Tout d’abord, l’hôtel est idéalement situé, avec de nombreux commerces à proximité et même un centre commercial directement dans l’hôtel, regroupant toutes les boutiques de prestige. À notre arrivée, nous avons cependant été un peu surpris par l’accueil de la réceptionniste, qui semblait se demander ce que nous faisions ici. Étant venus pour la Foire de Canton ainsi que pour visiter des usines, nous avions choisi de porter des vêtements confortables. Lorsque nous lui avons indiqué que nous avions réservé deux chambres, son attitude a complètement changé. Je trouve cela dommage de juger les clients selon leur apparence. Le petit-déjeuner est parfait et très complet. Les chambres sont impeccablement propres, et le service de ménage passe deux fois par jour. La femme de ménage était d’ailleurs très gentille, discrète et professionnelle. Seul autre point négatif : la même réceptionniste lors de mon check-in. J’avais oublié ma carte dans la chambre et, à cause de la fatigue, je me suis trompé de numéro de chambre. Elle semblait très agacée et m’a répondu d’un ton assez sec. En revanche, je tiens à remercier les concierges, qui ont été extrêmement gentils et serviables avec mon problème de valise. Malgré ces quelques points, le séjour reste une belle expérience.

Le personnel a été très désagréable, ma femme a demandé à la concierge de réserver un taxi elle lui a dit d'aller dehors et de prendre un taxi au niveau du mall. Having also stayed at Rosewood and previously at Four Seasons, I can honestly say the service received here stood out the most IMO. Another worth mentioning was the Michelin 2 star-restaurant on the 3rd floor — absolutely amazing dining experience with excellent food. Def for someone who wants cuisine that’s above and beyond the best. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for true luxury hospitality in Guangzhou. And we will definitely return.

What truly sets this hotel apart is the exceptional level of service. I would especially like to recognize Cora, who has been incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. She consistently goes above and beyond to accommodate every request with efficiency and care. It is largely because of her outstanding service that I continue to choose this hotel time and time again. I also have to highlight the Executive Lounge. The book selection reflects a remarkable sense of cultural depth and thoughtful curation—an impressive detail that speaks volumes about the hotel’s taste. The scones are excellent as well. From service to the smallest details, the overall experience is consistently impeccable. Highly recommended.

• Shaunwu (10/5): Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou – Never going to disappoint! - Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou ticks all the boxes when visiting Guangzhou and lived up to our high expectations! We enjoyed the convenient accessibility to Taikoo Hui and connection to Guangzhou metro. Our room is well-maintained and exudes class as one would expect of the MO brand. The standing shower and toilet vanity area were separated by the foyer leading into the bedroom, which is not our preference but wasn’t too much difficulty adapting to. Breakfast was truly a delight to have each morning and had everything that we could ask for – including a separate ala carte menu with MO signatures. There was a perfect balance between Asian and Western options for the buffet. Genuinely 5 stars! Service all around from the Front Desk to Breakfast Restaurant was professional and straightforward. A special mention to the Housekeeping staff who attended to our room and ensured that our phone cables were neatly secured! We had a great time staying at the MO Guangzhou and will definitely return!

The hotel has lots of good restaurants which make it easy for meals. However, I noticed that the traffic is always heavy by the main entrance. Rooms are clean, comfortable and designed thoughtfully. Easy to power our phones (next to both sides of beds), light control not complicated and the hot-cold water in the shower simple. Ample space to hold our luggages. Really like the room. Two suggestions: 1. It would be good to have more sitting spaces by the reception. There are only 2 high back chairs. This would be helpful when the DiDi is late. I found myself and lots of others loitering by reception. 2. The lifts are card controlled. Yet I found myself having to press considerably hard on the control pad to activate the floor. Overall, a wonderful time in MO Guangzhou!

