Guest Reviews
- Federica (10/5): - La disponibilità dello staff
- Malek (7/5): It was a good experience, many thanks . - The hotel is very nice, well maintained, and offers good service. The breakfast is also very good. Location is great, about 5 minutes walking distance from the old market. If you consider travelling with car, the parking area is quite far away. You need to contact the reception so they can bring your car to a closer location, which is about 300 meters from the riad. However, you are not allowed to park there.
Also, there is no reception in this riad. The reception is located at Dar tazi. You have to contact them via WhatsApp or go there to speak with the reception, which is about 200 meters away.
- rodrigo (5/5): Básico y habitaciones normales . Baños regulares -
- rachel (8/5): Prima verblijf! - Prima 👌🏽 Niet echt iets

- Amilcar (10/5): Nice stay in a charming and super clean Riad, with an extremely pleasant and friendly staff. - Beautiful, clean and cozy. The room was exactly as shown in the photos. The staff is super nice. Jihane at the reception was particularly helpful with every single aspect of our stay in the Riad and every single aspect of our experience in Fez. The room was a bit damp/humid. Might just be the time of the year. We did have windows though, which helped.

- Tokoro (8/5): 5 Star Cultural Experience - This Riad presents a real cultural feel for Fes (Morocco). The staff were very polite and friendly. Bouchra at Reception, Fatiha (Housekeeping) and Anwar (Conceige) looked after us and made sure we were comfortable all through our stay. We could not ask for anymore. 5 star service all round.
The roof top restaurants (Breakfast and Main) were a lovely touch and presented a lovely overview of the Medina. Food was lovely and reasonably priced.
The location of the Riad is perfect for the Medina (it is literally adjacent to it). Also the Riad is at the central junction of the Old Town where most people will meet yp for their tour guides into the Medina.
We will definitely stay here again.

- Alaa (10/5): - - Staff was very helpful and responsive.
- Location in the middle of the old city.
- Breakfast and service were very nice.

- laique ahmed aijaz (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay here . Jihane and the team took great care of us . We were met with kind smiles and were show - Great location , great staff , valet parking , nice and clean
- Ibrahim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zachary (4/5): Very disappointing--only stay if this is very cheap or your only option. - The staff was very kind, and the sister property is very nice. My significant other and I got food poisoning from their breakfast. Also, the pictures of the rooftop area with the flowers is deceiving because it wasn't actually in the Riad. It was in the sister property which is a pretty far walk away.
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrei (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast was nice and the location was great, the rooftop of the building. The rooms are very dark, which is nice if you like that, but they have no windows, which is to be expected for the location and style
- Ekaterina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paolo (2/5): Terrible experience - very chaotic organization. The cleaning lady keeps the rooms clean but just outside it is really a mess. Very noisy area and do not take the guides recommended by the hotel because they do everything to rip you off
- Ema (10/5): Beautiful and luxurious accommodation, in the city center, great accessibility, friendly service. - Absolutely perfect location and luxurious accommodation in the city center. Great accessibility Breakfast was delicious, great service.
- Alexandru (8/5): Very good -
- Traveler23618896277 (2/5): WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY - very bad experience from A to Z NEVER GO BACK DIRTY PLACE THE REALITY ITS TOTALY DIFFERNT OF WHAT YOU SEE ONLINE THE WHOLE EXPERINCE WAS BAD AFTER 2 DAYS I HAD TO TAKE MY FAMILY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE ALSO I LOST ALL THE MONEY I PAID FOR MY STAY COULDNT GET THE MONEY BACK
- johnds170 (2/5): horrible experience - horrible experience was my first time and will be the last for sure stay away. if you looking to spend time with friends or family this is not the place all group of dishonest people they look just for your money service was very poor located in dirty area all what you see in the pictures is fake nothing looks like stay far from this place you ll save time and money
- Ibrahim (10/5): Exceptional - Parking around is far
- E4699EEbrendat (2/5): The worst hotel experience you can have - The worst experience I ever had group of scammers they show different pictures on their website and they take you somewhere else please stay away from this place they will ruined your vacation it’s a waste of time and money I had the worst experience bringing my wife and my kids we had to leave the place and go somewhere else
- tarik (2/5): - Stay away from this place is a big scam they show different pictures on the website than they take you somewhere else stuff are dishonest place dirty… don’t waste your time and your money the worst experience I ever had
- Muataz (7/5): Good - the room plus the breakfast the location was really diffcult to find .
