• Mir Mahin Ashraf (7/5): Cheap but value for money at the centre of Thamel - Cheap & old-vive hotel at the centre of the tourist area of Thamel. The staff at the desk was good. You will get free breakfast just beside the hotel & the owner was welcoming & took his meal with us. The room is big enough. Overall good for a short stay. The rooftop restaurant was good for Halal meal. Bed sheets are used with stains. This is the most important complaint. Did not get hot water at night. But in the morning, I got it. Sockets are not enough & not of good quality for changing.

• Bîjãy (10/5): Best hotel in thamel - I had a wonderful experience staying at Gaju Suites Hotel in Thamel. The location is perfect—right in the heart of Thamel but still peaceful once you’re inside. Everything from restaurants to shops is just a few steps away, making it super convenient. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-designed, with a comfortable bed and plenty of amenities. I especially liked the apartment-style layout, which makes the stay feel more homely. The hot shower and reliable Wi-Fi were a big plus. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and quick to respond to any request. Their warm hospitality really made the stay enjoyable. The rooftop/restaurant area also had great food and a nice atmosphere. Overall, Gaju Suites is a great choice if you want comfort, convenience, and excellent service in Thamel. Highly recommended!

• Simon (9/5): Value for money hotel in a great location - Great value-for-money hotel in the heart of Thamel shopping/tourism district. Anu, on the front desk, was super helpful and friendly. The rooms are large and comfortable. They are pretty tired-looking but are also at a suitable price point. I'd stay here again, for sure. Location is perfect. The front rooms face the street and can be noisey - ask for something toward the middle or back.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is excellent—close to all of Thamel’s main attractions. There is a restaurant on the top floor and a few bars nearby, so it can get loud at night, especially on weekends. The property has double frame windows, but some muted noise can still be heard. Also, there was a slight tobacco smell in the suite, which was a bit bothersome.

I have only two small criticisms: The hot water had a very strong and unpleasant smell. Loud music from the next bar into the morning hours.

Right next to a club which opens until the morning, the problem is that you can hear and feel the bass when you are in bed. The room's were not clean as it should have been.

The furniture in the living area could be updated/mote comfortable, the bathrooms could be updated, the lift needs looking into as it's now also used as both a service and access lift for hotel guests, the restaurant on the top floor as well as staff/delivery people.

It was also cold and the heating barely worked. The bed sheets also felt damp. The reception shared its counter in a mall. Lots of strange people hanging around. I could not stay there and had to leave. Expedia should not sell this place again

• richard (2/5): Not good - Surprised at the good reviews here. It's very noisy - until 2am or 3am due to clubs being right next door. The service is also very poor - they don't even provide mosquito repellents in the room (which even budget hotels do as a matter of course in Thamel) and when I asked for one they didn't have one, which is just plain lazy and incompetent.

Clean room and attentive staff and reception even during off peak season. New hotel. Different areas of the room were at different level with an inch step.... no issue once you get used to it.
• Verified traveler (10/5): 2 nights in Thamel - We LOVED our stay in Gaju Suite Hotel, it definitely is worth the price. The suite was amazing, and really comfortable, nicely decorated and had all the basic amenities. We loved its unique design: how they decorated the living room as well as the bathroom. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Nepal, with different items for the buffet breakfast each day. We also adored their Reef Restaurant decor, and their daily evening live music and Halloween decor. Perfect location, everything is only a few minutes away: you can easily access the Thamel night life from here. We highly recommend a stay here!!

• Angus (4/5): Good location, but not well maintained - It has an excellent location. Room rates are reasonable. But it has several shortfalls, disappointing for a 3-star. The power supply is erratic, must have had an power outage almost once a day. There is no kettle. There are only 2 lights for the main room, the room was very dim. No separate shower area, so water will splash to the toilet and wash basin. Wifi is slow. The lifts sometimes don't work, could be due to power cut. The restaurant has nightly live music until close to midnight.

