Guest Reviews
- Angela (8/5): - I was welcomed with pristine paperwork, super helpful staff and organisation.
For the money, I had an exceptionally clean spacious room. And a hidden extra of breakfast in the room, a fridge with breakfast goodies. Fantastic location and a sea view. I will visit again. Thank you Bed a bit hard
- Em (7/5): - Friendly people, clean room, nice towels and very handy to have a few nibbles and drinks for the morning. It was a fabulous location, directly on the seafront and central to town. We had a lovely view directly to the sea and it was lush hearing the waves crash through the night. The hotel is very basic and the building feels like it needs a lot of work. It was also a shame the pub itself closed at 7pm.
- Elaine (5/5): - Cleanliness of the bedding. The building was dreary and shabby..
- Chris (10/5): Great few days away - Right on seafront and central to everything Everything was perfect
- Elaine (10/5): Excellent budget accommodation - Very clean, comfortable bed. Complimentary breakfast items which was amazing considering the price. We will definitely be back.
- Amanda (10/5): Great place to stay in Walton town! - Great location. Good pub right on the sea front with pool table. Near to all shops and pier. Lovely owners, very accomodating and friendly.
Good pub grub too!
Lovely to sit outside on a sunny day looking at the sea.
Beds were super comfy, sea view room was fab.
Will come and stay again! Everything was good.

- Michael (8/5): Unpretentious, comfy and convenient. - The location was perfect for the beach and town
It was a friendly welcome, Frankie sorted out the free parking for us.
The family room was spacious and had a fridge, which proved useful.
Despite the central location it was quiet at night. The addition of a microwave would have been helpful.
The breakfast items provided in the room were basic but plentiful - bottled water, milk, juice, cornflakes, yogurts, pain au chocolat, biscuits, tea and coffee.
However cooked or healthier breakfast options were available 5 minutes walk away in town.
- Guest (10/5): Pretty good all round - easy to find, friendly people greeted us at reception. Easy to come and go. Complimentary waters, breakfast and drink making facilities
- langfeldt (7/5): Lovely location in Walton. Newar the beach. Quiet. - The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff friendly. The breakfast that was left outside the room was not great. the pain au chocolats were the plastic wrapped kind and the yoghurts of a very cheap variety.
- Judith (8/5): Good value stay with friendly hosts -
- Andrew (10/5): Excellent - Nothing
- David (10/5): Excellent - Excellent I love Walton
- Merel (10/5): Mooi hotel, ligt direct aan de boulevard, met geweldig uitzicht op zee! -

- Tina (10/5): - Lovers location comfortable beds there was cereal and water and other things provided all for free would recommend staying there There was no lift as we were on the top floor difficult with children and suitcase but it's an old building so still great value for money
- Debbie (10/5): Perfect for our needs, pleasant stay - Great location
Friendly greeting
Free parking Noise from road during the night, but unavoidable due to location

- C (1/5): Bad - Discusting service, staff appalling. Dirty dindgy dive I will be posted else where to to make sure these discusting people don't Rob anyone else Discusting service
- Claire (9/5): Welcoming, friendly family break - We were well catered for, milk, juice, water had been provided as well as yoghurt and some breakfast pastries. A parking permit was given as soon as we arrived. The room was spacious, bathroom clean. We were informed of entry and exit door. Staff were very friendly and informative. N/A
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - Location, the room, facilities There was a smell in the room when we arrived - like a damp carpet smell
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb - On the seafront, breakfast items provided in room, comfy beds (children’s beds were standard singles, which is great for teens, and the room and bathroom were large and well equipped.
- Specialpk (8/5): Very good - Fantastic beach view from our room 10.
In room breakfast a nice surprise. Stairs a bit on the steep side.

- Llian (9/5): Superb - The beds were comfortable ,everywhere was clean and tidy.Staff was very friendly. Hairdryer in room would have been helpful.
The bar was shut by 7pm on a Saturday.

- Michelle (10/5): Staff really friendly, comfortable stay. - Really enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast options and table included in our room were a nice touch and meant we could feed our little one in the morning . Staff put themselves out to do us some food on the evening too, which was much appreciated. Nothing.
- Mowatt (5/5): Very basic - Location on the sea front was gra Rooms and the building in general although clean are in poor condition and could do with an overhaul( towels are wonderfully fluffy). Staff were friendly and helpful although not available out of hours.
- Anonymous (10/5): Friendly, super clean & lovely location - Great location and onsite car park (albeit limited but I managed to park all weekend) Lots of stairs ha
- Lynn (1/5): Bad - on arrival staff were not welcoming at all felt like it was to much trouble The couple that checked us in
- John (10/5): Relaxing and enjoyable. - Friendly reception and nothing too much trouble. No
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Louise (9/5): Lovely stay. - The bathroom was lovely, beds comfortable room big. The couple couldn't do enough for us. The beer garden and shrimp shack was lovely. The view overlooking the sea made it perfect. The breakfast was basic and could've been better but there enough. We were moved for safety due to the stair upto the bathroom in the sea view room. Which was a good and but unfortunate. The staircase up to the room was wide with hand rails, there is no lift though.
- Anonymous (7/5): Good - Friendly host
Clean quiet room and hotel - with at least one other person there
Nice walk along the coast in the evening, quiet enough that I saw a deer. Overpriced compared to similar accommodation.
I had expected that I had booked the last room and was competing with holiday makers
What I found was an empty ghost town, everything on the seafront was shut, which was a surprise in June.
- John (6/5): Pleasant -
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (10/5): Excellent -

