- Caires (9/5): -
- Jason (8/5): Great value, nice stay overall. - Staff were very friendly and helpful!
Breakfast was solid, and everything was clean. My room was skiing the main road at ground level. That was fine except when loud vehicles went by. I'm a light sleeper, so more likely a less common issue.
- Xavier (10/5): -

- Sonia (8/5): -
- Ilze (10/5): - The quality of suites are more like a 4* hotel, a very nice large pool, plentiful breakfast and tasty coffee. The ladies in reception are very friendly, helpful and polite, and offered me to check out a few hours later. It was low season, so I got a really good deal.
Make sure to watch the sunrise from the beach ( 3 minutes walk from the garden gate), people from surrounding hotels also come out in the mornings and take a dip in the water. The garden and kids play area are a bit neglected, probably due to low season ( November), it did not bother me, but might be a problem for some people.
Nada
- Rita (8/5): -
- Ana Sofia (9/5): - Had everything. Short walk from the beach.
- Bernardine (7/5): -
- Ossama (8/5): -
- Mateusz (8/5): - A very spacious room that helps with relaxing. Big breakfast! Close to the beach and horse riding place Elevator didnt work. Its far from the centre and the ferry - requires transportation
- Nelson (8/5): -
- Cátia Marina (7/5): -
- Sousa (10/5): - Bom atendimento e quartos espaçosos, uma boa recepção e staf sempre disposta ajudar e encaminhar
- Diana (9/5): -
- Kārlis (10/5): -
- Mario (4/5): - Lady at breakfast treated us as children when we sat on a table that had 4 seats. We were a couple, and mind you, the restaurant was almost empty. There are other ways to communicate to guests, more polite ways, and there was no visible rule that stated couples could not occupy 4 seat tables.
Curiously, there was another couple sitting at a round table with 8 seats so I don't know why there are rules for some, but not for others.
Very disappointing way to end an otherwise positive experience.
- Alona (10/5): Exceptional - The room was amazing! Huge and clean. The stuff was so nice and helpful. The breakfast was also good, and I enjoyed my dinner also - beef steak was finger licking good!
Pretty big and very clean swimming pool and of course the beautiful, stunning sand beach 🤩
I enjoyed every day of my stay 🤌❤️
- Frederic (10/5): - a bit older than others, but friendly, close to the beach, large rooms with great breakfast included
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (9/5): A well-appointed hotel. - Good location near the beach and on coastal bus route , Bedroom and sitting room. Helpful staff. Dining room and bar meals. Kettle in room would have been useful.
- ABMoira (10/5): An excellent choice of hotel on this beautiful island - What a fantastic small hotel with everything you could want and more. Our Mountain View was really large and spacious , quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was terrific . The coffee especially was great and choices of juices etc . Lunch menu and food available was simple but fresh and tasty
- annette (10/5): - A fantastic small hotel with friendly efficient staff always on hand . Our room
Was very spacious and comfortable.
- David (7/5): Good -
- Maria (7/5): Good -
- Ivana (10/5): - Friendly staff, spacious room.
- rudolf (10/5): - Alles super,, Preis-Leistung Top
- Bryanharkett (9/5): Nice place to rest - The staff are lovely and the breakfast was not too bad. Everything was so clean, inside and out. Not a lot to pick for breakfast.
- Anke (10/5): - everythink was okay, the breakfast was good 👍thank you 😊
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Andrei (8/5): Very good - Location You can have a lunch in the restaurant only with advanced reservation
- Martin (8/5): Basic hotel but clean and in a great location with lovely staff - Large room with separate bedroom, aircon, large bed and plenty of storage. All kept very clean and hotel staff were great. Breakfast selection although fairly basic was fine for our needs. Lovely pool and perfect location to enjoy the beautiful beach. Depends what you are looking for? The hotel is fairly basic and a long walk from the main town, but perfect for our needs as in a good location to enjoy the lovely beach and plenty of nice restaurants within walking distance
- Ferdinando (5/5): Passable - Service, especially in the bar, no one to attend even after calling someone I had to wait 5 minutes
- Silvia (8/5): Very good - It is on a walking distance from the most amazing beach. We had a room with a view of the ocean and it was good. But if you spend more time in your room not only sleeping in it be sue that the view from the back of the hotel is not good and it's better to pay more. The room was spacious. The bathroom also. I would recommend it for sure and I will be back. Maybe the lack of variety on breakfast. If you spend more than 4 days as we did at the end you are sick of it.
