• CHRISTEL (8/5): Séjour très agréable dans un cadre désuet - La localisation est top! L’ameublement et la décoration sont vieillottes. La literie était très confortable, la chambre propre et de taille correcte. Toutefois la salle de bain est très petite et peu fonctionnelle. Le sèche cheveux n’a aucune puissance et la lumière est assez aléatoire. Les serviettes restent humides d’un jour à l’autre. Le personnel est très aimable et serviable.

Une ambiance cosy très agréable, un personnel accueillant et très professionnel. Une chambre confortable et pleine de charme. L'excellent petit déjeuner est servi sur un très joli patio. Nous recommandons chaudement cet hotel.

Den besonderen Bedürfnissen eines Rollstuhlfahrers wurde durch das sehr hilfreiche Personal Rechnung getragen, da baulich Hindernisse zu überwinden waren. Die Parksituation in Hotelnähe ist bedingt durch die Gegebenheiten in der Stadt sehr eingeschränkt. Trotzdem kommen wir gerne wieder.

• Verified traveler (4/5): Old spooky hotel near beach - Old hotel with poor minimal services and overpriced as near the beach. Room was tiny and everything is old dark and dusty from stairways to furniture. Bed was uncomfortable as old mattress of poor quality. Very dark room at night as lighting was inadequate. No air conditioning was big inconvenience as no air circulation when sun was hot in the afternoon and room heated up. Staff was courteous but unavailable at night reception. Safety is compromised as our cell phone was stolen from our room desk when we went out.

• Laura (10/5): Five Wonderful Days and Nights! - This was the first trip to Saint-Jean-du-Luz for my husband and me, but we hope not our last. We loved staying at Hotel La Marisa. The hotel manager was excellent. He was there to greet us when we arrived, answer our questions, and inquire about our adventures during our stay. When we had a problem getting a cab to go to the train station on the last day, he went "above and beyond" to help us. (It would have been an easy walk if we had traveled with less luggage!) All staff members we encountered at La Marissa were pleasant, helpful, and doing their jobs well. The exterior of the hotel is classic basque-style; the interior is modern and up-to-date, with interesting decorative objects including some antiques. Our bathroom appeared to have been recently renovated in a high quality manner following principles of universal design (i.e., just about anyone, with or without mobility problems, could use it). The location of this hotel is ideal. It is a very short walk to a central location on the beach, which is on a beautiful bay in the Atlantic Ocean. We could walk everywhere in charming Saint-Jean-du-Luz and we did. My husband and I were so pleased that we found La Marissa and that a room was available for us!
• Gayla (10/5): A true gem - I stayed here with my daughter in April 2017. This place is a gem! The location is amazing. On a little side street and not directly oceanfront but I still had a view of the ocean. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. The room was beautiful and the staff was amazing. Especially the gentleman working at the front. Silly me, I left my backpack on the train (yep, passports and all) and not only did he track it down, he went at 9pm (after his shift) to the town where they were holding it and brought it back to me that night! Talk about going out of your way! He was always smiling and just as friendly as can be. Loved this hotel. The town is just wonderful but if you have children, they are going to love the beach. There is a huge hill/dune they can roll down (I was not thrilled but my daughter was) and there was a huge inflatables area that was free (don't know if it is there all summer or not). Really great beach vacation for my daughter. The beach was very clean as well.

The courtyard where we could take our breakfast with the other clients was comfortable and intimate. We were very well welcomed by staff who were always enquiring about our well being. Meddhi knows the area and can give great advice for leisure or practical need if needed. My only concern was the size of our room that was too small for two people for a 5 day sojourn. Also the hotel is very close to the beach, the stores and downtown.
• Mark (10/5): Amazing place 20 yards from the beach - This is a gem of a hotel, nicely decorated, clean and with a cracking little courtyard. The location is amazing, 100 yards from the beach and you can hear the waves. Best thing about this hotel though is the staff - rarely have I found staff as nice or obliging. If you're going to St Jean de Luz, this is the hotel to book!

• Scott (10/5): Great location and value! - We visited Hotel La Marisa for three nights in September with friends and chose the hotel based on location and value. It definitely succeeded on both fronts! The location in St. Jean de Luz is perfect - close to the beach plus walking distance of all the main restaurants and shops in the town. Plus, since this one of the bigger towns in Pays Basque you can easily rent cars nearby, get the train, etc. While the rooms are on the smaller side (typical of many European hotels I've stayed in), they're equipped perfectly for most travelers with a comfy bed and a nice bathroom. The service was great from start to finish with a helpful check-in and a nice send-off. They were kind enough to fuel us with caffeine in the morning and have a great little library with books on the region if you're looking to explore! We would stay here again if we came back to the region!

This didn't bother me in any way and if I were going to check in later then they said they'd be there. I'd recommend La Marisa to anyone and would stay again.

• Cedric (8/5): In the heart of St Jean-de-Luz - Located close to the shops and restaurants and only 30 seconds from the beach, La Marisa is perfectly situated to make the most of this lovely Basque town. We chose a courtyard-facing room which ensured it was quiet, although the road outside is hardly a busy one as it is one-way. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and our 'Comfort' standard room was spacious enough.

• Robs (10/5): Great hotel, great location, great staff - Stayed for two nights for the second time in three years. Hotel has maintained the quality and the staff is as helpful, if not more, than our first stay. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. The bathroom was great but for the soap/shampoo dispenser that is very hard to operate. Breakfast was very good, only wish we had been able to sit outside, but alas, the weather did not cooperate.

The room was very comfortable, and the breakfast was more than just croissant and coffee - with a home-made cake etc. The location was perfect - close to the sea and also to shops and restaurants. All the restaurants recommended by reception were outstanding.
