- rosgari (10/5): Recommended, nice small hotel, clean and convenient. - Hermitage hotel is a small well appointed hotel near the center of town. The Front Desk staff was very helpful, specially Sonia (I hope I am remember her name correctly) who went above and beyond with recommendations and help with transportation. The breakfast buffet was included and served in an area with indoor and outdoor seating. There is a variety of cold food and a few hot items to chose from. The hotel has a shuttle that takes you to the center of town and back to the hotel. The drivers were professional and the service is very convenient. The room was clean and spacious. Very nice toiletries are provided. The only minus for me is that the hotel is pet friendly, so the shuttle van is full of dog/cat hair, so if you are allergic this might be a problem... also the pet hair gets on your clothes after riding the van.

- Gundars O. (8/5): Good sleep quality, friendly staff, clean rooms. Not the perfect location - Hotel's location is a bit far from everything, but it's a quiet place. Good quality bedding, we had a good sleep here. friendly staff, clean. Although being a 4 star hotel, they provide some 5-star services as turn down service, towels changed several times a day, etc. Hotel also has own vegetable garden, which is charming. There are children's playrooms both indoor and outdoor. You'll have to rent a bicycle, if staying here. Beach and downtown is not quite walking distance. Hotel's own bar and restaurant is probably not the top choice in Forte dei Marmi. The promoted Lido beach Club, which belongs to the same group, is for extra charge, so there is no actual benefit out of that.

Siłownia w tym hotelu to kpina (mała połowa z wybrakowanym, zniszczonym sprzętem), basen brudny, jacuzzi nie działa.

- 150misham (10/5): Fantastic (Repeated) Family Experience - Well, we are returning for the tenth yer in a row: same hotel, same rooms. Two reasons: the grounds and the people. Staring with Gennaro as an all star concierge (he is the soul of the resort), and all the breakfast crew, and finishing with the room cleaning crew, come here (particularly with a family), and enjoy Forte without the noise! Needless to say, we are returning next summer, and hope for a revamp promised by the new owners.
- PIERLUIGI (2/5): NON consigliato. - letto comodo doccia spaziosa ho soggiornato in tutto il mondo in hotels da 1 (Siria 😊) a oltre 4000 USD/notte. Non amo scrivere recensioni negative, ma questo hotel ha un rapporto qualità/prezzo decisamente pessimo. Impossibile avere un ferro da stiro per stirare una camicia (servizio invece avuto in molti altri 4 e anche 5 stelle). Disponibile solo servizio stiratura per 14 Euro per una camicia, inaccettabile. Biciclette affittabili, il che sarebbe un buon servizio. Solo che il servizio noleggio chiude in fine pomeriggio e quindi, essendo arrivato in fine pomeriggio, impossibile avere una bicicletta per muoversi in serata, nonostante fosse alta stagione. Anche qui, confronto impietoso con varie altre strutture di qualità frequentate. Per spostarsi di 2.1 km mi stato organizzato un servizio taxi fatturatomi 25 Euro (per 2km), anche questo inaccettabile. In stanza, nessuna bottiglia d’acqua gratuita di benvenuto (per altro in agosto con temperature di 36-37 gradi). Anche questo inaccettabile in un 4* con stanza da 400 Euro/notte. Consegnata la stanza, ho chiesto una spremuta al bar in attesa di trasporto. Impossibile avere la bibita senza dover tornare alla reception per pagare. Per fortuna la barista mi ha offerto un bicchier d’acqua. Dettaglio meno rilevante: chiusura stanze con chiave classica (non tessera elettronica) e portachiave molto ingombrante, quindi impossibile da tenere con se quando si esce, senza una borsetta. Personale quantomeno sorridente, ma apparentemente con le mani legate. Hotel altamente sconsigliato per chi sa cos’è ed è abituato ad un vero servizio a 4 o 5 stelle.

- Jane (9/5): Attractive, comfortable hotel with pretty gardens and pool. - Very attractive hotel, set within pretty gardens, with a good sized pool and playground for children. The room was modern and comfortable, with a large bathroom and a nice balcony. The breakfast was excellent with a big buffet of fruit, ham, cheeses, croissants, pastries, eggs, bacon, sausages etc. The main restaurant was also excellent. The staff were all delightful and very helpful. There was a regular shuttle bus between the beach and the town centre; there were also bikes for hire. All in all a great holiday.

From the friendly and professional welcome by the irrepressible Sonia to our reluctant departure after 5 glorious days of celebration we regarded this hotel as our home away from home. The staff, the accommodation and the beach all exceeded our expectations and our family)aged from 1 to 69) were all very happy ! If they'll have us back and the new management maintain the same comfort facilities and standards - we shall return!!

The rooms were clean with a design of retro-vintage-modern. It is a very mellow family friendly property. Forte di Marmi is really an expensive place so I don't think you can find an reasonably priced hotel anywhere. However for the price we paid for the hotel gym to be so bad was disappointing. In general things felt out of date.

