Guest Reviews
- Martin (10/5): 5 Stars ***** - Great priced B&B in a charming location. Thank you both
- Anthony (10/5): - Made very welcome, room very nice ,pleasant and relaxing surroundings.
- neil (10/5): - It was so peaceful. I would fully recommened Wayside. I will visit again.
- Mateusz (10/5): - Quiet location, good breakfast,
- ron (10/5): - Great VFM, peaceful, quiet. Very nice.
- DAVID (4/5): - I booked and paid for a double room with en suite but was given a twin without en suite, without any prior notice, this meant i had to get dressed to go to the toilet. My bath towel was dirty and stained, the bin had not been emptied from the previous guest and the milk sachets for a hot drink had gone off and curdled. I have photos.
- Stephen (6/5): - Was a bit concerned when I arrived a couple of minutes before my estimated arrival time to find the owners were just about to leave as they had forgotten I was due. However after that check in was quick & easy.
The room was comfortable and had good facilities.
I was told on arrival I was the only person staying that night so was a little surprised that someone was playing music in the room above me for an hour or so starting around 1:30am.
A good shower which was just across the corridor from the room & the breakfast was very good
- Darren (8/5): - Was a very nice,quiet area to stay,staff were great
- James (10/5): - Lovely location. Isolated. Quiet. Loved the chair swing. Nice room.
- Adrian (4/5): - Unfortunately we had a family emergency . So i never stayed .but i booked in . then few hours later i had to return . collect my things and leave .. Telephone number doesnt work ..Rustic . breakfast would be served in the office reception entrance .. Bedroom, very dated .cramped ..a musty hew . to be honest i would not book again .
- Cameron (10/5): - Lovely spot, easy access to Chippenham by car. Spacious comfy and clean room. Owners were very friendly.
- David (10/5): - Very Pleasant place to stay, lovely surroundings and lovely host
- Laoise (10/5): Lovely setting, very peaceful - Stayed here as I was attending an event at Thruxton circuit the next morning. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
- ron (10/5): - Property is in a lovely setting, with a great view. I found it homely and comfortable and pleasantly quiet surrounded by farmland.
Facilities were as described.
My only small gripe was having to hold up the toilet seat whilst having a pee! The staff were friendly and relaxed. I will happily stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly family run accomodation - Friendly staff
Ideal for business trip
- Peter (8/5): Overnight stay. - Rustic and basic, but all we needed for an overnight stay.
Lesley is a great host! Kind, helpful and makes a great breakfast!
- Thomas (8/5): Would go again great value for money - Very homely and comfortable good calue for money. And the owners were friendly and welcoming just what you want
- Michael (10/5): Great B and B - Wanted a comfortable overnight stay for a family friend. This B and B was just the place I was looking for. I would recommend it to anyone and I will use it again
- Andrew (8/5): - The Owners of Wayside B B were very friendly and helpful to me. My only disappointment was that it wasn't as wheelchair accessible as I had thought it would be...
- Nicola (8/5): Friendly - Room was very dated and the bed was not comfortable and was very noisy
The en suite was a toilet behind the wardrobe so no privacy.
The owner was lovely and very friendly, the room was kitted out with a kettle, tea and coffee and there was also a selection of toiletries which was a nice touch
- Angela (10/5): - Had a very spacious and well equipped room with a beautiful view over fields. Will definitely go back if I’m in the area again.
- IAIN (10/5): Comfy Room & Smashing Breakfast too! - I Had a lovely warm welcome from Lesley when i arrived, the room was lovely & cosy with a really comfy bed.free parking too & a delicious, filling full English breakfast in the morning. One of the best places ive ever stayed & my first choice next time im in the area to stay. Thanks Lesley.
- Judith (4/5): - I cancelled my booking over 2 weeks ago. I did not get any refund. I am a carer and on small income, Half a days work
of my pay has gone on £45.00 for 1 night that i did not stay
I will not recommend oruse this site any more
- phil (10/5): - originally, bit hard to find right entrance in the dark, very friendly, first place to check next time I'm in that area.
- David (8/5): Nice and easy - Plain and simple B&B with very friendly hosts. Quiet location in the country but easy enough to find.
Easy, relaxed atmosphere and very good breakfast.
Thank you
- Lindsey (10/5): Quiet and comfortable and excellent value. - A lovely place to stay for a one-night visit. The location was quiet, the room spacious, bed comfortable, food delicious and Lesley really helpful and friendly. The room was a little chilly at night but there was an electric heater if needed. The decor was a little dated but perfectly adequate and functional. Places to eat are close by and parking at the front is free. Excellent value and would stay there again if in the area.
- Ken (4/5): - The supposed Double Room turned out to be VERY VERY Small. No cupboard space
The Bed was the most uncomfortble i have ever laid on
and again Tatty
The Toilet in the cupboard was so cramped I had to find another toilet down the hall to sit down
The floor of the cramped shower was slippery and dangerous so had to wash in a tiny basin I could hardly get my hands in
Could not get TV working (No instructions)
I hardly slept all night
The redeeming feature was Breakfast SUPERB
- Verified traveler (8/5): Perfect for a one night stay - En-suite room adequate for one but as no separation (door) between sleeping area and toilet you would need to consider if a couple would be ok with that. Fridge in wardrobe which wasn’t pointed out on arrival so I only found that by chance when investigating why doors making a noise!!