- Michael (8/5): Very good - The cleaning and kitchen staff were amazing. They prepared great breakfasts and were incredibly friendly. The Riad was very quiet and quite comfortable. We were conveniently located on the top floor (staff took care of carrying our luggage up 3 floors) immediately beside the terrasse where breakfast is served. Check in was confusing. The instructions 'suggested' calling the property if arriving by automobile. It was not clear that check in needed to be done at the lobby of the sister property 'Palais de Fes' that was nearby (and definitely not next door). As non-residents of Fes we ended up lost in the neighbourhood the Riad was located in.
- Urška (10/5): Exceptional - Unforgettable experience in beautiful traditional riad located in the perifery of the medina. The rooftop has amazing view, also breakfast was excellent and the most abundant we had on our trip. All the staff at riad were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Bouchra, who provided us with all the crucial information ragarding arrival, luggage and valet parking. Have to mention that check-in is done at one of their affiliated hotels, then the staff will take you to the riad, to avoid getting lost in the medina. I highly recommend!
- Sherin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paradise57428681119 (4/5): Horrible hotel - staff member yelled at us - This hotel is not worth the price. I don’t know how it has good recommendations. The WiFi doesn’t work. There is no 24h reception as promised - it’s in another hotel nearby. There is no restaurant as promised. The bed is too short (and we are not that tall) and too hard. The bathroom smells a lot and is placed right next to the bed. Our room did not look like the pictures on booking.com. There is no room service or mini bar - they don’t provide a single bottle of water. It was impossible for us to get in contact with the hotel the day of our arrival - we called them and emailed them, but they didn’t answer until after we had arrived. We had to find another driver, and when we arrived, a man who worked at the hotel got mad at us for not waiting for their driver - but we had no way of knowing they would send us one as they hadn’t picked up the phone or texted us. It of course made us very uncomfortable that a staff member yelled at us. The cleaning is great, though, and the rest of the staff were very friendly. This hotel should be regarded as a two-star hotel.
- Signe (3/5): Disappointing and uncomfortable tourist trap - The cleaning is good, and most of the staff were friendly. It of course made us very uncomfortable that a staff member yelled at us. The vibe is just off, and the hotel feels empty.
- Maria (9/5): Superb -
- Derk (10/5): Amazing rooms with very nice and helpful personnel - Very friendly personnel! Hicham and Bouchra were very nice and helpful and can help you with anything in Fez. The breakfast was delicious. The rooms are also very good and neat. Can definitely recommend Nothing
- Kuntz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Niamh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Haseeb (8/5): Very good -
- Lesley (10/5): Gorgeous and beautiful - Exceptional staff in a stunning hotel.
My partner was unwell when we were there and they took such good care of us, I will never forget their kindness
- Faisal (6/5): Pleasant -
- Dr (10/5): live like a moroccan medina king - amazing property....very moroccan.....very medinaish all good
- Ilaria (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (5/5): my stay in the riade was not comfortable because in the morning we couldn't sleep there was a lot of noise in the co - the room was clean breakfast was not good and not much choice
- Cyrus (9/5): Superb -
- Daniela (8/5): Good but need some easy improvements - The Riad is very beautiful. Our room was very nice.
The terrace were breakfast ia served is so good, the breakfast then is even better. The staff on breakfast were super friendly. They clean the room and change towels. The start of our stay wasnt great, as many reviews here say, the location on googlemaps is wrong. We got lost in the medina with our luggage while a lot of people were harassing us. The riad itself is in an ok location, but we got lost going further away from the touristic area which didnt feel that safe. I think the riad should be proactive on this and tell the guests exactly how to arrive.
Our key had a trick to work, which no one explained to us, so we had problem trying opening the dooor. We knocked but no one answered. After a while we managed.
The AC wasn working properly.
- Johannes (10/5): Majestic stay in a great hotel - - breakfast
- breakfast on the roof
- very kind employees
- interior hotel (former palace)
- shuttle service from/to airport
- excursion to Melilia near Nador.
- nearby the Medina
- super clean room - nothing to complain!
- Yusser (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bega (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jade (10/5): Exceptional - A beautiful quaint riad, in a great central location. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Khitam, Fatiha, Hicham. The terrace has beautiful views. We really enjoyed our stay.
- Marina (8/5): Very good -
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Toka (8/5): Very good -
- Christine (8/5): fantastic! - Riad was gorgeous and staff were very helpful especially the two women who served us breakfast! only disappointment was that the Riad advertised as having a gym/fitness centre which was not the case.
