Guest Reviews
- ananth35 (8/5): Comfortable Hotel to stay in Varanasi. - Located not far from Kashi Vishwanath temple and Kala Bhairav temple, Buddha is a decent, clean and courteous Hotel.
Rooms are fairly large, with AC and other standard amenities like running hot eateries, etc. Lift is available. So also ample car parking.
Restaurant offers limited but freshly made and very tasty items like roti and subji as also lassi and cha as. The breakfast has ample spread covering corn flakes, bread, idly, poha, puri - baji, etc.
Travel desk in charge Anupam is very resourceful in arranging transport and related.

- Julie (5/5): Uncomfortable due to lack of cleanliness-shame as staff are nice! - Location good for travelling and staff pleasant and tried to accommodate requests The hotel needs refurbishing and cleaning. The room including the bathroom was dirty. The bedside mat looked like it hadn’t been cleaned ever. During the night there were guests shouting and banging doors ( this was just on one night) which was impossible to sleep through.

- 202snl (8/5): Advice everyone to stay here. It is in the heart of the city. - Stayed one night. Very nice for staying with family. Good sevice. Restaurant breakfast was also upto the mark. Best thing is there is no electricity problem. If there's load shedding Generator service is available twenty four hours. But at the time of load shedding AC will not be available. Car parking facility is always available in the compound.
- Dan (1/5): Bad - I can do quick checkout It located in quite scary area and you need to go through park with homeless people. The room was full of bugs since the window in bathroom cant be closed. The room was quite dirty and very old. No hot water in shower and toilet barely flushed
This is not at level of any western cheap motel.
Not sure who provided other reviews but seems in India its quite common to submit paid fake reviews

Excellent hospitality, Mr. Krishna is very good person who provide us complete city trip on our budget. Buffet breakfast is good and jain food options are also available here. I stayed there and I liked it very much. The most special thing is the staff there, the reception, the restaurant staff and the housekeeper. all staff behaviour good food quality travel desk service
- annelE1130DL (10/5): Book well in advance as the hotel is rightly very popular. - Hotel Buddha is one of the best hotels in holy pilgrimage city Varanasi located on main road. Heritage hotel with well-maintained and comfortable rooms. Easy walking distance to the main market of city. Restaurant inside hotel and I really like here all food and services. Travel desk also in hotel and provide best package. Thank you Mr. Krishna for your kindness and for looking after me so well. It felt like coming home.
- 76jasbirs (10/5): Strong air conditioning - We were travelled from USA , The hotel location is superb just 1.5 KM away for Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Everything closes by like temples and markets. Food is very good and well cooked for old age, great taste with very less oil. Wonderful experience here!!!!!!!! would love to be back again!!!!!!!!!
- ljU4248XF (10/5): An excellent time in kasi - We visited Varanasi in mid of month April 2024. This is very grand property and well maintained. We stayed in the superior double room. My room was spacious with a comfortable bed with a neat and clean bathroom, and a good balcony offering views of the garden. All food was delicious, and we enjoyed all every meal. Thanks...!! we would love to visit again.
- Passenger14797296578 (10/5): amazing service - I had a really good time there .Highly Recommended <3 Lovely Experience, Neat and clean rooms , great service.

- Explore67161453440 (10/5): Perfect bindaas - Stay was amazing..food was delicious and peaceful stay ..room cooling was supb and the staffs behaviour was amazing and decent specially front desk Amit sir .. overall great experience
- supriya7002 (10/5): Nice Room and Travel Package - I stay in hotel we loved the Hotel too much bcoz what we get it's not discribe in one word. We stay in family room and the family room was too big with 2 washroom with all aminities. And the second part we take Travel Package with tour Manager Mr Amit. Awesome service. I recommend to everyone please take family room if are in family
- Explore33000380049 (2/5): Horrible!!! DO NOT VISIT - We booked sight seeing for 2 days from this hotel. On the 1st day of the tour, during the boat ride, our boat stopped working (No other boats developed any problem, only our boat stopped working). The tour guide mentioned to us that the we were given a poor quality boat, that's why it's stopped working..No alternative boat came for us and thus 1 hour of our valuable time got wasted. Then due to this, we had to walk for more than 4 kms after reaching the Ghat with senior citizens with me, due to which they developed health problems...When we reported this to the hotel authorities, they behaved rudely with us and we also had to pay the entire amount for the 1st day of the tour...Charges are also extremely high (Rs 2500 for visiting 3 nearby places)..The staff in the hotel named Amit is extremely rude behaved!! He is the person who orgainsed this tour for us from the hotel...Room charges are very high..Breakfast food is of pathetic taste!!! DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!!!They are cheaters and money hungry people...
