Denise (8/5): - The first room we checked into on the 2nd floor smelled like mildew. We were given a different room #122 that ended up a very nice and comfortable stay. I thought I had left my makeup bag when I checked out so I called and spoke to Lilly she was so kind with offering to bring it to me being that she lived close by. I ended up finding the makeup bag and called to let Lilly know and how much I appreciated her kindness. The breakfast was good and all the staff were friendly.

Jesus (6/5): Meh - The building when walking in looks very nice. The staff was beyond kind and attentive when checking in. The elevator was making weird sounds when in use so we used the stairs since our room was on the second floor. Our room was nothing to brag about. It has a very humid smell, the room was large but looked very empty and cheap. The tv was small and the control was very used. The bed was uncomfortable but we really appreciated the mini fridge and microwave(!) that where in the room. Breakfast was nice and filling, the worker was very attentive to everyone and checked in with everybody in the dining area before putting the food away. That was beyond nice. Honestly if the building and rooms had an upgrade it would be pretty top tier but for this visit it was okay. Probably would look elsewhere next time.

A couple things: the drain in the bathtub was slow as molasses but probably just needs to be snaked. The breakfast was very nice but the coffee machine needs to be adjusted so that the coffee comes out stronger. I watched it add water as the cup was filling & it made the coffee very weak. Other than those two things it was a good value & I would stay there again.

Julie (2/5): - Worst experience EVER! As a grandma recently in cancer remission I came to town to visit my daughter and granchildren. The kids wanted to sleep over with me and swim in the pool for a little bit. I had paid for a king-sized room-the largest option. As the kids came in-the clerk-B R A X T O N statedthey were not allowed to be there, could not swim or stay overnight-that it was against policy and against the law. He refused to provide stated pilicy and was beyond rude. I adked to speak to the manager on call-LilyChristian-she also was unreasonable telling me my grandkids could not visit me at the hotel. Clerk went on to say if i wanted to pay for a second room the KIDS could sleep over! Meanwhile a set of grandparents with their 2 grandchildren were in and out of the pool area and were staying in one room (i asked). Clerk was a power-tripping jerk who told me to leave the property. I was shaking i was so upset and just wanted to spend quality time with my grandkids. I told him i was not leaving until i got a refund and this went around and around with the manager-who instructed B-clerk to refund the extra taxes they charged on top of the Expedia charges-and told me "you contact Expedia that's your problem". I stayed in the hotel lobby while contacting an Expedia rep to tell them the situation and ask for a refund or credit-just as long as this crappy place did not receive payment for treating me horribly and telling me to leave the propertyDON'T Book here!!

Shanna (6/5): Average Experience - Our stay was average. There was only one person working the desk at a time and they were obviously performing many other tasks too. It was difficult to find the desk person at times. We booked our stay weeks ago and yet we were put in a handicap accessible room. Not our first choice but we didn't complain or ask to change rooms. They were not sold out. The room itself was deteriorating, specifically the bathroom. I did like that they provided plenty of towels and serviced our room when we requested. I did not eat breakfast but looked at it and found it to be very average. Next year we will try out the Holiday Inn next door.

S Douglas (4/5): - On this stay, we were VERY disappointed. We booked through Expedia to stay while we moved our daughter into her dorm at NWOSU. We got in rather late the first night, no one took a bath or shower. However, the 2nd night, we discovered that the bathtub was broken and there was no hot water! We also found fleas in our room which was surprising. We were under the impression this was a "no-pet" property. The hotel offered a refund (admirable) for one night, but since we booked through Expedia, they couldn't do anything!

It was large and very clean with comfy beds. The pool area was a nice bonus, we enjoyed for a couple hours. The breakfast was minimal but it was hot. Our last visit to Alva we stayes at the Holiday Inn. For the price difference I would definitely choose Comfort Inn again.

The faucet in the bathtub is coming away from the wall, and shower curtain was ripped. We were very disappointed that the pool was closed because our grandson was looking forward to swimming. Other than that it was good.

Overall the cleanliness is ok, but this time I noticed smudges and smears all over the headboards and wood furniture. The bathroom was ok. Chrome spigot in tub is caked in lime sediment. I realize you might be short staffed. I appreciate details and think maybe on slow days someone can go polish furniture and take care of details. Staff is ALWAYS polite and helpful.
