- Coral (10/5): Comfortable & Convenient - We loved our stay here, it was very quiet and comfortable, sleeping on Futon beds was good. Perfect location, close to Shin Okubo station and places to shop and eat. Was able to store luggage prior to checking in. Nothing, it was great
- Nicola (7/5): - Large room, had the amenities that we needed, Ryokan style, good location. Some areas needed better cleaning e.g. toilet walls.
- carly (6/5): Fab location - I quite liked the quirkiness of sleeping on the floor and it was very close to the station to get around. I loved the area. The bathroom was a bit grotty and smelt a bit fusty.
- Şafak (5/5): - Konumu Tuvalet ve duş

- Carlo (6/5): - We stayed as a group of 9 and booked the Japanese-style Superior Room because we were expecting a larger space that could accommodate up to 12 futons. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were given a Japanese-style Family Room instead, which fit exactly 9 people and felt more limited than we had planned for.
We were told that room assignments are based on matching the exact number of guests, but this wasn’t clear to us during the booking process. We had specifically chosen the Superior Room for the extra space and flexibility, so this was a bit disappointing.
I’d recommend future guests double-check how room types are assigned, especially for larger groups, to make sure expectations align with the hotel’s policies.
- Neel (5/5): Not worth it - It has shoe lockers The staff was rude and the fact that there was black mold in the bathroom, you should stay away from this place

- Bacalso (3/5): was not comfortable at all but at least the TV was huge - toilet had a funny smell and shower was kit clean , drainage was awful sheeting in water not draining .. bathroom toilet in one it was super tiny i could not handle it nor could my kids futon and bed doesn’t look like it’s been changed

- Christine (8/5): Interesting and delightful Japanese experience. - Well, to be quite honest, I had no idea we were checking into a ryoken. It was really a lovely surprise and it gave my daughter the culture experience she was looking for on this trip. I was surprised at how comfortable the futons were. We flew down to Fukuoka and when we headed back to Tokyo, we checked to see if we could get back in, but it was full. Darn! The host was very "unsmiling." He helped us with our booking problem, but he didn't seem especially happy about it. Made me feel like an unwelcome American. :-(
- Thomas (9/5): Practical and Utilitarian, perfect Toyko hideaway - The location is ideal for accessing and experiencing Tokyo! The room is practical, utilitarian and is a perfect base point for any traveller on a budget. Overall, highly practical and that makes it perfect! Mattresses were thin by western standards, however more can be rented.
- DALE FAULKNER (8/5): Great spot in Tokyo. - Nice Japanese style room with futon. Great amenities (full kitchen with stove top etc.), location, and price. The futon was a bit thin, but maybe I'm a bit too boney...

- Patrick (8/5): -
- Regino (5/5): - Location
- frederic (8/5): ideal with Family - Very convenient location close to the shin-okubo station for a one night familly stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good experience to sleep on the floor. - This hotel is not new or with latest tech in the room but it has the traditional room feel. The location is very convenient
- Dorothy (5/5): Passable - Close to everything Dirty
- Heidi (3/5): More like a hostel than a hotel. - It’s location is very close to the Shin Okubo train station with easy access to major areas like Shinjuku and Shibuya. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The price is very economical for a family of 5. Front desk staff seems to be just doing the basic job of checking in. Not very friendly or patient in explaining how to use the key for the shoe locker.
When we checked in at around 5:30pm we got a 5th floor room, the room was burning hot. The hotel did not get the room ready to be at least a decent comfort level. The AC took a long time to cool off to a comfortable temperature.
The 5th floor Hallways were unbearably hot for the duration of the stay. Only the lobby on first floor was cool.
Looks like a staff came into the room to change towels but trash was not throw away after the first night.
Bathroom slipper has black dirt and brown gross residue on shower head rest.
The price is inexpensive compared to other hotels in the area but it should be called a hostel for the type of room and facilities, not a hotel.
- Raquel (7/5): Good -
- Michelle (8/5): - Ok
- Preston (6/5): Decent Stay - Good location, easy access to subway. Extremely cramped for 3 people, and too noisy. Curtains are too thin, so light enters the room comstantly
- andy (10/5): - It very clean and supplies like clean towels very single date and quiet place with the best security !
- Sutarto (10/5): - The location is nice and close to restaurants, convenience stores, train station and laundromat. The staff is helpful and quick response. The hotel is clean and neat. I like this hotel.
- Huynh-Dung (6/5): - We had asked prior to our check in about bag storage, which was confirmed. As we arrived, we noticed no one was at the front but there was a sign to check in with a form, which was not provided. Not knowing what to do, we followed a vacuuming noise to ask for assistance, but the staff member was just not pleasant to interact with. In total, we encountered two staff members during our time here, one was kind and the other... not so much.
There was a noticeable smell walking into the elevators and rooms. Bathroom was not clean and the tub would not drain, it would get clogged within 10 seconds of us turning on the faucet. The toilets also made such a loud and long noise (>1-2 minutes every time we flushed). We brought up the draining issue to the staff members, thought they had taken care of it, but after we came back from a long day, it was never resolved. The other two mornings, (9-10AM) we were about to start our day and went down to the front to ask for assistance again with the tub but there was no one so we gave up on asking them.
The hotel is fine if you do not intend to spend a lot of time here. But for someone who looks forward to a nice shower after walking a long day, I would look for a hotel that does not have plumbing issues. And are pleasant to speak to the whole time...
- Hazel (7/5): Good..!! - Location/access to train station and shops. Luggage storage Shower/toilet a bit cramped
- Chooi (6/5): Basic convenient short stay in a good location - Location is good; close to station and in a generally quiet area. After checkout luggage facility. There is a lift which is handy for luggage. Bathroom combined with toilet very small. Almost impossible to manoeuvre without hitting the wall. Futon beds and blankets are thin, not the most comfortable. No complimentary water, coffee/tea or toiletries (shaver, toothpaste etc) provided unlike other hotels I stayed in Tokyo.
- Sel (7/5): Good - The staff in the front desk is very nice and kind.
- Adam (3/5): Poor -
- Jennifer (1/5): Avoid this place - Very convenient location located near the Shin-Okubu station. It is located in a small street but our private taxi was not able to enter the hotel driveway to drive us to the airport, we had to walk out to the main road. We missed the previous reviews, but the room cleanliness did not meet our expectations. The bath tub flooded everytime we took a shower, the toilet was very loud everytime we flushed it (they are not bidet toilets but very outdated toilets) the blankets and pillows are stained. It was inconvenient having to take our shoes off to put them in the locker before we went to our room. Luggage storage is not secure, and it is very possible for items to be stolen. staff is not attentive. Our hotel in Osaka attempted to contact this hotel to prepare for luggage forwarding services and requires the next hotel (Hanabi) to confirm, however they never picked up the phone so we couldn't get luggage delivered here. Instead, Yamato luckily provided services to accept our luggage in Tokyo from Osaka, and it was a 9 minute walk away from the hotel. Staff are not attentive at the front, we had to wait 10 minutes for staff to come down to assist with check in.
- Saman (8/5): - It was very clean , staff was great and helpful. Washroom was very tiny and the wifi was awful didn’t work at all.
- Shirsendu (6/5): Pleasant - Proximity to station Too small for the price
- Fabio (10/5): - If you’re looking for a place just to sleep and be out the whole day then this is the perfect spot in shinjuku for an affordable price. Metro is super close and there are a lot of places to eat and shop around the area.
- Astrid (8/5): Perfect for a one night stay - Situated in a small street away from the noise of the main street, but still close to the train station
- Joe (9/5): Superb - location small bathroom
- Jun (6/5): - The hotel is ok, it is conveniently located near shops and train station. The facilities are not that good and I think the room is small for a group of 6 people, max per room I think is 3 persons. No english speaking hotel employees which is quite an issue if the guest has no knowledge of the local language.
- Tiffany (8/5): - Overall the property was a good stay. It was very convenient to the train station which made travel pretty easy. The only downside is the general location of the area wasn’t the greatest. There are a lot of shops and places to eat around the area but it does tend to be pretty busy.
- Azaman (9/5): Superb -
- Randy (8/5): - Very good
- Erin (8/5): Very good -
- Jam (8/5): Good location for those who want to explore Tokyo fully - The location of the hotel is great as it's near the station + it's near so much establishments that close later into the night. Shin-Okubo is just one train transfer from Nippori station if you took the Skyliner. They offer luggage storage (at an amazing price) which was amazing for us as we took a short trip to Hakone before returning to Tokyo.
The room that we booked was perfect for 4 adults, we were able to sleep comfortable in the futons. Nothing to take note of that's so negative. You do have to remove your shoes before entering the Hotel and keep them at lockers by the front desk. You do need to close and move your luggage before you sleep since you need to lay down your futon in the tatami area. They don't have the Japanese toilet system, which they do show in their photos.
I believe there are limited sockets in the room (enough to charge 1 device per person for 4 pax), so it's best to have your extension cord with you if you need to charge more gadgets.
- Charlene (10/5): - This was a great hotel that was very close to the train station!
- Cherdpong (10/5): Exceptional - The location is good near the subway The towel is a bit old, but clean
- Indarahardjo (7/5): Good -
- arlin (6/5): - Traditional Japanese style hotel clean but our taxi cannot reach the hotel address itself, driver said address on website different from actual place. Staff is good.
- Arifa (6/5): Pleasant -
- Juan Carlos (8/5): - Great location and value. The walls are very thin and you can hear people in the rooms adjacent. If you’re a light sleeper, it might not be a match
- Wan Sin (4/5): - Mattress mat are not clean, too small to fit 4 persons
- Shaila (2/5): - Horrible hotel in a shady area. No beds, water dripping in the bathroom, & lots of fungus on all the walls.
