots of hotel near the market and I believes the rates are all very competitive. If you are not really into the market, recommended to stay at or near the Centara or LEE GARDENS. Most of the night markets stalls are there and also the different restaurants and massage. They have McDonald, 7 eleven and other shops nearby as well.
- thumperlawrance (8/5): Nice stay in Hat Yai - Stayed here over a weekend. Everything with the room was good. Good location. I didn't eat in the hotel restaurant as markets were close by. I bought a mini bus and speedboat ticket to koh lipe from reception who were very helpful. Really enjoyed my stay here. If you like to see temples get a tuk tuk to the sleeping buddah. I went to the floating market in a tuk tuk as well. It was a Saturday and not sure which days it actually takes place. First genuine floating market I've been to as I only saw one other tourist. Great value hotel in good location.
- Leeinbkk (10/5): Great location. Friendly staff - The hotel 🏨 is in the city centre. Location is perfect. Walking distance to the markets, train station and malls. Room is basic. Bed is comfortable. Everything works really well ( AC, hot water, WiFi ).
Perhaps more air freshener in the room. Friendly staff.
They provide two drinking water bottles. There is a kettle in the room.
I didn’t eat at the hotel so I can’t comment on their food.
I would defo return back.

- smartvirus87 (10/5): Worth it! - Worth it!!!
Room - Big room. Big toilet but I don't like the tub because not 100% clean. The shower only inside the tub so I need to get shower inside it. Comfortable bed. Clean room
Location - 5 minutes walk to Lee Gardens. Few massage centers around the hotel. 7e in 1 minute walking distance. Not too busy and crowded
Facilities - has own massage services. Limited parking space. Small elevators but still sufficient
Price - with this location facilities and what I get, it really worth it.
- michychoooo (6/5): Walking distance to Kim Yong market - Walking distance to Kim Yong market. From the hotel, cross the pedestrian walk to reach the place. Can take grab car to everywhere.
If you are opting for in-house massages in your room, beware of Therapists recommendation to use a different type of oil as they charge additional 200 baht and this fee wasn’t mentioned upfront before and during the session.
- juestherl (2/5): Horrible customer service - Be wary of your requests to put forth to this property. Full of empty promises and be ready to be disappointed. I have proof of our exchanged emails by this property.
I have confirmed 6 rooms and we have a total of 14 paxs, we paid for extra bed each for the room. We stayed from 27-31 Oct. We requested for 5 twins and 1 double, ended up mostly double, only 2 twins. So man and man get to sleep together??? We booked 3 weeks in advance. See how efficient in their scheduling of rooming list!!! Initially they say to try, I can fully understand but then they dropped me a mail nearer to our date saying all have been done in our requests. We asked for late check till 3pm, they also say "try" , again, dropped me a mail to say "no problem"... Upon our arrival, we were disappointed that nothing were arranged! and on our last day morning at front office reception, this Ms Watharee, told us to check out by 12pm, their standard policy was told. I have politely informed her that 6rooms requests have been approved by her mgw and some are old folks n 5 of our lady friends just undergone face surgery, at least to give us 2 rooms till 3pm as our driver would pick us at 3. 30pm to airport. I wanted to show her their property email "promises", she wasn't the least INTERESTED and was so DAMN arrogant, rude and idiotely keep saying, NO, cannot, No cannot! I felt so disgusted by her body language! Finally she said, got to pay for extension. So it's money that your property wanted!! Totally unprofessional! It's ok for me to extend and pay but it's her attitude that pissed me off. I fought hard n raised my voice saying I would like to store all my lugguages n belongings in the extended room , finally she reluctantly gave me a room till 1pm . Infact, I was so damn pissed, I just asked for porters service, we did not even extend till 1pm.
This property is not friendly, neither it's fantastic not because I have bad experiences with them, in terms of location, they are ONLY walking distance to the Kim yong market but not near to the malls, if you walk, you still need at least 20 mins walk. Imagine old folks. Explore properties like Centara, New Season, Lee Garden, Regency,Mayflower, nearer to malls, foodie areas, nite bustle with lots of activities... Very convenient but not this property.