Knowing we’re interested in taking a look at the oriental lounge, she especially arranged our room on the same floor of the lounge. And even the next day Joelle could still greet me with my name and a lovely smile. Cora from oriental lounge is also sweet and patient. Even though we didn’t upgrade for lounge access, she still throughly and carefully introduced the lounge to us. MO Guangzhou is always my only choice whenever I visit this city. Every staff I’d met is elegant and warm.The bed is superb, the breakfast is delicious, and the entire hotel always makes me feel relaxing. It’s an oasis and an escape in the heart of this hustling city.

However front desk Ivy Wang kept showing her arrogant attitude to us which is very unfriendly and unpleasant. She talked back and question guests every words. For example, I mentioned I am silk Fan of MO member. Without checking on computer, she immediately said I don’t know your member. And she kept saying my room was on DND even I already told her my room is on housekeeping mode. Any housekeeper, when hotel guest update the room status, they will just say thanks for informing us. We will provide housekeeping service soon instead of challenging guests in public which look like she knows better than hotel guest that she could give instructions without listening or respecting hotels guests. Her intention is simply to embarrassing guest in public in uncomfortable ways without helping guests to make their stay smooth and wonderful like other great staff I mentioned above.

The service at the lounge was very meticulous, and the check-in process was highly efficient. The birthday arrangement this time was also excellent. There were quite a few people at breakfast, but the dishes were still quite good. When checking out, Silvia recognized me and helped me with the process very quickly. I arrived earlier around 11am and they were able to find an empty room and let me check in soon. Room is large, didnt get great view though. What really impressed me is their service... Definitely another level compared with any other luxury hotel in China. Especially Ivy from front desk. She is super helpful, cares about your feeling and makes me feel at home. Definitely a hotel I would choose next time when I visit Guangzhou. P.S. you can ask them to give you a free magnet of M.O. Guangzhou. It's so cute 😍 Mini bar is not free, be careful.

