Guest Reviews
- Rosanna (9/5): Lovely stay in a quieter end of Laung Prabang - Pinky, the owner, is a lovely, eccentric person who was always available to help and chat. The property itself is huge, with a wonderful pool and garden. The breakfast was lovely with freshly made eggs. The free bikes are great to get into town on, as it is a fair walk. The room itself was nice if a little dated already (which is interesting considering it seems to be a new-ish property). Go to Ock Pop Tok, it’s a short walk away and amazing! The price quoted for laundry was very expensive - we took ours into town instead for well under half the price. Rooms could be a bit brighter and the bathroom seemed a tad unfinished. Though none of this detracted from our stay and we had a lovely time - would thoroughly recommend.

Rien
- Redfern (10/5): - The pool was very lovely. The owner is very accomodating and helpful
- xiao (7/5): Good price - Price Not so clean
- James (7/5): A lovely stay and with some attention to the rooms, this has the potential to be a fantastic hotel!! - The pool was excellent and the host Pinky was fantastic and incredibly friendly. There was bicycles for hire too along with a free shuttle into the centre 3 times a day. Pinky also gave us a lift to the airport before our flight which was incredibly kind (even though it was for a small fee). The pool gets the sun for the majority of the day too, which is always a bonus!! The hotel has over 20 rooms and only 6 sun loungers. You had to be very lucky to get one for the day or jump on one when someone vacated. Like musical chairs!! A lot of work is being done to improve the outside of the hotel, including spa and chillout areas in the garden but i would say, as a priority, the rooms need a bit of TLC before making the outside luxurious. WiFi was slow but I understand this was being upgraded during our stay
- Pamela (7/5): A caring host, 6 minutes outside of town - The proprietress of this hotel is amongst the best you will find. She cares about her guests, remembers who everyone is and what their plans are, arranges taxis, laundry and provides whatever information is required. The hotel is full of traditional teak furniture with lovely pool and dining areas. The location is outside of the main town, but the hotel does provide a free shuttle, to and from town, at specific times. With one exception, it is necessary to travel into Luang Prabang proper to access restaurants. All of the furniture, while beautiful, is very hard. There is nothing soft to sit on.
- ewa (10/5): Excellent - The staff was the best part of the hotel. It's also close to the city center and shops. Scooter and bike rentals are available. Everything was great. Everything is good
Rien
- Nicci (8/5): It has a great pool to relax by - Great pool. Amazing helpful staff. A bit out of town, but shuttle service was great and easy to get a Loca taxi as well. Our room didn't have any windows! But the bed was comfy
- nicola (8/5): - The draw of this hotel is the lovely pool and outdoor space, great to chill out there The rooms were a little dark and tired

- Wiktoria (10/5): - Incredibile staff willing to help with anything and anytime, delicious breakfast and a very carrying owner. Good allocation with transfer to the city provided by the hotel if you prefer bikes you also won’t be disappointed. Loved the stay!
- Lorraine (10/5): We stayed 7 days and returning for 1 further night. Great hotel - The hotel was good
If I returned I would book a pool side room as it’s nice to have a balcony
The breakfast room was lovely and welcoming
The breakfast was good and chef happy to prepare lovely eggs
There was a hotel pick up and drop off service into town
It was a little to far to walk
The pool was amazing and very clean
Pinkie and her mum was helpful
Pinkie helped us when we were stuck with our train tickets Which was amazing help We loved hotel nothing to dislike
- JEAN MARC (9/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): Return Visit to a Fantastic Hotel - A return visit to a lovely hotel
Family run and very welcoming
Staff exceedingly helpful
Room very comfortable
Fantastic swimming pool area
Short TukTuk ride from town - use app for best prices - hotel also offers a free shuttle several times per day All good
- Anne (10/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): Very comfortable stay in a family run hotel - Very friendly family run hotel
Comfortable room
Lovely swimming pool area
Easy access to town via hotel shuttle service - or by TukTuk
Local supermarket only 200m
- Walter (10/5): A very comfortable stay - Pinkie and her mum were excellent hosts. We were warmly welcomed and treated like family. The accommodation is clean and comfortable, and everything seemed to work well. We initially chose the Vangsavath for the swimming pool and it was definitely the ‘jewel in the crown’. The water was free of chlorine and it was kept super clean. It’s an easy walk into town, you literally come out of the hotel, turn right and follow the road. Pinkie also offers a free shuttle into town which works really well for the night market (great place to eat). We took a tuk tuk on one occasion and paid 50,000 which is about £1.50 so that’s another option if you don’t want to walk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again should we find ourselves in Luang Prabang. Nothing. All was good
- Wendy (5/5): -
- Sopee (10/5): -
- Maria Elena (10/5): RELAX - La tranquilidad, relax, hotel estilo rústico.