- Denisa09 (7/5): Good - Location and scenery is beautiful. Very nice pool, that we could not use though as it was too cold to swim (mid September) and the pool is not heated. Our room was very nice but some people from our group ended up sleeping on folding beds. The hotel arranged a convenient transport to the airport in Pisa which we really appreciated as we did not have a car rental and the taxi prices in the area are beyond crazy. We arrived in the evening to learn that the hotel restaurant was out of order. After a long day we had to drive to a restaurant offsite and ended up eating very late. An email to the guests about this would have been easy and saved many of us the extra time and hassle. The next day there was no lunch facility for the same reason. I find this unacceptable in a property that's in the middle of nowhere. The breakfast was quite nice but at some point they ran out of eggs, ham, fresh vegetables and other supplies and did not refill them anymore. I thought this was very sad also considering the restaturant didn't work.

- Anns11024 (10/5): Italy at it's best - The Hermitage Hotel is a lovely, small hotel with the most beautiful grounds. The hotel is a gem and the staff remarkable. It is so nice to stay in a place where the staff is so attentive and friendly and always available. The rooms are very clean and the style reminiscent of days gone by with modern conveniences. In short it was delightful! We were there when Israel was attacked and the front dest set up their computers to play just about every station from I24 to Fox to Italian news so that we could watch the incredible horror. They are truly a hotel with tremendous feeling, high standards and exemplary service. Do not hesitate, go to this lovely resort which is walking distance to town and beach and also offers a shuttle to each.

- beneH1255PH (4/5): Wouldn’t recommend the hotel or area - To be honest, we were quite disappointed with our stay at the Hermitage Hotel, for the following reasons: 1. The most disappointing thing was the price of the beach club. While the website does say that “Beach tents rates […] are not included in room rates”, we thought the fact that the hotel was described as having “a private beach” would mean that the charges would be reasonable. The price quoted by the reception when I asked was €200-€500 PER DAY. So unless you’re the type of person that can spend that much on sun bed hire every day, don’t expect to use the beach club. 2. Overall, the hotel did not feel that luxurious for the price. While the rooms were spacious and clean, the decor felt a little dated. The free coffee in the room was Nescafé instant, compared to coffee machines in all of the other places we stayed in Italy. At breakfast, my girlfriend was charged €8 for two fried eggs, even though scrambled eggs were served for free. Overall, it just didn’t feel that great for the price. 3. The hotel didn’t really feel that relaxing either. The noise insulation was not very good, and combine that with the fact that it’s a child-friendly hotel meant that we were often woken in the mornings by children in the halls/rooms around us (even though we stayed during term time). We had dinner at the hotel restaurant one night and there is a football stadium right next door. So you could hear every kick, whistle, crowd cheer etc. The hotel is also next to lots of big residential properties with pools, so we couldn’t relax on our room veranda area without hearing kids shouting in the pool next door. 4. The location isn’t ideal. The hotel is not on the coast (though there is a free shuttle to the town or beach club) - it’s surrounded by roads with no pavement so it’s difficult to walk anywhere. A walk to the nearest big shop requires you to walk along the side of quite a big road. It’s also quite far from the train station and when we arrived, there were no taxis outside so I’d recommend pre-ordering one if arriving by train (which is not cheap - €25-30 for an 8 minute drive). 5. Finally, while this is not the fault of the hotel, we did not like the area at all. While we were expecting there to be beach clubs at the beach, there were just beds as far as the eye could see in either direction and right down to the water - you could hardly see the beach/sand at all. The town is full of designer shops but there was hardly anyone in them. It just seemed like an odd place, with a disconnect between the price of things and how nice it actually was. In the end we checked out 2 days into our 4 day visit, and went to stay in Pisa instead. Personally, I would not recommend this hotel or forte dei marmi more generally.

- Alessandro (9/5): A very pleasant and relaxed stay. - The property is located in a very quiet part of Forte dei Marmi and sits on unusually large green grounds. The rooms were large and well appointed. All members of staff were extremely helpful and responsive to any need or request. A larger gym was expected.

Reception and so on is well organized Food is reasonable The restaurant (s) is close to disaster. Not organized anywhere near the standard of the hotel leads you to expect ! Staff is sweet but running in all directions without proper service.
- Hans-peter (10/5): Most amazing garden and outdoor facility of all Forte hotels or at least the 35 we know. - The garden is amazing. Personnel is super friendly. Parking ideal. Super quiet location. Nothing in particular. Gym equipment could be a bit better, but ok.

- Richard (10/5): The hotel is great for families with young children as it has a very large, safe play area. - We have been to this hotel many times in the past and have always had a great affection for the place. It has in the relatively recent past changed management and a lot of the old staff have left with the very notable exception of Gennaro on Reception, who is the beating heart of the place. We all found the staff to be helpful and polite particularly Sonia and of course Gennaro. Our room could have been a little bigger and with a much better view (we overlooked roof tops and the fire escape) at the back of the hotel.
