- Julie (10/5): - I cannot say enough good things about Onar Villas. I would most definately recommend a stay here. The room was absolutely lovely and convenient. The view was breath taking. But best of all was the service. The porter was so attentive we were compelled to give him a nice tip. We arrived very late around 1am. He was right there to greet us, take our luggage to the room, escort us and show us where everything was. In the morning he had our breakfast and coffee order ready outside at the umbrella table on time and delicious. He also was there to greet our tour guides and get us into there cars. It was also only a few minutes walk to Oia town center with shops and restaurantes. Such a beautiful stay and experience. Thank you Onar Villas and our wonderful porter!
- Hamlet (4/5): - If you are claustrophobic, tall, or dislike the heat, I do not recommend the Olive suite at all. The bathroom is extremely small, the ceiling is very low. There’s no ventilation. Smells like sewage at all times. The air conditioner does not work! It’s just hot and humid at all times, especially at night. The bedroom has 0 windows, it’s just the non functional AC. One majorly important piece of information that the hotel sneakingly does not disclose while you book or even after you check in is that your next door neighbor has to go through your balcony (where your outdoor table and chairs and jacuzzi are) to get to their room. So basically you are sharing your private space with someone else. I was sitting in the hot tub one day, all of a sudden two people opened the gates and entered. I was shocked! Good points are the workers, they are nice. The place is clean, breakfast is good, and the place has amazing views. Overall definitely not worth the price we paid.

The breakfast is fresh and plentiful, with local produce. The team here are so friendly and knowledgable. The location is ideal, right near the shops and restaurants but not in the very busy areas so you still get a lovely tranquil feel. Would highly recommend this property to anyone.

It right at the beginning of Oia so easy to walk right into the town and there is also a bus stop right at the top to get you to Fira. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Hospitality was commendable. The host recommended and booked restaurants and cruises ahead of our stay (given that July gets quite busy). Billie and Alma provided delicious breakfast every morning, well arranged at the balcony with amazing views. I have no negatives about Onar Villa. We had a very comfortable stay.

The bars and restaurants are further up the cliff around 5 minutes walk. The location is amazing and functional. Billy and Alma were great hosts that truly wanted to make sure our stay was most comfortable for my family. See you again in the future! The sunset was stunning from our room (I believe the room name was Camilla). It wasn’t set on the side closest to the water, but offered an amazing and clear view of the sunset that we were able to get a perfect time lapse of with our camera.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Conveniently located Cave Style Room - We booked the Lavender Cave suite for our family of 4. It had a nice view and the beds were comfortable. It had a little outdoor Jacuzzi. They fed us well for breakfast and they were really accommodating with a food allergy. There was a little kitchen with a fridge, microwave, plates and cutlery which was a nice bonus. They were helpful with booking us transfers and making restaurant reservations. I think the only drawback was an issue with ants. They sprayed them immediately when I brought it up. Everything else was clean. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

- Lindsay (10/5): 10/10 Would Stay Again - Onar Villas was incredible. If I ever come back to Santorini, I will stay here again. We saw the whole island and I don’t think there is a nicer location or villa. I and 3 friends (1 couple + 2 friends) stayed in the Lavender cave for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. The hosts helped us check in at 10pm (late) and helped us check out early (7am) — even bringing breakfast 2 hours early on our final day. Breakfast on the patio every morning was incredible. We didn’t spend much time in the villa other than morning and night, when we sat in the hot tub (fits 2 people comfortably, 3 people almost overflows it) every night. The view is spectacular and it is a short walk from the very fancy part of Oia. Our villa was maybe 20 steps down from the main road, which was totally manageable for us but could be difficult for people with mobility issues. The hosts couldn’t have been more kind or helpful — they were wonderful. They arranged transportation for us as well. The villa was cleaned immaculately every day when we left. It really was heavenly. The villa is small — the 4 of us were comfortable and the bathroom was really nice and spacious. Great shower and toilet. The separate bedroom is connected to the main living/bed area so there isn’t much privacy if that’s what you’re looking for. We didn’t mind that. I hope to come back!

- Lisa (8/5): Was expecting more... - We stayed at Onar Villas "Lavender" room for 2 nights out of our 3 nights in Santorini. It's a 2-bedroom with a master King bed in the main living-sleeping room and a Queen bed in a seperate bedroom so spacious enough for 3-4 people. The staff are helpful and friendly. They and the breakfast served at our own balcony are the highlights of our stay here. We found the room needs some good maintenance. The phone doesn't work and the heater for the dip pool broke down on the 2nd day. Bathroom fittings and door knobs are falling off! Also, unlike the other villa we had stayed earlier, despite a more expensive rate, Onar Villas does not offer complimentary transfer nor the famous sunset view of Oia.