- Leighton (10/5): -
- Russell (10/5): Great find in Luang Prabang - Beautiful hotel with stylish wood decor. Fantastic swimming pool. Superb breakfast.Easy access to the centre of town either by hotel shuttle bus or free hotel bikes. We chose the bikes and used them all day. Pinky and her mother were very welcoming. Pinky booked us bus tickets and drove us to the bus station when we left. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from an excellent restaurant with sunset views over the Mekong. I highly recommend this hotel. They are planning a spa area which will make this hotel even better.
- Gilles (7/5): size and quality of the room do not match - Kind staff
Nice swimming pool
large and beautiful garden room not as big as indicated
poorly soundproofed
open shower in the bathroom and WC, so water everywhere after the shower
scrambled reception of TV channels
- Femke (10/5): Incredible - We were planning to stay for one night but extended for two more nights because we loved it so much! Pinky was the most amazing host and made us feel so welcome. She gave us recommendations on where to go, we could take bicycles for free and there is a free shuttle to the night market. The pool is incredible the beds are really good, there is a smart tv so you can watch Netflix, a fully stocked mini fridge and fresh towels every day. Even after my stay when I accidentally left my card in an ATM machine I could message Pinky and she helped me find the right resources to get it back. She’s honestly the nicest person ever. Thank you so much for our incredible stay!
- Neil Jerome (8/5): - Nice venue
- Suzanne (10/5): Pool and fast internet a bike ride from night market - Loved the pool. Fresh water in a beautiful garden surrounded by palm trees. Easy place to relax after a day exploring.
Fast internet. Easy bike ride to town. For those who prefer to be more independent travelers.
The hotel owners make you feel like you are in a luxury suite with such attention to detail and a well stocked minibar. Great shower and comfy bed.
- socalkroh (10/5): Beautiful place in a beautiful town with the best host in Luang Prabang - We usually don't rate accommodations but this one left a lasting 5-star impression to us while travelling South-East Asia for 6 weeks.
Atmosphere: felt very welcome from the first minute to the last. A big highlight is the super new and beautiful fresh water pool in the backyard. Being there felt like a little private oasis. There are also plans to add a bar, a gym and a sauna.
Rooms: the rooms are clean and equipped with everything you need. We liked the little details like having comfy bathrobes without extra charge.
Location: the Hotel offers a get away from the crowds in the historic center while being close enough to reach when ever you feel like it.
Transport: the host makes it really convenient to get around. They offer bicycles for short distance and a shuttle service to the night market.
Above all the host Pinky was incredibly nice. She was the main reason why we extended our stay to what we had originally planned.
Thank you <3
- Julius (10/5): Totally beautiful and relaxed here - We had a super relaxing and lovely time here.
The pool was very clean and great.
We were able to hire a scooter from the accommodation and there was a free shuttle service from the hotel to Staudt.
The host and the team were very nice and fulfilled all our requests.
- Joshua (10/5): Nice place - Nice hotel made of wood that is quiet and with a great swimming pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. WiFi dropped a few times but no big deal.
- Scott (10/5): - Amazing space! Couldn't ask for better hosts. Lovely family that really care about guests feeling welcome.
- Glenn (10/5): Recommended hotel - If you're looking for a comfortable hotel, this is the place I recommend
First, the Reception is very friendly & speaks fluent English so that makes things very nice plus gives helpful suggestions on tourist attractions.
Second, the hotel is centrally, located and close to the Night market
There's also a good free breakfast with fresh omelettes and free bicycles to drive around the city, which is really fun
Another nice feature is that this family run hotel offers a 5 minute free shuttle and pick up from the night market. They also offer airport drop off for a fee which is convenient because taxis are not as common in this city as other cities.