• Verified traveler (10/5): 長期滞在にも適した部屋 - ウイークリーマンションのような、１ＬＤＫの広々した部屋でした。キッチンや冷蔵庫もあります。チョッとした食器とポットもあります。この価格でこの内容は充実です。水も１ℓを毎日補充してくれます。セキュリティーボックスがあり、オートロックです。タメル地区内でタクシーを拾う場合には、タメルチョーク南のタクシー乗り場まで行くのが一般的ですが、このホテルはタメル地区中心部の北の端の方にありホテル前の道路がやや広めなため、ここでも常に数台のタクシーが待機していてとても便利でした。1階には両替所やカフェもあって便利でした。朝食は06：30－10：30で、毎日メニューが変わりとても美味しいです。夜は６階のレストランバーにバンドが入ってカラオケ？や酒も楽しめます。そのため、夜12時くらいまでホテル内に歌声と音楽が響いています。私は4階に宿泊しましたが、なかなかのボリュームで音楽が聞こえます。ホテルの住所はあっているのですが、Hotel.comに出てくる地図内のホテルの場所表記が間違っています。色々なことが重なって偶然に早い段階でそのことに気付きましたが、観光に動き出してからだと、自分の居場所が把握できないためかなり混乱したでしょう。
• Bara Olga (10/5): Living in the heart of Tamel, Kathmandu - The hotel has an excellent location in the shopping and social centre of Tamel. The street is closed for cars. Our room was spacious, with a terrace - not all rooms are like that. Of course the quality of air in Kathmandu did not allow us to spend much time on the terrace. There was still some construction work going on in the hotel, but it did not disturb us. The vast restaurant on the top floor with terrace hosts also parties and musical events. The menu was varied (the breakfast became a little monotonous after 10 days), the service good, the staff friendly. We liked our room attendant (Anu) who was very helpful. We had some small problems with finding our way through TV programs, also hot water was sometimes not available. But on the whole, we would chose the hotel again in case of ever returning to Kathmandu.
• Saumil (10/5): Great Service Apartment type Hotel - A great Service-Apartment type Hotel. I stayed in Room 302 which has large Living Room, Small dining table, Kitchen area with basic facilities and good size Bed Room. Bathroom was openable from both sides from Living Room as well as Bed Room which is a plus point if you have visitors. On the 5th Floor, REEF lounge/club is situated which is very nice. Yes, loud music on top you will hear in nights but it didn't bother me. Rather, I went up for most nights and was getting preferred service as a Hotel Guest. Hotel is situated in Thamel market area so you will always find something happening on the streets. They don't have separate dining area besides REEF on 5th floor so they serve breakfast in the room.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Great location - Gaju Suites is centrally located in the Thamel district of Kathmandu. Staff was friendly at reception and quite helpful with needs such as making local phone calls and providing advice. The restaurant was clean, and food was good, however breakfast had limited choices and wait staff were not very attentive. I should mention that service in restaurants all over Kathmandu was quite inconsistent. Hotel was clean and in good condition, water was hot. I could hear the live music in my room from the restaurant upstairs which might be difficult for light sleepers. It wasn't loud enough to keep me from sleeping, and was over every night at 11, so I never asked for a different room. I think there were some rooms which are not directly under the restaurant, or I could have asked to move to a lower floor (was on 3rd, re staurant on 5th). Overall, good impression, but I wouldn't pay more than $35/night which was my 'discounted' rate. There are plenty of other hotels of the same caliber with rated in the mid $30 range.

• Michael (8/5): Nice hotel in the heart of Thamel - Stayed here over 2 periods of time on my 2 visits to Nepal this year. The hotel is centrally located in the tourist area of Thamel with restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. The hotel staff are lovely, particularly the reception and restaurant staff who are extremely helpful. The rooms are comfortable but there can be frequent electricity cut-outs so be careful using the elevator. Hot water may take a few minutes to arrive into your bathroom, particularly in winter months. Food in the restaurant is fine.I have not used the beauty salon/massage center.

Clean with great accommodations (king size beds, air conditioning, huge bathroom, mini fridge...etc). I had stayed in the yak and yeti earlier and this place blew that place out of the water. • Michael (10/5): Great location and service - I cut short my EBC trek and stayed an extra 8 nights at the Gaju Suite Hotel. The Reception and Dining Room staff were extremely helpful and knew me before I introduced myself when I enquired about meals or changing money and using a hotel room. The facilities are very nice and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The cleaning staff do a good job cleaning the room. The Gaju Suite Hotel is centrally located in Thamel in Kathmandu and there are many great shops, travel companies and restaurants nearby. The Blue Tourist Bus stop (to get to other cities) is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
• mwarden (8/5): Great Staff, service and location - I cut short my EBC trek but could not get an earlier flight so I stayed at the Gaju Suite Hotel an extra 10 nights - the reception staff were so helpful - they liaised with Ace The Himalaya Travel company regarding my change of plans as well as giving me a choice of rooms when I did change my plans. The restaurant staff knew exactly what breakfast to provide me after the 3rd visit and the cleaning staff were very polite and made the room very clean and neat. I would highly recommend this centrally located hotel to any visitor to Kathmandu as it is in the centre of Thamel - famous for restaurants, shops and bars.

• Taku (8/5): なかなか良いですよ。 - カトマンズの市街地の繁華街の一角に 位置しており、日本食レストラン桃太郎は 徒歩1分、東京居酒屋は徒歩2分。 買い物、食事には便利です。 ホテルの入口は少し分かり辛いが、 通りに面した外階段を登って奥に入った突き当りが受付です。私と妻二人で泊まったのは402号室で寝室とリビングがバスルームを挟んで 分かれており、広さは充分。ちょっとした キッチンも付いてます。冷蔵庫はありました が電源を入れても冷えませんでした。 バスルームはシャワーのみでトイレも横に 着いており広いユニットバス と言う感じでした。 使い心地はまぁまぁ許せる範囲です。 受付と同じフロアに両替屋もあり便利。 朝食は5階に広い明るいフロアがあり、 そこで頂きました。 値段の割には満足で快適に過ごせ ましたよ。

