- 508sandaras (10/5): Spacious and Clean Room with Ocean View! - I stayed here recently and was pleasantly surprised! The room was spacious and smelled fresh the moment I walked in. Although the interior design feels a bit dated and reflects an older building style, everything was well maintained and neat. The bathroom was clean, complete with a bathtub, which made the stay even more relaxing. One of the best parts was the amazing view overlooking the Singapore sea it was absolutely stunning to wake up to! Overall, a very comfortable stay. Definitely worth it if you're looking for space, cleanliness, and a great ocean view.
- VeganBelle (2/5): THE WORST DIRTIEST HOTEL EVER - The WORST and DIRTIEST HOTEL EVER!! The staff should have warned me that this hotel is completely run down. The room is old, filthy, and covered in dust. There are roaches and other insects. The air conditioning emits a terrible odour. The chairs and sofa are disgustingly dirty. The fridge is filthy. The room reeks, and it's by far the dirtiest and most rundown place l've ever stayed. The furniture is in disrepair. The carpet is filthy. The blanket is dusty. The towels are yellowed and gross. The bathroom is rundown. This was an absolute nightmare! l'm warning A everyone, do NOT STAY at this run-down and filthy hotel. They shouldn't even be in business. Agoda, please remove them from your listings. It's absolutely horrendous! I've warned you, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!

- Oon Poh Rickie (6/5): 1 night stay ay GBW - Though it was a 1 night stay, the room was large. Aircond was very cold cannot be tone down. Only have bath towels, would be good to provide the hand and face towels too for better hygiene and comfort. Hotel is abit aged need some upgrading. Construction going on outside hotel, noisy even at late night.

- Mfiza (4/5): Bugs at the bed - The bed got bugs. I cant sleep well because felt itchy around my hands and face. When I woke up, my hand got swollen and turn red due to the bugs. Please do proper cleaning since the bed should give customer a comfort place to sleep. Please check!
- rimzsaad (6/5): dont waste ur money on the buffet! - not reviewing the hotel, rather its the buffet dinner at their restaurant - mezzanine.. with so much tiktok vids n talks on their buffet, decided to try n i wud give it a 2/5 rating. nasi lemak was uncooked, complained n tey mix it up instead wif the cooked ones! food was so so n nothing to be wowed for. overall its not a 2nd come back again for the buffet.

I was booked on 29/12 for 3 nights in this GBW Hotel , it really scared and 1st experienced who are faced this kind of HORRIBLE SITUATION!! The happening is like this , our room is twin bed room which is separated living room and bedroom include kitchen. The night after dinner, we went back to hotel, my friend feels very weird in our room, but she ignored and never think so much. Around 11pm , suddenly our bedroom , toilet and tv was shutdown by itself but the two aircond and kitchen lights and living tables lights it ON. Then near the bed two small lights suddenly blink blink on and off twice !! Wtf !! One of my friend have “third eyes” can see those spirit. my friend told us don’t scared, just in awhile those lights & tv will turn in back. After the bed two small lights keep on and off , it really the tv and bedroom and toilet lights it turn on by itself! We faster checkout and find others hotel ! Room no is 801. If not believed can go and stay . Hu Hu Hu .. I won’t recommend my friend come to this hotel . Room was too bad, dirty, smelly and leaking . OMG !!
- QAnnlim (4/5): GBW in need of major overhaul renovation - It's not 4 star hotel. Upon arrival, was disappointed to see the hotel looks really old and not renovated. During check-in, Recep inform us the room we requested for, superior deluxe twin room with bathtub was unavailable, only King room was available. However, the hotel has option to add extra bed at an additional cost, but Recep fail to inform us. So we took the room they give us, just a normal twin room with 2 beds. After check-in at Room 1618, I saw the twin bed abit small, pillows were relatively flat, so I call room service request for 2 more pillows. The housekeeping inform us 2 more pillows at extra charge of RM50, but I listen wrongly, thought it's RM15. Then the crew came up, delivered 1 more extra bed with 2 pillows. Charge me RM50 per night which I also duno it's per night charging. I was stunned but I thought aiyah, just take it lah. Cuz the bed seem too cramped for 2 people to squeeze in. So went down lobby paid for RM150 for 3 days use, they give 3 days breakfast voucher to compensate as its considered paying for 1 more guest in full price. Felt quite cheated lah tbh. The room was extremely in need of renovation, water ingress marks, mould, stains on curtains, old rusty sliding door to balcony, stained bedsheets and head frame turns me and my hubby off pretty much. The carpet looks so dirty we don't dare stepped on it in bare foot. TV cannot make it. Not much programs. My son who has sensitive skin kena many weird insect bites, possibly dust mites. Lucky no bed b... Anyway, only good thing is Aircon very strong and cold, but I suspect no quarterly maintenance done. Woke up v often as sinusitis acts up. The swimming pool was really terok. Got broken Pool tiles, falling off wall light cover that looks like tefal frying pan, floor is very slippery. No pool towels for hotel guests to use. So the lifts are wet after kids used the pool. Terok terok. Won't Come again.
- rollsace (10/5): Excellent Place for Party, Good Location and very good pricing - Our Religious Group El Shaddai, booked the function room for 85paxs, for our Christmas Party 2023,The room was very good high ceiling, very good air conditioning system. The food and drinks is overflowing, nice food , with many desserts, ice cream, and many more 70 Rinnggit per person with a lot of choices . All staff was accommodating ,friendly and helpful big thanks to Ms Sarah of Front desk , The place near JB Immigration and surrounded by big malls, with free shuttle service .Highly recommended