- Ayoub (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amita (5/5): Passable - Cute and cozy Difficult to get to it, small room, small bathroom
- Laura (10/5): The staff were very pleasant and hospitable! - We had to leave too early during our days to enjoy the seated breakfast but the lovely staff packed us a go bag each time, of breakfast items to take with us. It was delicious! We didn’t have any issues or concerns with this hotel :)
- Ana (9/5): Super nice staff. good value for money - The Riad is pretty and the staff are super nice and accomodating. They upgraded me when there is a free room available. Full meal breakfast with omelet yum. Breakfast is at the rooftop and you can stay by the patio and take pics of Fez. On my last they they prepared to go breakfast for me. And when i have questions they go with me. they said its hard to find at first but just call them and they will pick you up by the cinema. I was travelling alone and the staff made me feel at home. The wifi is strong when you are in the center of the Riad. Goes weaker as you are in your room. They referred me to a guide who I realized overcharged me and brought me to places to be pushed to buy. I hope they give feedback to the guide.
- Jeremy (9/5): Superb - Amazing decor Difficult to find
- Maria (9/5): Superb - Excellent room Lobby decoration. They do not accept credit cards which is very complicated
- Jonas (10/5): Exceptional - Google map is uncorrect and the hotel don't want to correct this.
- Norijah (8/5): Very good -
- Valerie (6/5): we had really strong feelings throughout the stay and long after it, but the food was good, and it was clean though. - the terrasse was nice Well, at the beginning, location what booking shows on a map isn’t real. Riad is located on the other side of “main” street. when you go by car, it tells you to go to the gate of the old city, but there is nowhere to park, some random guy immediately takes you, tells you where to park for like an hour, tells you to show him your hotel a take you there. BUT on the way there are no signs of this riad, and when we get there there was nobody, only one closed door in the middle of a dark alley. it looks really suspicious (because when you look on the map, it shows the road in another part of the city!). It took about 15 minutes before somebody shows up.
When we get our rooms, we had to go back a park our car somewhere else, about 15min away, that random guy told us some stuff about how he doesn’t like making money on tourist, pointed on every other guy and tells us how they want commissions for everything and at the end he ended up with 100 MAD, because 50. wasn’t enough, because ‘he does it for his children’. I’m not saying it because of the money, but because of the approach.
Our rooms were located in the lobby, in which somebody sleep throug the nigh… it was really uncomfortable. we didn’t get any key and the staff was not in the riad all the time, so we couldn’t go out in the evening for dinner, somebody had to stay in riad to let others in. Same happened the next day, but through the day we at least called that we’re outside the riad to let us in.. the whole stay had a weird feeling, we were really disappointed..
- Paula1404 (1/5): Bad -
- Alaa (10/5): Super nice stay in Fes... - The stuff and the mangment
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jade (10/5): Beautiful - Beautiful rooms and terrace, with amazing service from all the staff team.
- Sara (10/5): Exceptional - The staff here was so friendly, especially the women on the staff who did the cooking and cleaning. The breakfast was amazing and they always showed an interest in making sure that I was comfortable. In addition to that, the gentlemen who worked there kindly walked me to dinner in the evening so that I wouldn't have to walk alone in the medina at night.
- Michele (8/5): Fabulous Fez - Loved the rooftop for breakfast and I was often there for sunset (call to prayer) before heading out for the evening. Great view. Staff were very friendly and so helpful, I felt well looked after. Rooms were beautifully decorated and cosy. Location is actually very convenient once you get used to the different routes through the Medina. I had a fabulous week on my own here during Ramadan both in and out of the Riad! Advice for visitors to get your airport taxi to call the Riad for the best place to drop off. Riad Staff came to meet me and helped me find the accommodation. Also download Maps.me to help you navigate through the Medina to the accommodation. Understand this is a traditional Riad with an internal courtyard so you will hear other guests and staff come and go... bring earplugs if you're noise sensitive.
