Guest Reviews
- Leroy (10/5): - Friendly welcoming staff and great service
- Luisa (10/5): - Love our staying, the staff was the best! Would stay here again
- Natália (10/5): - Quarto e cama bem confortável, silencioso e escuro pra dormir, bem localizado também.
- ALLAN (10/5): - Great upgrade to suite!
- Joseph (8/5): Nice Chiang Rai hotel for the price - Our stay at the Rasa Boutique Hotel in Chiang Rai was generally pleasant. The reception was friendly and efficient and less bureaucratic than some Thai hotels: We had two rooms, one for me and my wife and a second for my wife's sister and her young adult daughter, who arrived later. We were able to check into both rooms without needing to have everyone's ID copied. The hotel is slightly dated but is designed in a nice Moorish theme. The pool was easily accessible but did not appear to be that well maintained; quite a bit of small debris was floating in it, but that was a minot annoyance. Our rooms had no water pressure for the showers when we arrived, but after we alerted the front desk, maintenance people took care of the issue quickly. Breakfast buffet is adequate, but not fancy, though fresh brewed coffee was served. Our rooms were on the second floor, but there was no elevator. (Not bad for us, but a caveat for people needing accessibility.) One comment on printed information in the hotel description: The Chiang Rai night bazaar is described as being a "17-minute walk" from the hotel, when it's actually about three kilometers away, and you really need to take a cab. The King Meng Rai the Great Monument also is a bit more than the "2-minute walk" in the description. It's fairly close, but more like 8-10 minutes away!
- Earl (10/5): - Very friendly staff, good pool. Receptionist gave me tips on local restaurants and attractions. Rooms are nice, clean, thick pillows, hot showers.
Main complaint is the lack of attractions nearby, with most of the scenery 1km away.
- brooke (6/5): - For the price, I think there are much better hotels out there (I met folks staying in them, I was jealous!). The hotel was clean enough and common areas cute, but the room, especially the bathroom, felt old, tired and needing upgrades. The room was large, but with tiled floors, cheap sheets, a hard mattress, and only 2 pillows. It felt more like a motel. The bathroom was pretty rough (and older than what other reviews seem to picture) and minuscule. This is technically walkable to the center, but on a very busy commercial road and it’s not a nice walk, so the staff recommended I get a grab taxi. Cheap enough, but it’s not like location was a redeeming feature. The breakfast was fine but very basic, and if you are looking for a lovely continental breakfast this isn’t it (wonder bread and water melon was it on that front). Staff were kind but not so geared for recommendations etc. The photos looked nice, but I was bummed I spent three nights here.
- Emily (8/5): - Friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast buffet, funky pool, adequate rooms. Well-located in Chiang Rai to grab transportation to the major sites (White Temple, Blue Temple, night market and town area), and there is ample parking if you are driving to Chiang Rai. Our only compliant is that the walk to the night market area was a little dicey with lots of bigger roads to cross - OK for us as two adults, maybe not for others.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Pool was clean and staff were very attentive. 10 minutes walk to the centra area, plenty of parking.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location is not so convenient but it is ok if you have to rent a car.
- Dhiman (8/5): Rasa Stay - We stayed here for a night and the Hotel was good in every possible way.
- Alex (6/5): Strange - Quirky hotel in Moroccan style in the middle of Chiang Rai. The best thing was the pool. This hotel is on a very noisy main road and the walls are thin so you can hear other people speaking in their rooms. Breakfast was poor, eggs cold and not a big choice. It is 3 stories high with no elevator and the stairs are steep.Bathroom very cramped
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff is very sweet and helpful. The hotel is located walking distance to the market and clock tower. Many mosquitoes! Bring repellent!
- ARNON (6/5): - flush toilet not clean, Room looks fair, location is convenient to travel night market walking
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I ever came here before when the hotel just start everything so happy and staffs is so friendly. But this time is my 2nd times to come back. Every thing still good but it doesn’t meet my expectation. Some staffs is very friendly but someone just average. Anyway foods is very very good.
- Pieter (8/5): - Very focussed on English and Chinese speaking tourists. Swimming pool only has sun in morning until latest 4pm. Minibar is not free, although no message anywhere to warn.
- Rujjira (10/5): Hightly recommend, - It's feel like in luxury 5star hotel in Morocco. But in Chiangrai, Thailand . Amazing!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Cozy rooms that were clean but in need of updating. If you're tall watch out for low door frames. The breakfast buffet was good! A little off the main strip, was difficult to walk to at night due to poor street lighting.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice, but funny looking hotel. Rooms are comfortable, breakfast is ok
They have a swimmingpool too.
