Guest Reviews
- Ellen (2/5): - no communication possible with this hotel,
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great for a stop-over in Orléans
- Richard (8/5): Ok stay - Nice overnight stay pity we couldn’t have breakfast as they wouldn’t let our small dog into the eating area even though they claim to be dog friendly
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Neil (10/5): - Great value for money. Clean, comfortable, quiet. Great to have self catering facilities. Staff helpful and pleasent.
Stopped over on way to south of france and so good we booked it on way back too.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Très moyenne comme appartement. - Les appartement sont vieillissant.
- Neil (10/5): - Very good value for money. Well equiped in studios. Very clean. Check in easy.
Close proximity to shops and resteraunts. Nice to have a fan. Air conditioning would have been lovely.
- Mully (10/5): Good value for money - This hotel is a challenge to find and we were on foot. I can’t imagine people trying to drive here! The apartment/room is simple but has everything we need very clean view to speak But there is a window!
- Denise (10/5): - Sehr netter Empfang an der Rezeption, fragen würden beantwortet, kleinere Wünsche würden erfüllt, soweit möglich
- Verified traveler (10/5): Pleasant visit - The room was large and had a good selection of appliances and equipment for cooking and eating. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. It was an easy walk to the centre of the city. It delivered on what it promised.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ok hotel - The hotel was ok, just a strange smell in the bathroom. Breakfast was simple but ok!
- Robert (10/5): Good overnight stop - Fitted the bill perfectly for an overnight stop under Covid restrictions
- Josiane (10/5): arfait - Superbe séjour
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The rooms are spacious but not very clean. There is mould in the bathrooms. We asked for two baby beds a which weren’t there when we arrived so had to ask again and were told a baby bed wiukd
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very centrally located and about a 15 minute walk from the old town.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very disappointed to find there was a charge of 10€ a night to park in car park, not even secure parking gate left open all night. Breakfast 12€ bit expensive. Unless you have to be in the centre of Orléans wouldn’t recommend.
- Jesse (10/5): Hidden gem - very comfortable room with kitchen facilities and nice window view, location is great and within walking distance to city centre.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - II did not expect much for the price,, but I stayed at Apartcity in Strasburg and it was good basic hotel. I took a shower and water leaked through the door. I mopped the water wity floor mat and asked the receprion8st to remove the wet mat and clean after the leak. None was done. I asked to repair the leak, but nothing happened. The reviews of the hotel were misleading. Stay away from this property!
- Emmanuel (8/5): A seasonal guest - Excellent
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Neat modern building with a basic but functional kitchenette. Locating the property with a GPS was difficult and the checkin was unsatisfactory, there is no help if you have issues.
- PATRICK (8/5): - Excellent
- Verified traveler (2/5): WARNING TO ALL ENGLISH SPEAKERS! Nationalists! - If you are planning to use English as a language of communication in France NEVER consider this place to stay.We are a couple and needed to stay overnight in Orleans.E-mail,that we got after reservation, said that for late check-in after 3 p.m.,we will recieve code to get acess to a lock box at the hotel with the room key inside. As we did not get any code during that day we called a help line but the person who answered simply said NO ENGLISH.So we thought that upon arrival we will be able to get a hold of someone more professional and solve issue. We entered and there was absolutely noone, front desk was covered with gate and as we still haven't recieved any code we called again to help line. But this time it was even more ridiculous,as soon as man and woman on the phone heard English speech they just HANG UP ON US.Highly improper behavior for people working in hospitality industry at the place that has many foreign customers. This way we spent about an hour in a lobby until one lady opened the lock box with her code and we got our room key.As their parking lot was full and we didnt get any help with parking we had to look for parking spot on the streets for 40 more minutes. We also didn't get wi-fi code.In the morning we complained about the situation at the front desk but there was no appology, the guy said they could not sent code to our phone because our number was not french. And after we said that we are leaving review he laughed to our faces.WORST DISRESPECTFUL PLACE EVER!
- Ceri (6/5): Schlap to town. - Sofa bed was squeaky and uncomfortable. Otherwise the facilities were OK.
- Oliver (6/5): Has potential but disappointing - Fairly average accommodation that really needs some air conditioning, and, a good clean in the bathroom where there were a number of hairs from previous guests present. We also arrived to find the reception closed and no instructions on how to get our room key as a promised SMS was not received. The best features are the little kitchenette and the secure parking.
- Jun (4/5): Too hot and no extra fan - The room was too hot and there was just one fan and no air conditioning. When I requested extra fan, they said none was available. Since we could not sleep due to the unusual heat in the room, we checked out after two days. The balance two days rent was not refunded to us stating the "non-refundable" clause of online booking.
