• Joanna (8/5): Would definitely stay again - I loved the location, the price, the cleanliness and the amenities on the property. That the outdoor pool was closed, the game room still had heat on and the ( indoor pool only ) was a bit cloudy.
• Phil (8/5): A lovely old motel/inn on the banks of a beautiful lake, located close to the Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of F - I love the location on the lakeside. Even with the foggy autumn morning, it was beautiful and the smell of damp evergreens was great. The property is only about 10-12 minutes by car from downtown Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame, which was the primary objective of the visit. The staff were FABULOUS in supporting my late arrival and making it easy to get settled. I arrived pretty late in the evening after a long drive from Chicago, so the dark, twisting country roads in the rain and fog to get from the I-90 to the motel was a little nerve-wrecking, but that’s not the property’s fault. The motel is and showing some of its age, including creaking floorboards, and shower/bathroom that’s a little worn. Location-wise, other than any in-room foo you may choose to bring, it’s basically a drive into Cooperstown to go to a diner or restaurant. That’s an OK trade-off for being on a lake, but people should just be aware of it.

• Derek (10/5): Enjoyed our stay at Lake N' Pines Motel very much. - We really liked the view of the lake, the indoor pool, spa & sauna, the close proximity to downtown Cooperstown & surrounding cultural tourist attractions. The rooms are clean and well furnished with a nice freezer/ refrigerator combo, microwave, & hair dryer & one-cup coffee maker. It's nice to have access to a good ice machine & several snack & pop vending machines on the property. The office personnel was very kind & helpful as well as were the cleaning personnel. Enjoyed our stay very much. The wifi had no password, so I wasn't sure the network was safe. Not sure if there is a way to put a small hand bar in the tubs, because as people get older, it is difficult to step over a bathtub side with nothing to hold on to; it would be safer & less of a liability.

Plan on coming back next year same time! No complaints, everything went well and everyone was very friendly. Beautiful Autumn scenery!

I mentioned to the front desk lady, and she said” is the first time someone complaint in my 16 years here” . I would not recommend or go back to this place. She should have offer let me send someone or she should have take care of the problem.

• Ilene (10/5): Lake 'n' Pines Motel is great! - We stayed at the Lake 'n' Pines Motel in order to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame, something my husband has long wanted to do! The trip was enjoyable for all 3 of us - our adult daughter came along. The Green Cottage is just right. It was very clean - notably kitchen & bathroom. There was plenty of space for us. The enclosed porch gave a wonderful view of the gorgeous lake. The deck was also a terrific place to unwind & enjoy the views. The reception person was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend Lake 'n' Pines & stay there again if we return to Cooperstown.

It would be nice to see it return We were on the first floor and it was a bit noisy; early in the morning ( 8:30/ ish ), with grounds maintenance; and next door rooms with house keeping We have stayed on the upper level before and really liked that much better; we will definitely be back but hope to be on the upper level

DO NOT STAY HERE if you are headed to play baseball at Cooperstown ALL STAR VILLAGE at 4148 NY-23. There are two locations kids play baseball. DO NOT BOOK accommodation until you know where you are playing. DISCLAIMERS: L&P is a 2-star hotel, so I’m not expecting Four Seasons standards. L&P only has one season all year long “Musty.” SHAME, SHAME, SHAME on Bookings.com for letting a 2-star property hide behind a non-refundable policy. The non-refundable policy is a neon WARNING sign that says: “Once you see the place, you’ll flee.” Non-refundable fees at a 2-star are not about holding your spot; it’s about holding you hostage.3 REASONS NOT TO STAY at L&P #1 Distance – If you book this Motel and find out your child is playing at Cooperstown ALL STAR VILLAGE at 4148 NY-23, you will drive 45 minutes one-way to the ball fields. Then after a long day in the heat drive another 45 minutes back to the sights (really the smells) of L&P. Oneonta is the town to stay in for ALL STAR VILLAGE. #2 (Pun Intended) – The omnipresent septic stench doesn’t just seep into the motel room; it occupies every inch and dares you to breathe. This isn’t Disneyland people; it’s Vietnam meets Afghanistan, no exit strategy, no clean victory. Survival means adapting. That’s why guests shuffle the property double-fisting White Claws from dusk till dawn keeping the BAC at a steady .15%. Should the BAC dip below .05% a guest is inviting the nostril-flaying dumper demons return. #3 Carpet – This carpet is what it must feel like to step onto a distant, hostile planet where the very ground rebels against you. Texture – alien. Smell – alien butt. Imagine a basement carpet that’s been flooded, left to “air dry”, and trodden upon by years of human wildlife. The only earthly match would be the back of a 50-year-old burro who’s spent a lifetime wallowing in dust and swamp muck to fend off bucktoothed horseflies with unresolved anger issues.
• Barbara (9/5): - While an old motel, it was clean and remodeled. The view of the lake was gorgeous and my grandkids loved the pool. It was centrally located for our needs. My grandson played at the Dream Park and we were the envy of the team parents where we were staying. As with most motels, there was not enough rods for towels and not enough hangers. Also the tub was slippery and grab bars would have been nice.