- Departure17433052988 (8/5): Decent and comfortable experience - A good stay with clean rooms and able staff. Have decent options of indian food on the menu, and okayish inclusive breakfast. Staff is extremely helpful (namely Ashish, Ajit and Amit). Mattress, AC, hot water available. Good quiet place in otherwise noisy city with close proximity to ghats
- senthamizhselvanm (8/5): Hotel Buddha - Good hotel to stay, very pleasant and silent.
The hotel staffs are good behaving and helpful. The guide associated with us showen all the places. ( IN particular the ganga arthi is one of the excellent watch from boat and the arrangement by the hotel is good. We had food at the restaurant as buffet which is good in particular a combined continental breakfast.
- Grant (7/5): My poor choice - Even with language barriers the staff willingly tied tried hard to make my stay confortable The hotel and room were 🦟 mosquito havens.
The food was unedible. I ordered a tomato soup and it came out transparent, and tasteless. The other dish was equally unedible.
The breakfast choice was very limited, no fruit for breakfast aside from toast there was nothing western on offer. No omelet etc.
- Amar2907 (10/5): Good Experience - Very good experience ..nice hotel in centre of the city...Deluxe rooms are bit small but have all the amenities, also ventilation in the room has been taken care..Breakfast was also very good...a special mention to Mr Santosh for his services at restaurant.
- DayTrip54883477150 (10/5): Great place for Varanasi stay - The hotel was a pleasant surprise and Ashish Dubey was a pleasant surprise. Krishna Singh ji also gave a pleasant surprise by keeping the kitchen open till 11 pm... Hoping for a great stay and a lot more help from Ashish Dubey.. Just a premium place to stay in Varanasi
- vijayavaradhanb (10/5): Hotel par excellence. - Hotel ambience is good. The rooms were clean, the linen were nice. The bell boys and reception staff were very courteous and helpful. The F&B Manager Mr. Jay Prakash's services were excellent. We were group of 22persons from Chennai. He would discuss the menu every day. In fact he allowed our people to prepare Rasam at the kitchen. His attitude was par excellence.
- 364anandd (10/5): Good stay - The stay was comfortable. Rooms are good. The staff is quite responsive and humble. The hotel can arrange for your tours in and around Kashi on chargeable basis. One can have their own itinerary. Accordingly the hotel tour desk shall arrange.
- 418sanskark (10/5): Feedback - "Hotel Buddha exceeds expectations with impeccable service, luxurious amenities, and exquisite cuisine. From elegant rooms to serene ambiance, it's a haven of comfort and tranquility. Highly recommended for an unforgettable stay and Good Facilities
- V (6/5): Pleasant - The arrangement of transport by the hotel for tours was appreciated. The breakfasts in the restaurant are extremely good, and the service is excellent. The general air of unease, shown by the personnel.
- Ikiryo (2/5): Very poor - I applied for a tour and got ripped off.
- G (6/5): Not satisfied - Only location. It’s not worth paying 4,200/- for such a small room Breakfast was very poor. No hot water in shower.
- Mousumi (10/5): Exceptional - Every thing is good 🙂
- Arindam (8/5): Very good -
- Patel (8/5): Okay for short stay - Good Staff Must be more cleaner linen and bathroom. Need hand towels and wash clothes.