Room is clean and I believe with this room rate we have paid for extra beds n 6 rooms x 5 nites, I probably will get better front office services elsewhere. I booked this property cus I based on the hotel reviews and it's such a disappointment. Will certainly not recommend this property, it's such a let down. Btw, Ms Watharee, called yourself a hotel manager /supervisor , I think your management should send you for customer service training.
- eentini (6/5): Weekender - For its price, I will return and stay at this hotel. But please be mindful that most hotels in Hatyai does not provide iron, so does this place.
Tuktuk is available almost every time, and markets are just around the corner. Next to the hotel there is one muslim restaurant called Khaled, good breakfast spread, tasty roti canai!
- MrToo (8/5): - Very good location for shopping and food outlets.
Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Easy to get foods surrounding area. Tuk-tuk also a easy transport there. Rooms are much old. Bed are clean.
- texanc (6/5): 50 metres to wet market - Sited next to the right of this hotel, is a smaller market than Kim Yong. Prices of produce were also higher & short on variety. Market was more a fruits, vegetable market. Its seafood real fresh, but market produce expensive by comparison. Just a handful of food stalls. Rice soap were priced 5-10bahts more each (a small premium, but we 30 of us bought nearly 100 packs of 12s, "chai pointed or cured raddish", was more than double in price, we just crossed the road, a shop let, instead of the market & I bought them for half the price (already eaten some, very good). Go for this shop situated along the same row as the hotel, just need cross the road. Snacks, dried seafood, tongan pulps were short in variety & choice. In term of location 3 minutes walk to Centara, night market. Breakfast could be improve, comfort is a 6/10, one key to your room, unless you ask.
- roslien (8/5): Good location - We took 2 rooms for the 4 of us. It came with breakfast with was OK. The best part is it's location which is walking distance to the wet market, street food and shops everywhere around. You will not get lost because it's located centrally. Every time we go shopping and when our hands are full, we walk back to the hotel and leave our shopping bags and walk out again. Oh there is this bike cab which is everywhere and if you don't feel like you can hop on them. The bike cab is reasonably cheap. We went to the floating market and did more shopping and food. You will see this boats on the water and you will find a variety of local foods and the ladies are all dressed in their traditionally cloths. When we are back in the evening and exhausted, we have a nice and clean room to sleep for another adventure. I will highly recommend this hotel and the pleasant staffs.
- ryna (10/5): - nice hotel..very close to kim yong market.
- izaniabd (2/5): BAD MANAGEMENT - I came book 22 rooms 2 months earlier NOV2018 for my groups.. Since this hotel reccomended for halal restaurant with certificate (breakfast). And I really thought the price is include with the breakfast. A sum of deposit was made.
When the date come 19012019, and to pay balance, the staff told booking made for room only exclude breakfast.
It's very bad. You the manager should told me at the first place when the booking payment was made the price only for room. And I need to pay another 4000B for the breakfast from my pocket.
I woundt go to you hotel that far from lee garden for good or comfortable room cause there are many hotel nearby more comfortable and new. I come for halal breakfast. Im not suggesting all of you to come here. Find the other hotel.
And to be clear, the HALAL CERTIFICATE FROM MUSLIM AUTHORITY ALREADY EXPIRED. done.
- ST (4/5): - Shower not functioning well. Hot water supply not consistent.
- traveleatplay (4/5): Old hotel desperately needs refurbishment - I wouldn’t stay here again. We spent 2 nights here over Christmas recently. The hotel location is quite good being near to the Kim Yong market - within a 5 minute walk.
The overall cleanliness of the hotel and the condition of the hotel is poor. The carpet and paint work are really worn out and should really be refurbished. The furniture is also old.
Nevertheless the bed that we slept on had clean sheets and pillows. Another consolation was the towels were clean and replaced daily.
Room shower / heater was working but the shower head was faulty. The air conditioning was working but noisy. The ceiling had leak stains and looked terrible. The lights are dim in the room and corridors. Too dark. There was only one plug point in the room and it’s for the kettle and your mobile devices.
