- Hall (6/5): Basic accommodation in walking distance of Southend's main attractions - The property was generally clean and had everything we needed for our short stay. It was about a 15-20 minute walk to Southend beach and had shops nearby to buy supplies. There was also a lovely park about a 10-minute walk (Priory Park) which my kids really enjoyed. We were also met and helped out by a lovely lady, Zoya, who was a star. It was also really helpful to have parking on site. The property and it's contents are quite basic but gave us what we needed for a short stay. Some of the items, like the shower, could definitely do with an update. It's also quite a noisy block as the front door bangs loudly and it's very easy to hear anyone who is coming/going inside the property.
- Gina (5/5): - It was adequate for my stay It was a nightmare to find due to the road being blocked permanently just near the property. Onsite parking limited to one parking space right outside the entrance. It was way too hot. No way of controlling the heating.
- Lisa (10/5): Comfortable flat, amazing host! - This is our third stay in this flat as we visit extended family members in Southend. Our host, Zoya was amazing! The communication with Zoya before and during our stay was exceptional: The flat was clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Zoya is so helpful - thank you Zoya, we will definitely be back to stay here again.
- Glynn (10/5): - Zoya was very helpful and really looked after us. She was a fantastic host... Just some TV channels were not available...
- Lewis (8/5): -
- Dung (10/5): -
- Jenkins (10/5): Host was very helpful, Private parking was provided, Near to beach and fair and we’re blessed with great weather. - It was clean, spacious and close to amenities The walls are thin and you can hear noise from stairwell.
- Antonio (7/5): - La sistemazione è risultata efficace.
- Minka (10/5): Zoya such a helpful lady she did make sure that we were comfortable 🥰🥰 - Nice and clean N/a
- Amine (9/5): -
- Louise (6/5): - Overall pleasant stay, the apartment itself was clean and comfortable. Told the host on check in we would be leaving just after 6:30am on check out day.
Check out day arrives and host was knocking on the door at 6:28am, asking if we were still there. Came back 5 minutes later (6:35am) let self in and was wandering around the apartment, looking in the rooms, whilst we were still getting ready to leave. We had not finished in the apartment and found it very bazaar and really wanted a bit more time to chill in the morning before leaving. We were here for work but if we had decided to leave later because things do sometimes change, with the apartment check out being 10am, we could of still be in bed.
- Moreblessings (10/5): - Everything! Zoya was an amazing host 👏 N/A
- Kayleigh (8/5): -
- Natalie (8/5): -
- Steve (8/5): Practical and useful. - Met by the host; handover went very well. Beds were comfy enough; a little noisy from the main road but was expected. Wasn't used for cooking, but facilities were in place. Was noisy from other apartments.
- Jon (9/5): - It is clean and comfortable. Zoya is the best thing about this place…she is amazing!
- Ajileye (8/5): -
- Dervish (10/5): - Zoya was very nice and friendly..she made the whole experience much nicer.
- Jocelyn (10/5): My friends and i love the apartment and its so clean and the staff so friendly and helpful .Highly recommended!!! - The place it self easy access to the store and very convenient and soo clean and quiet. Definitely high recommended to everyone! Nothing
- Miius (10/5): - Friendly smiley warm welcome Can't complain about anything was really nice
- julie (7/5): It provided a base for meeting of friends - Good price for what we wanted. Lovely responsive Zoya who welcomed us and checked us out. The rubbish out the window, a huge pile of laminate wood, mattresses etc
- JULIE (9/5): Good - Host was very nice
- Nuno (10/5): -
- Hayley (10/5): Lovely little getaway - It’s a good location and it was away from the hustle of the seafront. The lady who checks you in is wonderful so friendly and happy. The property even had little things like shower gel so nice little things. The cooking pots/pans ect were not enough so was very hard to cook food
- Peter (6/5): - Location was good.
Short walk into town 15mins Shower over the bath, didn't have grab handles, the whole place could do with a good clean.