Good fast Wi-Fi, clean room & hot water are also good benefits Nice mineral pool in the garden without chlorine
- r0setah (10/5): Travel details in Kuala Lumpur - We had an absolutely amazing time at this hotel. The manager Pinky was so accommodating, nothing was too much. We were well looked after, the food was amazing, the staff were lovely and the accommodation was really high end. Beautiful. Pinky, was brilliant at advising places to go and see, which included the night market where we had some brilliant food and a trips were organised from the hotel. We felt very safe and would love to return, maybe bringing members of our extended family to enjoy 😉 Thank you Pinky and Staff you made our break really enjoyable 😉 Roseta and Sam
- Sarith (6/5): Nice - No breakfast
- Koernia☝ (9/5): Superb -
- 465carmelt (10/5): Amazing stay - Had the most amazing experience at this family run hotel. The staff were all welcoming especially pinky who went above and beyond for us while we stayed. There is a free shuttle to the night market and also a free pickup in the evening which is super handy.
The breakfast is also delicious and super filling. The overall hospitality and experience staying here was amazing and would 100% recommend this hotel
- emilc610 (10/5): Very nice location and super friendly staff - I was there for two nights and enjoyed the stay at this hotel. It is a small, family operated hotel, around 2.5 km from the city center of Luang Prabang away. The owner is very friendly and speaks good English . The hotel offers a shuttle to the night market, so in the evening it’s easy to return to the hotel .
Breakfast was also good and enough for the start into the day ( it is a la card breakfast ) . Thank you for the wonderful stay at your accommodation! Continue to do your way and show and welcome the world to Laos and Luang Prabang !
- steven (10/5): - Charming and warm..
- almaecuatoriana (10/5): A foreign hotel with a hometown feel! - I wish our journey would have allowed us to extend our stay here. Both Christina and her daughter Pinky were helpful and kind throughout our stay. Our breakfast was made for us and served in the absolutely beautiful dining area in the back of the hotel. We had the opportunity to talk to Christina during breakfast and were delighted to learn about the hotel, her family, her garden and plans for the hotel pool. I could tell they are a close knit family and their strong family values are reflected in the way they run the hotel! The hotel itself is gorgeous, clean and well maintained. Although outside the center of town, they offer free shuttle service to the center and also have bikes for customers to use. I would also like to thank Pinky for going above and beyond to get me a device I had left at the hotel despite having to get it to me in Thailand! A heartfelt thank you to her and her entire family and hotel staff for making our stay so fabulous! We look forward to the opportunity to return in the future and take a dip in the new pool!❤️
- Steven (6/5): Pleasant - Pinky was an absolutely fantastic hostess. The room was a little worn-looking and could have used a bit of sprucing up.
- Aneta (10/5): Pleasant and comfortable stay at Vangsavath Hotel. Highly recommend! - The service was excellent. Pinky the manager was attentive and very helpful with everything I needed and enquired about. I highly recommend staying at Vangsavath. N/A.
- Julian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Diane (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful hotel and great English speaking staff. Pinki at the hotel could not be more welcoming and helpful. Great restaurants and shops around the hotel and a short drive by Pinki into the night market. She also arranged our visit to the waterfall and gave us great advice on what to see. Nothing our stay was perfect
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- steven (10/5): - The hotel shuttle schedule thru out the day was perfect.
- Esther (10/5): Exceptional - Great breakfast freshly cooked!
Very warm and welcoming hosts!!
She was super helpful meeting all our needs Absolutely nothing
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samuel (10/5): Great service and comfortable clean room - Lovely stay here as a couple. Beautiful old French colonial style building and large gardens out the back.
Although slightly out of the old town, this didn't feel like an issue as there was a free shuttle bus running AND free bikes available to hire from the hotel.
The service was top notch, big shout out to Pinky who really couldn't do enough to help!
I would recommend staying here when you visit Luang Prabang.
- Ravy (10/5): - Friendly staffs
- Charlie (10/5): Exceptional - Our stay at Vangsavath Hotel was so great. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and comfortable with a lovely deck outside. The hotel is a ten minute drive from the city centre but there is a free shuttle service provided by the hotel and also free bikes available. I would definitely stay here again.
- Isabel (10/5): - The hotel was very clean, quiet, and comfortable! There’s a shuttle service into town (since it’s not within walking distance) which was very convenient. There’s also free bike rentals! The staff were very helpful and organized a trip to the waterfall for us. Laundry service was quick, and they’re installing a pool in a few months!
- Ingrid (10/5): It's an old house but comfortable -
- Ingrid (10/5): It was comfortable. -
- Tony (10/5): - Great place to stay with my family, felt safe the whole time, plus you can bring food in and eat in the back. They have nice big dining table, can use their plates and utensils. Highly recommended 👍⚡️
- Robert (9/5): Close tontge old quarter and Mekong - Pinky, the owner makes this place, so helpful and willing to accommodate where possible. There is a free shuttle service into the night markets, which is also a short walk away, half of which is along the Mekong. There's nothing really not to like. Trips and minibuses can be organised and being owned by a local you're supporting families.