Kiki, Sophia and the team were exceedingly accommodating (including providing a very early breakfast as we had an early flight) and beyond helpful. The Jasmin room was excellent, and then there's the views. Being on the edge of Oia means that you do need to walk a few minutes to get into the village proper, but that also means you don't have to deal with crowds etc all night. Overall: Fantastic place, wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend it.

Very friendly staff, but check-in isn't until 2:00 pm (14:00), so if you have a flight that lands at 10 am, be prepared to drop your bags off and keep yourself busy for a few hours. The view however is breathtaking; right on the coast with easy access to dining and shopping. Our villa came with a hot-tub that was greatly appreciated at night.

- Jennifer (10/5): Fantastic hotel - can't recommend it enough - We stayed at Onar Villas for the last 2 days of our Greece vacation. We stayed first in Athens for 3 days, then the other side of Santorini for 5 days, and then Oia (Onar Villas) for the last 2. Oia is just as beautiful and picturesque as photos show, but that also means it's the most expensive part of the island; hence, we only stayed for 2 days. ;) Onar Villas is only 5 rooms, all of them cave houses overlooking the sea. We stayed in one with a private deck but no pool/hot tub. Kiki and her husband are the managers, and they are incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome. The hotel itself: - Onar Villas is a bit further back from city centre of Oia (yet still only a 5-minute walk from city centre, and Oia itself is very small). It's a bit cheaper than other hotels nearer the port. - Each suite is unique and beautiful. Air-conditioning works well, and a kitchenette is included. - There are some mini-markets nearby, so you can easily grab a bottle of wine and some snacks to enjoy on your deck. - Breakfast is included, but it isn't a buffet. They provide a menu of options, and you call in the morning to tell them what you'd like, and they have it ready on your deck in 15 minutes. - We were checking out at 5am when we left, and the staff left breakfast in our fridge the day before, so we were able to have breakfast before leaving. Very thoughtful.

They even helped us find the iPad we left in a shuttle bus which we really thought we lost for good. The owner was also kind enough to drop us to our next accommodation.. it was an unreal experience. - Jon (10/5): Phenomenal hotel with a ridiculous view - Late last summer, my now fiancé and I stayed here for four nights and actually got engaged on the terrace of our villa on the second night. I cannot say enough positive things about this hotel. The staff was amazing and went far above and beyond our expectations in terms of customer service. I wanted to put together the perfect plan to propose to my longtime girlfriend during our stay and the owner of the hotel and one of his employees (Sofia, I believe) helped me make literally all the arrangements for the occasion. They found a photographer for me to capture the moment that I proposed as well as a musician to come sing and play the guitar for us afterwards. They also set up a romantic dinner setting with traditional Greek lanterns, flowers and champagne for the sunset that evening. I am so grateful to the staff at Onar Villas for helping us make our special day so memorable. With respect to the hotel itself, we have nothing but positive things to say. It is one of just a handful of villas tucked right into the cliffside overlooking the water and surrounding caldera. The room itself is nothing incredibly fancy, but has a very cool setup and is very comfortable. The view from the patio is absolutely spectacular. Onar is also in a great location, just steps away from the edge of the main part of the town in Oia. I would highly, highly recommend this hotel for anyone, but especially couples.

We got engaged during our trip, and the hotel service, the beautiful view, and the surroundings of Oia all made for an incredible stay. Laura was so helpful in every way, making recommendations, giving us detailed directions, arranging transportation, and just generally making sure we took advantage of everything Oia had to offer. I also have to say that breakfast each morning was amazing. Absolutely delicious every time and combined with the beautiful view, it was the perfect way to start each day.

Everything about our stay was excellent from the cleanliness of the room to the service we received from the lovely friendly and welcoming staff. We would like to make a special mention of Laura and Marian who welcomed us every morning on the terrace with our breakfast. The view from the terrace was breath-taking and it was a pleasure to wake up to such a pleasant site. We will definitely return to Onar Villas sometime in the future.

- Janet (10/5): Perfect holiday. - Loved Oia and loved Onur Villas. Owners Tassos and Kiki were delightful. So friendly and helpful. Laura and her husband Marian who served our breakfast on our terrace each morning were a lovely couple. They are indeed a great asset and nothing was too much trouble for them. Loved the view from our terrace and liked the fact that we were just on the outskirts of the village (only a few minutes walk away and we do not walk that quickly). Mini supermarket, restaurant and bus stop just up 20 steps from our villa. Just perfect for us. Infact our holiday was perfect and would have no hesitation in recommending this to friends and family and definitely would return.

It's a memorable visit for me and my boyfriend. However, there's a bit noisy due to the sea wind. P.S. the restaurant next to the hotel (recommended by a staff) was horrible, do not try it if you have other choices.

- Tay Hin (8/5): Quiet, Great view and Good service - Started off not so well as I requested the hotel to arrange a private taxi to get my wife and I from the airport but it didn't happen. I called the owner, Tassos and he said I didn't confirm which I actually did but he missed out on my reply. So I took a taxi which is also taking other passengers to another hotel along the way. Charge me the same price at 30 Euros but need to share the taxi. But after reaching the hotel and checked in, everything starting from there onwards was perfect. We booked Dafne room in this hotel. I have to specially mention one of the worker, Laura who is very helpful, nice, informative and get things done right away. They also have guys to help carry your heavy luggage without charges. Tassos is also very informative and basically recommended many things for us especially on the nice restaurants to go for. As we are there during the off season many places are not open, yet Tassos could still suggest some nice things to do and eat. I asked Tassos to get ready some flowers to surprise my wife and that was arranged...wonderful! Breakfast is served in your room or just outside to see the nice view. Location is fine for us, the room is clean, quiet and spacious. I would strongly recommend this hotel.
- Rachel (10/5): Wonderful! - We loved staying here! We had just finished traveling through Europe for the past 10 days, so when we got to Oia we just wanted to relax. And that is what we did! The villa was beautiful and the views were incredible. Kiki greeted us on arrival and gave us a ton of very helpful info about the island: what to do, where to eat, where to find things, etc. The breakfast is served on your personal terrace, and was delicious! The rooms were lovely and clean. They had bath robes and slippers for each guest! And a cute little mini kitchen was a huge plus for us! It was close to the main shopping/dining places in Oia. I will definitely be coming back to Onar Villas!

- James (2/5): Excellent Santorini, unethical hotel owner - Santorini was an excellent place for vacationing if we did not need to deal with Onar Villas's owner - who was unethical and played a trick on us. I am surprised that no one encountered the same experience. When we arrived the hotel about 6pm, the owner brought us to a hotel room, we found out that it was not a "cave room" and was a subpar hotel room not in Onar villa. We told her that this was not what we booked, she started to tell us that our room in Onar villa is not available until 2nd days because the hotel is full. We were very unhappy about this. The owner said there were no rooms available anywhere and we had not other choice (can you imagine that we were 5000 miles away and planned to have great time here, but was forced to stay in this subpar hotel). She tried to make us happy and repeatedly said that the first night stay is free. We were not be able to sleep well in this subpar hotel room OK, 2nd day, we were moved to the "cave room", which was great experience. I called Expedia the night and tried to process refund for the first night as the owner promised. The owner changed the story and only willing refund minimum amount. This was really a bad experience : you are not actually guaranteed the room even it said "confirmed booking". You can be relocated into any room upon your arrival....For readers, please aware of this..
- Esti (10/5): Amazing views! - I chose Onar Villas based on the excellent reviews I had read, and it did not disappoint! My husband, daughter and I stayed in the Lavender Suite which was just the perfect size. Complete with a kitchenette, the rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. What stole the show for us however was THAT VIEW! Overlooking the stunning caldera whilst eating breakfast on our balcony each morning was the perfect way to start each day. Tassos and his staff were extremely helpful making us feel right at home. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and they were always happy to recommend places to visit and eat, making us reservations where needed. If I am ever visiting Oia again I will definitely love to stay at Onar Villas.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Wonderful stay - We had a wonderful stay. The place was a dream. Very nicely furnished in exactly the theme that you would expect. Great breakfast served on the balcony or your room. Beautiful view. The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars was that there was a mix-up the first night when we arrived. No one was present to give us direction where to go and we couldn't find our room. In the defense of Tassos, the owner, we arrived significantly later than the flight and he didn't know how late to stay waiting for us. That, I'm sure will be rectified now and this would be a great place to go. And it is an exceptional value in the off season.
- Stacey M. (10/5): AMAZING room, AMAZING view, AMAZING staff - I cannot say enough about this villa. Our room was incredible. Clean, comfortable and luxurious. The staff was extremely accommodating at all times of day and night. Anything you need, they will help you with. Mornings start with an enormous breakfast brought right to your room. We had to eat inside because we were there in February and it was a little chilly to eat on the balcony. There was so much food we usually weren't hungry again until dinner. The view from the balcony was amazing. We took pictures that looked just like the ones you see in tourism magazines. The room was huge with the most comfortable bed and pillows. We had a second bedroom with the same quality bed and bedding. The bathroom was beautiful and modern with a rain shower head. It even had a beautiful view while taking a shower. When we needed a rental car, Tassos the owner, called for us. When we needed a 6 a.m. taxi to get back to port, Tassos called for us. The staff was always at our beck and call and extremely friendly and helpful. The only issues we had was finding it initially (it could use a bigger sign) and the wi-fi would go in and out but really, when you're on Santorini, do you really need wi-fi for extended periods of time? We only used it to download the hundreds of pictures we took. If I were to go back to the island I wouldn't stay anywhere else but Onar Villas. It was AMAZING.
