Guest Reviews
- Kws64 (10/5): - Very friendly host and great service

- Brett (8/5): We always stay at Hotel Manaslu when visiting Kathmandu. - The staff are excellent, and the facilities are quite good, especially the pool. The Newari-themed architecture of the hotel is lovely. The safe-deposit box is a very useful service. Breakfast was good, but quite repetitive from day to day.
- Brett (9/5): We always stay at Hotel Manaslu because of its Nepali charm and excellent staff. - The Newari architecture and the building itself are very charming. The atmosphere of the hotel is quite nice. The staff are very congenial and helpful.

- Oliver (6/5): Good and as expected. Could have been better. - Nice people, decent breakfast. Decor was a little dated.

- Nagayo (10/5): More than Perfect!! - I stayed there for two days for filming. After explaining my situation in advance, the owner kindly gave me permission to film, and I was able to take some wonderful footage. The interior was beautiful with traditional Nepalese architecture, the rooms were spacious and clean, and the food in the restaurant was delicious.
- Szymański (10/5): Znakomity hotel i świetna obsługa! -
- Simoin (8/5): -
- Carlos (4/5): - The place and the kindness of the personnel the maintenance
- Katrien (8/5): - Lovely pool. Decorated with taste. Traditional architecture. Close to Thamel. Noisy people in the swimming pool during the night.
- Zuzana (10/5): Manaslu is great choice - Hotel has great location, very nice courtyard with pool, helpful and supportive staff. For breakfast you can choose local or continental option.
- Anca (10/5): Great rest. Staff is doing everything to help - Quiet enclave around the very busy center minor inconveniences were solved immediately
- Yulianto (8/5): -
- Uma (10/5): - The Nepali traditional ambiance and the exceptional service-oriented staff at every level!
- paul (10/5): Excellent stay! - Always happy to come back to the Manaslu, beautiful Newari style hotel, beautiful gardens, great staff, excellent breakfast. Nothing
- Ye (10/5): Exceptional -
- Muons (9/5): Quiet boutique hotel with traditional architectural features - The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Built in 1972 with traditional Nepalese wooden features, this charming hotel is at the end of a crooked alley. It is within walking distance to Thamel and Durbar Square, but far enough away to be quiet. There is only the one road to get to the hotel; don't trust GPS directions that suggest coming in from the back. We learned this the hard way on foot, and later had to convince a taxi driver not to follow his phone directions. The windows of our second-story room were covered with traditional-style shutters, limiting light and making it difficult to see outside. There is no elevator.
- Manish (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (8/5): Beautiful building in quiet area - Very friendly and helpful stuff Uncomfortable beds
- Gilpin (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely Hotel. The staff are exceptional.
- Madeleine (9/5): A relaxing , heritage hotel with pool and garden in a good area of Katmandu - We loved the heritage of the hotel, garden and swimming pool area perfect for relaxing, the room was lovely with crisp white sheets. The only small negative was the shower was small and a little tired and no nice toiletries to use but we had our own so didn’t detract from the stay
- Julie (9/5): Lovely heritage hotel in Kathmandu with excellent facilities and staff. - Lovely room with a balcony which we enjoyed sitting out on.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Naomi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (7/5): Good - Comfortable room, friendly and attentive staff Needs some renovation, not so "luxury" as branded
- Sabey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Miriam (9/5): Superb -
- Ameya (6/5): Beautiful property with welcoming staff and some small issues to iron out - Breakfast was wonderful! All the staff are really helpful and attentive. The common areas to sit outside are really lovely and comfortable and the WiFi was excellent. The building itself is beautiful, as are the grounds. The bed was comfortable and the onsite pool was lovely! There are no lifts on the properly and the stairs are quite steep, which is useful information to know before one books. They sent a dirty random car to pick me up from the airport, for an expensive airport pickup. However, when I raised this issue they apologised and have me a discount and the car they sent for the airport drop was very good. The room itself was okay, since it's a heritage building and they had to preserve the facade, I couldn't open the windows and let any air in. There was no fan so it was AC or nothing. The chain on the door was very weak: I found out because I had asked the staff to bring me a chair and he just shoved the door open not realising it was on, and it broke off. That made me a little nervous from a security perspective.
- Sabey (9/5): Superb -
- Georgia (8/5): - Atmospheric heritage hotel with a lovely garden and swimming pool tucked away in a quite corner just a stone's thrown from dining and shopping options in Lazimpat and environs. Great value.
- Miriam (9/5): Superb -
- Shah (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (10/5): Always excellent! - The beautiful property!! We have stayed there many times and we always return. Rooms are usually large and well decorated. Beds are comfortable. Staff is genuinely nice and professional. Beautiful gardens and pool. Clean and safe. Breakfast is excellent. We had dinner in the gardens with our trekking team the last night, the waiter was just class, very sensitive! Like everything
- James (9/5): Beautiful and prime location - It is simply beautiful - such a wonderful place. Staff were exceptional Maybe better showers and a few bugs in our room
- Christopher (8/5): Good Location & Friendly Staff - Very friendly staff who try to help with all your asks. Hotel is in a quiet road but close enough to walk to the Thamel area. A number of restaurants and shops nearby. Nice garden area to relax in with swimming pool (although a little cold as in the shade all day...). After trekking for 3 weeks it felt like staying in the Burj al Arab! Wifi coverage is a bit hit or miss depending on where you are in the hotel. A few small repairs needed in some of the rooms.