• Barbara (10/5): Fantastic hotel - Fantastic hotel stay here all the time. Wonderful staff. Food is excellent. Rooms are all refinished. Near the centre of all the shopping you will ever need.
• J (8/5): Good, if noisy at night - The staff and rooms were excellent. Room was large and very comfortable. The hotel was in a quieter part of Thamel and an excellent location. Except Sunday, the bar upstairs was quite noisy from 7 to 12, however. I would still stay there again. I was very tired everyday I came back and the beds were comfortable, but the noise might bother some.
• NG (10/5): In Thamel area where there are lots of happenings - The staff are very helpful. The supervisor personally came to the room to check the toilet flush. Arrange for a last minute request for taxi
• ねぱる (6/5): タメル地区の北側のホテル - 日本食レストラン桃太郎から少し北側に歩いた場所の雑居ビルの中にあるホテルです。レセプションは1階にあります。 停電対策もしてるというこのホテルは何度か停電になっても1分くらいで復活してました。 残念だったのはチェックアウトの前日にバスルームが水漏れしてた事とエアコンの暖房があまり効かなかった事です。 リビングルームには電気ストーブがありましたが。 部屋にはキッチンもついていてあと毎日2リットルの水が補充されていたのもとても助かりました。 スタッフは皆感じよくこのビルには警備員もいるので安心です。 ただ他の階にクラブがあるようでライブなども開催されてて夜は音楽がうるさく感じる方もいるかもしれません。
• ＨＷ (6/5): 観光地 - 停電しないと聞いていたので利用したのですが聞いた通りに停電しない また客室や通路など空間にゆとりがあるためゆっくりできた
• Scott (8/5): In the middle of all the action in Thamel - Hotel had nice clean and large rooms with a great breakfast. The Wifi was spotty and depended on your location as there were only two locations in the center upper and lower floors were you got a signal. Otherwise, the rooms were very comfortable for Kathmandu and you are literally right in the middle of many of the things near Thamel. The room A/C worked well and the power stayed on. Most rooms had a full mini kitchen with hot plates/microwave and fridge to use if you wanted to cook on your own. I do recommend bringing shower shoes and taking your showers later in the day as the water was very cold in the AM. We stayed two separate times while in Nepal and enjoyed both rooms. It's not the most modern or extravagant in Kathmandu but for the price you can't beat the location and breakfast. The staff was always especially helpful.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Hotel in Thamel - The suite was great but try to stay on the first floor because there is a night club on top of the second floor and if you need it to be quiet when you are trying to go to sleep you will need good ear plugs.
• Melissa Mieow (8/5): pleasant - the hotel was reasonable value for money and the staff were helpful. Quite clean (except for bathroom grouting, if you are worried about that kind of thing). Strangely excessive furniture as is common in mid/low level hotels in Nepal. Bit loud at night - single glazed windows and street noise reached the room. Included breakfast was boring (museli, tea and eggs) but adequate.
• SonnyCash (8/5): Strategically located for Thamel Shopping! - We used the hotel for one night for our tour onto Pokhara. It's situated right in the heart of the small roads in Thamel, which is a shoppers paradise. As soon as you step out of hotel you are greeted with many arts, crafts, jewellery, travel agents food etc. The hotel is deceiving from the outside and when you walk in the first few floors are like offices or shops. When you go to the rooms your are greeted by a brick/terracotta style theme. The hallways are scattered with god like images. The room was a suite with living room, kitchenette and bedroom. The bathroom had access from both the bedroom and living room! Breakfast in the "Coral reef restaurant" was slow. It was nicely decorated and the food was average.
• Stuart (8/5): - This hotel is an absolute luxury in Kathmandu and we stayed here a total of 4 nights. The rooms are spacious, clean, modern and of a very high standard although not all the features and utilities listed on this site are available (notably a microwave and DVD player). The restaurant is very nice with a fantastic view over Kathmandu. They serve a good western breakfast and offer a very good lunch and dinner menu. The only negatives are the views from our room (on to an alley) and the noise from the bar on the roof at night (didn't disturb us much but if you are higher than floor 3 I imagine it can be quite loud). This price we paid on hotels.com made Gaju Suite a bargain and would very much recommend it!
• Mo (8/5): Great place for short stay... - In the middle of Thamel great for shipping and eating. Lovely comfy bed, clean and modern bathroom, I would stay at this hotel again if I was even in Kathmandu The Reef bar is great for you night owls, live music and sheesha with friends, otherwise buy some ear plugs ! Genuine and friendly staff who coulldnt do enough for us. Great place.

• Francisco Octavio Rivera (8/5): Choose lower level rooms - The suite apartments are great with kitchen set, fridge, microwave etc.... I was not disappointed. Go for the 3rd floor, the music live bands are in the 5th floor.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Good hotel with some paste ZonaTamel - Good location, supermarket, spacious room with kitchen, very comfortable beds, the problem was with the air module not working and night temperatures fell much and the solution you got a heater was not long. Another problem was that every day had live music and was heard by all areas of the hotel.
• LAR (10/5): Surpassed expectations - Great value for money, and in a very central part of town. However, do note that during festive seasons, try to ask for a room far far away from the Reef bar/restaurant - the singing and music annoyed the heck out of me. Otherwise, very well recommended.

• Angie (4/5): Unfortunate - The location is good, but there is a restaurant on the top level that turns in to a live music bar at night. The music will keep you awake. I was in the shower, and the water ran out; the water just stopped mid-shower. I had shampoo in my hair, etc. I had to wait 10 minutes for water to start coming out of the shower again, but when it did start to come out, it was brown! Gross. Toilet paper was always scarce too. I don't know why they refused to leave an extra roll. Overall, it was bearable and not terrible, but I cannot recommend it to others.

• Khan (6/5): decent - Ok service, rooms were ok, comfortable large suite but dated and relatively clean to Kathmandu standards. Shower room and toilet just about ok. Breakfast poor. Good location! Overall rating 3. Chose this hotel after Tripadvisor reviews.