- Glenn (7/5): - Good location for us as we were completing a course at Swift Clean. We would stay again if we were in the area if the details were rectified. Kitchen: There was a control knob on the cooker missing. so we were unable to control the cooker, (So we did not use it). I would like a pair of scissors (to aid opening packaging). Bedroom: I don't like throws and cushions on beds as they are rarely clean. The ones in the main bedroom were dirty. Bathroom: Shower gel was left in the bathroom from the previous renter. The fan housing in the bathroom was dirty. Parking: We were charged an extra £10.00 for parking during our stay, which was not mentioned at time of booking.
- shey (9/5): Great place to relax. - Quiet and comfortable
- Jayne (7/5): - Location for staying to visit a family member. Having to pay a deposit for a run down apartment with big crack down the window next to the TV, which didn't see on arrival as curtains had been closed.
Also get told to park at the back, with they charge you for, when there was plenty of parking in the front free.
- David (8/5): Very clean and lovely staff - I liked the warm reception and friendliness.
- Omar (8/5): -
- Johnathan (10/5): -
- Layne (9/5): I enjoyed the peace and quiet and the comfort of the apartment, it was clean and the staff very helpful and welcoming. - It is near to the seafront but far enough away that you got peace and quiet. It was vey comfortable The television did not work properly, after watching it for an hour you can change channels. The button for the shower did not work so I could only have baths. The are no baking trays so limited in what I was able to cook.
- Kobina (1/5): - kitchen
The bed was very bad the bed is so bad..and very low
- rebekah (8/5): - Zoya was a pleasure to deal with. The apartment was absolutely spotless, bathroom and rooms were modern and beds were very comfortable. I would of liked if there was a coffee machine or even just tea and coffee facilities there. Shop is right beside the apartment block so wasn't a big deal, the only reason im saying it is because anywhere else i stay usually has that there
- Akua Takyiwaa (10/5): - The caretaker Nothing
- Mihaela (10/5): Bun - Foarte bun Da
- Eleanor (10/5): -
- Natasja (10/5): zeer goed - zeer goede service, de host was aanwezig toen wij aankwamen. De ruimte is zeer groot en comfortabel. locatie op loopafstand naar het vliegveld. niets
- Dawn (10/5): Very good apartment - The accommodation was clean, well presented and comfortable. Kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms all good.
Zoya, who takes care of the apartments was excellent. She was very kind and helpful . She answered any questions we had about shops, transport etc. All good 👍
- Colin (9/5): -
- Jason (3/5): Was ok stay host was very nice good for trades ppl working away not idle for family’s. - The parking was good for £2.50 a night unexpected but it was ok. The marks on all the walls the kicked in bath the mold in the bathroom and no bowls and front door handle loose with lock frame hanging off like it has been jimmied with a screwdriver or kicked.
- Jane (9/5): Well appointed apartment, comfortable, clean and convenient. - Everything I needed for a weekend stay, including parking.
- Evans (10/5): It was a great experience - Clean space , no noise
- Claudette (10/5): Fantastic - Nice clean and well kept by your host she is fantastic and very caring towards people she is spot on with what she does superb person. Clean and tidy and well looked after.
- Habib (7/5): overall it was okey but the price was bit higher then it should but it’s ok stuff was amazing had no issues - the stuff was amazing that lady i forget her name now but she super helpful and kind price
- David (9/5): -
- Kaitlyn (5/5): Passable. Southends lovely, and the Meridian Apartments were okay. - In a decent spot of the town, shops within walking distance so we could save money, takeaways too. Bus stop pretty much right outside the place, so yay there! Overall a decent stay, but there were a few things that could be improved, namely communications. I went with my best friends, and I’d asked specifically for a twin bed room for me and one friend, and a double room for the other two as they’re in a relationship for context. Seems to have been either a language barrier or a mix up, as when we got there, it was two double bedrooms, so me and one specific friend had to share. It was just a bit of a misunderstanding, ultimately it didn’t throw anything off but I thought I had made my intentions clear. Perhaps not.
