Die Zimmer sind wunderschön eingerichtet und im zugehörigen Restaurant kann man wunderschön am Fluss frühstücken oder sehr gute thailändische Küche genießen. Die Lage ist perfekt, in der Umgebung gibt es kleine Läden und Cafés, und auch das Zentrum ist fussläufig erreichbar. Der Service war auch super. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

• Pieter (9/5): Perfect verblijf in Chiang Mai in (Lanna) stijl. - Zeer typisch boutique hotel in Lanna stijl, zeer goede locatie aan de rivier, op wandelafstand van het oude centrum en uitgaansbuurt. Top restaurant bij het hotel (beter dan sommige top tripadvisor gequoteerde resto’s in het centrum). Goede spa faciliteiten en handige parking met bewaking. Weinig, als ik enkele minpuntjes kan benoemen: - kamer aan de straatkant is vrij luidruchtig, maar ‘s nachts valt het mee. - zoals ik reeds in de reviews las: ondanks zeer mooi rooftop zwembad, wordt dit onderbenut. Het zwembad was wel open, maar nodigt niet echt uit om er te zwemmen owv beetje verlaten indruk vh bar & zitgedeelte. Beneden aan de rivier is er ook wel een ca 12 meter bad dat eerder smal is, maar dit nodigt ook niet echt uit want ligt zeer dicht bij het eerder upscale restaurant. Misschien daar een buffer tussen voorzien. Voor mij was dit geen noemenswaardig punt. Voor 15 kamers is de keuze voor 2 zwembaden nogal overdreven. Het rooftopzwembad zou best als de achtergrond van een exclusieve bar kunnen fungeren & het zwembad beneden iets meer betrekken in het spagedeelte met afschermen van het resto. Het hotel is naar mijn aanvoelen ondergewaardeerd, mits enkele kleine ingrepen zou het ook voor een 5 sterren kunnen doorgaan.

Das Frühstück ist okay, aber man kann nur aus 4 A la carte Optionen wählen und die sind schon recht spezifisch in der Zusammenstellung - ist nicht so einfach wenn man etwas picky ist. Bei der Preisklasse der Hotels wäre ein kleines aber gutes Buffet besser. Als wir ankamen war unser Zimmer eiskalt und nachgerade nass. Wir hatten die ganze Nacht den Lufteinfeuchter laufen, der zwischendurch komplett voll war - am nächsten Morgen war das Zimmer dann angenehm trocken - blöd ist es halt ins klamme Bett zu steigen. Aber immerhin gab es einen gut funktionierenden Luftentfeuchter.

• Garon (7/5): Beautiful hotel - Beautifully styled, comfortable and large, beds were very comfortable. We stayed 4 nights in the old town so this was a welcome escape to a beautiful setting next to the river. Some of pool area furniture wasn’t uncovered due to a lack of guests, but made the area feel a bit unwelcome. We broke a vase in the room, we were happy to pay for the item but were quite shocked given how expensive it turned out to be, the staff were receptive at our shock and at least reduced the cost by 700 THB, unfortunate incident and not the hotels fault, but hopefully they rethink were they locate expensive fragile ornaments.

We had the worst luck with the receptionist. She couldn't provide us with any information. I also asked her about a few of my concerns, such as noises, spa bookings, and cocktail delivery to the room ( this can only be ordered from 6pm on, btw ) And this was the scary part. After dinner, we returned to the room, and our balcony door was open. We made sure we locked it before we left. We found random fruits on the table and the sofa (we didn't have fruits in the room). It was around 11 p.m., so we, being two girls, got scared. I called the reception to come up to check, and she said she had no idea what it was. The morning I came down to check out, the receptionist said she had already spoken to the housekeeper, and they told her that they had closed the balcony. I told her it was open, so we called right away. And I did ask what would happen if our stuff went missing? She said No idea because the housekeeping said they closed it. 😅 She also mentioned that she had already told her manager about everything, and this is the solution they came up with, which is no solution. We are also Thai residents, and this is very unusual services.

