- stephen (10/5): - We thought the owners were welcoming,friendly and helpful.Breakfast was very tasty with locally sourced eggs ,tomatoes and delicious sausages of a very high standard. Filtered water was provided. The location was excellent with a local part opposite for dogs and a bus stop to the town centre.The beach is a short distance away. Perhaps there could have been shower gel and a teatowel and the shower door could open a little more, and was a little tight to enter,but these were very minor points. Paul and Sarah were excellent hosts and took a lot of care of their guests and running their property.

Clean, bright, and comfortable room. Peaceful location with Youngs park, Goodrington beach and Splashdown quaywest right on the doorstep but only a 15 minute walk to the busier Paignton town.

- Michael (10/5): Short Break in Paignton - Had a great short break in Paignton staying with Sarah and Paul at the Rowcroft Lodge. The guest house is well located with a short walk to the town centre, including the Dartmouth Steam Railway station, and even shorter walk to the beach. Sarah does a very nice freshly cooked breakfast and the room and bed very comfortable. We were made very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

- Philip (10/5): A lovely place to stay in Paignton by the Sea. - Arrival information was clear and check-in was straightforward. Breakfast was provided and was served to order. Has to be ordered the night before via WhatsApp Message. Room was comfortable for our family of four and our dog. We were down for a long weekend break and with being so close to the beach, we had a great stay. Lots to do in walking distance but a few hills around the area. Owners were very pleasant and very approachable should you need anything. We did not require any additional items, but felt we could have easily asked if we did. During our stay we had no issues and at the end it was a straightforward check out process. Our only minor thought is parking. There is 3 parking spaces at the front, but all other spaces are on street parking which was quite busy throughout the weekend. There are other hotels, B&Bs and guest houses along the road with similar parking situations. Fortunately we managed to park on the drive most of the time though. Overall we had a nice stay and will probably stay again.

- debbie (10/5): - Stayed in Room 5. Recently refreshed to an excellent standard. Comfy bed, modern functional TV in a good position. Small but functional bathroom facilities. Tea and coffee facilities in room, extras available from convenient locations throughout the building if needed. Breakfast is easily preordered by WhatsApp, with a selection of cereals also available. We really enjoyed our breakfasts which were of a high quality. Smelling your breakfast cooking as you get ready is such a treat. It was a warm couple of nights, and buildings of this age do retain the heat, especially on the upper floors, but it is quiet and safe enough to sleep with the window letting in the cool night air. Sarah & Paul were really inviting and engaged hosts, a beautiful example of how a guest house should be.

Breakfast was good. In one room a lack of places to put stuff. absolutely would not stop me going back! Parking is on road so you may not be able to park directly opposite.

- Ruth (9/5): Great location, friendly hosts, warm welcome! - This guest house is located close to the beach, and within walking distance of Paignton Harbour and the Steam Railway. There is parking at the property as well as in the street outside. We were given a warm welcome by our hosts, Sarah and Paul. Our room (10) was selected as it has a large bed, which we need. It was of a decent size, and the bed was very comfortable. As it happens Room 10 is also pet-friendly, which many potential guests will appreciate. The breakfast, cooked to order, included meat, eggs and tomatoes all sourced locally (in some cases from our hosts' own garden). All in all we felt welcome and valued during our 2-night stay, and we hope to return. The bathroom in room 10 is on the small side, though everything works fine. It also has a macerating system for the removal of water and toilet waste, which if you need to use the loo in the night may disturb your travelling companion!

Off road parking and slots available on the street as well. A very comfortable and spotless double room, and a super choice of breakfast each morning (including delicious home grown eggs and tomatoes!). Lovely hosts who made us feel welcome. They immediately upgraded us from the room we had booked. It was a lovely big room with plenty of storage and a view of the park and the sea from the bay window. Wonderful full English breakfast with all the trimmings. The quiet location is close to a lovely park and beach. By following the cliff path you can arrive at Paignton beach in 15 to 20 minutes. Thank you Sarah and Paul for a wonderful stay. Everything was perfect!

Rooms were clean and well equipped with towels, toiletries, hairdryer, and unending tea & coffee. We had a park/sea view which was beautiful. The hosts are lovely; welcoming and helpful, attended to any concerns straight away and shared additional info regarding the event we were in Goodrington for as they got it. Breakfast and breakfast choices were good. Hosts are paddleboarders and fully involved in the local SUP community which was an unexpected bonus too! :) If we had to find a negative, only parking. There are 3 spaces outside the property (we got one on arrival but lost it the next day!) and some on street, however there is a large car park on the other side of the park a few minutes away. Top tip - approach from Braeside Road, much less hair-raising!!

- Worsfold (10/5): Rowcroft Lodge - Very good central location. Close to Train/Bus links. Easy to travel to other areas for trips, like Torquay and Dartmouth (via the Steam Railway to Kingswear). The Lodge is opposite Youngs Park, a wonderful green space with boating lake, and with Goodrington beach less than a 5 minute walk away. There is also a great splash/waterslide park located between the park and beach. The Lodge itself is spacious, clean, and welcoming. The hosts, Sarah and Paul, are fantastic and warm, and make you feel at home. The room, with an en suite shower room, was clean and spacious with a great bay window, which had a coffee table and 2 armchairs to relax with sea and park views. The room had plenty of storage space with a double wardrobe, 5 draw chest, and 2, 3 draw bedside units. An amazing stay overall. Nothing to dislike.

Good breakfast with home produced eggs and own recipe butcher sausages. Comfortable and clean en-suite room. No problems at all. Minor point which did not detract from our stay was the absence of marmalade or jam with breakfast. :-)

- Debbie (8/5): Friendly B&B in a great location - Good location, we could walk into Paignton. Off road parking spaces and also roadside parking. Rooms are not serviced for short stays but towel changes are available on request and refill stations on each floor to replenish tea/coffee supplies. Breakfast is pre-ordered via Whatsapp the night before.

- Kristine (10/5): - Hotel itself is amazing, well Presentable outside and inside is very clean and tidy, breakfast was lovely. Owners are welcoming and funny 😁 location is great because its near the beach, park, Cafes and some pubs. But the cons are that parking at the hotel is not great. They only have 3 parking spaces so if they are taken you have to park outside on the street but trying to find a spot is very hard! As its free parking and people park there because its close to the beach and thats why i had to put a 2 star rating on the area around the property. if you are not a dog lover then forgot about the beach as dogs are allowed on them and there are loads of them!
- Alison (10/5): A Torbay gem! - What a lovely B&B - the location was fantastic, the room gorgeous with everything we needed. Supremely comfortable beds and the whole property was so welcoming, beautifully decorated and well appointed. Breakfasts were amazing, especially the freshly laid eggs from the resident hens. Nothing was too much trouble for Sarah and Paul who are a great tag team at breakfast time and it was so lovely to see how engaging they were, not to mention how obviously proud they are of their business. I would have no hesitation to recommend Rowcroft Lodge to anyone and will be returning as soon as I can. My friend who came along with me has already re-booked for later this year! We had a wonderful time. Having to leave!