- RollyA41 (10/5): Good Hotel ,Good price,Good Location - My favourite hotel in Johor Bahru Malaysia Aside from location hotel room was so big the price is cheaper compare to boutique hotel. The Front Desk Staff names Zara is kind helpful and very accommodating. Walking distance from immigration, and City Square Mall. There's a lot of food choices surrounding the hotel
- CHEE KWONG (4/5): - 3.5 Star Hotel room is a rundown. Algae on the windows and seems long time never maintain. Pillows and beds are low quality. Shower frames broken.TV signals are so bad. Whole corridors are dark, and it was surprising that the good reviews left by previous guests are really genuine reviews or fake. To be fair, breakfast is moderately OK.

Housekeeping could definitely be better as we noticed a piece of tissue paper below the study table when we first came but it still wasn't removed or thrown away when housekeeping did their work on the 2nd day. There should be a bigger shelf at the shower area for us to place our things while having a shower. The current one is too small and shallow. The location is really inconvenient to get Grab drivers. They simply do not want to take our booking from the hotel. We would need to get out of the hotel area to actually get Grab.

Another room the flushing system was not working and the hotel looked old n frail. Thank god it was only one night stay. N their breakfast choices are few and taste terrible.A total disappointment.

Rooms were dated but comfortable. Wifi was adequate but need to change password everyday. There's a bridge to City Square about 800m away. Overall experience ok.

- Rahmat (4/5): First and last time visit. - Super disappointed with the service on the day we check in. The receptionist give ZERO attention to us and treat us as if we owe them money. No basic courtesy at all. Not even a thank you. So Unwelcoming. When we got in our room, we found a used condom underneath our bed. It just shows that they didn’t clean up properly and it’s very unhygienic. The waiting time for the lift is the worst as we have to wait minimum 5-10mins. Very disappointing experience as we can hardly go up and down the hotel as it will take atleast 20mins just to get our delivery food below. Really hope they can bulk up on their SERVICE, Room cleanliness and proper lift service. Overall I advice anyone staying here to check your room properly and make sure your bed is clean too.

- Feisal63 (2/5): Not worth even 2 star for room #1710 - My wife booked the biggest and most expensive room via Agoda. I checked in with my friend on 2nd Aug 2022. The moment I entered the room, the furniture was old but I was still okay with it. But I was shocked to see the condition of the toilet! The bathtub was rusty and the side was moldy and black. The sink was filthy black. This room should be blocked by the staff as it was not even qualify to call an executive room. I was already embarrassed with my friend coz I told him that the hotel is 4 star so it should be decent and clean. To my disgust the pillow cover has red stain on it RED STAIN!. I was so speechless by then and wanted to cancel it but my friend was kind enough to accept the condition of the room coz he didn’t want to trouble me. How can a 4 star hotel presented that kind of room to a customer. It was executive room some more!!! Honestly it was not worth any cents and even 3 star has decent and clean room.
- sweetgemz (8/5): Comfortable 1 Night Stay :) - It is a old hotel.. For the price, you get wat you pay. Check in was fast and easy. Service staffs were very friendly. Room is very spacious, with comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast is good and enough to keep you full. A good thing is that there is an egg station. There is also shuttle services to and fro City Square and Mid Valley mall. Just that you need to book 1 hour in advance. Hotel is walking distance to the CIQ and near to Pasar Karat too. Overall, we love staying here and will come back again.

- NizamMasood (10/5): Amazing Short Stay - Location : I am local to the area so I know GBW is in a prime location. Walking distance to the city and near to all the things you can do all day long be it eating or movie or strolling around bazaar karat. Love the location. Check in: Smooth, less than 5 mins. Jaya had been helpful with the whole process. I requested for a higher level room, she said no problem. And we got level 16. She tended to our needs very well. Kudos to Jaya. Room : I got the higher level that I want and the view is amazing. The disliked part is the construction site view but the hotel cant do anything about that of course. The bathroom is spacious and the amenities are complete. Took less than 30 secs for the water to turn from, freezing to warm. The wardrobe is big and I like the furniture. Cleanliness : Lobby area, spotless. Room, spotless. Good job housekeeping workers. Around the area : I just know that there are small hawker area behind the hotel the moment I exit the car park. Conveniently located and super good price. There are massive chinese hawker area too just nearby. Breakfast : Modest choices. I like the curry, taste so good. The flow of the breakfast hall is also smooth. Overall, it is not too crowded. Satisfaction : 9 out of 10. We had a wonderful stay.