Stayed here to attend our grandson’s baseball tournament in Cooperstown so it was fairly convenient. Everything is in excellent shape with many new upgrades it seems. Only drawback was no close dining without driving 15 minutes into town. I do recommend this motel though.

It was a classic, old motel that has been kept up well. Room was small but nice. Our room looked over the lake. It was 7 miles from Cooperstown. We had stopped so we could visit the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Not worth it! Smart features on TV turned off for some reason. Everything is dated and could really use an updating.very dark room. No light at all in corner with table. We would not stay there again, but it served our purpose of a clean place to sleep.

• Gillian (10/5): - Perfect spot just outside Cooperstown - double queen room was spotless, great shower, enjoyed a lovely dip in the pool. We were able to use the mid-size refrigerator/freezer to store grocery supplies, which allowed for on-site breakfast and lunch prep. The views of the lake - fabulous!

• Katherine (7/5): Mediocre stay - Views of the lake were nice. Beds were comfortable. Clean for an older establishment. Kids enjoyed the outdoor pool. Indoor pool room was smelly and too hot to actually enjoy. Game room was insanely hot as well. Booked a room for 5, then had to pay extra for a roll away for the 5th person. Shower drained slow so only quick showers and couldn't shower multiple people in a row. Toilet area insanely small. It's on a steep hill, be prepared for that if you want to get down to the deck or lake.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Comfy motel right on lake, 10 min from downtown. - My family had a wonderful stay. It was for the last night of my son's tournament at Dreams Park. It's a 20 min drive along the beautiful lake. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. The room is well appointed with fridge, microwave, table and 2 chairs. Decent toiletry products, nice towels. Good shower, though it's a big step up/down for someone like my mother with mobility issues. The outdoor pool was fantastic! Plenty of chairs. I didn't use indoor pool or rec room, but they looked fun, too. I highly recommend!

• Roseann (6/5): - There were many rooms that had outdoor patios, but because I booked on Expedia, I was given a downstairs room in the corner of the parking lot with just a chair out in front of it, not really a patio
• Liz (8/5): Overall nice location, cute amenities - There was no breakfast Balcony view of lake which i paid extra for was not what I expected, thought it would be a little nicer, carpet was all ripped up on the balcony

• Murray (10/5): All in all I would stay there again as long as can get a suite that looks out over the lake. - The location of the room was fantastic. It had a lake view and sitting on the deck looking at the view was peaceful. It was also quiet. The drainage of water in the bathroom tub and sink could have been better. Very slow. Missing slats on the window blinds on sliding door and kitchen window.

• Elizabeth (10/5): - We were in town for Cooperstown dreams park and decided to stay here. I can say this has been one of the most relaxing stays we’ve had. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We had a balcony lake view and spent so much time out there. I would definitely stay here again if we were ever back in the area.

• Marcy (8/5): - Overall a great and affordable place! Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating! We did have to switch from a queen to a king due to a very old and uncomfortable mattress in the queen room. But the king mattress was very comfortable! My only recommendation would be to include an iron and ironing board in the bedroom.
• Ching-Hua (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay - The view, the bbq and tables and the grounds in general were very well-maintained. Staff at the office were very helpful. Plenty of extra towels to use at the lake and pool. Indoor pool was rather small.. if another small party is in it, it starts to feel cramped. Would be nice if the tiny bottles of shampoos and slower gels were topped up along with room service.
