- Erica (8/5): - Great hotel close to the train station and local busses. We were in a suite and it was spacious with views of Amersfoort. 10 minute walk to Amersfoort city center. Bed was comfy, shower and jacuzzi very nice. Only downside was the room wasn’t the cleanest, a trapped on cookie on the carpet that obviously wasn’t vacuumed with crumbs everywhere. Hair dryer broken. A fluke I assume. But would stay again regardless.

- Michael (6/5): Below average - We got to the hotel early so left our bags until 3pm check in. Once we got to our room, the bathroom had not been cleaned or even touched. Called reception who said they would send cleaner. 5 min later we got call to come to reception and they would give us a new room. Got our luggage went down from floor 10 to find out the new room was 2 doors down on floor 10. Better communication would have been good. The new room was dusty and needed a deep clean. Only one pillow per side provided (other room 2 pillows). One elevator only working so long waits. The elevator looked likes it had not been cleaned for a long time.

- Craig (10/5): - A nice hotel and close to everything. The hotel has bike rentals, which was very convenient. Staff overall is very friendly. Only had 1 elevator working the entire 5 days so at times it was a long wait. Breakfast is not worth €20. Checking out took way longer than it should have. I think the desk clerk was sleeping so had to wait 10 minutes, then they couldn’t figure out my card on the system to charge. Besides that it was a great time and nice hotel to stay.
- Gerald (8/5): - The toilet seat was broken when we arrived stayed 6 nights but no one ever came to fix it. Kinda sad that for a nice hotel they have no maintenance staff. No compensation was offered for us having to deal with this issue. It’s like they didn’t care.

- Kenneth (8/5): Great Hotel let down by penny pinching policy - Everything “physical” about this hotel was excellent - the staff, the rooms, the food and the condition. However, the policy of providing rooms, earlier than the stated check in time, for a separate charge per hour left a sour taste for me. I chose not to accept this rip-off deal. I am disappointed that Mercure have chosen to go down this ‘Ryanair-style” exploitation. A consequence, for me, was I deliberately chose not to spend any additional money in the hotel. I also noted that I was not offered any reductions off my bill for checking out 1 hour before the latest check out time. It is a shame that such a tacky policy reflects badly on such a nice hotel and great staff.

The front desk ladies were not very friendly, tried to charge me twice for both the booking and country tax, and provided incorrect information on multiple questions throughout the stay. There was one gentleman who was very helpful who worked the front desk in the very early mornings that was great. Definitely try to talk to him if you have anything odd happen with your booking.

- Brian (10/5): - The Mercure is well situated (10 min walk) from restaurants, pubs, and sights in the old town. The breakfast offering is excellent with plenty of choice - well worth the money for a leisurely start to the day. Hotel guests get reduced rate parking in the public car park under the hotel - it is clean, spacious, secure, well lit, and has direct access into the hotel.
- Susan (6/5): - Bathroom and lighting were marginal. Bathroom: Slippery floor in shower. Shelf plus wide sink along the whole mirror made it impossible to get close enough to apply makeup. Lighting was dim. We only had one bath towel for the two of us. Lighting in room was a challenge. Either all the ceiling lights were on or none of them. Window in room was small so natural light was minimal. Breakfast was minimal. Overall disappointed in the value for the price.
- Jonathan (2/5): Nice comfy Hotel - But reservation system sucks - Booked a business trip for 2 nights at the Mercure via Hotels.com and received the nice green check "Your booking is guaranteed and all paid for." e-mail. Yet when I checked in I was told by the reception it was only booked for 1 night. I contacted Hotels.com and they said that apparently there was a problem with the hotel's system and they were not able to book the 2nd night. I was asked to leave the hotel following the first night - (quite an inconvenience as I required to leave the hotel at 8am to be at the client's office) - with no indication of where will I be staying. Not acceptable at all. So turns out the booking was not actually guaranteed as the Mercure was overbooked. This has caused a bit of inconvenience not only due to having to checkout but also requiring taking time and credit to chase the matter by phone. Hotels.com did provide an alternative for the 2nd night in the morning, although not as close to where I would've preferred. Sometimes I ask myself is it worth booking with an agent like Hotels.com? If something goes wrong, as in this case, you need to deal with both the middle-man and the hotel itself.
- Hans (10/5): - On the whole a good, clean, friendly, well-located hotel. Will stay there again and will recommend. Only slight negatives are the price of parking in the underground car parking spaces not being included in the overall price, and the odd location of the breakfast area within the hotel. It has no daylight and this has been masked by injecting some sort of "nightclub" feel into it. I would prefer to see some daylight instead!

