- Laura (9/5): Superb destination stay - The room was of a very high standard - perfect finish and standard, large bright room with fantastic sliding doors looking over the countryside. The facilities in the room were great also- iron, hairdryer, fridge and tea and coffee. The only thing that let our stay down was poor sleep down to uncomfortable pillows. I did try swapping them around but they were hard and lumpy so I tossed and turned all night.

- Paul (8/5): Excellent - Staff extremely friendly Good Welsh welcome Perfect venue for the wake for mum in afternoon in calon lodge Very good the the children too It was perfect really but if I had one bit of feedback it was that the waitress serving us at dinner didn’t have any grasp of the wine list for advice to us Just a very small criticism and she was great otherwise but in a vineyard you expect the servers to know the main differences with the house wines at least . Just a bit of feedback that’s all It didn’t soil anything

Nice coffee and tea available in the room. Soaps and shampoos from white company with lovely scent. A moisturiser would be nice. Hair dryer and ironing board present as well as bathroabs and slippers. Bathroom sink is plastic and is stained yellow making it look dirty. Broken wine glass. Door to the bathroom was dirty on both sides and so was the hand-wash bottle. Would be nice to have a lamp on the desk as had to move one of the bedside table lamps.

Dining experience very good with attentive and staff prepared to engage with customers Reception not 24 hours and appeared unmanned from early evening. The shower looked nice however didn’t drain well at all which let to the water going over and having to stop the shower for it to go down which wasn’t convenient when showering. The smell in the bathroom wasn’t pleasant so maybe there was a drainage problem.

- DNE44 (9/5): Lovely hotel with excellent restaurant - Really lovely hotel/vineyard/restaurant only 20 minutes outside of Cardiff. Very nice facilities, large room with a lovely balcony. Dinner was exceptional. Bed was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was nicely appointed. Not a lot to complain about. Breakfast was a little generic and disappointing (felt a bit like a business travel hotel rather than a quality boutique hotel). The shower leaked onto the bathroom floor, but that was easily dealt with

- Alexandra (10/5): comfortable and clean - The room was clean, well presented, the bed was comfortable, although no complimentary tea or coffee - considering we paid £200 for the night, I thought we may have been able to had a cuppa in the morning Offering the complimentary tea and coffee for the morning, would have made the morning just more cosy and comfortable, rather than having to leave the property to get a hot drink. I feel breakfast was offered to us, but at £20 per person, this was a bit steep. again considering the price paid for the room this could have been included

Said multiple times that people booking through a third party (ie Expedia) get treated differently and said shouldn’t haven’t booked through a third party. Room was super tired and the shower was blocked and dirty. Their basic rooms have no windows (not explicit, hidden in the small print). Heating didn’t work properly. Would not book there again.

But £25 , if not booked. Not very nice. I refused to support that and had no breakfast. Still no EV charging- I do wish hotels would understand that there are many electric cars around.

Courtyard room was pretty soulless…not particularly cosy or welcoming. Tiny bathroom that needed some work. Poor beer choices in the bars. We attended a wedding in the marquee in the grounds. I’m not sure if the food served there was provided by the hotel. But it was dire. Good points are the location, beautiful views (especially from roof terrace) and ample parking. Also the restaurant and terrace are nice. Underwhelming on the whole.