Very compact room, tired decor and mismatched soft furnishings but adequate for a comfy night sleep.
Breakfast was superb; hot and delicious.
Very nice friendly welcome.
- Roger (10/5): Lovely location. - Lovely small B+B in very quiet area. Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
- Don (10/5): - A very enjoyable stay. The property was clean and in a lovely spot. Staff were very friendly, and helpful.
- Ric (10/5): Lovely relaxed place - Lovely relaxed place to stay, owners are lovely and answered any questions I had. Visited the pub for dinner at lacock which is just round the corner on recommendation from the owners and it didn’t disappoint the rising sun is a love place.
- T L (10/5): Lovely Stay overnight in Witlshire. Perfect. - Really Nice stay at the Wayside.B&B. Clean, tidy and welcoming. Breakfast was perfect. no problems at all.
- Kaye (10/5): Delightful stay - I really enjoyed my stay at Wayside. Johnathon and Lesley were the best hosts. So welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. I will stay again if I’m in the area.
- Tracey (8/5): Comfy beds and a lovely quiet area - The room was very clean, beds very comfortable and the breakfast was good.
The decor was a little dated but the room was well equipped with a fridge/freezer, microwave and tea making facilities.
- Colin (10/5): Totally recommend this B & B - Very accommodating, friendly relaxed atmosphere and a pleasant place to stay. Very good value.
Full English breakfast was the best.
- Bea (4/5): - The overall impression of the property was of neglect. It is in desperate need of refurbishment. This could be a lovely place to stay with some general T L C. The only good thing for me was in was convenient for my needs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cosy, well-kept annex in a farm compund. Plenty of natural light, good views, secluded enough not to feel overlooked or overheard. Landlady Leslie is both friendly and efficient. A bit of traffic noise from nearby A-road, though this lessens over night. Breakfast was excellent. Would go again
- Jan (8/5): - Good space, balcony with countryside views was a bonus.
- Timothy (10/5): Traditional style room with mod cons - Very nice bedroom, and breakfast room had many interesting aftifacts. Breakfast was delicious with many choices.
Countryside around to walk in.
Hosts were on site.
- Arthur (10/5): Fantastic hospitality - Absolutely fantastic 1 night stay in this very well kept comfortable pet friendly property with a lovely large well kept garden at the rear of the building.
Lesley was so accomodating & friendly, her lovely personality made us feel very welcomed & was so appreciated after a difficult long journey due to weather & traffic issues encountered along the way, she was a fantastic host.
Breakfast was of a high standard, it was extremely tasty & enjoyed by us both.
Many thanks Lesley for your lovely hospitality it was very appreciated xx
Would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone else looking to stay in the area
Thanks again xx
- CeeJay (10/5): Business Stay - 2 Nights - July 2021 - Enjoyed my stay at the Wayside Lodges. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Clean, comfortable and relaxing. Highly recommended and will definitely be staying again
- mr robert t (10/5): - Relaxing
- Gloria (10/5): - Bedroom spotlessly clean as was the bathroom...it was more like being invited into someone's home rather than being a B and B.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Dusty,Dirty,Damp.would rather sleep in my car. Place needs a complete refurbish.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice homely feeling, better then a sterile hotel room. I will definitely go back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It suited my purpose admirably and I can't say there was anything I really didn't like
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Made to feel at home from the moment you step out of your car. Beautiful views
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Huge room with all the facilities you could need, including a balcony with fantastic views. Lovely breakfast room with facilities guests can also use.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely stay very nice location , would stay again.
- Ricky (2/5): - Booked for 4 nights and stays for 1. That says it all.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A country retreat and an ideal centre for touring - A lovely, quiet rural location. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Good accommodation and there is free access any time. Worth a visit, but don't arrive to book in too early.
- Thomas (10/5): - very friendly couple and very helpful,i will stay again if I return.
many thanks
Tom
- James (8/5): - The property is very isolated in the countryside. Just a few neighbours nearby. However, very quiet and relaxing which depends on other residents. Everything available including WiFi and private bathroom and we. Breakfast was excellent. Nothing too much trouble. The twin bed mattresses in our room were completely knackered and uncomfortable. Could feel the springs!
- Carolyn (4/5): - The bed was very uncomfortable; I could feel all the springs in the mattress. The shower was not adequate; a spray more than a shower. The person who welcomed me, who was not the owner, was very pleasant and accommodating. The breakfast was good and the room was clean. The location was lovely! However this was advertised on Hotels.com as a B&B and I booked in for two nights. But when I came to pay I was informed that breakfast was actually extra. This is misleading!!
The actual price of B&B should be advertised and then a discount if not having breakfast!
- Norman (8/5): - One problem was that I was unaware that breakfast had to be arranged on arrival. the result was that no breakfast was made for me. Being a B&B I supposed wrongly that breakfast was part of the deal No mention was made on the Booking acceptance. This does not diminish my rating however it is just an observation of the Booking detail