- Jake (10/5): Exceptional -
- Souphom (10/5): Exceptional - Family owned and operated. Very lovely family. Accomodating to every need. Don't let the location deter you from staying here. The hotel provides transportation, even after official hours. Just let them know and they are more than happy to help.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Super helpful staff and owners, all the right facilities in this spot at the edge of town.
- Alexis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Meng (10/5): Charming, rustic hotel with exceptional host - This is an exceptionally charming hotel with great access to the night market via their free shuttle. I've stayed at hundreds of hotels and I must say that Pinky was the best. She really went above and beyond to arrange for the taxis, activities, booking tickets for the train and even helped us find a fantastic free hospital for kids nearby. We are so thankful for her help and she was the first we contacted! Nothing
- Jeffrey (10/5): Excellent option for a quiet getaway - Excellent stay, very hospitable staff and great service. The breakfast is very complete, and the option to use a bicycle with no extra charge is useful. Luang Prabang is not big so it is easy to get around.
Extended my stay multiple times (ended up spending 5 nights in total).
Ms. Pinky and Mr. Phong were both incredibly friendly and willing to help with anything you may need.
- Alan (10/5): - I am so happy we booked this property, the entire staff was amazing to us. The hotel had a lot of amenities such as transportation on a set schedule to the night market and back. Even then, a simple conversation with the front desk could help accommodate any situation. Staff was constantly giving us recommendations and helped us navigate around Luang Prabang. Because of the location, it was very quiet at all periods of the day and night. I would highly recommend this place due to the staff and how nice the rooms were. Definitely coming back to this place when we come back to Luang Prabang!
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Great
- Ola (10/5): Exceptional - The manager of the hotel Pinky is incredible.
So helpful in so many ways.
I got sick and was in bed for a couple of days and she made sure that I’m comfortable and taken cared of.
She also helped with the scooters and guided us on what to do around the city.
- Samban (10/5): Staff are friendly and willing to help in everything we needed - Cleanest and friendlier
- Entela (10/5): - Very nice hotel. Owners were extremely helpful with information about city, restaurants etc. They drove us to the city center and markets as many times as we asked! Property was beautiful, well maintained.
- Michal (9/5): Superb - Wooden interior. Pinky is a nice and helpful person with great level of English. Strong shower current, so women can wash their hair easily. Free shuttle to Night market (we had a car, so we did not use it, but nice to have such option). Sawmill noises.
- Melvyn (9/5): Superb -
- Russ (8/5): Very good - This is a pretty decent hotel, situated about 2.5 kms from the night market. To the credit of the staff, they offered me a free ride into town every time they saw me leaving the hotel. The rooms are little a dark but did have a decent hot water shower and reasonable wifi. The staff were helpful. Not much natural light in the room, but it was still clean and comfortable.
- Raymond (10/5): Nice hotel with fantastic staff. - Nice old style colonial hotel. A wee bit out of the way, but they provide a free shuttle service into town, the staff were excellent, they couldn’t do enough for you.Hotel wasn’t new, but kept very clean. Nice and quiet location with little garden to the rear of the hotel.
- Brian (10/5): - A little Gem that’s not right in town but has an excellent private bus to take you in Town.
Pinky was so helpful and delightful to speak with and her service was 100 percent, my family loved our stay and we will definitely be back!
- ZLawrence (10/5): Super hospital hosts and a gem of a hotel! - I really loved this place, felt very family run and personal, nothing was too much trouble. It is a little out of the centre but the free shuttle is perfect and tuk tuks easy to get if the times don’t suit. All the staff were super friendly especially Pinky on reception who was always there to greet you. I notice there are lots if comments about breakfast but having been travelling around south east Asia this was by far the best breakfast I’ve had and well worth the money. It’s cooked fresh for you so piping hot too! I would definitely recommend this place, it’s a little gem!
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (5/5): Nothing to write home about - There was no free breakfast as advertised. The staff didn’t speak English so it was hard to get help except from one person and sh e got a little snippy at times
- Gerson (9/5): Superb - Nice and comfortable rooms, with good ac and mosquito net in front of the window. Good shower with good pressure and hot water. The staff was very nice and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed! The hotel is a bit outside of the old part of the town but there is a shuttle service and they drove as whenever we wanted into the city (5min). Our room went out to a little street and it was sometimes a bit noisy at night.