Unable to connect wifi for more than 1 connections 3. The television is signal is bad. Difficult to change the channel and adjust the volume using the remote. 4. The entrance door has no 2nd locking as it is faulty. 5. No power point near to the beds. Inconvenience to charge the phone and need to search for power points.

- Donal8596 (2/5): Utterly Disappointing - I've stay at this hotel about 6-7 times in the past year and have never been so sorely disappointed. Checked in at about 3pm smoothly by an Indian Lady Receptionist and checked into room #1317. Upon entering the room, entire bathroom is soaked through and the AC is incredibly loud. The AC vents were loose and when wind passes through it, the vents would be vibrating. Also I was roomed against 2 connecting rooms and I definitely would prefer not to as a personal preference. I went back down to speak to the lady who checked it in as well as a slightly older Malay lady about the situation. I was informed there they do not have any other rooms without connecting doors. Best part of that, they don't even bother checking. It's not that difficult to press Ctrl F3 on opera the look at your room plan before opening your mouth. I guess they just cannot be bothered. Wow. I choose not to quarrel with them then because it's just 1 night. Upon returning, The AC is still having the same issues so i guess they totally didn't do anything. FYI Its not that difficult. Hang me a screw and a screwdriver and i can fix that for you. Dear Hotel Management team, I have stay with you multiple times and I know for a fact you have a high geosource from SG and CN. How dare you try to tell me there's no availability without even checking in the current viral outbreak and with your ADR ranging $20-30usd. I'm willing to bet your occupancy is below 60% that day. I'm extremely disappointed and this will likely be why I'm not returning unless action is taken by the management team. It's nonchalant attitude of employees like this who is ruining your once good name. I hope something will be done.

- 741yusufm (8/5): Convenient stay - We were on a cricket tour with our under 15 team from December 2019 to January 2020 in Malaysia and Singapore. We stayed at the GBW Hotel for 8 days. The hotel is reasonably priced at RM160 per night for a double room with breakfast. They disclose on their website that children under 12 stay free, with two adults, but the child does not get free breakfast. What they don't tell you is that they do not provide a bed for the child and the child has to share with their parents. If you do want a single bed included you need to pay extra RM80 per night. This placed us in a real predicent because two of the tour party was kids under 12 and had to share the bed with their parents. The hotel staff was warm and friendly, and were kind enough to allow our boys use of the pool till 20:30 after games and practices even though the pool closed at 19:00 in the evenings. The rooms were clean and had a flat screen TV, kettle and fridge. But the furniture was a bit dated and floors were carpeted and stained in places. Breakfast is really good and large variety, continental and had local foods as well. Also had a restaurant, coffee shop and shop on the ground floor. Also had a small gym. The location was great as there is a Mall opposite with a large number of food places as well as a supermarket. The large JB Central Mall and transport hub is less than a 1 km away and is about a 12 min walk. Also very close to the border in order for you to go over to Singapore. Overall it is was a good hotel and nice staff for the rate that we paid. The only issue for us was the misleading information about the children under 12 staying free.

Apprec hotel mgmt to look at this matter seriously. -Room's carpet near toilet is moldy (executive room-shld replace or do somethng abt it). -Pathway (carpet) fm our room to lift lobby quite dirty. Shld do regular clean up, shampoo,etc. -Toilet's sink stucked.

Driver was supoosed to pick us up from Citysquare at 810pm but did not. The driver just drove passed us without stopping to pick us from the destinated location outside Levi. Even though we had arranged with reception to pick us up from Citysquare at 810pm. Very irresponsible driver. He came with an empty bus and we were mad that he just drove passed us without picking us up.

- Sj84 (10/5): - Better than expected. Large room with everything you need. Nice big bathtub. Can see the hotel is somewhat old but so far was a pleasant stay. Was told by front desk that the entire hotel was non smoking, so no smoking rooms avail.

- Sebastian (8/5): Free shuttle to City Square - For short duration stay, this hotel is pretty decent with free shuttle bus to city square that is very convenient. There is no USB port in the room to charge up the mobile devices so you will have to bring the 3 pings adaptor. But the hotel lobby staff is kind enough to use their own adaptor to charge up our powerbank.

The only thing that annoys us is that your sauna and spa services are included in our stay but it is misleading because you have outsource it to level 5 of your building and it is another expense on our part. There's also a new shopping mall directly opposite the hotel connected by sheltered bridge. Service was great but wished the staff could have been more attentive to guests standing at the reception. Room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable as well. Overall, very value for money if you're on a budget.

Wi-fi connection isn't stable.

- WY (8/5): Best Valued Hotel Near JB CIQ - Booked 2 twin bedder rooms and to reach the hotel requires a 10-15 mins walk from the new pedestrian link bridge from CIQ. Checking in and out were hassle free, rooms comes with all necessary amenities of a hotel, bedding were comfy and rooms rather spacious. However, breakfast varieties were rather limited. Overall, the stay was real value for money for the price paid and is a hotel recommended for a short stay in JB near CIQ.