- Chris (10/5): Beautiful rooms, stunning design, great location, wonderful service. - The absolutely gorgeous room. Stunning design. The mosaic tile work on every single surface throughout the entire Riad was just breathtaking. customer service was extremely responsive, arranged airport, transportation, easily, even a driver for the day when I wanted to take an excursion, and also arranged a member of the hotel staff to help me with my luggage from the ride through the Medina to meet my driver. Fantastic service. The friendly and eager staff was at times a little… over attentive? several times I was disturbed from rest or some valued alone time by different staff members knocking on my door, asking this, offering that and it was just a little bit frustrating when I wanted to not be disturbed (no DND signage offered). At breakfast each day an attendant was assigned to help serve my meal, and then sat at a table adjacent to mine. Just silently sitting there observing so she could be ready to refill my beverage. It was nice but also a little bit too much when I just wanted to relax. on my first night, the Riad host insisted that he lead me to a good place for dinner. I politely declined, but he truly insisted, so once again, I was disturbed while in my room, and brought to an extremely fancy, over priced gourmet dining restaurant that presented prefixed menus. again, I appreciate it the courteous gestures, but sometimes they just felt a little too inconsistent and bothersome.
- Carmella (5/5): Riad was great but bad experience due to the one staff member. - the room was really nice and beautiful. most of the staff were friendly especially the female staff. the terrace was really nice. first off they didn’t respond to any of our messages prior to check-in. second, the location on google maps is very inaccurate and it took us over an hour with help from many locals to find the Riad, none of the locals had any idea of where it was located. most riads have many signs for the property to be able to find it easier but this one has only one. the guy that took care of the riad, Hicham, was extremely rude, confrontational, no language skills even though we speak multiple languages. he made us feel uncomfortable multiple times and unfortunately because of him I would not recommend staying here.
- Gail (8/5): Super busy and lovely to come back to the cosyness of the riad. - Beautiful decor… felt like being in a palace. Roof top area with good views. missed a water feature.
- Marie (8/5): great stay for a night in fez! - the staff was amazing! the shower didn’t have a normal standard so it was a bit uncomfortable as we needed to hold it in our hands to prevent the whole bathroom getting wet
- Forest (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect place for me. It was spacious, had a beautiful terrace with amazing views. The staff was great and I loved all the wood and plants. Wonderful breakfast included. La Maison Verte is my first 10 on this trip! A bit hard to find as the Google maps location was different than the actual location.
- Cheryl (8/5): Very good -
- Donald (8/5): Good accommodation, excellent breakfast, good service - Very dedicated staff. Beautiful rooms. Good breakfast. The common area was less nice than at many of the roads
- Rachel (8/5): Great location and nice team - Great location and hospitality. Very kind staff who jumped in to help with some issues we had on our first night. Really let us use the terrace like it was our home. Delicious breakfast! Location puts you just outside the madness and to a few restaurants where you don't have to enter the winding roads of the medina. Unfortunately our first night the AC did not work in our room, but we were changed to a different room. The new room put us farther away from the router, so WIFI was not accessible, so we had to sit outside to contact family.
- Rachel (10/5): Lovely place to stay, amazing breakfast, wonderful staff - Lovely and charming riad, just as the photos show-- so much character and charm!
The staff was incredible-- so friendly, helpful, above and beyond! Several times they would physically walk us to the location we were asking about (restaurant, city gate, etc.)-- so kind! Gave us great advice and so helpful.
Amazing breakfast on the roof (and also enjoyed dinner in the "sister" hotel down the street)---- so delicious and so much food! And they even packed us a little "to go back" for breakfast the day we were leaving!
Great location, walking distance from the city center and all we wanted to see. We were on the 2nd floor and yet still got a bit of city noise, folks yelling in the night (I think because it was it was a holiday when we were there and there was partying going on).
The AC was wonderful in night 1 but had some trouble night 2.
(also just note-- where google maps says it is, is NOT where it is, and it is down a pedestrian-only street. I'm VERY glad we had the riad arrange pickup for us from the train station and then they met us at the car... if we had just taken a taxi, we would've been so lost).
- Shaszeks (10/5): Best place accomodation we've had in Morocco 🇲🇦 in a very reasonable price, it also comes with a vegetarian breakfast! - What you see in the photos on booking websites are all true! And maybe even prettier, the accommodation itself gives you this Moroccoan experience already, the staff are friendly too, it seemed like it is run by a family, not sure though. Would definitely stay here again!
- 565garyn (2/5): Beautiful riad but with dishonest staff who is VERY GOOD at SCAMS!!!!! - Generally, the riad is beautiful. Staff, especially female staff, is extremely friendly and accommodating.