- Bjoern (7/5): Good - We stayed at the Hotel for two nights due to flight conversion. It was a good option and we liked it. Great stuff.
- Vladimirs (10/5): Exceptional -
- Teresa (9/5): Superb -
- William (8/5): Very good -
- 635ingerd (10/5): Wonderful little hotel on a magic island - Wonderful little hotel with excellent staff and food. Only 5 minutes to the beach and a nice pool on site. I had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel and every meal was excellent. The hotel is close to a bus stop with services into the small city of the island. Hotel also recommended me an great taxi driver.
- Candide (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were amazing especially Felipe the bartender!
- Carmen (9/5): Superb -
- Jakub (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful breakfast, VERY spatious, good location for exploring west part of island. Great value for money. Kinda slow wifi, and coffee was not so great.
- Massimo (9/5): Superb - Great staff, very helpful.
Room clean, new furniture and comfortable
Good breakfast buffet 15 min. by taxy from the pier.
- Andreia (7/5): Good -
- Henning (7/5): Good -
- Michal (9/5): Great place to stay - Amazing breakfast, delicious eggs. Nice garden, great pool. The beach is not far and is absolutely stunning. You can take a shower in the yard when coming back from the beach. The room is spacious and comfy, there's also a quiet fridge. Slow wifi. Some staff's English was poor. The meals at the bar weren't so delicious, but at least they weren't expensive. The beach was about 6 mins walk, bit hard to find: when you leave the backyard, you need to go left and then towards the dune (nobody told us that).
In the night, the main road was a bit more busy than we expected, a lot of loud folks passing by.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Sara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Carlos (10/5): - Good and quiet. Far from the center of town but not an issue with a car plus taxis are inexpensive. The hotel is a bit old but satisfactory. Suite had ample space and balcony. Beach is within walking distance and it’s amazing. Breakfast is good. Staff is polite. Bikes available for guests. Road has a bike lane. Solid choice.
- Marunha (10/5): Fantastic experience, and worth every penny. - The welcome was incredible and the Receptionist Ana Drumond was amazing with us, going above and beyond wherever she could.
The rooms were incredibly spacious and the mountain views were lovely.
We had a very difficult time getting a taxi in the evening, but with the assistance of Magna, another Receptionist, everything was fixed quickly.
The pool area was amazing, sunny, spacious and clean. They had towels and parasols available.
The breakfast was delicious, varied, and fresh.
The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the beautiful golden sandy beach of Porto Santo.
Overall availability and kindness of the staff, especially Ana and Magna. The two single beds were joined with a single linen sheet. This could have been better dealt with.
We had a less pleasant experience during check-out when a different lady at reception (didn't take her name) asked us the pay the room bill, which we had already pre-paid. It took a while for her to give us our invoices as she was having a hard time charging the virtual cards but eventually it was ok.
The atitude and availability of a lady from the breakfast team was below standards but that did not represent the whole of the hotel so we didn't let it affect our overall experience and impression of the hotel.
It took a while for some items to be re-filled during breakfast, such as scrambled eggs, croissants and bacon.
I waited a while at the bar to buy three big water bottles, but nobody was there. After a while I decided to go to the Reception area where I found the Bar gentleman just standing there.
Little things that can be improved, but overall the stay was amazing and impressive.
- Marcin (10/5): absolutely the best hotel in Porto Santo - it was a stunning experience. this hotel is located by the most beautiful part of Porto Santo beach, where there are no rocks whatsoever. from the hotel, you can access one of the most beautiful places to see the sunset and the swimming pool is AMAZING. Rooms are very tidy, simple, but there is everything you need. and the most important thing. the staff! we were late for our plane and the taxi didn’t arrive so the receptionst took us to the airport in his private car!! can you imagine? it was his idea! 1000000 stars for the staff. i can’t explain how greateful we are! we will definitely be back!
- Russell_Heather2014 (8/5): Lovely wee hotel - Lovely wee hotel almost at the west end of the island. Easy access to the beach. Delightful staff. Lovely modern rooms.
We had breakfast & dinner as part of our booking - both were of a good standard- dinner was buffet style with a couple of local dishes. We also had lunch on two days and though the menu was limited they were none the less tasty.
Overall great value for money
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Bon accueil...