Conviently located near town centre and restaurants, but also near highway for going to White Temple and Black House.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - 一般
- Skinny (10/5): Good location, many parking space - Nice place to stay, close to convenient store, beautiful hotel
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a comfortable and pleasant stay with friendly staff and walkable to good restaurants
- Verified traveler (10/5): Loved it! - We really enjoyed our 4 day stay at the rasa boutique. It was a comfortable room, they had a pool which we used, the breakfast was great, and the staff were very helpful. We would definitely stay here again and it was a good location just around the corner is a 7-11 and a chicken stall that was good for an easy close meal. You can walk to a nearby area where tuks tuks hang out. The only negative would be that sometimes the hallway can be loud in the mornings and that could be an issue for some. Overall we loved this hotel!
- Virginia (8/5): Lovely staff and comfortable hotel - This is my third time staying at Rasa. They always do their best to make it a nice, enjoyable getaway.
It is a reasonablely priced, clean and comfortable hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location with big car parking
- Adrian (2/5): We checked out after a few hours. - Everything except the lobby was dirty and old. We did not even fit under the shower (we're around 1.80m tall), not that we wanted to take a shower there anyway...
We went shopping and thought maybe its just a bad first impression and we are overreacting but no one was feeling comfortable anyway, so we booked another hotel for the night and checked out.
- martin (6/5): 性價比合格酒店 - Overall speaking the standard of the hotel is normal
The facilities are old and i hve not seen anyone using the swimming pool and the lounge bar.
In addition the location of hotel is inconvenient as its 20 minutes away fron the downtown.
- C W (6/5): Very big pool, nice lobby - Very nice lobby which you can take a lot of beautiful photos. The pool is big but with some insects swimming with us. Room is tidy and clean.
- Ivan (8/5): Nice little hotel! - Pretty amazing hotel located in Chiangrai, the setup of the hotel was kind of middle-eastern feel. So once you stepped into it, you will feel transformed into another mystical world.
The hotel does not have lifts, if you need help with your luggage, the staff would be willing to help!
- Nattapong (8/5): Location THE Best // TV are Terrible - Location = 10 /10 point
TV = 2 /10 Point
Air-Con = 5 /10 Point
Swimming Pool = 8 /10 Point
Breakfast = 9 /10 Point
Clean = 7 /10 Point
OVER All 7.5 / 10 Point
- caroline (10/5): great coffee - a little far from the central area but the pool is beautiful, staff and coffee is great and rooms are clean!
- Nicole (10/5): An exotic hotel in the Northern Province - We (3 teachers) for a long weekend in May. The hotel is eclectic, exotic and surprising! We totally enjoyed our stay from the late night cocktails to the free breakfast to the warm, delicious brownies at tea time. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean and the beds!!! Don't get me started on how comfortable they are. If you are in Chiang Rai for a weekend, please stay at the Rasa Boutique, you will not regret your decision.
- Rebecca (8/5): Rasa hotel not to close to city center - The overall is Ok. But I found ants in my washroom.
- Emily (10/5): We loved this hotel! - We loved this hotel! The lobby, swimming pool and all of the sitting rooms are decorated so beautifully! The staff was so sweet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice friendly hotel - We had a lovely stay for 3 nights. Chiang Rai was very interesting and we were comfortable at the hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - it was amazing! very clean, amazing breakfast buffet, and the pool was so relaxing. Love the architecture and interior design as well!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We are very satisfied with our stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The decoration outside the room was so nice but in the room itself quite disappointing
- Nancy (10/5): Great stay at Rasa Boutique - Enjoyed my stay here for 3 nights. Breakfast was great and they even make you a real cappuccino or whichever coffee you like. The bar area is great in the evening to relax and enjoy happy hour from 5-7PM. I used the pool 3 times. It's a good size and a great way to beat the heat.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cute hotel, great staff. - Rasa's staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and room service was prompt and affordable. The hotel's location is within walking distance of local weekend markets. The entire hotels design and look is fun, quirky and delightful. Thanks Rasa!
- Shun Yuk (8/5): taxi to airport 150THB, white temple 250THB - Beautiful and romantic
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very pleasant stay - A pleasant, budget hotel with a great breakfast buffet, good wifi, and a pool large enough to swim laps.
- Michael (4/5): - Booked out early. Aft 1 night. They said they would notify u. And get credit back from u ???
- mary (10/5): Lovely traditional style hotel - All facilities apart from a room safe. Also no safes at reception. You have to give your cash/passports/valuables in at the desk in reception if you want the hotel to be responsible for them. They then put everything in an unlocked draw!!! Apart from that, couldn't fault this place or the staff who were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A pretty good option for Chiangrai - We originally had a room on the third floor but it was quite noisy. The hotel was full for the night but we were able to move to a room on the second floor the next night and it was much better. I agree that this hotel's strongest point is their service - they are very kind and try to be very accommodating. The wifi was spotty for us but we mentioned it when leaving one morning and there was a noticeable improvement when we returned in the evening. I only mention it in the review for someone who might depend on wifi for work purposes - perhaps just ask the hotel to place you in a room where the signal is very strong.