- Patel (8/5): Okay to stay for one night - Staff People smoke in lobby by no smoking rooms
- Atul (10/5): - Poor supply of drinking water, tea bag milk
Good conditions of room
Food quality nice
- Sanjana (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sivarama (1/5): The worst hotel ever I stayed so far. - Nothing except the location easy access Everything, rooms are dirty, bedding is terrible, they didn’t change even after I asked them every day. Noise from all the corners of room, especially from street dogs, difficult to sleep. Staff are not polite at all, they attend only who spend more money on additional services. Breakfast is not good and the place to eat is dirty. Surprised that booking.com rating is 8 for this facility. It’s not worth more than 30% of what I have paid. I will never recommend this to anyone.
- Ashwani (2/5): - Hotel location is good near Vishwanath temple, but rooms are not good, there is no view on my room, windows covered because kitchen smell will come if open it, they have so many items in menu but you will not get most of the things.
- Akshat (8/5): Very good - Cozy ambience. Very helpful staff. Near Annapurna restaurant. Rooftop eating oprion is nice. New restaurant staff and management is still getting adjusted. Breakfast was not as expected.
- Akhilesh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jasra (9/5): Superb -
- Maryke (5/5): Passable - very expensive, not value for money at all.
- Madhumita (6/5): Hotel Buddha...cost too steep - The staff were courteous and extremely helpful. The hotel was very close to the temple and a good parking space. The single double bed had 2 mattresses instead of one. The breakfast was the same every day and it was cold. 32000 for 4 days with breakfast and parking, I feel was too steep a price for the facility and breakfast offered.
- Andrew (6/5): Good in parts - Comfortable beds and good ac Woken at 2am by someone saying our drain was blocked which it wasn’t they rang phone and hammered on the door , no idea if this was genuine or just trying to gain access. Reception had no clue in the morning. Also demanded cash rather than card at checkout meaning were delayed leaving for our flight causing check out anxiety
- Ramakrishna (7/5): It was a pleasant stay😊 - Cleanliness and away from dusty road None
- Grace (6/5): Nice hotel, Bad area - The hotel is good, staff were helpful and friendly. However, the area is not very good. It's about 25 minute drive to the river, a lot of tuk tuk drivers are unwilling to bring you. The area around the hotel was dodgy too.
- Sandhya (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Arunkumar (4/5): Disappointing -
- Anushka (5/5): A Decent Stay with Some Areas for Improvement - I recently had the opportunity to stay at Hotel Buddha, Varanasi, and I'd like to share my thoughts on the experience. Overall, the hotel's location proved to be quite advantageous, providing easy access to various attractions. The rooms were comfortable and satisfactory. However, there were a few aspects that warrant attention.
The hotel's location deserves commendation, as it offered convenient proximity to various spots of interest. This made exploring the city a breeze, allowing us to make the most of our time. The rooms were decent and provided a comfortable stay. Cleanliness and basic amenities were well taken care of.
On a positive note, the hotel managed transportation to and from the airport seamlessly. This aspect of our experience was well-handled, relieving any stress related to our arrival and departure. Yet, I must address the issue I encountered with the staff. At times, communication was a challenge, making it difficult to convey our concerns effectively. This hindered our experience, as it's important for the staff to understand and address guests' needs promptly and accurately. While the staff members were courteous, there seems to be room for improvement in training them to effectively interact and assist customers. It's not an isolated incident, as I observed similar issues with fellow guests during my stay.
- Dilip (8/5): Very good -
- Ranjan (1/5): Bad - The room is spacious but the bathrooms are very bad, having drainage odour, no soaps only hanging liquid soap and shampoo looks like before independence, zero maintenance, smart door lock is unsmart due to battery, wash basin water not flowing, water tabs look like not used more than a decades. This room is not worth ₹7650+GST 18%. Huge lack of maintenance. I will never go with booking.com
AC is malfunctioning, showing 16 but feels like 26, huge power cut, most 3rd class experience. Probably very few bookings are made in a year, zero maintenance. But they're charging a lot. I will never go with Booking.com
- Raghvendra (5/5): Passable - Staff was cooperative. One of the room AC didn't work. Changed room AC was also not good.
- Gopal (7/5): Good -
- Umang (5/5): Below average - The location The rooms… too costly forbtge services they provide
- Gerard (8/5): Excellent staff and a nice stay - Staff lovely and helpful Nothing
- Kerry (4/5): pics misleading, avoid - Room when eventually got one where do I begin! booked 2 double rooms with balcony. was shown to a double room with no window and twin room with no light. showed booking page to say what booked for and said no rooms with balcony. spent about an hour of limited time we had trying to resolve & eventually got one room with balcony. no English tv channels, and tv and safe didn’t work in the dungeon room. went for food and wasn’t any so had to go out which we didn’t want to do alone
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The hotel said they did not have my booking, despite having paid in full. It took some time to locate my booking.
The initial room I was given was next to a wall being jackhammered. It was small and dated.
I requested a room change. There was no room service. The website states the hotel is three star, but it does not compare to other three-star hotels I have stayed in.
I did not sleep well due to the noise and I did not feel safe. The only reason I stayed was because my booking was non-refundable. Even now I still question whether I would have been better off foregoing the money paid. I would not stay again and I would not recommend.
- Rajiv (7/5): Good -
- Kalyan (9/5): Superb -
- Arun (4/5): Disappointing - checkin staff behave bad , housekeep staff not trained what and how to talk , location of the hotel in side main road , and the travel path from main road to location smell very bad ,
- Shashi (8/5): On the whole our stay was comfortable and the staff were friendly and courteous - Its Cleaniness The first day of our stay was very bad because of the party that the hotel had arranged in their premises. They kept us awake almost the whole night because they were very noisy in dismantling the things. They had no regard to the guests staying in the hotel
- Anonymous (5/5): Passable -
- Madhusudhan (10/5): - Inside the hotel it is good. Staff is very friendly. There was this guide who’s name is Vicky who was very friendly and had many connections with the Kashi vishwanath temple pandits who can help to expedite the Darshan, but you are in your own to deal with pandits on the offerings you do because there is not set fees for anything.
I liked aloo parata deep fry in the complementary breakfast at the hotel. There Annapurna restaurant right behind the hotel where we had our dinners through out the stay. Hotel also arranged travels to Sangam. Overall this is better hotel given there are not many good hotels in the surrounding.
- Dayananda (6/5): Hotel is faraway from restaurants etc - Restaurant didn’t exist Location is surrounded by transport trucks ,parking ,
- Mala (5/5): Passable - Miserable location, noisy too
No proper restaurant. No sitting place at reception Approach to hotel was horribly unhygienic
- Sakshi (9/5): Exceptional great experience . - The staff members were really polite and helpful with a calm attitude. Everyone in this hotel was ready to guide you in creating your best trip. The food was exactly like home cooking made as per your choice and taste. Must try Vijay ji Chicken curry. They even helped us in getting the best Banarasi Sarees at a steal price from shops where it's actually crafted. The location is a bit inside and not exactly on the main road. But exceptional service overpowers this as well.
- Somnath (5/5): Our stay was quite pleasant mainly due to the support and service provided by the staff - Room amenities were as promised. Room had all the regular amenities such as mini refrigerator, split AC, flat TV, electric kettle etc. Attached bathroom had running hot and cold water, western commode (toilet), toiletries, clean towels, etc Housekeeping service was provided daily. There was intercom facility in the room, desk and a chair. Rooms were very small, hardly any place for two people to move in the room. The balcony was a misnomer. There was no satellite or cable TV. There was no sofa or seating area in the room. The room had no view. The room service menu was minimal, with whatever was listed not being available for most of our stay.
- Paula (7/5): Clean and quite - For me the most important thing about a hotel in a place like Varanasi is quiteness. Hotel Buddha was clean, with hot water (taking into account it was winter) and quite. Some people might thing is a little bit far from old city or Assi Ghat, but personally I prefered so, and if you are going to take a taxi or a tuk tuk anyway, it's not a problem. Maybe the bathroom was a little bit old
- Maitri (6/5): Pleasant - The food was very fresh and the location is perfect The reception staff and their attitude. It felt like we are staying at the property for free! Absolutely cold behavior.
- john (10/5): - Enjoyed service from hotel employees
- Garry (8/5): comfortable - hospitality location
- Yiannis (7/5): Good -
- Sujeet (1/5): Bad -