• Léa (10/5): Hôtel de luxe dans un écrin de verdure et de calme - Nous avons passé un séjour extraordinaire à l’hôtel Sala Lanna de Chiang Mai. Si seulement nous pouvions y revenir plus souvent (mais cela fait un peu loin depuis Paris !). Le personnel était souriant, attentionné, prévenant avec notre enfant. La suite était magnifique, la décoration luxueuse et élégante, j’ai apprécié la vaisselle et objets en céramique issus de l’artisanat local. Nous n’avons jamais aussi bien dormi. Le lit pour bébé était de très bonne qualité également et douillet. Nous avons amplement profité de la piscine du rooftop de l’hôtel et des canapés confortables, serviettes moelleuses, musique lounge et délicieux cocktails dignes des meilleurs bar de Paris. La vue est imprenable sur la montagne, la rivière et les couchés de soleil. L’espace proche de la rivière (restaurant et piscine) est d’un charmant ! Vraiment un petit coin de paradis, nous n’avions plus envie de partir ! L’hôtel est aussi très bien situé car, bien qu’à l’extérieur de la ville, entouré par de super resto et boutiques pas touristiques. Encore merci à toute l’équipe de l’hôtel pour sa gentillesse et son amabilité !

• macadvisor852 (8/5): Sala Lanna - I stayed here only for one night and wished it were longer. The room I had was basic but the bed was very comfortable and clean. The thai food at the restaurant was exceptionally good. When I mean good it is excellent. Well staffed and attentive too. At night the area is very quaint to dine and has a lovely ambiance. Also the rooftop bar is sadly underrated. With the sunset views of the mountain and overlooking the river I was surprised it didn’t attract more visitors. The fact it has a pool up there too makes it better. I will certainly be back again.

I had a mojito which had more ice than anything. I couldn’t tell there was any alcohol. The appetizers were good yet small portions. The server was ok. We got there before sunset and got to see the moon rise. Go for the view but not much else.

Breakfast is the best we have ever had! Two swimming pools with one on the rooftop bar area. Just to note that the hotel is an easy 15/20 minute walk from the center.

Convenient location near temples, old town, cafe. What to consider: 1.Like others, the room condition felt a bit outdated. The bedding is pretty good, by the way. 2. With 4 stars, staffs should be more productive. Everything is completed but I need to always ask for the service. 3. Spa could benefit from some upgrades to elevate the premium experience. Swimming pool - yes Spa - yes but limited room Rooftop bar -yes Free parking - yes.
• dougs007 (10/5): By the Ping River - We stayed in two different hotels in Chiang Mai. Sala Lanna being right in front of the river gives a very cozy ambiance should be a part of the CM experience. My favourites are the terrace and the restaurants. My friends love the thai dinner at the red though breakfast has nothing to write home about. A number of great restaurants and unique shops in the neighborhood. Just a few steps from the footbridge crossing the river.

The staff are absolutely amazing the room is absolutely fabulous. The smell when you go in was so nice. Bags taken right up to your room on arrival. Towels changed everyday! We didn’t realise until day 2 you can get pool towels on the top floor. Everywhere was very clean. Staff always on hand to help. Location was really good also! 10 min walk from local markets! Nothing

We had an exceptional stay at Sala Lanna hotel for my wife’s birthday as it is a very nice Boutique Hotel were everything is almost perfect with a lot of attention and love for the details. Our room was amazing, complete with a big balcony that added to the luxurious feel. Amazing view and the peaceful and quiet atmosphere make that feature of the room the place to spend your time. Moreover, the food at the Wan-la-moon restaurant was more than good—it was outstanding. I don't think you will find a better Kao Soi anywhere else. Also they serve a delicious and mouthwatering a la carte breakfast here. The location of Sala Lana is simply perfect, providing easy access to both night and day markets or just to explore the city. The staff at this hotel are doing an awesome job providing the most attentive care for their guest, and as usual in Thailand always with a smile of course. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is seeking for a quiet and luxurious retreat in the middle of Chiang Mai city. Thank you Sala Lana for an exceptional experience we will be back.

Perfect lighting for photos at sunset. The staff was also excellent. When I candelled my breakfast after waiting an hour for it (it was provided by the adjacent restaurant), the hotel refunded me. That is a sign of good service. The balcony was also very big but I wish they had a parasol or a fan to protect the guests from the sun. Unfortunately we couldn't really enjoy it because of the heat. Too bad.

The check-in experience lacked warmth and hospitality, with minimal acknowledgment from the staff and a noticeable absence of friendly greetings. Throughout my stay, there was a consistent lack of warmth and greetings, which felt odd, especially given that hospitality has been a standout feature at every other place I've stayed in Thailand. I also didn't like that check-out was prolonged, causing a delay in my scheduled departure. Improvements in customer service and efficiency would enhance the overall guest experience. Comparatively, I had a far better stay at nearby Airbnb in this exact area, where I spent a week for a fraction of the cost of just one night at Sala Lanna. Improvements in service quality are needed to justify the expense. I would recommend a friend to spend their money elsewhere.
