Guest Reviews
- Natalie (10/5): - Breakfast was delicious; it was made fresh with a lovely assortment of choices available.
- Terri (10/5): - The host and hostess really enjoyed meeting and greeting newcomers
- Mikal (10/5): - This was our favorite overnight stop during our recent trip to Scotland. The location is beautiful, peaceful and quiet and is the perfect place to stay for making day trips to visit all the sights in the Highlands. Our hosts were friendly and made us feel welcome, and our breakfast was perfect -- the best breakfast we had in Scotland. We hope to visit again someday.
- James (10/5): - Excellent staff
- Aneta (10/5): - Our stay at Binnilidh Mhor was absolutely wonderful! Alan and Sheila made us feel right at home with their warm hospitality and genuine kindness. The B&B itself is immaculately clean, with spacious rooms and comfortable beds—exactly what we needed after long days exploring the breathtaking Scottish Highlands.
The breakfast was delicious, and Sheila’s homemade yogurt was a standout—so fresh and flavorful! But what truly made our stay special were the lively and memorable conversations around the breakfast table. Alan and Sheila have a gift for creating a welcoming, friendly atmosphere that makes you feel like part of the family.
The surrounding countryside is stunning, and the people in the area are as warm and welcoming as our hosts. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and we will definitely be returning to Binnilidh Mhor on our next trip to Scotland.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cozy, comfortable, and heartwarming stay in the Highlands. Thank you, Alan and Sheila, for such a memorable visit!
- Alison (10/5): - A beautiful place to stay while visiting the Loch Ness area. Quiet area and safe parking on grounds. Not suprised visitors book showed people from all over Europe - its a gem. Absolutely spotless and the hosts cannot do enough for you. If you intend to visit Loch Ness or Skye, this place is central for your day trips. A fantastic breakfast sets you up for the day. 5*

The place is lovely, well decorated and warming. Rooms are equipped with everything you need and more. We would love to go back!
- Melanie (10/5): - Sheila & Allan were wonderful hosts. Their hospitality made all the difference for our stay. They went out of their way to accommodate a dietary restriction, provided delicious food, recommendations, and great conversation. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well stocked for our continental breakfast the first morning. We’re looking forward to recommending their B&B to our loved ones and returning ourselves.

The hosts are amazingly friendly, easy to talk too and enthusiastic that you have an enjoyable stay at their home. Sheila went the extra mile and got in a special breakfast request of mine. The room was very spacious, super clean, well equipped and extremely comfy. Everything has been thought through from luggage mats to protect beds from dirt to dimmable lighting, USB charging and comfy chairs. We would 100% stay here again and plan to use here as a base for a few days exploring rather than passing through on our return to England like this time.
- Jennifer (10/5): - The outside appearance is inviting. The inside is charming. Beds are pristine and comfy and the amenities are abundant. Soaps, lotions, and hair products are locally made and eco friendly.
Breakfast service and food is excellent.

Corkscrew and bottle opener in room and you can eat snacks in garden room. Lovely host. Amazing breakfast and went the extra mile to give me a wonderful vegan breakfast. Husband had local smoked salmon. Will definitely visit again when up this way,
- Patrick (10/5): - The owners, Alan and Sheila are very friendly, helpful and diligent. They were very accommodating with our late check-in.
The property is very clean, welcoming, quiet and comfortable.
There is a wide array of breakfast item choices. Many of the food items are home-made, including the yogurt which is amazing. We would definitely return. 10 /10
- Mehul (10/5): Worth visiting again, and again - This is an excellent B&B to stay, best so far. Sheila and Allan are wonderful hosts. Every little detail is very well thought of, whether it be room, bed, bathroom or breakfast. Breakfast was cooked to order and perfect with fresh fruits. Place is remote, quiet and serene.
- Shannon (10/5): - We had an excellent stay, although it was for one night, as we ventured towards Loch Ness. Sheila and Allan were very kind and gracious hosts. The B&B was very clean and the beds comfortable. Our breakfast was fantastic! Should I venture towards the highlands again, I will absolutely stay at Binnilidh Mhor, just longer.

- peter (10/5): Amazing views and lovely place to stay - We have a lovely stay in a lovely location with fantastic hosts. Breakfast was cooked
As per pre ordered. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed was super comfy. If you want some where out of the way with comfort and amazing views with fab people looking after you then this is the place to stay