- Anonymous (5/5): Bleak but comfortable not a place to spend a minute longer than needed. - Was clean & bed comfortable Environment is bleak & ugly. The owner was rude & intimidating.
- Morgan (8/5): Decent location in a fading pile - Spacious room A little overpriced for what is a crumbling old hotel
- Matthew (7/5): Good - everything
friendly staff
compfy beds
amazing shower
can't fault anything we liked everything about this hotel
- Lesley (10/5): Had a great weekend - Great location very friendly
- Tamasine (10/5): Overall great stay - Great location, room and bathroom was lovely. Bonus was the complimentary items as well as the shower gel which felt and smelt great. Very pleased overall We had two cars but only one allowed in parking space so my partner wasn’t told there is one space only as I had to turn up later!
- Steve (9/5): Superb - Very comfortable with numerous thoughtful details such as breakfast products including pain au chocolat and corn flakes provided. Cleanliness was exemplary. Immaculate fridge containing fresh milk and bottled water.
Very comfortable bed. Very friendly staff. We would definitely stay again. Rather rough edges on the headboard. No bedside table on one side. But I emphasise these are mere details.

- Breda (8/5): Very good -
- Joanne (8/5): Friendly hosts - Very friendly hosts who helped with car parking and carried my bags upstairs. Breakfast provided in room was better then other comparable hotels. I stayed Sunday night and hotel seemed very quiet so got a good night's sleep.
- Sue (8/5): Very good - Very helpful accommodating staff couldn’t do enough for you
- Mark (8/5): Great location on seafront - Great location on the seafront if you’re attending an event at the Columbine Centre. Large room. Breakfast ingredients and mineral water in the room. Free parking for a few cars.
- Nick (9/5): Superb -
- Joan (9/5): All very nice - Perfect location
- Simon (9/5): Superb -
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (6/5): clean and tidy with a nice view - Great location, nice touch with breakfast bits left out, all very clean. Good WiFi and great shower. bathroom was up steep steps which could be a bit tricky.
- Vivien (7/5): we enjoyed our stay and would probably come back. - Good sized bedroom and comfortable bed. Shower very small and toilet seat a bit loose. It just needs a bit of a face lift but clean and comfortable and value for money.
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Deborah (8/5): Very good -
- Tiena (9/5): Easy stay room was fine clean bathroom up a steep flight of stairs little bit over priced as didn’t get hit breakfast bu - Location was great right on beach Stairs up to the shower room

- Sunny (10/5): Exceptional - There was no breakfast but in the room, there was some cereal, biscuits etc...
- Vikki (2/5): Very poor -
- George (6/5): We only booked for one night and found the staff both friendly and helpful. All in all the price we paid was fair and ha - Location was excellent. Close to the beach and the pier and close to the shops and restaurants. Bit run down and the bar and food were not available after 7pm
- Lee (9/5): All good apart from smell between main entrance and Rooms (inside room ok) - Location ,staff ,access Only issue was the smell from the entrance to the rooms(toilet /drains smell)
- Louise (4/5): Great location but needs a good clean - The B&B is in an excellent location for the wonderful beach and high street. Also has free parking if you're lucky. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Cereal, pastries, milk, yoghurt, tea/coffee, water and orange juice were plentiful. Unfortunately our room was not very clean. The bathroom needs a good scrub as do all the surfaces in the room itself. Also the fridge inside and out. The cutlery we were given was also not very clean and I had to wash it all so we could have breakfast.
We would have complained, but as only 1 member of staff was on duty we didn't feel we would get anywhere.
Our past visits have been much more positive so it's a shame to have experienced this.
- Tonina (9/5): Fantastic find - Clean room. Pleasant staff. Close to everything and right opposite the beach. I would definitely stay there again N/A
- Collins (8/5): Very good -
- Lee (8/5): Lovely stay - Location is excellent. Water, milk, cereal, yoghurts and pastries left daily which is a nice touch. Nothing! Good value for money
- Manning (7/5): Good - Lovely spacious and clean room. Comfortable beds.
- Michael (8/5): Definitely stay again and recommend to others - Location was perfect, had beach right infront of us, swimming pool around the corner and a short drive from clacton.
Breakfast was provided too. We didn’t get any shower gel and only one toilet roll however we could’ve asked for some earlier on but realised when it was too late (hotel above a pub so no reception)
- Debbie (7/5): Good - This is a basic pub/Hotel no frills but clean, and a nice touch was fridge in room with milk. Tea coffee orange juice and yogurts cornflakes biscuits and pastrys.
If you are happy with a clean basic room at a reasonable price then go for it.
- Suzanne (6/5): Pleasant - Convenient location, parking on site. Bedding and towels good quality.
Good breakfast supplies and fridge in the room Building and decor felt tired.
- Jodie (5/5): Passable -
- Rebecca (3/5): Walton on the Naze doesn’t want your money so don’t go there. - It was on the seafront The staff that greeted us didn’t smile. The room wasn’t clean enough. Skirting and walls dirty. Not enough bowls and cutlery for 4 of us. Had to ask for more toilet roll. No soap, only hand sanitizer. Pub shut at 8.
- Dean (8/5): Perfect base to stay with great location - Beachfront location, popular and busy pub, quiet rooms with separate access from pub… room was clean with free continental breakfast in room but not enough cereal for 4 people as we travelled as a family of four but as this was free, cannot complain. Family room was spacious, basic but perfect for what we needed. Would return No aircon
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional -
