- Max (1/5): Dirty, smelly and run down… - We were allowed to check in early. The hotel is very run down and dirty. When we got into our room it smelt of damp, the wallpaper was peeling off, there were blood stains on the bed and the floor had sticky marks on. The room had clearly not been cleaned. We went back to reception and asked to change rooms, they gave us another room straight away. However, when we got to the second room it was very similar. It smelt like damp, the bathroom and bedroom were very dirty and mouldy. We went back to reception and asked for a refund and left. I would not have felt comfortable sleeping here. I have no idea how this property has decent ratings. We are backpacking, and over nearly 7 months this is the first property we have had to leave as it was so run down and dirty.