- Wolfgang (9/5): Superb - As before, it has been a great pleasure to stay at Vangsavath hotel , with the outstanding friendliness and help when needed of Khun Pinky & all his staff !
- Conor (10/5): Excellent service would definitely recommend and would come back! - Staff were excellent went above and beyond! very welcoming and helped us book bus to waterfall then sorted our train tickets to van vieng and transfers! Slightly out of the town but the free shuttle from the hotel makes up for that!
- G5490OImonicam (10/5): Best stay of our SE Asia trip! - I can’t say enough about our stay. Pinky and the rest of the hotel staff are so incredibly helpful and insightful and because of them we had an absolutely unbelievable time. We even extended our stay! Free shuttle to town. Free bikes. They help with excursions. Truly anything you need. We felt very taken care of.
- Cho (10/5): 10/10!!! - The hospitality is unmatched!!! Everyone was super sweet and helpful. The moment we were greeted, we knew we made the right choice staying here. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. The shuttle service and free bike rental were convenient.
- Gicobi (10/5): - Lovely place to stay and Pinky and the staff were really helpful and accommodating. Helped us to book coach tickets and arrange a driver to see the waterfall. Was such a lovely stay.
- Alastair (9/5): We had a really good time there. Highly recommended. - The hotel is in a very pleasant old Colonial building. The staff are very very friendly and helpful. They couldn't have been more so, arranging a wonderful trip to the waterfall (and recommending an excellent restaurant there the "Carpe Diem"). They also organised a fantastic boat trip up the Mekong River for us, with a really good meal on board, for only $30 each. The hotel also has a free shuttle into town and back, in a rather eccentric old rattletrap (which can also pick about 8-10 people up from the Airport, with bags, though not free on that journey). The breakfast was OK but quite expensive and not brilliant. "Ham"=spam, scrambled egg=chopped up omelette. And much better croissants can be had at the Zürich Bread outlet. But breakfast is not compulsory, and in any case our fellow travellers liked the omelettes a lot.
- Mathieu (9/5): Clean hotel, great staff, would go again - Welcoming and clean hotel with great staff. I loved that I could borrow a bike everyday to go to the centre of Luang Prabang (10 minutes on a flat road). Comfortable bed, available snacks, the room was cleaned everyday. Shuttle bus is a plus (to and from the hotel, 3x/day), as well as motorcycle renting (10$/day). Breakfast was not included in my reservation and it cost 10$, which I find expensive (although I didn’t get to see/taste it…).
If you want to stay in the centre, maybe it’s not the best location for you and you can find a hotel in the centre for the same price.
- Mike (10/5): Excellent customer service that goes above and beyond. - The hotel manager, PInky was fantastic! From the moment I arrived she provided myself with excellent customer service. She went out of her way to make sure that I was comfortable as before I arrived I was in a motorbike accident.
The facilities were spotless and the breakfast was light and refreshing. I would definitely stay again! Great quality and comfort for the price.
- Marcus (10/5): If I return I will stay here again. Very satisfied. - Friendly, clean, and aesthetically pleasing place. Pinky is great to deal with. They offer trips to the market free and arrange other tours. Will book train tickets. Perfect.
- Gus (10/5): Exceptional service - The best service that you can imagine in a Luang Prabang hotel. Pinky has helped us with suggesting activities and organising them, and at a competitive rate. The hotel shuttle was flexible around our schedules and was more than enough to compensate the location of the hotel that is slightly further from the city centre. Not much really; as said the location is slightly off center, and there was some noise but mostly due to the NYE.
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): - Beautiful wood and open air spaciousness with garden views and courtyard. Lovely personal attention by family who owns the property. Wonderful homemade yoghurt in the mornings. A real hot water deep soaking tub in our room--not an easy find! Lovely housekeeping staff. English is understood and spoken.
It's generally quiet unless a large group is visiting or there's an activity in the surrounding neighborhood. This is in the local village, not the tourist village, but they will drive you to the night market, or arrange as you desire.
- Jason (10/5): Like home - The reception Pinky is such a warm person. She would take care of all customers' needs. I just felt like being at home during the 3 nights. The room is comfortable. I like the boutique and vintage style of the hotel. Best experience in Laos! Location, but it is okay as the hotel provides free shuttle bus services