- Richard (5/5): Passable -
- Aashish (3/5): I had a very bad stay here, couldn’t sleep due to mosquitoes, had to stay here due to no cancellation option - Food was good I didn’t like the rooms at all, mosquitoes in the room
- Claire (8/5): Lovley location in a quiet area. - lovely location, down a small side street away from the main road.
nice and quiet, but still close (15 min walk) to Thamel.
lots of nice restaurants within a 5-10 min walk. room wasn’t cleaned or towels replaced during whole of 5 night stay.
had to ask for clean towels and more toilet roll.
- Claire (8/5): Very good -
- Anthony (8/5): A good stay in a comfortable hotel - The selection for breakfast was good. Staff were very friendly and helpful and could not do enough for you. Made heaps of suggestions on what to do and see and organised a driver for me The room could have been slightly cleaner and the lighting was not great. WiFi was good when it worked, however dropped in and out all the time
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good - Friendly and helpful staff. Second time staying after a 12 day trek. Room was better as had a good shower. Breakfast just as good as before.
- Jennifer (7/5): Good - Breakfast was plentiful with a range of items including fresh fruit. Staff were friendly though sometimes a little slow. All spoke good English. There was some confusion over the booking which after a long travel time was not appreciated, said they had tried to get in contact but this was not the case. All sorted in the end.
- Lai (5/5): Passable -
- Jane (7/5): Quiet and comfortable, but not the best value for money. - The hotel is peaceful and calm, away from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu’s busy streets. I thought the breakfast was not good quality. It was a buffet of congealed hot foods (eggs, beans, potatoes etc) and dry toast bread. Disappointed to be offered only instant coffee at a hotel of this standard.
- Jack (6/5): Pleasant - Decor a bit tired, in particular the bathroom. Think better value for money available elsewhere. Only seems to be guests that are booked by tour companies who stay (presumably for lower rate)
- Wiam (1/5): Bad -
- Om (10/5): Overall a fantastic stay, loved everything. - Hotel staff were excellent starting with Rabindra. Since we were leaving early in the morning, he even organised takeaway breakfast for us.
- Adhikari (7/5): Housekeeping is poor - Nice breakfast amazing staff Food is five star
- Anusha (4/5): Disappointing -
- Okko (9/5): Superb -
- Biswajeet (8/5): Very good -
- Kunal (9/5): Superb -
- Ali (4/5): Not for every guest! - The Staff are friendly, but not recommended for visitors who are searching for calm environment as the hotel receives lots of wedding and events bookings and its always conducted at their outside garden. music is load and don't stop till 9pm. But you can enjoy seeing the wedding as its happening in front of the lobby and the outside garden. the breakfast and food is average. not bad but not good nor meets international standards. the noise of the continues events
- Margarete (9/5): Superb -
- Datta (5/5): Passable - Breakfast is absolutely great. But the Wifi connection is very poor. Staffs are though very co-operative. the ambiance also very comfortable. the wifi connection should be better.
- Mukesh (7/5): Heritage hotel with dated facilities - The building is stunning and ideal if you want a heritage hotel within easy reach of Durbar Marg shops and restaurants. It has a dated interior and the whole hotel is in need of renovation. The breakfast buffet is a little lacklustre compared to others in Kathmandu. Better quality bread/pastries along with fresh juices would be welcomed. The breakfast staff were slow and had to be prompted to refill items.
- Molly (9/5): Lovely space off the main drag, quiet and peaceful - The property grounds are beautiful, having a balcony overlooking the garden and pool was incredibly peaceful for tea in the mornings. The breakfast was good, in a nice space. The beds are a bit uncomfortable, would have been nice to have two pillows per bed.
- Claudia (8/5): Welcoming calm atmosphere. - The staff were lovely & friendly & helpful.
The buildings are stunning.
The pool was glorious. The price of drinks & food. £6 for a local beer. £18 buffet dinner.
- Vinod (8/5): Quiet place, old world charm. - Great quiet place, food was just ok, the breakfast was dissapointing. Breakfast
- Eugene (9/5): Superb - great staff beautiful grounds
- Camilla (9/5): Superb -
- Catherine (8/5): An attractive building with friendly staff and consistently good food. -
- Hussain (7/5): Good -
- Ranna (4/5): Disappointing -
- Biswajit Kumar (10/5): A heritage family-friendly hotel. - The hotel is family-friendly and looks like a heritage building converted into a hotel. The hotel is very spacious with a large swimming pool, parking space, and backyard garden. They serve a complementary standard buffet breakfast. They also have a restaurant with a bar for basic lunch and dinner. My family never felt bored staying at the hotel.
- Jay (10/5): Great location and friendly staff! - I was going on a trek for 7 days. They allowed me leave a bag I wouldn’t need at the hotel as I’d coming back there.
The staff were extremely helpful, accommodating and nice. Location was great, close to Thamel and the airport. I’m a chatty person, so got to know the staff quite well. Can’t say enough about how great they all were.
- Richard (6/5): ok place - ok place, not a great bathroom. Service is alright, be prepared to argue to get your negotiated rate. Would stay again if it is cheap, else would prefer Hotel Tibet in the area.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Manaslu stay - I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. We had tranquil atmosphere. Internet access was good. Accessibility to main road was also good. A good restaurant with variety of options is also there within 5 minutes walk. In the hotel, room was clean but with torn and dirty bed sheet. Food was not so tasty in breakfast. The server does not respond promptly for empty basket during the breakfast time. Service from other staffs is slow and some time no response even they assured. Need to ring second time. No refrigerator available although it was assured during booking. The neighborhood is ecologically nice.
