• Christos (8/5): Εξαιρετική τοποθεσία - Φοβερή τοποθεσία. Το στρώμα στο κρεβάτι μαλακό (αλλά άνετο). Θα χρειαζόταν μια αναβάθμιση σε διπλό τζάμι στο παράθυρο του δρόμου και κάποιο ραφακι /κρεμάστρα στο μπάνιο. Κατά τα άλλα ήταν πολύ καλή η διαμονή καθώς και η επικοινωνία με την ιδιοκτήτρια / διαχειριστρια

• LIONEL (8/5): Bon rapport qualité prix - Bon accueil . Modeste , mais avec un grand lit et la clim, cet hébergement est très bien situé ds une des principales rues commerçantes.
• Ewa (10/5): Perfekt för oss första natten. - Detta var ett perfekt rum för oss 1 natt i Chania gamla stadsdel. Rummet var större än vi förväntat oss. Bra info via whats up iochmed att vi kom senare än sista incheckstid.
• Ludovic (8/5): Charme et détente - Nous sommes ravis d'avoir passé notre sejour dans cette chambre decorée avec goût, situee au 2eme etage. Un petit balcon charmant avec vue sur la rue et très proche du port. Nous aurions aimé y passer plus qu'une nuit. Un tout petit bémol sur le pommeau de doucje peu pratique mais à refaire avec plaisir. Explications très claires reçues sur les directions a prendre pour arriver a l'appartement. Merci 😃

• Lesley (10/5): Very happy with my stay at Smaragdi Rooms - I rented a room for the night on my journey back to the UK. The host is very helpful and friendly, and helped with my arrival times. The Smaragdi Rooms are in a great location in the old city, close to the port, the shopping centre, a great bakery almost opposite and a really good vegan restaurant at the bottom of the road. Lively during the day but quiet at nighttime. The room is basic but had everything I needed, comfy bed, shower, kettle, coffee filter.

• Lesley (10/5): Perfect location and friendly welcome - Very friendly welcome. My room was clean and tidy, simple and good value in a fantastic location in the old town. Close to the harbour, shops, restaurants - including a fantastic vegan restaurant at the bottom of the road. I’ve been offered flexibility in the check out (I guess still out of main season) so it’s been perfect for me as a solo traveller.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - The location is just the best, its right in the heart of the old port. The owner are very kind and welcoming. I had my concerns reading some reviews, what i have to say to everyone is that you get exactly what you see so i assume those who complain didn't even look what the booked. If you are looking to visit Chania this is the best place if you are looking for reasonable price and location.

• odile (8/5): Nice hotel in a very nice street close to eveythin - We just spend one night my daughter and I. The lady who treated us was very friendly and helpful. The bed was very good and the bathroom too all very clean. There was inside all what was advertised. Plenty of cafes and restaurants around in the old town of chania close to the harbour. We could visit everything on foot. I can recommend.
• Sven-Olof (10/5): Bra läge nära till allt trevliga ägare bra service - Bra läge nära till Nea Chora med sina strand och tavernor. Nära till busstorget och busstationen. Saluhallen och dess goda mat inom 5 minuters promenad. Bra tavernor på några minuters promenad. Chatzimichali Daliani gatan är värd ett besök. Falassarna och Elafonissi är fina stränder fast det är för många turister där.
• Kim (10/5): Good hotel in city centre - Before arrival, I emailed with the owner Georgia about a question. Without asking, we also gav us directions about how to get to th hotel. Very welcoming. When we arrived, Georgia gladly helped us with our heavy luggage, she's such a nice woman. Unfortunately the room we booked was available not that day, but the next. We got the right room the next day and it was very good. Large bed and all the facilities you need. There was even salt, coffee and tea in the room. Every room is decorated with a specific colour which adds a nice atmosphere. The location is perfect, just behind the beautiful harbour and close to the parking place on the left from the harbour, which comes in handy when you have a rental car. We stayed for 4 nights, just the right amount to explore the city and this hotel was a good choice to do this.

• Mario (4/5): Not what we signed for - Well this hotel was not available when we got there. The nice gentleman who welcomed us said it was under repaies. So he offered us a room in the hotel across the street called Talos. The hotel had only three rooms and was in a very very old building. The room was very humid and old. The bathroom was so old, it didnt even have a shower! If you carry luggage you will have to go up several ladder style stairs. The street we were on at least was nice!
• Claire (8/5): In the centre of the old town, clean convenient - Excellent location although can be noisy from bars on street. Old building with no sound proofing so could hear everything going on in the room above, plumbing also noisy but better if you leave the plug in the sink. We had room 1 which was great because there is a small back door leading onto a little backstreet where we put chairs outside, and easy if you have heavy luggage rather than carry it up narrow steep staircase at front. Good value. Didn't meet the owner but the girl that cleaned our room was friendly and gave us some good advice on the area.
• Stinkbi (4/5): Sehr skurril und laut und nicht sehr gepflegt. - Wir hatten laut Beschreibung bei Expedia ein Zimmer im 1.OG mit Balkon gebucht und eines im EG mit Hintertür auf die Gasse bekommen. Mit viel Gutwill - der Charme von Neapel.... Der Nachbar gegenüber war unerträglich, an ein gemütliches Glas Wein am Abend nicht zu denken. Die Sauberkeit ließ zu wünschen übrig, die Handtücher sahen teilweise, obwohl bestimmt frisch gewaschen, sehr unappetitlich aus. Die Vermieterin machte übrigens keinerlei Anstalten, und evtl. ein anderes Zimmer zu organisieren.
• Gillian (8/5): Convenient if a little "tired" - The room was in a really convenient place for wandering around the old streets of Chania, but it was pretty crowded with "stuff" and obviously in need of a bit of maintenance. Very airless and hot, but air-conditioning worked well. Large fridge - a bit pointless- with a broken freezer section. This kicked out a lot of heat which only added to the heat of the room. Bed was clean and comfortable. Owner was not around when we arrived, but a note had been left to just make ourselves at home and the man across the road rang to make sure which room was ours. Overall the room served it's purpose, was in a nice location and was one of the cheaper ones I had found on the website, so I guess you get what you pay for. However, it was lovely to be able to walk out into the streets of Chania and not have to fight our way out again by car in the maze of streets at night.
• Natalia (8/5): Little pleasant place in center of Chania - We are stayed in this hotel 2 times during our visit on Crete.The first i want to note hosts of the hotel, especially Georgia. They are very nice and helpful people, me and my friend really greateful tham for hospitality! Hotel located in central part of Chania in very beautiful place. All the main attractions and city beach are in stepping accessibility. The room in village was big and clean, air conditioning and wi-fi working great, beds are comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised about little kitchen with all the stuff like coffee, tee, salt and sugar. Usually it always needed to buy, so its a plus. The only what we didn't like was that our room located on the first floor and no any soundproofing,so it was a little problem for us because we are waking up quite late usually and we are heard every noice from the street. Anyway we are felt there like at home and i can reccomend this hotel for city and beach trip. I think i would stay there again if i come in Chania.
• Michel (8/5): Séjour très agréable dans la vieille ville - Très agréable dans la vieille ville beaucoup plus typique. Nombreux restaurants dans les ruelles intérieures bien plus intéressants à découvrir que sur le bord de mer.
• joe (4/5): Bon accueil - Dommage que la chambre donnait sur une rue habitée par des gens très bruyants. La chambre était trop chère par rapport à son peu de confort. Chambre petite, fuite d'eau du lavabo, fenêtre qui fermait mal...Chambre plus chère que l'hôtel à Réthymnon ou à Héraklion. Déçues par ce logement, trop vétuste.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Kleines nettes Zimmer - Schön gelegene Unterkunft mitten in der Altstadt Chanias. Wir waren ausserhalb der Saison dort, was unter Umständen den etwas lieblosen Zustand erklärt. Insgesamt nettes Zimmer, das mit etwas mehr Mühe sicherlich eine gute Unterkunft ist.

• Björn (6/5): Günsties Zimmer direkt in der Altstadt in Hafennäh - Das Zimmer war sauber und ordentlich. Leider hatte unser Zimmer keine richtigen Fenster, sondern Oberlichter und eine Tür, hinter der sich eine sehr kleine Gasse befand. Die Nachbarn waren leider sehr laut (bis in die frühen Morgenstunden). Die anderen Zimmer im Haus scheinen heller und freundlicher zu sein. Mein Tipp wäre beim Buchen darauf zu achten, dass die Zimmer nach vorne zur Straße (nur Fußgänger) liegen.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Simple hotel located in a charming cute area - Our visit to the area was pretty short, so we didn't make sure of the kitchen amenities, but the room was cute, though simple and located really close to the old harbor (walking distance of 5-7min). Staff was very nice and helpful with any problems we had. Def worth the money you pay for. I would come back.

We loved the location - right in the heart of Xania's old port. The owner, Georgia, was super friendly and very nice to us. The room was spacious and pleasant. The price was reasonable. I would stay at Smaragdi again next time I go to Xania.
• Fabio (8/5): Monolocale in ottima posizione nella old town - Struttura graziosa situata in un vicoletto nella parte più bella della città quella storica dove ci sono ristoranti,negozietti e market...a poca distanza sono disponibili parcheggi liberi appena fuori le mura..la camera non e' grande e il bagno risulta molto piccolo..il personale che la gestisce e' gentilissimo..una sistemazione semplice ma pratica!
• Μαριάννα και Δημήτρης (10/5): Καθαρά, άνετα, κεντρικά - εξαιρετικοι οικοδεσποτες η γεωργια και ο αντρας της, πολυ εξυπηρετικοι. τα δωματια καθαριζονταν καθημερινα, βρισκονταν σε κεντρικη τοποθεσια διπλα στο λιμανι και κοντα στα κτελ! τα δωματια επισης παρειχαν τα περισσοτερα αναγκαια για τη διαμονη.
• Rebecca (8/5): Cute, air-conditioned rooms in Venetian Harbor - These rooms for rent were cute, comfortable, clean and air-conditioned (not something guaranteed in Crete). This place is steps from multiple restaurants, shops, and convenience stores and more importantly, the old Venetian Harbor. We walked everywhere - even to the bus station in Chania. The only downside is the owners are not there all the time, though they give you their number if anything comes up and we were able to catch the wife during the day now and then when she would clean rooms. They are wonderfully nice people and the rooms are comfortable. It's not a luxury hotel, but they are nice budget rooms that suited our needs well for a four day visit in Crete.