- SJB (10/5): An excellent base to explore Orleans - Spacious room and sde, comfy bed with immaculate linen and friendly reception staff (thank you Paul) + being close to the city centre! Pas Mal!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great hotel that allows bikes in rooms.
- Moana (2/5): - Nobody in the reception beds are horrible give back pain
Zero service no changing the bed sheets
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good hotel - I think it will be very good hotel traveling with family.
- Verified traveler (4/5): This is a really basic and tired hotel. - Our room had not been cleaned when we arrived, so we were "upgraded" to a bigger appartment on the ground floor. Lots of space, but rather dark and dismal. Shower head was broken, and the cubicle was rusty along the bottom.
- Mark (10/5): Great central budget hotel - The room was absolutely fine but not luxurious (we weren't expecting luxury) and it was a short walk to the town centre so no need for public transport. We did go out of the centre by car (you can park for 9€/night) and tram from the centre. The station and big library are very near and its about 10 minutes to the cathedral. Breakfast was very good for 8€ as well.
- SOPHIE (8/5): Good value - Decent size room, clean, central.
- Brenda (8/5): convenient and reasoabke cost hotel - 1 night stop off it euited out needs. very late booking all was oj
- Steven (4/5): Convenient hotel with poor reception hours - The reception shuts at 5pm on the weekend. No information was sent as to how to access our room key. I had to wait on hold for a while to get through to someone that could help. There was a bad smell in the bathroom.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This was the second time I stayed at Appart'City Orleans. The staff were extremely helpful and accomodating, although the hotel could do with some TLC and a bit of maintenance in the bathrooms. No issues with hygiene etc, and one simply cannot complain for the price.
- James (4/5): - OK I guess if it is just for a night.
- Bill (6/5): Clean hotel close to Orleans centre - Hotel is convenient for central Orleans. It is not a conventional hotel, as you have a kitchenette with fridge in your room. Not even internet in your room is included - that's 2€ a day extra. You can use free internet in the reception area, but there is not even one seat in the reception area, unlike other hotels. Breakfast is 9€ a day extra. Room servicing costs extra again. The reception desk is not manned 24/7 and breakfast is not served on Sundays.
- Martyn (4/5): Pretty average but in a good location for the city - Not great but for the money in a good location for the city
- Rob D. (10/5): fantastic value - Great twin room with cooking facilities ( hob, micrcowave, small
selection of cockery+cutlery). Quite spacious and very clean. In a quiet district within walking distance (15-20 mins) of city centre. Car park is quite small, and was full when we arrived at about 9.00PM, but free on-street parking nearby.
- Larry (10/5): Basic, but near perfect - We had our 20 year old son visit while we were working in Orleans, and this place allowed him to stay close in a very nice situation: close to city centre, rail station, and big food shop. The place was very well cared for, clean, and easy to prepare simple meals
- Mario (6/5): Basic budget option - This is more like a private room in a hostel than a hotel - it is an ok budget option, but nothing fancy. The rooms and bathrooms are pretty basic and they have no air conditioning. Staff were helpful, but only there till 11pm. There is nothing much around in the neighbourhood - except an excellent french restaurant (Le Petit Gone) just around the corner. There is a small kitchenette in the room, so if you prefer to cook, this is a good option. The main attractions of the city are a good walking distance away. Don't forget to take the trash out when you leave or you get charged an extra fee.
- Rachel (8/5): Very good hotel close to the railway station - Very good clean hotel, reasonably priced, near to the city. Perfect for a city break on a budget. All extras included such as soap, shower gel etc in the room. Close to the railway station and all amenities of the city. Includes a kitchenette which is useful for making a snack.
- Tom (8/5): City stop over - Surprised by the quality as we only intended a cheap stopover from south to north of France. Very impressed with room, very clean and tidy, with small kitchen equipment.
Near to town centre, easy to get food across the road in Ibis, or a short walk into town.
Only problem is parking, there are only a few spaces, which we could not reserve, we were very lucky and managed to find a space outside in the street.
- Roger Cumming (8/5): Where do I park?? - Overall, our stay at this hotel was satisfactory. However, arriving late i.e. about 11:15 pm, we found getting access to the building quite difficult. The worst aspect of this was that the person providing, by phone, the various codes needed was not able to tell us how to get into the car park, although he told us to try two different codes. (The car park appeared to be far too small for the possible number of guests, and it was full.) We had to park in a space on a side road. That was difficult to find, and was about 150 yards away from the hotel. There was no tea or coffee available on our arrival, but the room, facilities, bathroom and kitchen area were clean and very satisfactory. The address supplied was not exactly correct, so it took a long time to find the hotel by Sat-Nav. The area the hotel is in is a bit run down.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice but... - Spacious room, comfortable bed, decent rate and convenient location. The only drawback was a damp, musty odor in the room. I informed the front desk about it and asked if anyone else had complained of this, and they said no. However, I saw at least one another comment on this site about it...