- alex3355 (6/5): Average hotel - The hotel is near the beach and the rooms are spatious, modern and clean. Unfortunately, with this the positive features end. The sleep quality is not good - about 200m from the hotel there is some disco or bar belonging to a nearby hotel with VERY loud music till midnight EACH DAY and sometimes longer. Plus there is some machine working and making noise from about 7 a.m. The breakfasts are average at best (no vegetables, one kind of cheese). Altogether average hotel, good for maybe for 2-3 nights stay.
A recommander
- 889nigelm (6/5): good hop stop on the Island - i was travelling to Funchal Madeira and could not land because of the winds and was diverted to Porto Santo. Late at night and pin in the map i found the Inatel. It was surprisingly good for the price ( around £50 per night including breakfast) spacious room with additional sitting room. Nothing spectacular but clean and comfortable and would recommend to budget travellers
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hübsches Hotel in Strandnähe - Kleines Hotel, große Zimmer. Das Personal war immer nett und hilfsbereit. Preis Leistung ist okay.
- CEPS2013 (10/5): 2nd year in a row and I will book for 2018 already - I travel for work 6 months of the year in Europe and US. I had the luck of staying in 4 and 5 stars hotels in the main business capitals. In Porto Santos I have stayed in Pestana Porto Santo (2x) Luamar (x2) and Vila Baleira (x1). After a friend recomendation, in 2016 I have tried Inatel Porto Santo. In January 2017 I was booking my staying here again just to be sure I got the place. First, the rooms: better than Luamar and Vila Baleira slightly worse than Pestana. The rooms are generous and they were refurbished recently so everything is new and things work properly (AC, mini fridge, tv (this can still be improved) wifi, etc). The common areas (dinning room and bar) not great but enough and ready for people with movement limitations. The pool is big and the kids playground offers several option protected by the shadow of trees. Second: you can choose the meal regime: just breakfast, breakfast and lunch and the 3 main meals of the day included. Drinks are always charged separately (except fro breakfast) and this is were the hotel is better and any other of the 3 above: home made food that puts you at your mother dinner table. The variety is limited, but every single option is just amazing. Forget the industrial type of all inclusive food... this is another thing: is regional (Portuguese) and fresh. The other big plus is the service and staff: they really take care of you, not only because it's their job but because they wasn't you to feel good, and if you are traveling with you kids this is a big point to take into consideration. Downsides: lack of activities (day and night) and they deserve a better parking space. Rather than that, one of my favorite hotels and a great hidden secret of Porto Santo.
- JanB619 (8/5): A short stay in a good hotel - While we were visiting Madeira in September 2016, we booked a ship from Funchal to the nearby island Porto Santos on September 15 and returned the next day late in the evening. We stayed in Inatel Porto Santo Hotel, a spacious, quite new, clean and rather inexpensive hotel at walking distance from the sea, but about 15' taxi drive from the harbor. We had a spacious bedroom, in fact a bedroom and a big room with a small kitchenette, TV set etc. Apart from the sea we also enjoyed the large swimming pool which was actually all for ourselves as there were not many visitors in the hotel. The lunch was in buffet form, varied with an overall very friendly service (as was the case at the reception!). The breakfast next morning was fine.
We spent some time at the "top attraction" of the island, i.e. the very large and popular sandy beach, something they don't have in Madeira.
We could check out in the late afternoon, in time to take the bus to the small town's center where we enjoyed a folkloristic celebration of the visit of Christopher Columbus, more than 500 years ago!
In such a short period there is not much to see or do on the island and we still wonder whether the visit had an added value for us who have seen so many beaches before. If you like to travel by ship between Madeira and Porto Santo it may be worth to do it and if one is lucky one might see whales or dolphins.
- CEPS2013 (10/5): One of the best - We have stayed in INATEL PS for 10 nights. We were 3 adults and 2 infants. We have stayed in Vila Baleira (4 stars) and Pestana Porto Santo (5stars) in the last 4 years and to be honest I did not missed then at all.
We opted for the lunch and dinner include despite the several negative comments about the food. It was a good choice: there were always 2 choices (meat and fish) and a buffet of salads and deserts (drinks were not included). The food was real home food which made irrelevant the enormous variety of other all inclusive hotels.
Therefore, although is true you have lesser choice the quality paid off.
For kids the hotel is brilliant since it has a big outside playground and the pool is also big with a section with lower deep.
The rooms are good with wifi, television, mini fridge and A/c (the hotel was recently refurbished).
The staff is very friendly and willing to help. We also used the laundry services which were inexpensive (great when you have kids).
