- Larkin (9/5): Perfect stay in a beautiful family-run inn - We loved our spacious traditional-style room. It was perfect for our group of three. The futon beds were extremely comfortable. The hosts were exceptionally lovely and helpful, assisting us with storing our luggage before and after our check out. It is a small family-run inn, with a very warm, welcoming vibe. There is shared shower and toilet, which is always very clean. The location was fantastic, a short walk to Ueno Park and many delicious restaurants, and museums. It is a great place to stay to explore Tokyo, with access to beautiful green trees in the park, as well all the exciting busy attractions of Tokyo. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Tokyo.

- Wojciech (9/5): - Bardzo dobra lokalizacja, z jednej najbliższa okolica była bardzo cicha, bez tłumów turystów, z drugiej do słynnego parku Ueno było naprawdę niedaleko. Wystrój bardzo klimatyczny, o takich ryokanach właśnie myśleliśmy, planując wyjazd do Japonii. Bardzo dobrym rozwiązaniem były dodatkowe ogólnodostępne toaleta i (osobno) prysznic, w świetny sposób ułatwiające rozładowanie wieczornej kolejki. Doceniam pomysł oferowania kimon do spania. Rozmiar pokoju bardzo typowy dla Japonii, cztery futony zajmowały ok. 3/4 powierzchni podłogi. Tylko jedno nie za duże okno. Wchodzenie z dużą walizką po stromych schodach jest pewnym wyzwaniem.

It was in a quiet area and close to Ueno station(15 min walk) and Nezu station(7min) The owners were welcoming, helpful and cleaned the bedroom regularly. - Johanna (8/5): Eigentlich voll empfehlenswert aber durch den merkwürdigen Umgang mit unserer Privatsphäre mit Einschränkungen. - Ausgezeichnete Lage, nettes Viertel, sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Gastgeber. Eigentlich alles gut. Wir hatten für zwei Nächte das Zimmer mit Bad gebucht. Man sollte wissen, dass das Bad nachträglich eingebaut ist und das Raumgefühl des Tatamiraums etwas beeinträchtigt. Würde ich das nächste Mal anders machen. Etwas schräg war, dass wir eines Vormittags nochmal zufällig zurückkamen und unsere Zimmertür sperrangelweit aufstand und jeder den Raum betreten konnte oder zumindest unser ganzes Reiseequipment begutachten. Die Reinigungskraft war in einem anderen Raum zugange. Diese Vorhehensweise sollten Sie dringend ändern!

- Joel Obando (9/5): A peaceful oasis in Tokyo - This is the perfect place for people that need peace when you visit Tokyo. Rooms are huge compare to the rest of hotels you can get in Japan in general. Toilet a bit small but you can make it. Great water pressure. The location is pretty good, near Ueno station about 1km and another important Line ( Nezu i think) but imporant that if you bring big luggage, you will need to walk some narrow areas. Very close to Ueno park. The host are very kind and sweet I guess, I would put more electric outlets near the bed.

Coin laundry and dryer available. Helpful staff with room cleaning service available. Small family-owned convenience store nearby. Room wasn't the cleanest, had a few missed scraps. Ground floor room is right next to stairs and can get noisy in the mornings/evenings, with noisy cars occasionally speeding past adjacent main road outside. Bath was ice cold in midwinter and hot water takes minutes to get running. Quite far from central Ueno station (20 mins walk) and convenience store chains.

The accommodation was super clean, the staff were so welcoming and it was nice and quiet with everything we needed. We loved trying the traditional futon style beds, and although they were a little hard for our liking, we are so glad we tried them. Thank you for giving tourists the opportunity to try traditional Japanese options 😀

However the rooms REALLY need to be dusted and deep cleaned a little bit more than they have been. The hotel will be much more pleasant if it just had a bit more care put into the general cleaning of the room. However the beds were good, we had quite a lot of room and it was really easy to get to all the places we wanted to from the location. It really needs more cleaning, the rooms are very dusty and just a bit more care would increase how nice the stay was a lot.

- Kay (8/5): Cozy, simple, homey inn - Was a little bit nervous about the futon on the floor but it was surprisingly very comfortable. Heaters in room were also very comfortable during winter. Lastly I was also nervous about sharing a communal bathroom as I have medical concerns that cause me to use the bathroom frequently but there was actually never any issue with this in regards to having to wait for the bathroom or holding up a line or anything. Overall it does feel rather "quaint" which has certain kinds of drawbacks yet also makes it feel very cozy and "home"like which I enjoyed. In winter, takes quite some time for the sink and shower water to get hot - I know this isn't really anyone's fault, but it did make stuff like washing hands, washing face, showering etc. somewhat difficult. Also, the stairs are very steep and somewhat dangerous if you have any mobility issues, I would not recommend this inn if you have any difficulty at all using stairs.
- Denisse (10/5): Perfect, very Japanese, very cozy, excellent price and location - It's located in a very quiet neighborhood about a 15 minute walk away from Ueno Park and Ueno Station (one of the options when you take the Skyline from the airport), which made it very nice for morning walks. It's also located just 5 minutes away from Nezu Station if you don't want to walk all the way to Ueno Station. The rooms were very traditional with tatami flooring and incredibly fluffy futon beds. If it rains, they have umbrella's to lend. Since you have to take your shoes off at the door, they also offer deodorant so you don't have to worry about stinking up the place. There's also a convenience store right in front that you can even use to ship your luggage to your next destination (this service is cash only, though). No big complaints, other than the stairs to the second floor being quite steep, so if you're traveling with big, heavy luggage it can be a bit of a struggle to get it up there.

- Cedar (10/5): I loved it, very comfortable and clean hotel with great restaurants nearby. - Really great, quiet location. Staff was very accommodating and kind, the room was clean and comfortable. I loved it, I wish I stayed for more than one night. The toilet didn’t have a bidet, which surprised me after getting so used to them.

- Iuliia (8/5): - Хорошее расположение, рядом парк Уэно, метро. Тихий район. Общие туалет и душ очень чистые. Ежедневно меняли полотенца и юкаты. Хозяин очень доброжелательный и всегда доступен, помог с отправкой сумок в Киото.

- Antonina (10/5): - Традиционный рёкан, большое пространство, тепло и есть кондиционер, горячая вода хорошо работает, очень уютно. Располагается не в самом шумном центре, но все еще в хорошем районе рядом с парком и зоопарком, в который мы сходили :) Чуть далековато от центральный улиц, но это может и к лучшему! Сам район замечательный :)

- Adrián (9/5): Bueno bonito y barato. - Es un alojamiento muy honesto, es una zona tranquila 上野の上。El personal es majísimo. Un poco alejado de la estación de Ueno. Pero merece la pena el paseo.