- Neil (8/5): Hard to find! - A comfortable, clean room in a modern building within easy walking distance of Orleans city centre. The only drawback is finding the hotel which is located in an obscure one way street with no signage to help- there isn't even any Appart'City signage on the car park entrance gate. So be prepared to search, or ask!
- Global traveller (8/5): Suited our needs - It was a last minute booking while driving through France and stayed for 2 nights. It was not really close to the city centre but that didn't matter for us as we were using Orlean as a base to go to Chambord. Found an amazing restaurant around the corner called Le Petit Gone. The chef comes out and explains dishes. Helps if you appreciate good food and at least attempt to speak French (but they will speak English if you need). We would probably book this apartment hotel again if we were to be in Orlean in the future. Very cheap and easy to get to if driving.
- Andrew (10/5): Home from home - Although we were just 'passing through', we would have been happy to stay longer. The studio-rooms are well laid out to provide the traveller with home comforts and conveniences away from home. Should we find ourselves in the area again, we would not hestitate to return to Appart'City Orleans. The location is convenient for the City Centre.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent set up! - Got there and had not received text to include code for entrance to building(as stated at time of booking would happen on day of arrival) and that meant added expense of phone call to Strasburg to find out details re entry, safe code containing our key and how to get to our room. First key did not work so we then had to call again to get an alternative key to another room. This done all was well and the room was very comfortable and very clean. The facilities though basic for cooking work well for one night stay and even supply you with wash up liquid in kitchen and shower gel in shower! Staff efficient and apologetic. Parking is available but you must ask to book this beforehand if you need it and arrive after office hours. This was not made clear to us we did park on road nearby and this is free and no permit needed opposite Ibis around the corner. A great set up and despite the hiccups we would use this again for an overnight stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Unhelpful staff - Make sure that car parking is booked if required at time of booking. Having arrived at the apartments after a long drive from Spain only to be met by a shoulder shrugging man on reception when I enquired about parking what not helpfu l to myself and a very tired famiy. I ended up going round to the Ibis hotel round the corner to ask the VERY helpful reception staff there for advice. Apartment did the job just ruined by staff attitude
- Verified traveler (2/5): Too good to be true - When I booked this hotel it seemed too good to be true - a really excellent rate for a hotel within easy walking distance of Orleans centre complete with kettle, fridge etc. Booked for a Friday night very shortly before departure, I could not believe my luck. But there is a catch. The smell. We had two studios and both had a smell which seemed either to be damp or sewage or a mixture. The smell in one room was definitely worse than in the other. In one room, with the window open all night, it was just about OK but with the window shut the smell was very noticeable. Apart from that, the room was modern, functional with everything we needed. We mentioned the smell when checking out and the staff said it was to do with the pipework. This is a relatively new building and it is a shame the management can't sort out this problem.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Orleans - Good apartment. A bit far (walking) from the center of town. Clean and friendly.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Average accomodation - Decent hotel and average accomodation. Unfortunately the bathroom smelt strongly of male reproductive bodily fluids and possibly the world's most annoying internet which had to be re-logged and registered every so often.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good place - Knida tricky to find the back entrance but everything is easy once you know it is there. Couldn't figure out how to work the AC so just opened the windows at night and room stayed very comfortable. I would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - There is no 24 hour front desk so we had to call someone to let us in. It took us a while to be able to get to the room. No air conditioning in the room
- Flagg (6/5): Nice, but Front Desk service needs changes - Stay was nice. Hotel was hard to find at first, but we managed. The best advice is to get there before 5p. Otherwise you will not get into your room!!! We had to call hotels.com for assistance. We waited in the lobby for 40 minutes before learning that our key was in a lockbox that required a password/code that we didn't have. Luckily one of the other guests helped us.
- Marcus (6/5): Good value for money... if you get in - The hotel gives good value for money but getting in after midnight proved to be difficult. Had to call a service number to receive access codes and guidance which cost me a fortune on international call charges.
- wtrc99 (2/5): awful reception - When we arrived, we were told that we could not access the hotel grounds to park or drop off bags as we had not specified this request at the time of booking! After a lot of trouble we found a parking spsce and struggled back to the hotel and were then directed to our room, which was still full of dirty linen from the prevouos occupant and had not been cleaned, a relpacement room was then allocated . When i said we wanted to cancel and go elsewhere i was advised that we could. We had similar trouble when leaving in the morning. My advice is to stay elsewhere
- Rene (6/5): Just OK - The hotel is somewhat difficult to find and if you think you get to park there, think again. You must have a parking reservation and like other AppartCity locations, get there before they close. We watched person after person try to get in the gate and park only to find out they couldn't park there. We would not return.