The management should really put some attention on the condition of the common areas of the hotel and the guestrooms.
My take - If you ran out of options and just need a room to sleep for the night maybe its doable. Otherwise, there are so many better hotels or rental homes around the area.
- Toh (8/5): - The wifi was strong and automatically connected. The room was clean and the bed was King size. The toilet was spacious but without hand grab for elderly person to hold during bathing otherwise was perfect. The room was clean and bed and pillows sheets replaced every day on time. The environment was quiet and tutuk easily available. I enjoyed my 3 days stay in the hotel and will make a come back to stay again in the coming December hoildays with my wife and children.
- Tack ming (8/5): Friendly receptionist and room was clean. - Friendly receptionist and room was clean. Will return on my next visit.
- BellNg (6/5): Good for value - The building itself looks wee old, like those having its shinning time in the 80s and stay there. The room itself is just enough for 2 of us, 2 plastic chairs, a small coffee table, a make-up desk, a very old TV (like the 80s!), a clean bathroom with basic amenities. One good thing is the air-conditioning still works magic, and the hot shower too. Location wise is good enough, nonetheless, Hat Yai is not a very big city, everything is within walking distance.
A heaven for backpackers, a so-so for family travelers, a definite no-no for luxury-experiencers.
Cons: No breakfast. And I'm not particularly fond of the protocol where they will ask for your passport and keep it for the rest of your stay. I mean, it's PASSPORT which contains the most powerful information about oneself and who knows what happened if it falls to wrong hand. Sorry but I'm just being skeptical. It's a serious privacy issue here.
- hasl2018 (10/5): Nice hotel - The hotel is superb. Friendly reception counter staffs. Helpful bellman. Housekeeping is helpful too. Overall the place is very nice. Distance from township is about 300m. Can opt for taking tut tut which cost 20 baht each person. Would recommend this hotel and would definitely make a comeback.
- Kok Hway (8/5): Nice stay - Comfortable, easy to go around
- sumi (6/5): old hotel - old hotel style.should the value for money is lower.less comfort.
even no buffet breakfast but you will serve breakfast set as your choice
- Verified traveler (2/5): terrible - staff do not know what they are doing cost me had to pay double in my trips .
try to check in and say we don't have reservation and then send us to the newer version hotel call Golden Crown Grand then they say i don't have reservation there either. since we are big family we end stay at the Golden Crown Grand and pay again for the stay and there is no refund so i a double pay for my stay.
the staff at the hotel don't have no record for internet reservation and cannot pull your name for the information so if you don't any paper record or please make sure you screen shot it.
- Lee (8/5): - Nice location, friendly staff & value for money
- G0hH (8/5): Big room nice bed. - Room is big and bed very comfortable. Within walking distance to lots of food outlets. Would suggest to provide extra pillows for a more comfortable stay. And a piece of soap for the bathroom. Would definitely come back.
- chiusee81 (4/5): Found bugs on bed - It is old hotel with price around rm 110/night not included breadfast .it is same line with new season hotel.just a walking distant ard 10 minute will arrived at LEE GARDEN PLAZA.This hotel need maintenance since i found bugs and itchy during slept on their bed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Not bad hotel, but no breadfast. Charge everything like the coffee pack in room, hope can serve free fir customer.
- Peter Teng (4/5): Hotel is not bad but a bit expensive for its class - Things are not cheap now. It's more expensive than Bangkok and Chiangmai.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not a good hotel. - disappointed
- Mei Kiaw (6/5): - the hotel don't supply tissue paper, toothbrush.
- koay (8/5): Good location - Near heart of hatyai, will stay again
- Marcelo (8/5): - Clean rooms. Good location.
- AX (8/5): value for money - Generally it is good and comfortable. Some feedback from group member, that the housekeeper did not clean the room completely.
- goh (10/5): A home away from Home - Friendly, warmth environment and spacious hotel room.
Good location of hotel, good food outlets and shopping near hotel
- RITA (6/5): My family short trip to Hatyai - Cheap and moderate hotel. Not fancy but comfortable for short stay. Walking distance to halal restaurants.