There was also cat poo in the ‘garden’ - if you can even call it that. More like a little strip of fake grass and stones with also a fairly irresponsibly laid ‘step’ - which was a big grey brick that my friend fell over at least three times. He wasn’t hurt, but it’s still a bit irresponsible in my eyes. Garden was good as a smoking area though, haha.
- Evans (10/5): -
- Raies (10/5): Zoya great host very kind lady - Great location Nothing
- Ron (10/5): It was a great stay in Meridian. - Soya is excellent and a lovely lady. The back entrance wasn't locking.
- Evans (9/5): -
- Wim (8/5): - De service was top. Qua inchecken en uitchecken
- Karen (10/5): Enjoyed our stay with family and the Meriden is perfect to be close to my family. I will always return as long as it sta - We love the location, cleanliness & the staff. Zoya is the best. I thought it was a bit expensive considering the front window was broken & it made a whistle noise, it changed the temperature of the room. It didn’t spoil our stay and I would go back as it’s close to my family and the staff are so good. It is clean.
- Marc (1/5): We couldn't stay in this dangerous filthy dirty flat . - Friendly lady met us with keys . Described as apartment suites ,Unfortunately a run down top floor flat in a run down part of SOS. Charged extra to park in the flats , allocated , unsecured car park , with all the rubbish. Took £100 damage deposit , nothing left in the flat that wasn't already damaged/broken .Everything in the property was of extremely poor quality , very poorly decorated , what was in the flat was already broken ,damaged and filthy dirty. Filthy dirty , filthy curtains and blinds , windows wouldn't stay shut because the mechanism and handles were broken , heaters falling off walls , oven knobs missing , kitchen units repaired with masking tape ,lamp base sellotaped back together , shower broken ,shower hose split , bath panel kicked in , hooks falling out of wall , rubbish stored in bedside cabinet , front door wouldn't stay shut ,hole in the TV screen ,beds broken ,fuse box melted .Photos on website nothing like the property . where the previous reviews are from we have no idea , i would warrant they aren't from people who have actually stayed in the property . We was eventually refunded , even though the refund was originally attempted to be put through as a sale , and we was asked not to leave a review . Owner then told Booking.com we didn't bother to turn up , hoping to get the full payment for a no show .
- Asmita (8/5): - Very nice and comfortable and the staff is so sweet
- Slav (8/5): - Odleglosc do morza spokojnym spacerem okolo 15 minut Mnustwo smieci w kolo apartamentu, przed wejsciem, nie zrozumiala oplata za parking mimo parkingu przynaleznego do bloku, zdjecia apartamenu nie aktualne.
- Grainne (7/5): - Zoya was absolutely wonderful!
Clean crisp linen and soft fluffy towels
Warm rooms The smell in the drains (bathroom and kitchen) were awful.
I am also very sensitive to mold and this bothered me but not the other guests.
- Holly (10/5): - Me and my family love everything about these apartments. We have stayed here many times. Zoya is absolutely amazing with my family. She goes above and beyond to make sure we have a great stay . Our apartments are clean , comfortable and relaxed. Zoya is only a phone call away when we need anything There is nothing we dont like
- C (10/5): -
- Celo (8/5): -
- Demi (7/5): -
- Gavin (10/5): Is very good - Good
- Simone (9/5): - So helpful on arrival Busy road and no restaurants nearby although only 18 minutes walk to Central Southend
- Angela (9/5): -
- Karen (9/5): Brilliant we had a great weekend. - Very comfortable, clean, warm. Zoya is lovely. Very welcoming. It suited our location perfectly. Minor, but please put some hangers in the wardrobes. Would be very helpful.
- Meghan (10/5): - The host Zoya was so lovely and very understanding when we had a bit of confusion with things. It was very clean. bed was comfortable. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this place. Would definitely recommend and will definitely stay again.
- TINA (10/5): Great - The price you have Privacy the whole apartment and help if needed anything downstairs Couldn't stay longer and wasn't an option for longer term stay
- Claire (9/5): -
- TINA (10/5): -
- C (10/5): -
- Ernestas (10/5): - Lots of space.