The female reception staff extended the warmest and most attentive care, delivering a level of service that stands among the finest we have encountered in China. Their professionalism and genuine hospitality left a lasting impression and inspired us to plan a return visit in the near future. From the room design and aesthetic sensibility to the prime location, every detail was executed to absolute perfection, leaving nothing to be desired. • Peech (10/5): Perfect for weekend getaway - Stayed here for 1 night during out weekend trip to Guangzhou. As one of the purposes was to dine at the Michelin 2-star restaurant Jiang - by Chef Fei in the hotel, we decided to stay here, too. Booking through Amex Ceturion entitled us to a USD 100 credit for dining/spa, and we used it to offset against the restaurant bill charged to the room. The room is very spacious and comfortable - not quite as new or nice as the MO in Shenzhen, but very nice in any respect. The bathroom area was very large, split into two sections with the shower and the large, oval bath tub, and double vanities on the other side. We were offered a complientary bottle of red wine, which we chose to take home with us. There was also a big fruit basket, but we were unfortunately too full during our stay to take advantage of all of the varieties of fruits. The hotel is connected to the Taikoo Hui shopping mall, so it's pretty convenient if one wants some coffee or local snacks. Breakfast is semi-buffet style. There is a wide selection of hot and cold dishes, with a noodle station. There is also a reasonably large menu to order from, including a decent selection of dim sum items and egg dishes. The only caveat is that on weekends, one needs to go earlier (before 9:30 a.m.) or else one may need to wait a long time for an availale table. Amex Centurion has priority in terms of early check-in, which is always subject to availability. One this particularly weekend we did not get our rooms by 12 noon. In fact, we didn't get rooms until about 3:30 p.m. I guess lots of people were checking out relatively late. One thing to note: the power sockets in the hotel rooms were all the standard China 3-prong, instead of universal sockets installed in many global brand hotels. This was a little disappointing, but an issue that is easily solved with a call to housekeeping. Be sure to specify which type of version plug you need when you call. Overall, though, we were very happy with our stay. The spacious, tranquil room felt very relaxed. Our long lunch at Jiang was also very delicious, with very good service. We look forward to returning.
• sowhoisgeh (6/5): Not up to the usual standards of MO - I had a mixed stay at MO Guangzhou. This has been a bucket list hotel of mine for some time after coming across it on an Instagram ad. I was immediately drawn by the interior design and I consider MO Guangzhou to be one of Tony Chi's best work. On one hand, the hotel had great F&B, great albeit dated guest rooms, and generally enthusiastic and warm staff. On the other hand, there were some service and quality issues that were difficult to ignore. The stay started when we cabbed over from Four Seasons Guangzhou and reached the hotel at about 1pm. We were told that the room is not ready yet and we'll be contacted once the room is ready. Not a problem and we understood that the hotel was busy due to the public holiday so we walked around Taikoo Hui and came back at 2pm, only to be told that check-in won't be until 3pm. I wish the reception had told us directly that check-in won't be until 3pm so we could make alternative plans instead of waiting on empty stomachs. We booked the Deluxe Room and Tony Chi's design was certainly the main highlight. Upon entering, we both felt disoriented as the mirrors on both sides of the entrance hallway and the dark walls of the corridor leading to the bedroom made us mistake it for a mirror. Our gaze naturally shifted to the bright walk-in closet on the right. This was such a clever use of light and color to guide first-time guests. The room featured an extensive amount of darker elements, which oozed class and understated luxury. That said, the age was clearly showing and there were scratches all over the furniture. There was also a smell in the room that's typically present in an older hotel. In terms of F&B, the breakfast was not bad, that was until we found a dead bug in my partner's fishball noodles. As a result we did not return for breakfast on our 2nd day. Jiang by Chef Fei, on the other hand, was simply world class and fully deserved the 2 Michelin Stars. Having lived in Hong Kong for so many years, we both thought that we'd probably never be blown away by any dim sum restaurant again, but Jiang massively exceeded our expectations, so much so that we booked another lunch on our last day there. All the restaurant staff were simply a joy to be around too. The service was warm but lacked personalization, but it's perhaps acceptable given the room rate. Catherine from the front desk was lovely and even remembered our names when we met her the second time, as well as the doorman who was always there holding the door for incoming guests. Unfortunately we had an incident on our last night when a kid in the next room started to scream at the top of his lungs at 12am. The soundproofing was so bad that I could hear everything in my room. I called the front desk and while the duty manager did come up pretty quickly, the whole ordeal did impact our experience. On our check out day, I had previously put in a request with our TA to extend the check-out time since our train was not until 4pm. I did not hear back from her so I called the front desk myself and it was definitely the first time that they were hearing about this. It did not seem like different departments were talking to each other. Nevertheless, MO Guangzhou did offer great value as it's perhaps one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest MO globally. If you had not been as unlucky as me, or visited in a non-peak season, it's probably still worth giving it a try.

• JuneAlexisLow (10/5): Best experience in China! - We just returned from a short Christmas trip to Guangzhou, China. Of all the hotels in China, Mandarin Oriental has been the most impressive ever! The room was extremely comfortable, clean and everything was done with a traveler in mind-from having a steamer to a dyson hairdryer and a drop cubicle next to the main door for delivery of small items to prevent disturbance in room Of course service was really excellent- especially from the Concierge team from Chase, Echo, Huges to the very pleasant Housekeeper -nothing was too much of a trouble and everything delivered with a "is there anything else we can assist you with' before leaving! A couple of improvements needed- the bath linens had not a freshly scented smell, some actually had this oily rancid smell- we solved the issue by asking for more towels. Another observation- the club lounge was soo packed daily for breakfast- felt like it was a bus terminus! And the poor ladies at the lounge could hardly cope with servicing us all- there were just 3 or 4 of them, looking extremely stressed out! We decided to have breakfast out after that day. Do keep up the good work! The team is extra ordinary, well trained and so very helpful. We will be using more of Mandarin Oriental instead of Four Seasons from now on!!
