He gave us wonderful recommendations for restaurants and told us about the free museum in the train yard. We have been to Durango at least 10 times and never knew about the museum. We bought breakfast at hotel and it was a good value. Would come back again

Always kept a smile and had great attitude and respect, funny and welcoming. I had some trouble with the dryer machine and she was quick to help and find a solution to my problem. Breakfast was a joke and this hotel has went through "upgrades" but I haven't seen any improvements since last time I was here 3 years ago. The lost some all star staff members that really went out of their way to make our stay special last time I was here. Our car wouldn't start and needed a jump start and between the front desk staff and maintenance, they had our car up and going quickly. Unfortunately we had to buy a new battery but they were very prompt and polite last stay. I will never forget Hazel and she was the best and made you feel right at home. New management seems to want to nickle and dime you for everything like parking and breakfast that tastes like cardboard.

• louisn964 (10/5): A great stay. - We were with a group that stayed here for a reunion. The staff was great, management superb. An event room was reserved for our group to socialize every day. Housekeeping staff went out of their way to meet our needs. The rooms were extremely comfortable. There was a breakfast buffet beyond what you usually expect at a hotel. The only issue we had was location the entrance to the property, it is almost camouflaged by trees.
• lily (5/5): For over $300. for one night, not worth it - Not worth $10. The building materials for the rooms were so cheap. The furniture looked like a Big Lots supplied the cardboard furniture. The room was not insulated well. Our bed was in a corner and the TV was on the middle of the wall.

• Steve (6/5): - Overall, it was fine. Specifically, I was disappointed to discover this hotel charges $10 a night for parking, and $10 for breakfast. This is in addition to the $40 charge added to your cost for the taxes and fees assessed by the city of Durango. My $217 room wasn't as good a deal as I thought it would be. The toilet in my room had a disgusting urine/feces residue left on the front of the toilet, right on the front. It was OBVIOUS as soon as i walked into the bathroom. There was also a hairball in the bathtub when I arrived. The toiletries in the shower have a tamper resistant rack that prevents guests from messing with the products. The rack was unlocked and the metal bracket fell off and whacked me in the foot during my shower. I didn't use the provided shampoo and conditioner since the bottles have obviously been accessible and could have been contaminated by prior guests. The headboard on my bed had a substantial layer of dust on top of it. It wasn't just missed by houskeeping between guests. It appeared to have been untouched and collecting dust for a long time. I come to Durango at least six times a year for business and have stayed in most of the hotels in town. This hotel is the only one that has ever charged me for parking. Find another hotel.

Literally just being in this hotel for an hour, our 5 year old's feet were completely black by how dirty these floors were. Also we stayed for 2 nights and I understand maid service isn't automatic until you stay 3 nights but we were told we could request more coffee, trash service and clean towels. I went down to the front desk and asked for these things but they were never brought up. Also we paid for the breakfast but a lot of it was completely inedible. I mean, it's gross hotel buffet food but at least most places it's free. To PAY for gross hotel buffet food was ridiculous. We will not be staying here again next time we're in Durango.

• Jude (2/5): - I checked in and for a room on the second floor. I immediately noticed that all the surfaces in the room were dirty. The floor hadn't even been swept, and there were stains from soda, dirt, mud, and crumbs on the floor. The toilet still had fecal matter on the bottom and around the rim of the toilet. I called the front desk and asked to switch rooms. There was only one other room available, so I was switched to the ground floor. To my surprise, the floor was completely dirty and it had stains all over. To top it all off, there were ants crawling all over the floor. I called the front desk and they said there were no other rooms available and they couldn't even refund my money because I had paid through Expedia and not the hotel. The whole experience was awful. I doubt anything was even cleaned in either room except the beds made.

They need to train their housekeepers to clean them much better since this is a dog friendly hotel. Other than this issue, which made our daugher's allergies bad for one day, the hotel is a good place to stay in Durango.

Not the case they charge for parking and a hotel beautification charge. I have never heard of a charge of this kind. The room was clean but the bathroom was set up odd. The bedroom was separate from the “living room”, which was really nice when one of us wanted to sleep while the other was awake. The AC was great. Even better was the $5 made-to-order omelets! Charity makes the best omelets I’ve ever had! It’s on a busy road, but still a short-ish walk into the downtown area. It would have been nice to have been located on the other side of the river.

• Katie (6/5): - This was a convenient location. The staff seemed pretty nice and efficient. The room was dirty though. There was a very potent room deodorizer that was hard to tolerate. The showerhead was absolutely terrible.

• Christie (6/5): - The room had vinyl flooring and was so dirty! My son was playing in the floor with hot wheels and his hands were black from dirt in just a few minutes! Maid services didn’t come one day at all! They advertised washer and dryer but none of them were working.

• Lucyelain (2/5): I don’t get this trend to accommodate pets in hotels. - Two dogs in same room left unattended and barking incessantly just several doors down from us. This went on for close to two hours. Only one person at front desk. She came up to hear them and knocked on the door. She said she called the owners and no one answered the phone. I like dogs, but I don’t like dogs in a hotel I’m staying at.