Even we was travelling for work it was amazing to stay in like this flat. Was amazing there.
- shana (10/5): -
- sanoop (10/5): Miss zoya was very helpful and I will recommend to this everyone. - Very neat and clean.
Good Ventilation
- Jon (9/5): - Good location and comfortable apartment. Have stayed before and will definitely stay again with my children.
The best thing about it is definitely Zoya, her friendly nature makes it for us. She is a star! Nothing
- Tim (10/5): -
- Bainy1996 (6/5): - Can't fault Zoya - she was lovely and helped us to our room. Slightly confused with the location as there are two buildings with the same name in Southend - different postcodes
Couldn't iron as the board had no legs and the iron had no working plug.
The bathroom shower didn't function properly, either boiling hot or stone cold.
Mold in certain parts in the bathroom due to the fan being placed away from the shower - just needs cleaning and painting with mold paint.
Booked a room with two beds as two couples but got a double bed and two singles.
Location okay but quite far from the centre.
Didn't know the room was up three flights of stairs with no lift (good job we didn't have anyone with disabilities).
The hallway in the hotel smelt of cannabis.
I don't think the room we booked reflected what room we were provided - if I knew we were going to be staying here we would have gone elsewhere.
- Philip (9/5): -
- maureen (8/5): Unpack, fill the fridge, nothing else needed! Clean, tidy, secure with parking - Clean and tidy, parking to the rear, very comfortable for a short or long stay, well equipped kitchen- Zoya who met us at the apartment is absolutely lovely and nothing was too much trouble A fair few stairs to climb so not ideal for some only 1 set of keys provided. Shower was either super hot, or icy
- jonathan (10/5): -
- Chaja (10/5): - Lovely and attentive host, comfortable space to stay around Southend for a few days!
- Angela (5/5): - The location
- mark (9/5): - Nice and quiet Nothing
- Marlena (10/5): - A very nice place. The apartment is clean and elegant. Large rooms, one even with a bathroom. The staff is very friendly and has a sense of humor. It's a 10-minute bus ride to the sea. I highly recommend it.
- Deana (8/5): Excellent - Good location, not far from the sea front and close to shops. Good parking at the back , ideal as the roads are busy Busy, noisy road, saying that we spent most of the day out and about, just couldn't open the windows at night due to the traffic noise.
- Eleanor (4/5): Lovely host, disappointing accommodation - First and foremost zoya was absolutely lovely, couldn’t have been more helpful - we called her to say that we were slightly delayed on arrival time and this was no problem, she met us promptly when we did arrive, helped us carry our bags inside etc. Same on checkout we let her know we were leaving soon, within 5 mins she was there to collect keys and again helped us with bags and our children. We really appreciated her hospitality and really are saddened to write a poor review. The apartment was also generally clean and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen had lots of utensils but no teabags etc. The property itself did not reflect the photos or reviews we had read. The apartment block was loud, doors banging day and night. It smelt strongly of cannabis in the hallways. The main door into the block didn’t lock so anyone could wander in should they wish. One of the residents of another rented apartment on our floor tried our door late at night (unsure if this was intentional or not). There was black mould on the bathroom ceiling and mould around the taps - we did not want to bathe the children in this bathroom. The paintwork was very scuffed and marked in many areas, and there were stains on the blinds. The blind in the second bedroom (where our 3 year old was sleeping) was broken. The apartment had a faint but obvious smell of cigarette smoke. I didn’t like my children laying on the sofa as it looked grubby and worn. We were staying in this apartment to visit friends who live nearby, so we spent most of our time out from early morning until fairly late at night which made our stay manageable. However in another situation I don’t think we could have justified staying here. We were surprised when we arrived based on the great reviews and photos but sadly the apartment just did not reflect this at all. It did not feel particularly safe especially with our little boy and baby.
- Matthew (10/5): -
- Andrew (9/5): Great stay - We called and booked this apartment last minute after being let down by a previous booking - response was fast. Zoya was extremely kind and met us there, made sure we knew where local shops were and check in whenever we saw her during our stay. Space was clean and well kept, with parking.