- STUART (10/5): Short trip to Amersfoort. - We used the hotel as a base to visit Amersfoort. The location was convenient, not far to walk to the town centre or the train station. People on reception were friendly and helpful and the room was fine. We did not use any of the hotel's other facilities. Overall, the hotel met our requirements very well.
- Kris (10/5): Perfect for both business and pleasure - We had a 1 night stay at this hotel. The room was very tidy, bathroom clean, all facilities as advertised. We also had dinner and breakfast. To my personal opinion the breakfast is somewhat overpriced for what you get. The town center is only a 10-minute walk, so next time I would go into town to get breakfast... Other than that we had a great stay.

- Graham (4/5): Don't pay for breakfast - Breakfast would have been overpriced at the 14eur on the website but we were actually charged 15.5eur despite complaining about the web price. You can get free coffee from the machine in reception and the supermarket directly behind the hotel sell excellent pastries for less than a euro each. Hotel interior has a dark brown theme - very depressing! Will not go back.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel near Amersfoort Centrum - Mercure provides comfortable accommodations, and has very friendly and help staff. We very much enjoyed our stay. Only disappointment was the food served in the restaurant / lounge - one dish resembled a frozen microwave dinner and the other was burnt to a crisp and could not be eaten.

- Leroy (8/5): Amersfoort Mercure delight - Loved this hotel. Great location and about 10min walk to all bars and restaurants. Room was very spacious with lovely bathroom and large flat screen TV. Breakfast was just about worth 15 euros and set me up nicely for the day. Staff very helpful. Would definitely stay again when in Amersfoort.

The hotel room has a good window view. Clean, cosy & peaceful. We love the stay at Mercure Amersfoot, if I were to visit Amersfoot again, I will definitely pick to stay at Mercure. High recommended for all visitors to stay in this hotel. Value for money, truly a wonderful 4 star hotel with 5 star hospitality service

- Jim (8/5): On the whole very good, only one small gripe - Clean, decent wifi, good shower, socket by the bed - all the things I generally ask for in a hotel. Clearly a fairly new hotel so no problems with things breaking yet. Noise from the corridor was a bit of an issue. My room was right at the end of the corridor furthest from the lift so should have been quiet, but voices were very clearly heard through the door. Also, the room doors themselves did not close quietly. I am always considerate to others and try to close my door gently, but these doors just don't close quietly! Breakfast not cheap as expected, also not as much choice as other Mercure hotels I've stayed in.
- Alistair (10/5): Excellent hotel - easy walk to the station - I have now stayed at this very modern hotel twice when on business trips to the Netherlands. Very good rooms, kept spotlessly clean. Spacious bathroom with excellent shower. The staff are exceptionally helpful. Good breakfast. Several restaurants within walking distance.

- Andre (8/5): Mainly good stay. - Everything about this hotel was excellent! The only negatives were: - beds were not made up properly. No matrass protector and the sheets only covered and were properly folded under half of the matrass. - with the "make up my room" sign on the door for over 4 hours, the room was not cleaned. Half an hour later, a bag with towels, coffee, toilet paper was placed on my door nob. Not professional and in my opinion, rude! - in my opinion for a 4* hotel, the coffee, creamer, tea and sugar were of a low quality.

- Maria (8/5): Close to cinema & only a 10 min walk from centre. - Basic but comfortably clean rooms with good lighting in room. Room has a safe , mini fridge ( handy to keep my yoghurt in ) and coffee/tea making facilities. There is free coffee / cappucino in the lobby. Hotel has many glass door openings which do not have any stickers/marks on them and can easily be mistaken for an open door, do beware that you don't walk into them. Soap dish spencer in bathroom is in far corner. Ok if you have long arms. There is a shopping centre opposite with a variety of eating places and a cinema. There is a 'all you can eat and drink' (alcoholic drinks excluded) restaurant in the same building as the hotel. The station and town centre are only a 10min walk away.

- Rich Clark (10/5): Clean, modern and comfortable. - The hotel was located not far from the railway station and above a shopping precinct with a supermarket. The room was surprisingly comfortable, well appointed and situated on a high floor with a bit of a view. Although close to a busy road the traffic noise was minimal. We only really needed somewhere to put our heads down for the night and the Mercure certainly exceeded our expectations. I'd definitely stay again.

- Maria (10/5): Convenient, modern hotel. - We enjoyed our stay. It is conveniently situated. A word of warning though. The large glass panels by the revolving door and in the halls by the stairways are completely clear. It is sometimes difficult to see that it is a glass panel. I thought it was an open door and walked smack into it. The hotel is aware of the situation ( I was nog the first). So hopefully they will do something about it.

- carole (10/5): Nice hotel close to town centre - Very comfortable and looks like a new hotel. After looking at the catering arrangements for dinner they seemed to charge by the hour for eating at an all inclusive price which looked a bit complicated and to be honest off putting. We just wanted a simple dinner. We ate at burger king next door! Very good room facilities and modern tv/USB charging points. Tea and coffee very welcome. Bathroom floor fab - you can choose underfloor heating! Bathroom very modern with walk in shower. Excellent facilities.