Although it does not have a beach right outside the perimeter of the hotel, it will take you (carrying the kids, beach apparel, food and toys) 7 minutes walking. The advantage is that the beach is normally empty which is a great plus.
The only downside is the entertainment, which is not available, nevertheless the island is full of events that will keep you entertained and for those days where you just want to rest there will be no noise between you and your dreams.
I will for sure return next year! It is a secret well kept
- Lukasz (10/5): Honeymoon in Inatel - 26.04.2015 udaliśmy się do Porto Santo w podróż poślubną.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Stayed at this hotel in early April, weather on the island was good and at this time of the year there's barely any other guests so me and my girlfriend had pretty much the hotel to ourselves. It was very easy to get to the hotel (1hr walk, 10 min taxi), the staff was really friendly and helpful, lunch and dinner were moderately expensive and you won't find many vegetarian options but breakfast was free—pastries, cereal, good Portuguese bread and pastries, fruit, scrambled eggs, good coffee, tea, milk and more. The bedroom was really spacious, clean and really nice to come back to at the end of the day sunbathing at a beach 5 minutes away or from the hotel pool.
- Serizzle (10/5): Beautiful stay on a beautiful island! - Stayed here at the Inatel hotel for the past couple of nights. Room was just gorgeous, very modern, clean and comfortable. Lovely big shower! Air con was lovely and quiet! Room was cleaned every day. We stayed half board, nice selection of food, very yummy! Our room was on the 0 level, with a balcony overlooking the pool. Still very lovely to stand out on. A higher floor would probably provide views of the beach, but we didn't mind!
Only five minutes walk to the beach. Spent most of our time there as it's just beautiful! Hotel provides you with an umbrella which you can take to the beach, very ideal for this very hot time of year! Had a couple of dips in the hotel pool, which is kept nice and clean!
Very impressed by how well kept this hotel is, should be more than 3 stars! Free wifi in every room too, which is just so ideal to get in touch with relatives.
It was a very quiet, peaceful hotel. You didn't see many of the staff but when needed, they were very helpful. 2 minutes walk up the road was a bus stop to get to the centre, only €1.60 each! We did actually walk it the first day, took about 40-45 minutes which is not too bad when you get to see a lot of the island!
Recommend this hotel, quite happily stay here again!
Personale molto gentile
- i_feijao_f (10/5): A Pacific Island in the Atlantic - It´s a small hotel but perhaps that's why the hotel can provid a cosy staying.
The staff is amasing, always thinking in your needs. The suites are very confortable and everything is always very well cleaned. Imagine a beach hotek with children, it has to be cleaned.
It's a 3 star hotel witn rooms of some of the 4 stars I know. Very good value for money.
- J0hn_0h (8/5): Quiet out of season - Difficult review this as the hotel was VERY quiet (as was the whole island) in December.
Sometimes we two were the only guests, so the ambience was all ours !
However, this is an excellent hotel that appears newly refurbished.
Friendly and efficient reception provided two access cards with no problems.
Not always English speaking staff available but this didn't present any problems.
Our balcony had a pleasant access overlooking the garden and (enormous) swimming pool.
The swimming pool appeared to have disabled access (a ramp into the water).
Childrens play area, nice gardens.
Free WIFI throughout, we got WIFI in the room but this may not apply to all rooms.
Lift
Our room didn't have a bath but an impressive shower.
Lots of storage space, air-con. TV.
Breakfast - coffee, choice cereal, bread ham cheese, Yoghurts. Scrambled eggs & little sausages, suspect I could have had a bigger (hot) choice if I spoke Portuguese.
Walk through to beach, suspect a beach bar but not open when we were there.
New building 200 mtrs (?) away rumoured to be a convalescent home.
Overall excellent hotel
I am told Porto Santo goes mad in July and August so suspect this could be a totally different experience then, but we enjoyed our (very) quiet break.
- Mulo_Voyageur (8/5): Somewhat isolated hotel along one of the nicest beach on earth - Highlights :
- rooms have been renovated very recently, light and fresh colours and design : unexpected for a 3 star hotel!
- it is the last hotel of the strip (seems like there one is in construction next to it, though), so you are closer from the wildest part of the incredibly long and wonderful golden sandy beach.
- good wifi everwhere
The personal was very friendly, and willing to help. However, very little or no foreign languages spoken, depending on the employees. There is an okay restaurant (Joao) down the road. For better gastronomic experiences, you have to have a car or a bike.