Kitchen had everything we needed Whilst location wasn't where we initially would have liked, it actually worked out very well
- Jon (8/5): - The apartment was clean and comfortable.
This is the second time I have stayed here with my children and we will definitely be coming back. The highlight has to be Zoya…she is so friendly and helpful. She definitely makes the stay!
- Linda (9/5): - Great value for money.
The flat had everything we needed.
Zoya is a fantastic host. She was very helpful and caring. Thank you Zoya, we will come back! Nothing.
- lynn (8/5): Central for what we needed - It was very close to visiting family and central to shops etc. Would have been nice to have some tea, coffee, sugar in the flat . Everything ok
- Hannah (8/5): The host was faultless, but could be cleaner - Spacious good amenities close to the seafront It could do with a good deep clean, it was surface clean and the beds were clean but under the sofas was really dusty and around the bath had some mould. It was quite hot on the top floor, there was a fan supplied but with limited plug sockets this was good for the bedrooms.
- VATS (9/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Home from home at Meridian apartment. - Spacious, clean good location. Zoya was amazing, helpful, knowledgeable. Carried our suitcases to 2nd floor. Nothing it was great
- Anisha (10/5): - First of all, I can’t thank Zoya enough for making sure we felt completely comfortable and cozy in the apartment. She is such a lovely and thoughtful host, and I’m beyond words at how helpful she was throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel welcome and at ease. She even took the time to give us clear directions to the nearest shops and train station, which made getting around so much easier.
The apartment itself was wonderful—spacious, clean, and very homey. It had everything we could possibly need, from a stove and oven to a washing machine, plates, and other essentials. It was so nice to have a place that was not only practical but also inviting and comfortable. We felt like we could settle in right away, which made our weekend even more enjoyable.
The neighborhood was convenient as well, with everything within easy reach, and yet the apartment itself was peaceful and quiet—perfect for relaxing after a day out. We truly had such a fantastic experience staying here, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for more.
Thank you again, Zoya, for your kindness, hospitality, and attention to detail. You went above and beyond to make sure our stay was special, and we’ll definitely remember it with such fondness. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay!
- Charlotte (6/5): Personally not for me - Had to book Somthing last min for a hot water issue at home over the weekend. I saw the good reviews and for the price thought it looked it would be cosy and clean.
- Zoya was very pleasant and personable. Thank you.
- most of it was clean (some areas very clean!)
- we didn’t really use the facilities, so I can’t comment on whether or not they worked, et cetera but there was a washing machine, equipment for cooking. We just put something in the microwave for dinner and that was fine. It’s just felt a little rough. I’ve done touring work and I’ve slept in loads of different places at different price points, hostels, spare rooms, digs- and I’m not fussy, if it’s clean and feels safe great! but in my opinion for the price point this is a bit overpriced. There was sign of damp on the front door, damage to the walls, the garden area was covered in litter (and traffic cone on the tree?) . Half the Tv channels didn’t work, the shower mat needed replacing and was falling apart underneath . And the big turn off - a huge amount of thick black mold
In the shower - not just some stuck in the grouting - really thick stuff (that came off while showing ) . Also unexpectedly was asked to pay £2.50 for parking, which I didn’t protest as for Southend that’s quite cheap, but initially we’d parked the car on the street which would’ve been free so I’m kind of kicking myself and not just leaving it there… everything just felt a little bit rickety in terms of furniture.
I think, depending on what you’re looking for depends on whether this will tick the boxes for you, but I kind of just regret not getting a hotel room as for £92 quid a night. I would’ve been able to find something pretty decent… but we needed somthing in a hurry.
Personally not for me.
- Ina (10/5): - Great long weekend in Southend at great apartments with great owners!
- CHAKIB (9/5): - La propriétaire est très conviviale, et l'appartement super
- Beverley (10/5): - Great apartment, very well equipped. Spacious and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Really great holiday and good value for money. Located by bus stops and shops/takeaways, all very handy!