The bathrooms in both rooms we had were small and could use improving (touch up painting, etc. from moisture damage). This did not bother us as the rest of the rooms are very clean, and the beds are very comfortable with nice linens.
Breakfast was very good. There are many options to cater to everyone: Thai dishes, eggs, meats, salad, yogurt, cereal, toast, juices. Also specialty coffee drinks made to order.
The hotel decor is quirky and fun and we enjoyed staying here. The location was within walking distance to the Saturday night walking market which was a fun and memorable experience. Also, taxis in Chiangrai are metered and inexpensive.
- Linda (10/5): I would stay here again - The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The pool is clean and a nice size. I like that they also have a lounge area as well. My booking included a buffet breakfast but because I travelled in the off season there was no buffet. Instead I was served pretty much everything that would have been in a buffet. There was far too much food for me to eat and even some items I would not have chosen. They may want to just ask people what they want instead of wasting.
I was a little disappointed with the location however it was inexpensive to take a Tim tuck into town. I still think this hotel deserves my five star rating.
- Oliver (8/5): Quaint - This hotel defines boutique. It is fairly close to the centre of the town, about 10-15 minute walk. Nice hotel with good rooms, although they can be prone to insects.
- Natalie (8/5): Lovely hotel and staff - This hotel was great, as we are traveling round SE Asia, we decided to splurge a bit for my boyfriends birthday, when they found out, they sang happy birthday and gave him birthday waffles. The hotel itself has been beautifully decorated and the pool is lovely for a quick cool off in the heat. The only negative is that it is a little bit out of town, but hey just a bit extra exercise for us!
- Mike & Deb (10/5): Oasis of comfort and friendly service - We couldn't have chosen a better way to treat ourselves at the end of our 3 weeks around Thailand. The buildings and facilities are gorgeous and the restaurant and hotel staff were extremely friendly and professional.
- Elisa Mariana (6/5): Ok for the price - The hotel is quiet basic.. But I think that in Chiang Rai there are no great alternatives..
It doesn´t have elevator, the bathrooms are horrible, the breakfast is just ok..
But overall the hotel is friendly .. good for only one night..
- Julie Buse (10/5): Friendly Service - This hotel has beautiful decor lots of colour and interesting pieces of furniture. The staff are so friendly and helpful. It is a long walk to the centre of town but a taxi is very cheap so that is better to use them. Pool was clean and nice surroundings. We ate at the restaurant several times and the food was very good.Would highly recommend this hotel.
- soph (6/5): Nice hotel but noisey - The hotel is lovely, the reception and restaurant is certainly boutique style. However, the rooms are just standard and the bathroom has no seperate shower which makes it slippy.
As for the nights sleep, it wasn't great the aircon was so noisey and the hotel is on a main road so lots of traffic noise.
I did have a great stay overall, the food was fab and the pool was nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Service fit for royalty and beautiful hotel - Really enjoyed our stay at the Rasa Boutique, after travelling around North Thailand for 3 weeks and staying at many different places this was definitely the best value for money. Lovely, friendly staff and very interesting decor, the whole hotel is full of character. Very good quality (and cheap) accompanying restaurant and best of all a pool you can actually have a decent swim in. We would definitely stay here again.
- Kanokwan (10/5): 5 stars hotel!! - Very very nice staff, friendly and helpfully. I would be come back agian.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Friendly - Friendly and helpful staff, but for the price and location, you may want to consider other options. The breakfast will not amaze, unless you like processed foods from 7-11, and the beds are very small. The pool was freezing cold, and simply the location, not near anything, is perhaps not optimal for chiang rai, a small quaint city.
- Be Happy (6/5): Not so good location - Cheap hotel... you get what you pay for. Very hard bed, not so good bathrooms. The staf great!
- Mam (8/5): Nice hotel, near town and Airport. - Nice hotel and friendly staff, small bathroom but clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Stayed only one night and really loved it.
Design and decoration of the hotel was very unique which was great.
Room was beautifully decorated and clean. But toilet door was faulty.
Breakfast was quite good with variety of food and freshly brewed coffee on order.
The staff was very friendly and also helped us with dinner booking and information. The owner personally welcomed us when we checked in.
We would definitely stay there again on our next visit.