However, the male staff is not honest. For example, they helped us arrange a 100 dirham taxi to CTM bus station, but the driver asked for 150, so we called the riad for clarification. It is so disappointing that the male staff collaborates with the driver and insists the price is 150. We thought people from the riad were at least honest about pricing, but it absolutely ruined our whole experience with the riad.
Moreover, the male riad staff saw us on the street and offered us directions to the tannery. He personally led the walk and handed over us to one of his "friends" (or "scam partner") . He led us to the direction which was different from what google map showed us. Luckily we left in the midway or we might end up in another scam.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Riad très bien placé. Personnel Chaleureux. Beau petit déjeuner Chambre très sombre. Punaises de lit !!!
- Ruben (10/5): - Felt like home. Very hospitable staff, wonderful and plentiful breakfast and the Riad itself is a work of art, with beautiful mosaiques and a quiet and lush patio and terrace where you can relax, have mint tea and do lots of daydreaming while contemplating the sun coming down over the Medina. Really recommend La Maison Verte.
- DesertDweller32 (6/5): Lovely terrace - and pretty details in room - other aspects mediocre - We had a pleasant stay at this riad. There are positives to the accommodation, as well as mediocre aspects.
The ultimate positive is the lovely terrace on the roof. I spent a good part of Sunday morning there, reading and using the wifi. It was such a gorgeous morning, and the terrace was comfortable, with excellent views of the surrounding city. It really gives you a perspective on how large Fes is.
The room we reserved, the Sidi Abdeslam suite, reflected the photos we saw on Booking.com accurately (except for the platters of food depicted!). The tile work is incredible, as is the elaborate painting on the woodwork throughout the suite. The suite had two bathrooms, a center table area which separated the two bedrooms, and a sitting area.
Now for the mediocre aspects:
* . this riad is quite far from the main medina area (that with lots of shops and restaurants) . That can be viewed as a positive, as the locals were quite welcoming, or a negative (20 dirhams fixed to that area by taxi - or 40 like they charged my husband to take advantage. The other ridiculous part is the driver wouldn't use the meter, yet when a local got in after us, you heard the beep of the meter for them!!!!!)
* quite noisy at night - and in the day!! Again, since it is a more "local" accommodation, you heard the loud family fights (woman SCREAMING) as well as individuals' voices echoing off the walls of the narrow passageways. At night, I thought a group of children was playing on the roof next to us - their voices were so amplified. (so much for the slogan of the riad: timeless serenity)
* no "welcome" Moroccan cookies. Sure this may seem like a petty thing, but EVERY riad we have stayed at in this country has provided some form of carbohydrate with the welcome tea.
* disparity with the included breakfast. The table next to us got a GIGANTIC fruit platter to enjoy with their breakfast. Us? Nope...!
* when trying to verify travel plans using the hotel wifi, the wifi on the terrace is far better than the connectivity in your room
So, although the room was nice, I'm not sure if the mediocre aspects make this the best choice when anticipating a short stay in Fes.
- PermanentWknd (8/5): Elaborate decor in this homey riad - Good: Clean.
Excellent: customer service (gladly made creative room changes to accommodate one in our party who found difficulty with stairs). D-Link wifi. The spacious rooms were elaborately decorated with polychromatic painting on the woodwork and offered plenty of lounging area to spend time taking it all in.
- 692danim (8/5): Nice place and staff but some information missing - when we were about to leave the Riad, we were told we had to pay 92 dirhams ( around 8 euros) in local taxes. They charged me automatically all the money the previous day to our stay, so i did not understand they asked me for local taxes when we were about to head to the airport. We had no money, no euros, no dirhams (only 35 dirhams), so we paid it and left. The difference was paid for a woman of the staff. Dont understand why they did not charge all the money together or why they waited to the last moment to inform us.
- Verified traveler (4/5): a riad in the old medina of fez - 1) room dark with no windows, claustrophobic
2) room damp and cold
3) room noisy, door opening directly to the small common reception area, with no privacy
4) riad share a wall with a small mosque and every morning at 5:30 am woken up by the muezzin and his poorly functioning microphone which sounded like in the room itself. this will go on for at least 10 minutes to wake you up for good.
all of these points need to be listed on the site of the hotel and on expedia so not to deceive the customers.
- mcivli65 (10/5): Fabulous lunch; gorgeous decor - Our tour group of 30 people had lunch at this restaurant. There were several Moroccan salads to start and then we got to choose between couscous and tajine. There were vegetarian options as well as chicken or beef. It was all fabulous. The decor was gorgeous and comfortable. Highly recommended.
