- 156annyr (10/5): Relaxing Stay - Lovely staff. Very attentive and really paid attention to our allergies and preferences. Really comfortable room. The hotel has a light show in their huge pond and it’s relaxing to watch from our window as well as from the restaurants.

When asked to arrange a taxi for us, they stated that no taxis were available. They would not give us extra keys for the room, which is strange.

I had booked it for its large room size and close proximity to Gotemba Premium Outlets. However, I was surprised by how nice the property was! I think it was recently facelifted which gave the place a clean and contemporary feel while retaining some traditional Japanese charm. We could see Mt Fuji from our room and the hotel has a dedicated viewing area on level 12. The grounds of the hotel were spectacular with a large pond and garden which felt so peaceful to take a stroll. Breakfast every morning was lavish and dinner at the teppanyaki restaurant was special with a night time fountain spectacle right beside. Thanks Mars Garden Wood for the wonderful stay!

- James (10/5): Kobe Stay - First time in Kobe. Nice hotel in the harbor. I stayed in a corner suite on the 9th floor. Had a great view of the harbor. Was nice to sit out on the deck at night and have a drink. The second morning staying a cruise ship pulled up right beside the hotel. It was so quiet you wouldn't even know they were coming in. Sitting on the 9th floor.I was the same height at the top of the ship. Was fun sipping morning coffee in my robe watching them come into port Good location 10 minutes walk from Kobe station. Everything is within walking distance.
- Pip-kiwi (10/5): Premium Experience - great views of Mt Fuji - Excellent location for views of Mt Fuji - we hired a car and it was worth it as Premium outlets are 5 mins away and to the city centre for restaurants. We had a triple room (only down side was that the 3rd bed was a rollaway - not the most comfortable for an adult), the bathroom is separate from the toilet which was good for 3 people. The bathroom was marble and was very clean and offered quality amenities, thick fluffy towels. Breakfast was included - choice of European or Japanese. But the Japanese was far superior. Service was excellent and they offer basement car parking if you request it in advance. Stayed two nights and it was nice to be able to relax in some luxury.

There s a viewing gallery at top floor which offers stunning views of mount fuji.

They “called and canceled” our previous booking, which was paid for and said we would be refunded. We were then charged again at checkout. We were in-fact not refunded by either the hotel or online booker and they refuse to help. Now we have paid twice for what most would consider below average hotel. No laundry service Bar not open Coffee not free at breakfast Small “store” in the lobby selling cheap tourist trinkets Very nice view of a parking lot For >$400 USD a night this place is lacking on so many levels.

It was a bit pricey, but we were celebrating a birthday. What was a bit surprising was that all the restaurants but one were closed when we were there. Not even the cafe was open, despite the fact that it looked like they were suppose to be. A bit disappointing as this is not what we were expecting and weren’t told when checking in either. Furthermore, there are no benches to sit on and take in the beautiful grounds. Relatively, these are small issues - the service was great and the hotel itself very nice.

- Bowen (8/5): - The facilities and room amenities are quite good, with a router in the room to ensure a stable internet connection. The service is as courteous as always. The restaurant in the hotel is priced at 10,000 yen. Unfortunately, there isn't a bar where you can have a drink. If you want to enjoy some drinks and yakitori, you need to walk about ten minutes to Gotemba Station, or you can ask the hotel front desk to call a taxi for you. There is a bus stop just five minutes away downstairs, where you can catch a long-distance bus to Tokyo, a free bus to Onsen, and various city buses. The Imperial Palace Park and the temple are not far from here.

- Hing Yu (8/5): - Spent 2 nights on the Fuji view room with private hot spring, the room is spacious for 2 even for 4, the king size beds are excellent, pillows and blanket are top class, you can see the fuji mountain lying on bed if the weather allows, but unfortunately, 1 small building has blocked some part of it (very small portion), but u can go to the top floor shared area to take pictures with better angle ~ The private hot spring is nice with view of fuji mountain, but it takes time to accumulate hot water, its refreshing ~ the only compliant is that if you are not taking a taxi to the hotel, you will need to spend sometime finding the road or the entrance of the hotel ~ you may find convienient store around and a bus stop nearby which u can take free bus to outlet or a ride to other major area ~ 9/10 recommended ~

This is especially relevant in Gotemba where there isn’t much alternative. In summary it was a poor experience.
- marcpaul2015 (2/5): Real deception - Poor location, with misleading website highlighting 4 restaurants available and a bar where 2 of them were permanently closed, the bar not open every day, and the remaining restaurants not available too on a 7 days basis basically forcing guests to go venture outside looking for restaurants in an area poorly deserved by dining opportunities. This is not acceptable for an hotel pricing its rooms on the expensive range.

I travel a lot and this was honestly one of the most attentive and welcoming customer service experiences I’ve ever had. We booked a last minute stay with NO baggage or anything and I guess staff noticed it enough to bring phone chargers to our room, without our asking! We may have mentioned it in front of them without realizing but they picked up on it and even brought the correct chargers for our phones. Everyone in the hotel was friendly, professional, and kind. I am 100% returning for another visit.

However, the partition wasn't clear so we can't see the view when we soaked in the open air bath. The Japanese garden was large with a lot of big fishes. Overall, we were so impressed in this hotel and surely to come back again.

Location is not the best as it stands next to the exit from a highway. The hotel has a nice garden. The top floor offers a view of Mt Fuji but it looked rather empty and desolated. If only they could offer coffee or bar in that area.

The hotel building underwhelmed me. The interior looked and felt vey much like a hostel. I found the room to be dark and gloomy. Not nearly enough lighting. Clearly an older hotel. Different restaurants op premises but not always open. The hot baths not accessible to people with tatoos which ruled out both my wife and I. Staff very friendly and efficient.

The place is a little old, but that doesn't really matter since it's still 5 star quality and cleanliness. - dvg160 (10/5): Lovely hotel and fantastic restaurant - The hotel didn’t look much on arrival, not helped by the typhoon - but the service at check in, car parking and early room entry was first class. The hotel was quiet and spotlessly clean. The Teppenyaki restaurant was superb and we enjoyed two great meals there. We managed a glimpse of Mount Fuji from our room in between showers, and on a rainy day you can pass some time at the nearby tenpin bowling alley.
- Sparkyfletch (6/5): Sterile and underwhelming. - We just couldn't gel with this hotel. I believe there are some great exterior views but one third of the hotel looks down on the motorway, If you are in the unlucky one third it is a tease, you go to breakfast, look out of the window there and realise you got the booby prize view. Now, the law of averages say this will happen occasionally but other redeming factors often make up or even alieviate. Not here as it just seems a sterile place with never rude but slightly awkward staff, the type that make you feel the place would run better without guests. The breakfast are cosy and good food, both Japanese and international. Very detailed selection. The teppanyaki restauarant simply isnt that - you dont see the cooking, just shown to a table / booth to which you are served - aviod. You can get a Mt. Fuji view from the top floor viewing area, but again what a sterile place. nothing on the walls, bench seating, two vending machines, think classroom. What a lost opportunity when you could have a small coffee area or evening bar. How this hotel is rated so high remains a mystery to me. How the room rate can be so high is just dowright confusing.

- lougdsl (8/5): Beautiful hotel, just don’t arrive hungry! - The hotel was beautiful, absolutely spotless with lovely grounds. We arrived after travelling all day and very hungry so opted for the Italian restaurant on-site as it seemed the most affordable. The food was delicious, but small portions which made it quite expensive comparatively. Our meals (soup+main) cost approx $130AUD and we still needed to pop over to the FamilyMart and grab some more snacks afterward. The hotel breakfasts were really nice with a choice of traditional Japanese or western option. Both were huge spreads and very filling which was a great way to start the day. In hindsight I should have better researched the activity options for Gotemba, there didn’t seem to be a great deal and the weather was poor for our stay which meant our main reason for visiting (Fuji) was hidden in cloud the entire time. It was exceptionally comfortable though and by far our best sleep in Japan.

You'll also be treated to a water show with their synchronized fountain. The hosts are very service oriented and will be sure to please. This is dining in Japan with grace and elegance.
- janeh981 (10/5): Great hotel - I was working in the area and my partner had come to visit so I upgraded to this hotel from the one my company had booked me into - definitely a wise move. The room was enormous with a great view of Mount Fuji (which I never saw as I left and returned in the dark), it was spotless, comfortable bed and sitting area as well as a desk for me to work. The bathroom was also very generously sized and completely separate so I could get ready for work without having to creep around. We only ate at the teppanyaki restaurant in the hotel but it was excellent - pricey but top class food and we were treated to a light show from the dancing fountains too. The staff were all incredibly helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I'd like to return for a holiday!

The Onsen here is a delight. The staff very cordial and efficient. We were her on 10th April for a night. We would highly recommend this property.

There’s a few hotels to choose from in this area and this has to be the highest quality although s little quirky. Huge bedrooms, some with nice views of the gardens, nice single sex hot spring SPA. A choice of restaurants and classy bar although as is normal in provincial Japan everything closes early. Super Japanese breakfast, one of the best I’ve had anywhere. Great place to stay in the Fuji area for a couple of nights.

- cuegolf (8/5): Golf outing to Gotemba - We travelled as a group of 13 golfers from Bangkok and stayed at this wonderful hotel for 4 nights. Rooms are spacious and very clean with large bathroom. F&B at the hotels’ restaurant is good but “over-priced” where you can get similar dishes at many good restaurants outside paying at 30% less. Everything was good about this hotel except for 1 minor issue e.g. breakfast only starts from 07:00am and despite our group having stayed there for 4 nights with more than 10 rooms, they are not accommodative to our request for a breakfast pack as we had to leave for Narita Airport on the last day at 06:30am.

The hotel also offers a free hotel car if you book it so we used this service to go to the outlets. The driver was on time and so pleasant. When it was time to be picked up, he was early and was already waiting for us. By the time we got back to the hotel, the staff had already taken our luggage out of storage and had it all ready in the lobby for us so we didn't have to wait. Amazing experience and well worth the money

The room was massive, especially by Japanese standards. There was a giant tub in the room, plus an outstanding onsen and spa. Breakfast was tasty and the grounds were well kept and nice to walk around in. Would love to stay here again.
