Thomas (8/5): Séjour néanmoins agréable et reposant, le café serait un détail qui ferait un vrai plus - Le calme, le site, le cadre, le confort de la literie Pour avoir un café le matin, deux options : payer le petit dej (ça fait cher le café) ou attendre 10h… Ce serait simple de proposer une petite cafetière avec quelques capsules dans les chambres. Ça se fait dans plein d’endroits, et ça ne va pas faire perdre de clients au petit dej. Sinon se faire limite engueuler pour 10mn de retard au spa sur 3h de réservée, c’est un peu moyen. Surtout qu’on a joué le jeu et zappé le sauna pour ne pas les mettre en retard.

Domaine très accessible avec parking facile. Pas de restauration possible, il faut aller dîner dans les communes voisines, mais un très bon petit-déjeuner. Couverture téléphonique absente mais très bon wifi offert par l’établissement (voire individuel par chambre !)

ALLA (8/5): Très bon séjour dans un endroit magnifique - Le domaine est très joli et bien entretenu. La chambre est très propre, joliment décorée, la literie est confortable. Le petit déjeuner est très bien, autant au niveau du choix que de la qualité des produits proposés. Nous avons également apprécié la piscine, pas très grande mais bien rafraîchissante avec des chaises longues autour, pour se reposer. Le personnel est très accueillant. Le seul bémol dans notre séjour, c'est le bruit de la chambre du dessus, il y avait visiblement des enfants qui couraient ou sautaient, et dans des bâtiments anciens on entend tout. Mais cela dépend des voisins je suppose car nous n'avons été dérangés qu'une nuit sur deux. Personnellement je suis assez sensible au bruit, ce n'est peut-être pas le cas de tout le monde.

Michael (6/5): Adequate for a stopover but a disappointing experience - Very nicely furnished room, good buffet breakfast and very quiet location. Worked well with our dog. Shame not to have any coffee making facility, no restaurant for dinner, dog exercise area was pretty derelict. Expensive for what it was - we are unlikely to stay again as we have stayed in far better places for less.
June (6/5): Adequate but not what we were expecting. - Was a lovely setting, and a very good breakfast. It had a very impersonal feel, like a function destination, with little thought for individual guests. The room was nice but basic, no toiletries as such, just really cheap shower gel, the bedsheets were poor quality, pillows felt old and towels were thin and greying with age. Room felt very damp too. We were looking forward to an afternoon by the pool after a long drive, but it was taken over by a large group having a party so couldn’t use it. Also, no bar or restaurant, nowhere to get a coffee or drink. Needs a kettle etc in room. Just not the ‘chateau’ experience we were hoping for - very disappointing. Would not return or recommend.

George (6/5): Pretty chateau in a quiet location but rather lacking in atmosphere - A pretty chateau with a nice pool and hot-tub in a quiet location. Nicely refurbished room in the Orangery annex with large en-suite. The main car park was not secure as it was outside the chateau gates but the manager allowed us to park our car and e-bike in the adjoining spa car park which had locked gates. The manager gave us a map showing nearby towns with restaurants. Petite Venise in Bonneval was pretty with boats and bikes to hire. No aircon, no kettle. It was not obvious on booking.com that our bedroom was in the Orangery annex rather than the main chateau. We chose this place because one of the reviews said you could use the kitchen but we were advised it was for staff only for preparing breakfast in the Orangery. The manager did let us store our food in the fridge. There wasn't even a kettle in the room so we couldn't have a hot drink. €8 to use the mini-golf

Jean (6/5): Bien, mais dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de restaurant - Tout était OK. Sauf pomme de la douche pas pratique et style bon marché. Agencement de la chambre dans les combles fautive. Impossible de s'assoir sur le lit à cause de la pente du toit. Pourtant le lit aurait pu être mis contre le mur, ce qui le rendrait plus confortable.

Henry (10/5): A really enjoyable stay with family and friends. - Beautiful, quiet chateau. We stayed as stopovers on the way to and from Provence. Rooms were comfortable- I’d recommend the ‘comfort rooms’, rather than the family suite. Breakfast was good too, although if you prefer, you can use the kitchenette in the ground floor of the building next to the pool to prepare your own (Carrefour is only a couple of miles away in Bonneval). The pool and hot tub were well used. Staff were really helpful: there is no restaurant for an evening meal, and they helped us to book a local restaurant in Bonneval. The town of Bonneval is also beautiful- we visited when the illuminations were on and thoroughly enjoyed the trail around the town. All in all, a superb stay. It would have been good to have had a kettle in the family suite.

Robin (8/5): Goed verblijf, met enkele uitzonderingen. - Kamer was mooi en rustig. Alleen douchekop viel steeds naar beneden en wc-bril zat los. Zwembad is prima verzorgd. Ontbijt viel zwaar tegen. Drie dagen ontbijt voor 2 personen heeft ons 90 euro gekost. Brood van de dag ervoor werd de volgende dag weer geserveerd (half brood ging weer de oven in) en aantal dingen waren niet bijgevuld. Een taartje dat bij de ontbijttafel stond werd de dag erna weer geserveerd, maar nu waren de stukjes nog een keer door midden gesneden. Brood was ontzettend hard en haast niet te eten doordat het nog eens was gebakken. We hebben uiteindelijk voor 7 croissants, 3 Danoontje yoghurts, een appel en 2 bananen en wat brood met Nutella 90 euro betaald. Er zit een supermarkt op 10 minuten afstand, dus dat was wellicht een betere optie geweest als we tijd hadden gehad (werkreis). Dan had bovenstaande ons max. 10 euro gekost. In de avond geen mogelijkheid om ergens koffie te drinken.

Philippe (6/5): Site agréable, mais. .. - Site très agréable. Second séjour dans cet hôtel. Nous avions déjà constaté un accueil un peu froid compensé par une jolie chambre. Pas de chance cette fois, l'accueil était toujours aussi froid mais la chambre petite, une salle de bain minuscule et 2 lits simples simplement rapprochés. Nous retournons régulièrement dans ce secteur, nous choisirons un autre hôtel.

Verified traveler (6/5): - This might be a great place for a wedding. But if you're an individual traveler or couple looking for a few nights' lodging in this area, it's got some problems. The website gives the impression of great facilities. And for big parties, that may be true. For us, it wasn't. There was no place within the main house that appeared available to us as any kind of lounge area. The website gives the impression of an on-site restaurant (does not explicitly state that) but there is none, although the included breakfast (mostly cold) was quite nice. As the place is fairly isolated, you had to drive to find a meal. The room was clean, but the overwhelmingly brown decor made it very dark. On the positive side, the folks who manage (own?) the place were very nice and accommodating. In short, I might get married here, but I would not recommend it for the casual tourist.

Lieux assez rare et précieux à refaire en couplé ou en famille.

Andy (6/5): Faded glory - We stayed here a few years ago and were impressed with the work done to bring this magnificent building into a hotel state. Sadly a second and slightly longer stay revealed that little has progressed and the gardens in particular have an un-cared for appearance. The Hotel staff were friendly and welcoming and the room was comfortable enough and clean. Lack of local restaurants and no in hotel dining are limitations. Fine for an over-night stay to break your journey but not so great for a few days.