- Gazza (10/5): Lovely B&B - What a lovely B&B, run by a very nice couple. A good sized room with large comfy bed and nice en-suite with great shower. Breakfast was excellant and plentiful. Would definitely stay again.
- Matt (10/5): - Flawless. I travel for work and pleasure about two months per year. This was the best of the best. While the place a little out of the way, the extra miles are well worth it. Awesome value as well. If you desire to spend a night in Scotland with real Scots, this is it.
- Becky (10/5): Beautiful B&B between Inverness and Loch Ness - This was the most amazing B&B. The breakfast was superior. The room was large, quiet, and extremely comfortable. I highly recommend this B&B.
- Jennifer (10/5): - The B&B is a bit in the remote area, otherwise, we enjoy the stay there.
- Dal & Claire (10/5): Outstanding B & B - We felt completely at home as soon as we stepped through the door. Fantastic room, equipped with everything, warm, comfortable and spacious. The most welcoming and friendly hosts who went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect. Huge choice for breakfast, freshly cooked to order and delicious as was the evening meal we booked for our arrival. Can not recommend this wonderful place highly enough, an absolute pleasure to stay here.
- Nikhil (10/5): Stunning! - Absolutely fabulous! Tucked away in a cozy location with proximity to the Isle of Skye and Inverness area.
The warm welcome and hospitality from Sheila just blew us away. Amenities in the room were luxurious and state of the art. Full breakfast in the morning was amazing as well. Sheila is an awesome host and made our first ever stay at a B&B memorable!
I wish we had stayed longer but nonetheless our first night at Binnilidh set us up for a great 4 day trip in Scotland. Would love to visit again.
The only negative (if you can call it that...) was that, after staying at Binnilidh B&B, all the other accomodations in Scotland look pretty modest :) Two thumbs up!
- Shahna (10/5): Attentive and Thorough - Wanted to stay near Lochness. We needed a good central point. Staying here gave us a chance to see the beautiful surroundings and talk to those who live here. Outstastading venue and attention.
- Deborah S. (10/5): Perfection - What a gem in rural Scotland. Out of the way, but not hard to find. Very scenic surroundings. Everything said welcome from the first moment we arrived. The host and hostess were there to greet us and show us our room. The room was immaculate, spacious, very modern and comfortable. We felt completely pampered.. Breakfast was hot, prompt and delicious. If you are not pleased with your stay here, there is no pleasing you!...
- allison (10/5): - Loved it, breakfast was amazing
- John (10/5): Awesome place in a quiet location - These folks were simply fantastic. Offered to make reservations at a restaurant for us and everything.
- Jessica (10/5): Great stay! - While we only had the pleasure of staying one night, it was a perfect one night. Binnilidh Mhor was a great stopover for us on our way to Skye -- quiet and comfortable, in a beautiful location. Our breakfast was delicious and even though it was last minute, Sheila prepared us a vegan meal!
- K (10/5): Amazing! - The location is beautiful, ownership is so friendly and accommodating, the room was comfy and even had USB ports for international travelers. I only have good things to say about this B&B.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice hostess, good breakfast selection, nice company at the breakfast table. Would stay here again if in the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful. - Clean, spacious, friendly, place. Nicely decorated. All modern amenities. Very friendly hosts. Excellent breakfast. Best place in our trip so far.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A must stay - If you are looking for peace, beauty, and relaxation this is the place for you. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. The room was large with everything you could want on hand from the fridge to the Tunnocks mallows! Our room was spotlessly clean and had a large comfortable bed. Breakfast was superb and ordered the night before with your time slot to enable Sheila time to make each Breakfast. Sheila and Alan are fantastic hosts and a mind of information about the area and places to visit. All in all this is the best Bed and Breakfast I have ever stayed in and we will definately be staying again if we come to the highlands again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Off the beaten path; secluded - Owner's were very friendly; posted on facebook that I would recommend this B&B to anyone traveling in the Highlands
- peter (10/5): Binnili Mhor - Only stayed for one night, wish it had been longer. A beautiful b&b, very spacious rooms and a huge comfy bed. Little added luxuries were well received too (fresh milk instead of uht, an array of coffee's and tea and lovely biscuits :-) )
We ordered breakfast the evening before from a very generous menu and had it in the large reception room with wonderful views over the hills. We will definitely be returning. Not forgetting our wonderful host Sheila - thank you.
- Richard H (10/5): - Our host Sheila was so welcoming. The house and our room was wonderful. So comfortable, everything looked new and was so clean and well kept. Breakfast was delicious. We felt truly at home.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Really nice - like being at home - Really modern clean and well decorated and maintained room - we were the only ones staying so had full use of the facilities which if we'd used would have been a big lounge that was just like being at home - it's basically a really nice new house that's is extremely well kept and clean and the host couldn't have been more accommodating. Food was Tesco finest yoghurts, on the vine tomatoes etc so no cheap mass catering stuff. We received a lot of instructions upfront that made us worry a bit but once there we could see it was purely due to the high standards they have and wanting to keep them up. Really enjoyed it
- Alex (10/5): Fantastic Stay in Binnilidh Mhor - It was a great experience to stay in Scotland Loch Ness area. All what we wanted to find were in a place: clean house, welcoming hostess Sheila and convenient location.
One warning for right hand traffic drivers : roads are very narrow- be very careful!
- Verified traveler (8/5): good place to stay - excellent place but we had to pay twice. we quaruple room so we have to pay for 2+2 for the same room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): The best B & B out of the 10 I stayed in - Friendly, very helpfull, beautiful large room, wonderful shower, great bathtub, great food. Sheila was the best. We did not need to provide any thing.
- Paul (10/5): Great stay - Fantastic in everyway.
Everything we had hoped it would be and more...
- Trish and Meg (10/5): Can we move in permanently? - What a lovely place to stay. A most gracious and accommodating host. She obviously loves what she does and goes out of her way to be helpful. Lovely location and the room was fabulous, comfortable and spotless.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful B&B - We booked a two week driving tour of Scotland and stayed at B&Bs or small "inns" for the duration of our travels. Binnilidh Mhor was the exact picture of where we thought we would be staying each night - comfortable, updated rooms; friendly, local owner; delicious food; and the opportunity to share breakfast with fellow travelers. Although the B&B is actually in Invermoritson, an hour outside of Inverness (which we did not realize when we booked it, and caused some confusion in trying to locate the B&B the night of our stay), it is definitely a location I would select again.