- Mags (10/5): I loved this hotel - I can't stress how helpful and friendly all of the hotel employees are towards guests. We stayed in Rasa hotel for three nights. They greet you with glass of juice. Room was modern and , but on smaller size, however that didn’t bother us at all. Every evening hotel staff provided us with mosquito device (just plug in and your room is mosquito protected). Breakfast is good, fresh coffee and tea are made for guests. There are two computers in the lobby which are free of charge to use. We used taxis to get around (and they are cheap-50BHT to get to Temple of Emerald Budda). The night market is just 10min away walking. The reception staff can give you hand outs about local points of interest. I absolutelly loved this hotel!
- theresa (10/5): Simple and happy - Rasa Boutique Chiang Rai.
Overall: Nicely decorated, clean and fresh.
Location: Just on the edge of the main town- 25-30 minute walk to the night Bazaar.
Transport: Taxis from airport are now regulated and a set price of 200 bahts for a oneway trip into town. Return journey cost 120 bahts on meter to airport.
Since it is the rainy season, we didn't get to do much. Flagged a Tuktuk to take us to the white temple and Doi Tung and back to hotel again for 300 baht. Spent 3 hours out.
Staff: Very courteous staff that were very helpful. Good level of spoken english.
Accessibility: Three floors and no lifts but their staff will take your luggage up to your room (and back down again)
Cleanliness: Clean and welcoming.
Decor: Attractive Thai decor that's modern and uncluttered.
Wifi: available in room and each floor has its own hub which keeps the connection strong.
Freebies: Free bottled water. Two apples on first day. A sweet drink at reception on check-in. Bathroom essentials.
Breakfast:A mix of western and eastern. Fresh orange juice and fruit.
Leisure facilities: Nicely lit outdoor pool.
Other: The cockerel started its call at 4am!
- CatManDo (6/5): 5 Star Service - 3 Star Hotel - I can't stress how helpful, courteous and friendly, all of the hotels employees were towards me. It's the building itself, where I have to go negative! The place simply has no charm or character.... it's just a sterile building. One of the strangest hotels I've ever stayed in! The toilet, commode, is in a room by itself, which isn't all that unusual - what is unusual is, there is no TP, not even a device to hold a roll! There is a box of Klenix provided. Then you have to walk about 40 feet, going thru two sets of doors, getting to the wash basin, where you can wash your hands! To operate the remote for the AC, you must stand under the unit, not out & away from it. The WiFi worked just fine. The breakfast was better than average. Unless you have a vehicle, lots of parking seemed to be provided, you'll be out & away from most things,
- Verified traveler (6/5): nice Arabic style - pleasant
- Raya (10/5): Trendy luxurious hotel with 5 start staff - The staff have treated us like kings the whole stay. The hotel is very spacious with interior design of modern culture, fancy plastic chandaliers, artwork of marylin monroe, and modern victorian furniture. The exterior and the rooms have indian and eastern design element mixed into spanish and western design. Overall, very coY. Its got corners that are quiet and romantic as well as social lounge. The location is great, being on the main road, and somewhat close to the river.
The only thing we didnt like was the food at the hotel. It seemed unfresh and reused, but i am not 100% sure and food in Chiang Rai is not that good anywhere else anyway.
I would definitely stay here again.
- S L Smith (8/5): Quirky decor, lovely staff. - The staff at the Rasa Boutique were lovely - good natured, polite, helpful. The hotel was decorated in a very quirky, designerish way, hence the 'Boutique' name, I presume. The bar area near the pool, with huge wicker basket-like chairs, was a nice touch, particularly for cocktails at night, under the stars. The pool was great - a good size & in attractive surroundings. Our room was a bit too small - not enough room to unpack cases comfortably, not enough space to put toiletries etc in bathroom. And the hotel is on an unattractive, busy road, but a short walk down the road takes you to the best Night Market we went to in Thailand! Overall, a good place to stay, because the hotel as a whole is spacious, & nicely designed, and the staff were so good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice ROOM., - Is very Nice ROOM., ^_^ !!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean, pleasant boutique hotel with nice pool - Very enjoyable stay, good value, very nice hotel with friendly staff
- Karyn (10/5): Beautiful European oasis in the middle of Thailand - This hotel is exceptional value for the price. The rooms are on the small size and the bathroom could be a lot bigger. It is very poky but the service and spotlessness make up for this 10 fold. The pictures on the internet represent the hotel 100%. James the manager is very good to deal with on the phone and in person & is responsible for all the deco which is very tasteful and elegant. It has a wonderful European, slightly indian feel to it which was a nice change for us as we are living in Thailand for a few months.
The staff were accommodating for any requests. The pool area is very relaxing and beautiful.
Overall it was a very enjoyable stay and I would definitely stay there again. I am actually going to be bringing groups of women from Australia and I will be choosing this hotel when we are in Chiang Rai.
